Tanjuro Kamado

Tanjuro Kamado, known professionally as Baby Tugs Tanjuro, was a Japanese jazz singer and self-proclaimed “song stylist” widely admired for his sense of rhythm and dynamics, and his early big band appearances that shattered the traditional image of the "boy singer". Refusing to pander to any male stereotype, Tanjuro presented himself as a "hip" jazz musician, wearing a band black and orange checkered Haori as opposed to an evening black tuxedo. He joined the Care Characters, pig Latin for "dough", slang for money.

Heya, could you write one for Tanjirou where the reader gets hurt on a mission and he feels bad about letting it happen as they were protecting Nezuko and he has feelings for her?
Thanks. I love your writing and take your time x
Okay I LOVE THIS
Tanjiro realizing his feelings for reader after she risks her life to protect Nezuko
Pairing: Tanjiro x fem!reader
Word Count: 2,8k
Synopsis: Despite being well-composed and never deciding without thinking twice, you find yourself recklessly risking your life in order to protect Nezuko from getting hurt by Daki. Little do you know what an impact your second impulsive choice will have...
Warnings: severe injury, near death experience, fluff over fluff with Tanjiro with probably the cutest ending I've ever written, not proofread, I'll use one collage and one stand-alone AI pic so if this triggers you, I suggest not to read or look at them 🤍
You never considered yourself impulsive. No, you never acted out of a feeling, never operated without thinking twice. Always kept your composure, a cool head. Maybe this is the reason for you still being alive, the reason why you are able to call yourself a quite skilled demon slayer on the side of your friends.
“You’ll come with me. I need you to look out for my wives.”
It was clear right from the start that this wouldn’t be an easy mission. All of Tengen’s wives enjoyed education when it comes to fighting skills. As a former shinobi, he made sure they were able to defend themselves. If he lost contact to them, it was clear something bigger is behind it. Something way bigger than anything you witnessed until that day.
“I can’t allow you to take (y/n) with you like that. I will join!”, Tanjiro suddenly shouted from behind with his oh so confident voice.
You will never forget the way he smiled at you back then, how much he cared for your well-being each and everyday since you arrived in the red-light district.
“I would never allow a demon to hurt one of my friends!”
Friends. Not quite the word you’d like to use for him. Since you first met each other when he saved you during the final selection, you always kept an eye open for the boy with the special kimono.
And his sister.
Apart from many people who dislike her, you loved Nezuko since the first day you laid eyes on her. Slowly but surely, it became your mission as well to save her, to free her from the curse of being a demon.
“I guess I’ll never be able to thank you enough for your support.”
You didn’t allow yourself to look at him, fully aware of that you’d get lost in his tender orbs again if you do. No, instead your eyes roamed about the glittering city to your feet, drifting over the facial expressions of the people underneath you.
“We’re friends, right? This is what friends do”, you murmured into the night.
Oh, you didn’t believe yourself a single word. What a filthy little lie to call Tanjiro a friend when all you are able to think about is his smell, when his voice is everything that lingers through your mind. Are friends supposed to think about one another constantly, to ponder about how their lips might feel pressed against each other? You promised yourself to never find out. After all, revealing your true feelings might scare him away forever. And losing Tanjiro all at once is definitely far worse than calling yourself his friend. After all, this would be impulsive with a not foreseeable outcome.
But even after you swore you’d never act out of a feeling, you find yourself sprinting into certain death.
It all happened faster than you expected. Inosuke managed to find Tengen’s wives and therefore the demon.
The upper moon six, to be exact.
The devilish who injured not only your friends, but Tanjiro as well. And now, she’s about to injure Nezuko as well.
Apart from your usual composed self, you find yourself dashing forward while grabbing the handle of your katana tightly. This is ridiculous, you don’t stand a chance against a demon like hair. Nezuko is a demon herself, she’d probably recover from her injuries.
You furrow your eyebrows, eyes fixated on both of them. It doesn’t matter right now. All you are able to think about is helping your friend.
“Get your filthy hands away from her”, you hiss through gritted teeth.
A well-placed hit. Your knee hits the ground roughly. Then everything around you is discoloured red.
Like in slow motion, you watch your own body sink onto the ground lifelessly. Your lungs feel like collapsing any given minute while you gasp for air like a fish on land. Blood takes your sight, drips down onto the already soaked floor while all you can do is watch in sheer horror as that hell of a demon grins at you.
“You did well until now. Dumb girl, why would you even think about defending a demon? Look how weak you are.”
The urge to cough becomes unbearable. Over and over, you spit out your own blood until your ribs feel like breaking. Did she hit you? Are you severely injured? Apart from your aching lungs, your body feels completely numb, almost lifeless. Like in slow motion, you watch as she walks towards you, the upper moon six emblem sparkling dreadfully in her eyes.
Is this your end?
What a senseless way to die when Nezuko is a demon. After all, even an upper moon wouldn’t be able to kill another demon without the right blade to do so. You never considered yourself so impulsive, so reckless.
Your eyes dart towards Tanjiro’s beloved sister who puts up a desperate fight against all the debris that buried her. Not everything needs to make sense.
It doesn’t make sense you decided to spare her life in the first place. It doesn’t make sense that you fell for her brother, that you allowed yourself feelings deeper than sympathy in a world full of cruelness and death. It doesn’t make sense that you decided to follow the sound hashira only to rescue his wives, that you actually considered going with him on your own.
All of that because you are so madly in love with Tanjiro. All of that because you view Nezuko as your own sister and could never allow another person to hurt her.
“What an ugly girl you are with your face twisted like that. What’s wrong? Are you in pain?”
You can hear your flesh bursting underneath another merciless hit of her belt, feel the throbbing pain that starts radiating through your bones. You will die right here and now, without any doubt. And you will die without seeing his face again, without telling him a single word about your true feelings.
“Don’t worry (y/n), I’m sure we’ll be fine! And as soon as we’re back, I’ll invite you to a bowl of ramen!”
A bowl of ramen?
Like in trance, you press your hand onto your leg, feel your busted flesh all too clearly, your very own blood slipping through your fingers.
Just like the love of your life.
“You need to get up.”
A distant voice in the back of your brain, muted by the constant ringing that takes over your ears.
“(y/n), can you hear me? You need to get up.”
Is Tanjiro still with Tengen-sama? They will manage to defeat those demons, you just know it. With the help of Inosuke, Zenitsu and Tengen-sama, Tanjiro will be alright. Who knows, maybe he’ll be a hashira in a week from now, maybe he’ll defeat Muzan Kibutsuji. Oh, what you’d give to hear that boy’s voice one last time, to witness his beaming smile again.
“She’s basically dead, idiot. Get lost so I can finish her.”
Are those hands lifting you off the ground or is your soul evaporating from your body?
“Please stay with me, (y/n). You need to keep on fighting.”
