Modern AUs are fucking delicious. I want to write a fic about Enmu, but as a (human) therapist who is fascinated by the psychology of pain and dreams, so much so that he is tortured by his own fascination and requires his own therapist. I want to write Inosuke being roommates with Tanjirou and Zenitsu and being chaotic as fuck whenever the Kamaboko trio gets together (of course Inosuke is kinda gay for Tanj). I want to write transfem Zenitsu anxiously working at a coffee shop, and dating a nonverbal autistic Nezuko. I think people can tell I'm queer just by looking at this post

Kaidou’s never distracted or caught off-guard! How could the Jet-Black Wings ever be distracted; if he’s not aware of his surroundings, then who will save mankind from the evil fiends known as Dark Reunion?!

Just kidding. Kaidou’s absorbed in playing Dungeons and Dragons after Saiko offhandedly mentioned it while whining about peasant games, so his attention might’ve slipped the littlest bit. And that gives you the chance to swoop in and attack him while he’s unaware. At first, you’d just been walking by, no mischief planned but Kaidou’s concentrated face was so cute you couldn’t help yourself!

Sneaking behind him, gently grabbing his face and reveling in his surprised squeak before pressing a kiss to his cheek. You’re running off, done with your plans, listening to Kaidou’s halfhearted whines about “What if he’d used his powers on you because he thought you were Dark Reunion.”

Saiki’s wearing his germanium ring for once. This is a golden opportunity, a once in a lifetime chance that would probably never drop at your feet again. He’d wanted to watch a movie – it’s a mystery, so having the ring on was the only way to prevent thoughts with spoilers from ruining his mood.

As for you… you’d been planning how to kiss Saiki. See, kissing Saiki when he’s aware is very nice – you do it quite often. But kissing Saiki when he’s off-guard and watching the rare blush bloom on his face was something you desperately wanted to do.

“Don’t you think it’s a nice movie?” Saiki’s speaking out loud for once; you nod absentmindedly, eyes zeroing on his cheek. Saiki turns around, ads finally finished, and you strike – nearly toppling over as you lean into his seat and kiss him on the cheek.

“Are you serious?—” you laugh and kiss him again because why not?

Tanjirou’s on night watch. You weren’t lucky enough to find a kind stranger to take you in for the night, so now you’re stuck in “creepy, haunted” woods as Zenitsu puts it. You’re surprised Zenitsu’s gone to sleep after whining for so long, but Zenitsu (and Inosuke) are out like a light. The only reason you’re awake and not resting (like Tanjirou insists you should) is because your boyfriend looks very cute when he’s focused on keeping you all safe.

“You should go to sleep.” Tanjirou’s facing you, eyes glancing around from time to time.

You shake your head in the negative – your shift is in the next hour, if you nap now you’ll just be exhausted when the time comes. “Let me give you a hug for good luck.” At your words, Tanjirou grins, spreading out his hands. You walk over to him, arms outstretched.

You don’t hug hm. Instead, you kiss his cheek, delighting in Tanjirou’s surprise and laughter.

“You don’t have to surprise me to kiss me, you know?”

You laugh, “eh, I want to.”

“Is there a problem Kaidou?” You ask him sweetly. Kaidou can’t say anything, entranced (perhaps Dark Reunion is possessing you) because you’re holding his hand.

“Uh—no, no not all.” His tongue is in his throat, but you act like nothing is strange, like its normal for you to grab his hand and just… swing it around like you own it…

Not that Kaidou minds. It’s just uh—suspicious. That’s all. It’s nice. Maybe Dark Reunion is trying to lull him into a false sense of security so they can catch him unaware! No matter how nice this is, he’s not going to give in because the world needs him—

Huh? Did you kiss his hand? Kaidou recoils like he’s been shot; not that he can get far because you’re still holding his hand. He’s practically out of it, floating on cloud nine. Dark Reunion might have won just this once.

Kamado Tanjirou

------

“Is your hand cold?” It had been getting cold lately and not everyone’s Inosuke – capable of going anywhere shirtless. If you want, he could offer you his haori (even if you are already wearing yours)—

“No.” You smile, clenching his hand even harder just because you can. Okay. Intimacy is nice, always appreciated; though he hadn’t expected you’d grab his hand.

“Thank you.” Your hand in his provides a sense of comfort Tanjirou hadn’t known he needed despite his growing affection towards you. He’s truly happy to have you by his side.

“You’re welcome.” In a faux gentleman manner, you raise his hand towards your lips and place a kiss. For a few seconds, the world can be perfect (and if Tanjirou tunes out Zenitsu and Inosuke’s bickering a bit more, it can last for a few minutes). And then, of course, Zenitsu spoils the mood by complaining about “PDA”.

Saiki Kusuo

------

Saiki knows you want to hold his hand. At first, your thoughts had been normal, but it had suddenly transitioned into: “I want to hold Saiki’s hand right now.”. It was oddly demanding with no rhyme or reason behind it. You wanted to catch him by surprise just because you could.

Saiki could’ve stopped you from holding his hand – but why would he do that? It’s nice. Your smile is oddly victorious even though you don’t comment on it; sue Saiki for being happy that the simple act of holding his hand had made you so proud.

“Is there a reason you’re holding onto my hand?” There isn’t, but he still wants to hear you admit it. That’s the better option – if he plays his cards wrong, you’ll be frightened into letting go. And if you do let go (and Saiki still wants to hold your hand, he’d have to initiate affection. Yikes.

“Not at all.” You turn around to face him, smiling at him like you’re daring him to say anything else. He raises his eyebrow at you; not that it matters, Saiki makes no moves to escape your grasp. “Any other questions?”

No reply. You laugh, raising his hand and kissing it as a sort of thanks (and to have bragging rights later on – who can say they held Saiki’s hand and kissed it?)
