System songs: Call Me Simon by Corroid ft Oliver
youtube
"You don't exist // You're only a dream // Why do you insist? // You will vanish like steam."
-
Trigger warnings for this song and video:
The video very slowly zooms in on the eye shown above.
The music has repetition of phrases.
The lyrics deal with topics around identity confusion, and denial.
-
Why is this song featured on this blog:
The producer has stated 'This song is mainly about dissociative identity disorder (DID) / self-reflection, but you can interpret it as you wish ;)'
The characters in this song are two alters called 'Corroid' and 'Simon' and the lyrics seem to indicate the differences between the two and how they communicate.

System songs: Double by Mikoto Kayano (CV: Hanae Natsuki)
youtube
"Hey, you're overdoing it, you're already broken // But if you persist, it's my job to find balance // Me, the other you // Will carry everything on my shoulders."
-
Trigger warnings for this song and video:
'Killer alter' trope is shown (although however you view this with the limited information we have is up to you)
The video shows multiple 'murders' of wooden puppets and blood, alongside flashing images.
The music is loud.
The lyrics deal with topics around anger and denial, thoughts around not wanting to exist (briefly).
-
Why is this song featured on this blog:
Mikoto Kayano (the character shown in this video) canonically has DID- Which has been confirmed by other characters in this series. Although the topic of ableism surrounds this character, we have personally interpreted this as John (the only other named alter) protecting Mikoto from an abusive work environment.
This song, much like the first song has very good vocal rage and differences between which alter is singing. I think this song shows a more protective side of John and portrays him as more human.

Note
I just found this blog, it's wonderful. I'm not sure if it has been submitted yet, but I would like to submit "Double" by Deco*27 from the MILGRAM series. It follows Mikoto, who is confirmed to have DID. Although it does have the whole "murderous alter", I find the writing of it actually interesting-- it makes it clear John (the alter shown) is intentionally trying to protect Mikoto. There's also the previous song in the series, "MeMe", but I feel like "Double" hits especially well.
Hi anons both of these songs have been put in the q!
We collectively love milgram so have been meaning to do these songs, we appreciate the submissions!

System songs: MeMe by Mikoto Kayano (CV: Hanae Natsuki)
youtube
"You don’t have to keep it in and hide it away // “I” will save “me” // Snuggle together and say “Good night” // Switch, Shake up that brain."
-
Trigger warnings for this song and video:
'Killer alter' trope is shown (although however you view this with the limited information we have is up to you)
The video shows a murder and the clean up of this.
The music is loud.
The lyrics deal with topics around confusion, anger.
-
Why is this song featured on this blog:
Mikoto Kayano (the character shown in this video) canonically has DID- Which has been confirmed by other characters in this series. Although the topic of ableism surrounds this character, we have personally interpreted this as John (the only other named alter) protecting Mikoto from an abusive work environment. However this is made clearer in this songs sequel- Double.
I think that (vocal wise) this song is a masterpiece, the way that the softer vocals of Mikoto contrast with the harsher vocals of his alter, John, and even mix together towards the end, is a masterful way to show DID and the way alters can blur together.

System songs: Fruiting Bodies by R.I.P (Really Introverted Producer) FT Gumi
youtube
Something’s wrong with the form of my identity // Suddenly, I’m coming to // I am not in the body that was meant for me // Tell me what I am supposed to do
-
Trigger warnings for this song and video:
Both lyrics and video contain mushrooms and body horror.
The video contains a lot of distorted visuals alongside flashing and strobing lights.
The music is also quite loud and possibly disorientating.
The lyrics mention scratching and could be paranoia inducing.
-
Why is this song featured on this blog:
This song has a lot of interesting lyrics that could relate to a CDD and the feelings of having other versions of yourself (or something other) 'growing under your skin'.

System songs: 粛清マーチ (The Purge March) by Amane Momose (CV: Minami Tanaka)
youtube
You’re sorry? I don’t care! Please, go ahead and die already // Remember MY cries, MY repents, MY words of “I’m sorry” that I said to you?
-
Trigger warnings for this song and video:
Both lyrics and video revolve around cults and child abuse.
The video shows many forms of child abuse including: Drowning, electrocution, animal (cat) killing.
The lyrics deal with topics around violence and repeating phrases.
At the end of the video Amane (the implied to be system character) kills her abuser.
-
Why is this song featured on this blog:
Although the status of Amane's system is heavily debated, I personally can't see her as anything other than a system due to the video and personal bias.
I will note that her system is mostly shown in the video and outside of this (in a voice drama). In the lyrics 'we' is used, but in my opinion, it is used to resemble the teachings her cult would tell her.