You allow your eyes for the briefest second. When you open them again, you barely miss how Nezuko catapults the upper moon six into a nearby building with full force. No, why would she risk to get hurt, what if that woman hurts her? It seems like you’re moving away from the scene and you’re unable to do anything apart from stretching out your shaky hand.
“No…I can’t…leave….”, you breathe out.
“Why did you risk your life like that? (y/n) you…you could be dead right now.”
That voice, it isn’t inside your head. No, someone is talking to you with an oh too familiar voice in a tone you know so well.
“Tanjiro.”
“I’m here, (y/n). And I promise everything will be alright? I just...don’t do something like that ever again, not even for Nezuko.”
Even though the sheer movement feels like breaking your own neck, you lift up your head enough to make sure this isn’t just a dream.
But his eyes are already set on you, filled with nothing but worry and threat while he carries you over the battlefield.
For a moment, time stands still. Just you and Tanjiro. No battlefield, no injuries, no demons. Just peace, love and Tanjiro.
Love.
“I love you”, you mutter so muted that he almost fails to understand.
You can feel his heartbeat picking up next to your throbbing head, watch how his eyes widen. Oh, how lovely they look in that red light, how easy it is to get lost in their gleam. What a waste of time it was to keep your feelings to yourself when all you were able to do was thinking about him. How lucky you are to feel your body pressed against his one last time.
One last time…
“I…so…tired…”
Desperately, you fight against the urge to close your eyes. You need to take this sight in for a little longer, need to stay awake at least for another minute. But your vision slowly but surely starts to get darker and darker until you can’t see him anymore.
“(y/n), don’t give up on me, not when I didn’t told you that-“
Nothingness.
-a week later-
“You should really start focus on getting back on your feet yourself, you know? It won’t help her if you don’t get better too”, the Kakushi next to him speaks out.
Since the moment he opened his eyes and realized that you aren’t awake, Tanjiro didn’t allow himself to leave your side. The last time he did that was at the entertainment district. The last time he did that you almost lost your precious life over defending his sister.
“I will stay just a little longer”, he mumbles lost in thoughts.
You always loved Nezuko dearly despite being a demon. Even though your logical thinking and composed acting, you accepted her as the human she was before and supported him in finding a cure for his sister. Still…
He runs his fingers through his hair roughly, frustration almost taking over him. Tanjiro never expected you to almost sacrifice your precious life for his sister. Not when she’s fighting against a demon, not when two upper moons are your opponents. No one would have doubted you, would have judged you for staying in safety. Nezuko would have never allowed you to interfere if she could, just like him.
“I should have arrived sooner. I should have been right by her side all the time. Maybe none of this would have happened if I kept an eye on her like I promised…”
“Don’t be a fool, she would have never allowed you to stay by her side knowing that it might cost the success of the mission. Still, I didn’t expect someone like her to act so reckless. Who’s your sister doing?”, the man opposite of Tanjiro replies.
“She’s been crying the whole time.”
“Did she finally wake up?”, Inosuke suddenly blurts out while entering the room on his own.
“She’s still unconscious”, Tanjiro explains briefly.
“Did you put that horrible bandage around her head? Before you came here, it looked alright”, the Kakushi interferes dryly.
“With the power of master Inosuke, (y/n) will be back on her feet in no time!”
“H…Hello?”
When your eyes flutter open, you get greeted by 3 pairs of excited eyes in an instant, your clouded mind still unable to process that you’re awake.
“Where am I?”, you croak with your throat feeling like sandpaper.
“I will call Shinobu-sama right away”, the Kakushi announces and gets up with a swift motion.
“You’re at the butterfly estate, dumbass”, Inosuke barks at you.
“(y/n)….I was so worried about you!”
Before you’re able to react any further, you find yourself emerged by green and black fabric, surrounded by a scent you know so well by now.
“Tanjiro”, you breathe out.
Over and over, you whimper his name like a prayer in order to convince yourself that this is real. You didn’t die. You are still alive. And right now, none other than Tanjiro Kamado holds you in his arms as tenderly as you always imagined. Is it a dream, maybe? A sweet hallucination to get you through the immense pain?
“I’m sorry I wasn’t there. All of this, only to stand up for my sister. Words can’t express how worried I was. How is it possible that this made me realize how much I-“
“You’re finally awake, how relieving. Would you mind moving to the side so that I’m able to examine (y/n), Tanjiro-san?”
That voice as sweet as honey belongs to Shinobu Kocho, without any doubt.
“S-Sure.”
“You really fought well, (y/n). Surviving that long with such severe injuries took its toll on your body, though. All of this because you wanted to protect Tanjiro’s sister?”
Her skilled hands begin roaming around your skin while you feel her gaze fixated on you. But you cannot look at Shinobu-san right now. No, your eyes are locked with those of Tanjiro next to you.
“They both mean the world to me”, you murmur.
He lets out his breath visibly while taking a step towards you. What is that glimmer in his eyes? Sorrow, dread?
Or maybe affection?
“How unusual for you to act this reckless. But maybe this is what love makes us do, right? I will leave you two alone for now. How about you’re taking a look outside? The sunset looks lovely today. But please use a wheelchair since your leg is still shattered.”
With a last bright smile, the insect pillar is gone in the wind again, leaving you alone with Tanjiro in a suddenly so tensed room.
“What do you think? Do you want to watch the sunset with me?”, Tanjiro questions with low voice.
“I would love to.”
As careful as ever, he lifts you off the bed and places you into the wheelchair before gently guiding you outside.
Your eyes get greeted by the prettiest red you’ve ever seen covering the whole sky. Like a painting, the beautiful scenery lays itself in front of your eyes. Shinobu-san’s flowers painted in the colors of the sky, the fluffy clouds that look so comfortable from afar.
But what mesmerizes you way more than that is the striking sight next to you, the boy you loved in silence since you first saw him. With his face lit by the downgoing sun and the ever so slight blush that creeps up his face while looking at you, you can’t help but get lost.
“Maybe I needed this”, he speaks out.
You blink a few times, still tired mind trying to process the meaning of his words.
“What?”
There is it. His usual beaming smile, the optimistic glimmer inside his gorgeous orbs. Careful not to hurt you he grabs your hand and gently strokes it while kneeling down next to you. Is this really happening? Your heart threatens to beat out of your chest, reminds you urgently that you are definitely still alive. Why would Tanjiro Kamado get onto his knees for you?
“You.”
An answer so simple and yet so intimate that you can’t help but blush as well. Like in slow motion, you watch as he draws closer and closer until his face is only inches away from yours.
“I love you, (y/n). I guess I was too dumb to realize it until I saw you injured like that because you protected my sister. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
The words leave your mouth just in time before he places his soft lips onto yours, making all your dreams come true with one innocent kiss.
You always acted well-thought and composed. But oh, what a plot twist it was to follow your heart twice in a row.
-bonus-

