Why is this song featured on this blog:

Mikoto Kayano (the character shown in this video) canonically has DID- Which has been confirmed by other characters in this series. Although the topic of ableism surrounds this character, we have personally interpreted this as John (the only other named alter) protecting Mikoto from an abusive work environment. However this is made clearer in this songs sequel- Double.

I think that (vocal wise) this song is a masterpiece, the way that the softer vocals of Mikoto contrast with the harsher vocals of his alter, John, and even mix together towards the end, is a masterful way to show DID and the way alters can blur together.

“In the role of Riddle I had to remain elegant at all times, but with the overblot and all the crying it was very difficult―I had to put in as much emotion as I could, from deep in my heart, into every line.

There was one part where the line was something like the sound “Ugiiiii!!!!”, which was a reference to the original movie, so I used the original recording as a reference. I like screaming, so it was a lot of fun.”