System songs: 十面相 (Ten-faced) by HY
youtube
Multiple personality disorder? Me? Why are you smiling?
-
Trigger warnings for this song and video:
The lyrics deal with topics around abandonment from a man who doesn't respect them as a 'whole' (Ie 'I can only love one of you.').
-
Why is this song featured on this blog:
Ten faced is one of the first ever songs I heard featuring someone who is explicitly stated to have DID.
In my opinion the song has aged, but it still holds a special place in my heart.

System songs: Identity Disorder by Of Mice and Men
youtube
"I question every part of who I am // It's hard to tell which side of me is in the right // With these two different people inside of me fighting for my life."
-
Trigger warnings for this song and video:
The video contains a lot of flashing lights.
The lyrics deal with topics around identity confusion and abandonment.
-
Why is this song featured on this blog:
This songs lyrics seem to be about someone with an unspecified 'identity disorder' which means they often say contradicting information, or simply lie about who they are.

System songs: in this unstable world by Yoshiko/Yohane Tsushima (CV: Kobayashi Aika)
youtube
A different me from yesterday gives a different answer today // If no is yes, then yes is no? It all depends on my mood // Ah, I'm certain there's more "me's" that I have yet to know
-
Trigger warnings for this song and video:
Nothing I can think of
-
Why is this song featured on this blog:
In the anime which Yoshiko is from, it is shown that she has an 'alternative persona' called Yohane, who 'takes over' and acts and sounds significantly different to her 'human self' Yoshiko.
Although debatable if this could be the result of them being a system, this song is about how Yoshiko and Yohane will one day meet and 'create a miracle' once they do. The lyrics refers to them as 'you' and 'me' and switch between who takes on each pronoun.
As quoted from an official source: '[this song] imagines what future awaits Yoshiko Tsushima and the multiple characters that make up her (Yoshiko, Yohane, etc.).'

System songs: 幻影 (Mirage) by Harumaki Gohan featuring Hatsune Miku
youtube
"Who are you? Who am I? // Where is the real heart? // Who are you? Who am I? // Vaguely, I tried coming up with the answers."
-
Trigger warnings for this song and video:
The video contains flashing lights and bright eye strain based colors. There is also imagery surrounding eyes and slight body horror.
The lyrics deal with topics around identity confusion.
-
Why is this song featured on this blog:
This song portrays a girl who repeatedly creates different 'mirages' of herself and deals with issues around discovering what parts of her are 'real'.
Although (if I remember correctly) this song is apart of a series, and the story links to this series, I still think it's a good song which I personally link to my experience with DID.

-
Disclaimers:
You may not personally relate to all the songs here- However that doesn't mean someone is 'wrong' for submitting a song. Unless we deem that there is no way a song links to CDD or trauma, a wide variety of songs will be featured here
Songs with 'bad rep' (ie a system who kills someone) and/or medical inaccuracies will most likely be featured here. There may be songs here that you personally find upsetting. We will be trigger tagging each song for anything that could be upsetting rep wise.
We do not claim that the creators of these songs are a system unless stated otherwise. This should go without saying but do not harass or pressure any artist here to look into CDD's. That would be very annoying and upsetting for a lot of regular people, not just music artists. Even if you suspect something, just leave it alone.
If we post any song that is by an artist who is 'problematic' and there is irrefutable proof of this, then we will remove the song. Please note that we don't know every artist ever, please be polite when informing us about any issues.
All songs will be tagged, however if we miss any trigger tags then please let us know. We will also try and trigger tag flashing lights and loud noises. This goes for anything featured on this blog, including music videos.
This blog has no set DNI, however TERF's, radqueers and proshippers will be blocked on sight. In regards to syscourse, we are unwilling to get involved. However, we won't consider posting songs linking to non traumagenic systemhood due to personal experience.