“Did…Shinobu-san put this around my head?”, you question while staring blankly at your messy hair and the wild bandadge around your head.
“The insect girl? Of course it was me! You wouldn’t even be awake if it wasn’t for me! But don’t worry, you can worship me later”, Inosuke replies while stretching out his chest in full proud.
“You look…”
“Well…”
“I mean…”
None of the three girls dare to raise their voices at him whereas you stare yourself up and down. Of course, it was Inosuke. Shinobu-san would never stitch you up like that.
“Do you want…Kanao to fix this?”, one of them finally suggests quietly.
“Yeah….I guess that would be pretty nice.”

Kamado Family Name Analysis
竈門: Kamado A rare but existing surname, the hearth (竈, kamado) is also an important gateway (門) through which disease can enter a home and make a family sick, so it therefore needed special attention in order to keep the family healthy. Likewise, it required care so as not to cause fire damage. However, it was likewise the source of sustenance for a house’s inhabitants, so the state of a hearth also reflects the state of the family. To say things are lively around a hearth is to say that a family is doing well, to say that the hearth is broken is to say that they’ve lost their fortune, and so on. You could also think of the fire itself sometimes being a cause for danger, something susceptible to evil influence, like how it might burn humans, so it took having a god of the health to protect against that too. These are reasons why the god of the hearth has been worshiped since ancient times, not only for protection from the dangers of fire, but also for prosperity.
As for the the personal names throughout the generations, follow me below...
Sengoku Period (often considered 1467–1568, though other dates are in use):
炭吉: Sumiyoshi Although you don’t typically see charcoal (炭, as sumi or tan) in a name, 吉 isn’t all that uncommon, whether as yoshi or kichi. It means “luck.” It’s worth stating right away that although making charcoal means working with fire for a few days at a time, it also means the longer-term work of forest management. A charcoal worker is nothing without plants. Notice the 山 (mountain, yama) that is also with 火 (fire, often hi or ka) in the 炭.
すやこ: Suyako Presented only in phonetic hiragana, we don’t have kanji to read into, but this is a pretty clever name. Because how -ko makes it sound like a typical girl’s name, similar to her descendants Nezuko and Hanako, the su also makes it feel similar to the rest of her family. Suya doesn’t really mean anything on its own, but suyasuya is an onomatopoeia for “sleeping soundly.”
すみれ: Sumire Another clever one presented only in phonetic hiragana. Sumi makes it sound like she inherited the charcoal family name, but sumire means “violet,” so this is a precursor to later Kamado family naming trends. (However, the flowers she gave Yoriichi were not violets, but Catharanthus roseus—as a fun tidbit, these are called nichinichisou, that is, “sun-sun-grass” (日々草).)
Meiji Period (1868–1912) & Taisho Period (1912–1926):
炭十郎: Tanjuurou (Whatever)+郎(rou) is pretty common in men’s names, since it’s basically like adding “son” to the end of boy’s name. Using numbers in men’s names (like the number 10 here, 十) used to be relatively common too.
葵枝: Kie Although 葵 (aoi or ki) is commonly translated as “hollyhock” (due to being conflated with tachiaoi), it is more accurately translated as “wild ginger,” but this is annoying because even though it has a similar scent, it is not actually related to ginger. Let’s just call this low-growing herb aoi, since it has a lot of religious connotations with ancient shrines and festivals—but this is also annoying, because there is a character named Aoi and her name is written phonetically and might be in reference to the color. So let’s use the Latin name for this genus, Asarum. 枝 (e) is “branch,” so Kie’s name is literally “a branch of Asarum.” But, if we want to go a step further, in older ways of transcribing Japanese, 葵 used to be written phonetically as a-fu-hi with a-fu meaning “to encounter (later on transcribed as au)” and hi being a word representing a god’s power, so it’s said that the a-fu-hi/aoi plant symbolizes coming upon incredible power. How ironic that Kie married into a family known for Hinokami Kagura.
炭治郎: Tanjirou We’ve covered 炭 and 郎, so why the 治? This is a pretty common way of adding the ji sound to a guy’s name (like Hakuji), but why this one instead of, say 次 or 二? This may be because Gotouge wanted to give his name both fire (火) and water (水)! You can see the fire in the charcoal kanji, but the three dots at the left side of 治 are the water radical, which often means the kanji might have some association with water. Although 治 literally means things more like “quell” or “reign” or even “heal,” it can also mean being in control of something like a river.
禰豆子: Nezuko First off, most OS systems do not express this first kanji correctly. The left radical would look more like ネ, with 爾 on the right. Alas, 禰 (ne) is a bit of a rare kanji in the first place, meaning “ancestral shrine.” This is kind of heartwarming what with how connected Nezuko is with her family, and how the checkerboard pattern the Kamado family uses also denotes a continuity of family. As for the 豆 (zu or dzu or mame), this is “bean.” Beans are deeply tied with warding off demons. This is especially seen in the Setsubun custom of throwing beans at demons to cast them off. But, more recently I stumbled upon the knowledge that the kurobe tree (Japanese arborvitae/Thuja standishii), a coniferous evergreen with flattened branchlets, is also called nezuko (in phonetic katakana, ネズコ).
