You know it's true by the tone of the news articles. Are they horrified that someone who was unaware of their intersex status is having their personal information splattered across the news? Are they upset that this person is being excluded and their past accomplishments erased simply because of the way their body is designed?

No, they're glad that the purity of the sexes is being upheld, and it's a little sad that some cis person is taking the punishment that was designed for trans kids, except, wait...

...are they glancing at someone's elementary school records or birth certificate to verify that this person is the gender that was OBSERVED at birth (or for some intersex people, assigned at birth)? No, they are not. They are examining chromosomes. They are doing physical examinations to discover ambiguous genitals that would not be reflected in the gender on the person's birth certificate. This specifically targets intersex people, not perisex trans people. It merely catches perisex (non-intersex) trans people while we're at it.

And one more thing: this specifically targets those intersex people who have already undergone medical abuse and disfigurement, punishing them even when they have followed (usually nonconsensually) society's edict to appear to be cis perisex.

This doesn't target intersex people with a mixed gender presentation because you would have already assumed they were trans, no testing needed. Those people have already been successfully targeted. They are targeting gender conforming intersex people. They are targeting people with intersex variations that don't result in nonbinary secondary sex characteristics. They are targeting people who have already suffered genital mutilation and/or forced HRT.

This says that even when intersex people do conform to the gender binary in a way that matches their birth certificate's observed or assigned sex, even then they deserve to have their passion taken from them, their awards retracted, and their personal medical information distributed to the public.

This is not about perisex trans people. This targets a different group under the excuse that they are looking for perisex trans people. And when it is discovered that an intersex person has been caught in that trap, it's sad, but no harm at all in telling everyone their full name, their hometown, and the specifics of their intersex variation.

That's necessary in order to protect cis perisex kids from this lack of purity in gendered sports, right? Because we're worried that the intersex person will continue to participate in gendered sports unless we dox them and ensure that they will be subjected to discrimination each time an employer or landlord or partner's family members googles their name and finds the old news articles? Maybe it's okay because if they wanted to avoid that doxxing, they should have changed their name. It's only right that intersex people should have their name taken from them, too.

This perisex person is thoroughly disgusted. Stop it. Intersex people deserve to be protected from bigotry. They deserve equal opportunity. They deserve to have the right to decide whether others know about their status as an intersex person. They deserve to enjoy the joy of participating in sports and earning accolades without fears that those will be taken away, knowing they will be publically bullied just because their body isn't like the ones we learn about in sex ed. There should never be an intersex person who has to decide not to participate in sports because they may eventually be doxxed.

This behavior is our choice as perisex people and we are choosing to victimize them. We don't stop when we realize they're intersex rather than perisex transgender. We don't stop when the intersex person is found to be cisgender. We destroy their lives anyway. This is not transphobia. It's bigotry specificaly aimed at gender-conforming intersex people.

Watching the whole "would you rather be in the woods with a bear or a strange man" debate go down is so funny to me as someone who has gone camping up in the mountains a good portion of my life and actually seen bears because like

They are NOT nearly as dangerous as some of the people mad about people choosing the bear are making them out to be. Even grizzlies. Generally, unless you are near their babies or they are literally starving, they'll leave you alone as long as you leave them alone. I actually did not feel that unsafe the handful of times I saw a bear in the woods because I understood that as long as I wasn't a complete fucking idiot about it, the bear wasn't going to do shit to me. Bears generally do not want to attack humans. About the only one that has been known to actually try to hunt humans is a polar bear, and you're not going to find a polar bear in a fucking forest.

Your idea of a purge movie is infinitely more interesting than anything that happens in any of the actual purge movies, because most of those films are just "Hey affluent Suburbanite white people, aren't criminals SPOOKY"

ok so i feel the need to clarify, i do actually kinda like the purge movies. in premise at least.

maybe this is colored by the one purge movie ive seen being "the purge: election year", but to my understanding this is one of those series where, quality of the films themselves notwithstanding, there is a substantial gap between the thing the movies are trying to communicate (that the purge is a rhetorical device for the way the ruling class pits the working class against one another one order and keeps them in a state of blind anger and fear to prevent them from gaining class consciousness and rising against their actual oppressors) and the thing most audiences take away from it (that people are inherently violent and cruel and if left ungoverned will dissolve into a state of total chaos (<- this is in fact the propaganda the ruling class within the film pushes in order to create and sustain the purge!))

honestly id probably have watched more of them if not for a) the bad impression this popular misunderstanding left me with and b) i dont really like home invasion horror movies much (with few notable exceptions). maybe i still will someday.

You know I have a cousin who is a trans woman who is visibly and openly trans online, and because she is my family member and I have known her all my life I think I can say on good authority that she is nothing close to a faultless person. I actually had a lot of problems with her growing up and she still often posts inappropriate and objectionable things online that perhaps make her a bigger target than just the fact that she is trans by itself. And I like know that she's quite an easy target and I see herself put herself online in ways that make me worried and concerned for the kinds of comments she gets. She has people scroll her public Facebook page and on any post, especially if it mentions being trans or queer, whether it is innocuous or not, she'll get all these laugh reacts, because Facebook transphobes are evil. But it also feels like, I just wish she'd stop posting like she does. This is not blaming her, and I know transphobes seek her out whether they at first find her saying something respectable or not. It's not fair at all. But I do very much see that she cannot resist feeding the trolls and it's just hard to fucking watch

What little of her down time is reserved for interacting with children her age, whose parents also happen to be working in investigation, community outreach or legal fields (eg: Navia).

Much of her training is focused on disarming and incapicitating others; On hunting. She knows exactly when, where and how to strike. She knows what it takes to outpace her opponents. She knows when to overwhelm them. She knows how to go in for the kill. She just chooses not to at every turn, as frequently as she can.

Clorinde doesn't hunt animals.