竹雄: Takeo “Bamboo man,” with 雄 (o or yuu or other readings) being a pretty common thing to stick to the end of a man’s name. It’s a kanji with a sort of heroic ring to it if you're adding the masculine -o ending anyway). Fast-growing bamboo (竹, take) can be a problem if, say, you primarily focus on making charcoal out of oak, but bamboo charcoal has a lot of uses for keeping spaces around the home free from humidity and bugs. What’s more, bamboo itself is a bit of a heroic plant—it grows straight, stays strong through the winter, and can stand a lot of pressure and still flexibly bounce back. I've also heard of it being associated with happiness because there is a bamboo radical at the top of the kanji for "smile/laugh" (笑).
花子: Hanako “Flower Child.” The plants are a bit obvious in this one.
茂: Shigeru Another common manly name, “to flourish.” Like plants would flourish.
六太: Rokuta I have tried really, really hard to look for hidden meaning this one. He’s just “six” (六, roku) with another common way of ending a boy’s name, 太 (ta or tai, for grand, broad, magnificent, or fat). Tanjuurou and Kie weren’t feeling very creative by the time they got to this one. Couldn’t you guys at least have given him a plant reference? That would have really helped my meta out, thanks. But maybe not all is lost on this name! After all, remember how we might conflate 火 (fire/hi) with 日 (sun/hi) in Hinokami Kagura? Arguably, the sun is just as important for charcoal workers who manage the forest! 日 is not the only way of writing "sun." There is also 太陽 (taiyou)!
Heisei Period (1989–2019) & Reiwa Period (2019–current):
カナタ: Kanata KAMADO FAMILY, EXPLAIN. First off, nobody else born into the family has a name in katakana, and by the era Kanata is born, this would be pretty unusual for a boy. I can only assume this choice was made in order to make an obvious connection to his great-great-grandmother’s name, カナヲ (Kanao). That being said, did they simply forget to give their eldest son the traditional charcoal name? Or did they notice a plethora of girls throughout this series named “Sumi” and decided to avoid it? In that case, too bad they forgot all about the existence of Ubuyashiki Kanata! (Her name was written in phonetic hiragana, かなた.)
炭彦: Sumihiko Oh good, the Kamado family got their act together and remembered the kanji they were supposed to pass on. As for that -hiko, I’ve heard some Japanese fans try to read into how it was also used in one of Muzan’s fake names, 月彦 (Tsukihiko, as he went by in Asakusa when married to a woman named Rei), but 彦 (hiko) is also so common at the end of men’s names that I don’t see any merit in digging for connections. What we can dig into, though, is 和語 (wago), that is, native Japanese words that existed before the influence of Chinese and the writing system that went with it. Hiko meant “a boy endowed with a divine spirit” (the equivalent for a girl was hime, which you might recognize later became a word for “princess.”) And why stop there? This still brings us back to hi, the divine power that is sometimes just a divine power, sometimes is fire, and often is the sun.
Speaking of the sun, here’s a couple honorary Kamado descendants, because they have really good homage built into their names:
燈子: Touko Remember that 火 (hi) character for fire which you can also find in charcoal 炭? It’s fitting that fiery Nezuko’s great-granddaughter has it built into her name! The 燈 (lantern/tou) has all sorts of hopeful, positive connotations about keeping a light going in the darkness.
善照: Yoshiteru Another clever one! Yoshi is another reading of the zen kanji (善, virtue) used in Zenitsu's name, and 照 (usually read teru in names )also means to “to illuminate.” It’s got a hi too! This time it’s the 日 for sun! Oh! And those four dots at the bottom of 照? Kind of looks like a fire at the bottom of a hearth, doesn’t it? That’s because this is also another radical for 火/fire, it’s just been broken into four different strokes!! He’s got fire and sun!! So much hi! But let’s not forget, hi can also just be a general way of referring to divine power, right? That is essentially what lightning was always thought of—a very, very powerful divine power. And certainly one that illuminates things, doesn’t it? There’s no lightning directly pounded into this name, but the associations are easy to make.
Okay, now really just throwing one more in for fun:
青葉: Aoba This is truly just “green leaves.” Or is it? Actually, the history of different color names across different languages and periods of time is very interesting, and it’s lead to 青 having multiple meanings. Blue and green didn’t always use to be separate ideas, so this kanji used to stand for both of them until 緑 (in Japanese, midori) came along. Nowadays in mainland Mandarin Chinese, you tend to use 绿 (lǜ) for green and 蓝 (lán) for blue, with 青 (qīng) reserved more for a blue/green shade or more generally with youth. In Japan, 緑 (midori) is used for both the color green and for the greenery of plants in general, and 青 (ao) is used for various shades of blue… typically. Sometimes it is still used for “green,” which is why traffic lights are “red, yellow, BLUE,” and sometimes, well, leaves are also called blue. Anyway, because the name is likely in homage to his great-grandmother and because he’s got the kanji to go with his, this is part of why I interpret Aoi’s phonetic katakana name (アオイ) as being in reference to the color (which is also used a lot in her character design) as opposed to the aforementioned plant. (More on Aoi, Kanao, Kanae, and Shinobu's names here.)

there are an assortment of factors that make tanjiro the person he is. tanjiro was raised in a community that's highly dependent on one another, he grew up as an older brother in a big and impoverished family and he experienced hardships and loss very early on, all these elements feed off his graceful and kind nature but one factor stands out the most and in my opinion and greatly affects tanjiro's way of going through the world and interacting with others: his parents raising him with so much love and gentleness
we see that from the first chapter where he's about to set off to sell coal, kie reassures tanjiro that he doesn't have to go, then kneels to his level and cleans his face attentively, she even discourages his siblings from going with him as not to tire or slow him

then after her death she shows up to apologize to tanjiro and asks him to look out for his sister

even in tanjiro dream she asks him not to push himself too hard

kie's gentle love is evident in the way she interacts with nezuko in mount natagumo and in her memory in the rld arc

the same can be said about tanjuro who in chapter 151 is described as a river. in the same chapter tanjiro is encouraged by his dad as he pats his head and praises him

then at night when tanjuro senses the bear he asks tanjiro to follow him, because It's important to him that his son learns how to defend their family after he is gone, but he makes sure to keep tanjiro out of danger, watching from a safe distance and when the threat is neutralized and tanjiro runs to him in tears, his dad doesn't shut him down for expressing his feelings instead he hugs and comforts him before he urges him to work hard and to never give up. he simply gentle parents him. he doesn't bubble wrap tanjiro, he lets him experience things but in a loving and firm care

tanjiro's outrage at enmu for portraying his family as cruel is an indication of the big difference between their true nature and enmu's lies

#tanjiro is a well loved child and you can tell#tanjiro kamado#kie kamado#tanjuro kamado#demon slayer#kimetsu no yaiaba#kny#text#a

Ex : u and genya are laying on the couch watching your favorite show / movie [ insert favorite show or movie ] genya is laying on your lap turned towards the tv and the show/ movie has went on commercial u lean down slowly kissing genya's scars u see him start to tear up so you wipe his eyes until he turns his face into your lap crying " y/n I love you , I'm so thankful to have somebody so beautiful and thoughtful and kind as you , you always make me smile , this is the best relationship I've been in , I see why I choose you as my future wife your so kind and u make me comfortable and safe , I love you , I want to spend my life with u and have kids and wake up to your beautiful face every morning , I- " just as he was about to continue the show/ movie is back on u lean down to whisper. " I love u to genya , there is no want I will spend my life with you " he turns to face up smiling and places a small peck on your lips.
( didggssjsizu🤷👄🤷♀️🫶🏾👄💔😐🤦🏾♀️😮🤷🤷🍵🤦🏾♀️👄💔😍💔😭🤦🏾♀️🥰😀😐 )
( mini heart attach , kicking my feet in my bed writing this rn )
• tell him you love him every chance u get he will die and come back to life speechless 🤭🥹
Ex : genya is going to get some groceries and u decide to stay home and finish up some work ask he walks out the door u quickly run to the door " see you later genya , I love you " he freezes in his steps looking down his nose actually starts to bleed he turns and says " I love you too , see you later honey " you notice his nose " are you ok baby? , Your nose.." he looks down to be standing in his own blood " N-NOTHING " he turns and dashes off covering his nose " SEE YOU LATER BABE , I LOVE YOU " you chuckle as u see him wave and run faster.
He still acts if it's you guys first time saying I love u it's so cute 🌝🌝🌝🌝

Ex : you are your shared futon as genya walks in the room , towel only covering his waist below he sits and you smell the all the new products you bought him last month and everyday from that night he uses all of it and when he goes to work he makes sure to spray your favorite perfume on him just in case , plus he loves to smell good.
-
Sadly this is the end of genya hcs I'm sorry that it's short it's just that I'm very unmotivated tbh

hear me out, this has been in my head since like before kny manga even finished, before final arc even-
a lot of people are confused and says tanjiro is yoriichi's reincarnation. I DISAGREE. HEAR ME OUT!!! personally i genuinely believe tanjiro's dad was yoriichi's reincarnation.
first of all, tanjuro (his dad) was shown to be a sickly man, but would be able to dance from sundown to sunrise with the help of the breathing technique passed down from their ancestors.
second of all, tanjuro was BORN with that mark on his forehead, unlike tanjiro who had to develop it after becoming a demon slayer.
actually i cant elaborate more, class just finished and im beyond exhausted so this is all you're going to get from me fam
idk i just think it would make so much sense with how tanjiro brought tiny tanjiro out to um kill the bear(? i think it was a hugee bear.) to show the breathing technique. and i just think it's really sweet if he was reincarnated and had what he wanted, that is a family that he loves with everything he has 😭😭

Remember if you want to be added to the spooktober taglist lemme know

You needed a job.
And you needed one BADLY.
It's not that you needed it really desperately and you weren't certainly poor or in debt. But you still needed a job or else you were afraid you might be married off soon. Your parents were afraid of you being able to get by 'without a man' and had been discussing the future and you getting married to a good man. You weren't dumb. All your friends and family members around your age were already married off with a few even already starting families now but you were neither married or engaged to anyone despite there already being a few men showing interest in you and your parents encouraging you to go on dates with them.
Maybe it was just you but you didn't feel ready. For marriage or a family. And obviously the men asking you to marry them wanted both.
By this point your parents were starting to get concerned about your lack of marriage and you were afraid they were going to engage you off to someone soon. So you came up with a simple idea. Get a job. If your parents were concerned about you being self sufficient then getting a job would be the easiest way to ease their worries and not put he idea of engaging you to anyone on the table. So you began your job hunt the very next day.. However things were a little difficult to say the least. It seemed like no one wanted to hire you.
The pub-
"Sorry lady. I already have all the waitresses I need."
Anyone's homes-
"I don't need a cleaning lady! I got a wife that does that for me!"
"I don't need a babysitter. My mother loves watching my children."
"Why would I need a servant? That's the whole point of me having a wife."
The schoolhouse-
"Are you trying to take my job? I assure you I don't need any woman around here thinking that she's smarter than a man!"
You tried everywhere! The seamstress shop, the bakery, even the local butcher shop. Everyone only turned you down or yelled at you to get out. Now what were you going to do? There wasn't a single one who would hire you or wanted to. The very last house you tried declined you again as you stood there looking at him deflated.
"Sorry, Lady. I got all the farmhands I need and it's no job for a woman."
"What am I going to do? I already tried everywhere else in town."
"Have you tried that house up the mountain?"
You blinked looking at the farmer again. "What?"
"Well I heard there's an old house just up the mountain a little bit." He gestured towards the path leading out of town and up the mountain a bit. "I don't know who lives there but maybe they'd like a nice cleaning lady like you."
You perked up at that. "No I haven't tried there yet! Thanks!"
He nodded and you made your way back through town towards the other side. You've never been that way before but at this point you were starting to get very desperate for any job. Even if they said no too, you had to take that chance. You made it through and started up the pathway leading into the mountain side. However you weren't used to it being so steep. The pathway was certainly old and cracked. Lots of plants overgrew it and in some places it was hard to tell where the path was leading. Once or twice you had to stop and lean against a tree to catch your breath before continuing on but eventually you came to a small clearing between trees. And there it was.
A small wooden house in the middle of a clearing. It looked as old as the pathway, almost abandoned. You doubted now if anyone actually lived here but you came all this way so might as well check it out. You slowly approached the home, leaves and sticks crunching under your footsteps as you approached the house slowly. The shadow of the house loomed over you as you approached the nearest window..and wiped some of the dust and dirt away from the window to peer inside. It was dark inside despite the daylight and you could barely make out some old furniture and more dust floating around. Looked like no one lived here for years.
"Never saw you before."
In an instant you jumped smacking your forehead against the window. A hand flew up to clutch at your forehead as you turned around, and you paused coming face to face with red eyes. It was a man. He looked to be somewhere in his early thirties with dark mahogany hair tied up in a ponytail pale skin and red eyes that looked at you. He dressed in a rather ordinary kimono with a green and orange checkered coat hung over his shoulders and a pair of earrings dangling from his ears.
Where did he come from? You stared at him a little bit longer before looking around but saw no signs of anyone else around. After a moment you looked back at him.
"Oh. H-Hello." In an instant that pale face became wide in shock as you smiled at him. "My name is Y/n. Are you the man of the house?"
The man continued to stare at you wide eyed in disbelief. "You can...see me?"
You rose a brow. "Um. Yes, Sir. You're standing right in front of me. Why wouldn't I be able to see you?"
After a moment longer the surprised look disappeared from his face. "I see..Why are you here?"
"I came looking for a job!"
"A job?"
You nodded smiling. "Yes. I couldn't help but notice that your house is rather dirty. I can clean really well! I can also cook, sew, do laundry, and all kinds of things. I think you could use a good cleaning lady!"
He didn't say anything to you for a moment before he hummed again and glanced up at the home in thought. "Well..I suppose it has been a good while since this place has been taken cared of."
You literally up. "So is that a yes?"
He still hummed seeming to think, brows scrunching up. "Well. I can't really pay you. I'm afraid there's no money to my name."
"That's fine!" You held up your hands. "I'll gladly do it for free if I can just have a job. My parents think I can't be self sufficient. If I can show them that I can get a job on my own then they won't marry me off to a complete stranger."
"Oh. Well if it's under those circumstances-" He smiled softly. "-then I suppose you're hired."
"YES! Thank you!" You clapped your hands together before bowing to him. "I promise you won't regret it! I'll come back first thing-" You stopped when you looked back up but the man was completely gone.
You blinked looking left and right, but there wasn't any signs of him. For such a tall man, he could sure move fast. And it was strange. But you were too happy to care! You had finally gotten a job! By the time you got home, it was already very dark and your parents were worried sick about you and demanded to know where you had been to which you gladly told them you had secured a job ALL BY YOURSELF as a cleaning lady to the house just up the mountain.
"Wait. You mean someone's actually living up there?"
"Yes. A man is."
"Huh. I didn't think anyone lived up there since the Kamado family moved away when I was younger."
"Well maybe he moved in after they left. All I know is that I got a job all by myself and I'm going to back first thing tomorrow morning to get started."
Your parents tried to lightly protest about you having the job with a literal stranger, but you shut that down firmly. You got it by yourself and now that man was expecting you to do a job. You weren't just going to ghost him without notice and you weren't going to give your parents leeway to try and sneak in the idea of marriage again.
The very next day you gathered up a lot of cleaning supplies and shoved them into a large basket on your back usually only used by your mother to carry wood in winter, before slinging it over your shoulders and leaving the house with your concerned parents watching as their child made her way up the mountain and towards the stranger's home. The trip up there was the same as yesterday's only you had to stop a few more times to take a break because of the extra weight on your back. Eventually you did make it there, and found the same man from before sitting on the old porch.
He looked to be either meditating or watching the sky before he calmly looked over at you with a smile on his face as you waved to him.
"I'm back like I promised!"
"So you are. And I suppose those are for my home?," he asked nodding towards the basket on your back.
You nodded. "Yep! I'm sure you'll love how everything looks once I'm done with it."
He chuckled at you. "I'm sure you will. You may go ahead and get started at your own pace then. If you have need of anything, I'll be right here."
"Actually there is something. Do you have a well?"
He shook his head. "No but there's a stream just back there that we used for water all the time." He pointed to the woods at the far left.
"Thanks! I'll be getting started then!"
You politely stepped around him to slide the door open- And immediately turned away to start coughing as a giant cloud of dust puffed out from the inside. The man profusely apologized for it as you swatted the air. No. It was fine. You should've expected that considering what you saw yesterday. Instead you sucked it up, dropped the basket on the ground and got to work. Rolling up your sleeves and tying a handkerchief around your mouth and nose.
The first thing you did was open all the doors and windows available before taking the broom and just sweeping at the ceiling and walls to scrub continuously at the build up of cobwebs and dust layered on for who knows how long before using said broom to sweep the pile of dirt out. The man politely stood off to the side and watched you work. Stopping briefly to give a few gulps of fresh air before heading to the ways he pointed out with a large bucket in your arms. Ten minutes later you returned with said bucket except now filled up with water and you used that to scrub down the floor as well as get a cloth wet to wipe the remaining gunk off the walls and what little wooden furniture was left inside before dumping the bucket outside and turning to the watchful man.
"Well what do you think?," you asked with a proud smile throwing one hand into the home.
He peered inside giving a look around the home before smiling wider with a nod. "I think it looks better than it has in a long time."
"Just wait to see what it looks like when I'm completely done with it." You started gathering up your things tossing them back into the giant basket. "I'll come back tomorrow to finish everything else." You heaved the large basket over your shoulders giving him a look. "So I'll see you tomorrow again."
"Sounds wonderful. Do have a safe trip down the mountain. I look forward to your return."
You did return the next day once again. Using this day to clean up the windows, the bathroom, and clean out the old fireplace of ashes. The man was there again and like before only politely watched as you worked off to the side and out of your way as you finished cleaning up the entirety of the inside of his home. Before going back out to the woods and bringing back another bucket of clean water.
"Would you please step off the porch? I'm going to clean that next."
"But of course."
He did so watching as you swept and scrubbed where he'd usually watch you before again you considered your task for the day done. But you didn't go home without offering something else to him.
"I've noticed that there's some repairs needed to the roof and floor of your home. If you'd like I'll fix those too."
He rose his brows in surprise but still smiled. "You know how to do repairs?"
"My father is a carpenter. He makes things and repairs things in my village all the time. I know how to do it too but he'd never let me because I'm a woman."
He hummed. "Well I'm not going to force you but if you'd like to fix my home I won't stop you. But please don't feel obligated to overwork yourself for me."
"Don't worry about me! I want to do it. I'll bring the things I need tomorrow and start on repairing your house!"
"Well if you insist. Please have a safe trip back down the mountain."
You left and came back once again with everything you needed...after sneaking into your father's workshop and borrowing a handsaw, some wood, a hammer, and a lot of other things you'd need to start repairing the home. You're sure your father wouldn't mind since you were working and it's all a part of the job! Only problem was it took longer to get there with the much heavier tools you lugged around. But you made it there eventually and there he was again waiting for you to come back. This time he watched as you repaired things.
The pattern expanded over the course of three weeks as you repaired the front porch, removed cracked floorboards and replaced them, and even fixed the squeaky hinges on the closet door. That meant only the roof was left. You noticed some shingles coming loose but you didn't know the full extent of the damage until you got up there. Luckily he had a ladder when you asked pointing towards the side of the house where you found an old wooden ladder propped up against it. However you noticed something else behind the home when you grabbed it
A rock carved into a specific shape and placed onto the ground. However it wasn't just any ordinary carved stone.
It was a grave stone.
Placed behind the house from sight and standing on the ground. From where you stood you were able to make out a single word carved into it's surface. 'Tanjuro'. You stood there staring at it for a moment.. before deciding it wasn't any of your business and just proceeding to take the ladder where you needed it. Climbing onto the roof, you noticed that actually a LOT of shingles needed to be replaced. Not just a couple like you thought.
Your father was starting to go stir crazy.
"First someone steals a few of my tools and my best wood! Now my entire roofing for the shed vanished within a week!"
"You can always made more, Father."
"Yes but now the construction will have to wait until next spring by the time I finish making enough tiles again."
They didn't expect it was you sneaking out to fill your basket up with tiles and taking them with you to fix the roof of the man's home. You did feel guilty about doing that but with your father busy in his workshop now making more tiles and your mother distracted by the 'thief' coming around your home, both were too distracted to think about marrying you off. So it still worked out for you!
Fixing the roof was an easier task than you first thought it would be. All you had to do was tear out all the old damaged tiles and then replace them all with new ones. Granted it was a longer process than fixing a few cracked floorboards but it was slowly coming together. The old tiles were placed in a pile just in front of the house that you planned on burning once you were done
However one accident nearly costed you all of the hard labor you put in. You'd just finished the VERY last of the roof. You waved down to the man still smiling and watching you from the ground before starting to climb down the ladder. Until you stepped on the fifth ring down-
S N A P-!!!
A loud crack sound filled the air. Your foot fell through the air and your body followed down. You shrieked out as you fell backwards, hands making desperate grabs at the ladder to no avail. And your eyes widened in terror as you stumbled. They slammed closed as you waited for the unforgiving hard feeling of the ground to hit you ...but it never came. In fact..you weren't falling at all. All motion seemed to stop.
We're you dead? Did the impact kill you instantly so you didn't feel pain?
Trembling you slowly opened your eyes.. before blinking at the sight of tree tops and the sky. What the- Looking down you then squealed out realizing that you were in the arms..OF THE MAN. You froze up as he looked down at you in his arms in concern.
WHAT. ON. EARTH. JUST. HAPPENED?!
"Are you alright?" A cold touch on your shoulder made you jump and you jumped as the man who looked at you in concern, his touch was death cold. "You aren't hurt are you?"
You shook your head no shakily and he sighed. "W-What just happened?"
"The gods must've been looking down upon you at the right moment and saved you," he answered calmly. "Thank goodness they did." Your hands tightened their hold on the man's robes (which for some reason was also cold) and he glanced at them. "Here. Come inside and sit down. You need to calm down after that." His cold hold on you slowly turned to your arm as he lowered you to your feet. "Come. I'll make you some tea."
He slowly got you up onto shaking legs and managed to get you inside and seated in a chair. You didn't know how long you sat there..but you knew that your face was completely red. It burnt with a blush as you sat there red faced as the man walked around.. Strangely his footfalls didn't make a sound. The only sounds came from the fire pit when he made the fire and a whistle sound when a kettle got hot.
"Are you alright? Your entire face is red."
You nodded. "Y-Yes. I'm just... flustered."
"Don't be. This kind of accident can happen to anyone."
"N-No. I'm flustered because you held me..A-And you're a very handsome man."
A sound that sounded like a cup being temporary dropped made you look up. The man fumbled for the cup before turning to you wide eyed...and then turning away as his own pale face reddened.
"I-.. Goodness it's been years since anyone told me that."
"I'm sorry. That was probably uncalled for."
"No. It's perfectly okay. I'm not offended." He turned to you with a smile on his pink face and chuckled. "In fact I'm flattered. It's just that no one's called me handsome since my wife."
"Oh. I'm so sorry. My condolences to you."
He chuckled again handing you the cup. "No. She's very much alive. Kie just..moved on is all. Careful. It's hot."
"Oh. Thank you. .. You know I realized something." He hummed. "I've known you for a while but I don't know you're name."
"It's been a while since I told anyone that. It's Tanjuro."
You paused mid sip to stare at him. "Tanjiro?" He nodded. "... That's a nice name."
"Thank you. You've also done enough work for me today, I want you to go home after you drink your tea."
You did. Silently stirring something in your brain as you got home and was silent for a long, long moment before you went to go find your father. Unsurprisingly he was in his workshop making more tiles to replace the ones you stole and didn't look up when you walked in.
"Father?" He hummed. "Just out of curiosity, do you know why the previous family moved out of the house?"
He paused to look at you confused. "Yes actually. Why?"
"I was just curious is all."
He shrugged before going back to the wood he was cutting into pieces. "Well if I remember right, the man who used to live there was very sick and passed away. I think after a year or so his wife moved their children closer to her family, but that was years ago and I didn't know them all too well. It's hard to say for sure."
"Was the man's name Tanjuro by chance?"
"I think it was something like that yes."
"Oh. I see... Thank you."
The next time you went back up the mountain it wasn't with tools, or tiles, or cleaning supplies. It was with a beautiful large bouquet of flowers that you paid the town's florist for. When you arrived at the house, you didn't see Tanjuro. You still didn't stop however until you got to the back of the house and stood in front of the stone. Looking at it for a moment before softly laying the flowers in front of it and turning around to come face to face with red eyes.
Tanjuro smiled sadly staring at the flowers on the ground before slowly looking at you standing there. "...I suppose this means that you know."
"Yes."
"You aren't afraid."
...You smiled back to him. "It's hard to be scared of a handsome ghost."
Again he gave a surprised sound and you giggled as his face turned a pink.
