Sooo.... Centipede tango... We know you're currently writing the reveal fic (which I love so so much) but what are some other close calls he's had?
Ohhh, this is an interesting question!
One thing about Tango, He thinks he is slick He is not
Every injury he gets that doesn't go directly to a respawn let's a mark.
So a lot of times he would be with other hermits and get injured by something, he then would give a really bad excuse and nope out of there.
The thing is, Tango isn't a liar's master mind, he is good at lying? Yes. He has the experience.
But the Hermits Know Tango very well and they respect him and his boundaries.
This is something that I am trying to leave very implicitly in the fic: Tango at this point is very vocal about not wanting to be touched or seen without his heavy clothes. The only part of skin that you can see within CTT outfit is his face that he plaster with make up to hide his undeadnes and the hermits respect that, when his clothes are torn or something happens that he has to switch clothes even if it is his gloves, everyone tries to not look close, and as Tango doesn't react to pain in his decoy body, is easy to him to find a escuse and go stable himself in a sad hole (or in newer times, go pester Cleo to fix him)
I think another thing you could consider a close call would be every time this man goes to do redstone lol. As he has the habit of letting his decoy body sprawled in the floor while doing redstone, but normally it doesn't get too long for him to go back to it, decked out fucked with his sleep schedule more than he cares to admit and because of it now we are here (::
Thank you for the ask! I love talking about CTT and I am more than eager to respond to things here on Tumblr! Have a nice day!

Most people assume Grian hoards shiny objects because he's an avian. He hoards, yes, but no shiny objects.
He hoards many things, and these things are liable to change. He has hoarded:
-Chickens (no, it was the man in the chicken costume)
-Parrots (PESKY BIRB)
-Cats (the bird man is a cat person)
-Mumbo's clothes (he gave up on getting any of it back)
-Scar's clothes (Cuddles are offered to get the clothes back)
-Pearl's clothes (she hoarded Grian's clothes in retaliation)
-Impulse's clothes (Tango tried to fight him on this)
-Keralis' clothes (there is suspicion that Keralis has been encouraging it)
-Xisuma's clothes (at least 4 hermits were surprised that Xisuma had actual clothes)
-Xisuma's armour (somehow since he never takes it off)
-Everybody's comms (they got them back through yelling instead of texting)
-Boatem (Tango and Gem tried to fight him on this)
-Robots (I'm not counting how many robots Grian has created or helped create)
-Creatures from nightmares (Lizzie counts for some reason)
-Redstone (he then tried to copy Mumbo and eat it, that was one sick bird)
-Pearl's cooking stuff (he doesn't want anymore soup!)
-Jimmy (as in, he broke the server code just to do it, and Tango tried to fight him again)
-Eggs (no one was even mildly surprised by that, they were surprised by the vicious biting)
That's all I can think of but there was definitely more.

Tango did a lot of research on avian culture and mating rituals (it was a very uncomfortable conversation for Grian), so he knew the significance of gifting of feathers. He came to the conclusion that it was like marriage. He also knew how important the feather was to the avian.
being the blaze hybrid that he is, Tango was terrified when Jimmy gave him a feather. Jimmy had to reassure him many times that he wanted Tango to have the feather in the first place and then reassure Tango that it would be okay if something happened and he had to give another feather. Tango was scared that he'd accidentally burn it or lose it or destroy it somehow but Jimmy just kept telling him that he'd give him another if something happened.
The first time he lost Jimmy's feather, He fell in lava, which didn't hurt him but turned the feather into ashes. Tango got home, nearly in tears that he'd accidentally destroyed Jimmy's feather but Jimmy assured him that it was okay and just gave Tango another feather and a special piece to turn it into an ear ring so it wouldn't disintegrate in shallow lava.

Mumbo is a vampire who’s somehow managed to keep this a secret from nearly everybody because they assume he’s just Like That. He drinks fire resistance potions every morning? He’s a Brit, he’ll get a mean sunburn if he doesn’t! Caught drinking blood? He’s just nibbling on some redstone dust again, wouldn’t be the first time (it isn’t. They constantly catch him drinking blood and they ALL assume he’s eating redstone. He does eat redstone, but that’s just because he’s Mumbo. Xisuma, as we know, is the first to make this mistake.) I’m sure there’s more but I can’t think rn
Mumbo thinks they know, he doesn't try to hide it. He drinks blood, it should be clear.
He's even turned into a bat in front of Tango before. but Tango thought he died to a Stalagmite and a Bat just happened to be there.

For CTT, I have SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!
how did tango learn to consider himself a monster?
His subspecies description says that his type of false spine doesn't kill their host, but rather finds an already dead body, how did the body die?
From what I gather, false spines are fairly solitary. Does tango even know his species? If so, how? What does he know?
Ohhh keep asking I am all here for it!
I will respond to this a little out of order if you permit me.
At first I just wanted to note, that I am very bad at updating my notes lol, so some things I said In earlier posts may be debunked in the future(I have a lot of things planned, but as this is an AU, new ideas sometimes come and I find them better than old ones)
When I say that the False-Spine spine doesn't kill their host, this is a big exaggeration of the word "kill", because well yes they first find a dead body, but they carry the zombie virus, So they kinda of kill entire civilizations, without direct Killing it. Then they just feast in the bodies and Live in the one they find most comfortable.
(One thing that I have to do, but I can only do in a computer and always forget, is slightly edit that text that talks about the False-Spine, It was very early in the brain rot that I wrote it, and I feel like it doesn't reflect the entire scope of the species now)
Are the False-Spine spine a solitary species? I think you can say that yes. When an infestation of False-Spine happens, normally it starts with two or three False-spines, but they don't act in colony like let me say bees, they just get together for procreation purposes and then leave to do their own things, AK. Eat, sleep and repeat (Like hamsters)
Did Tango ever met another False-Spine? Thank god no. The next thing I am gonna say is a slight spoiler for chapter 4 so be aware.
SPOILER FOR CHAPTER 4 STARTES HERE (I will put a note where it ends)
As I said this is something that will be revealed in CTT Chapter 4 (That I am writing for more than 1 month at this point and getting slightly crazed because it doesn't end It's almost done all I need to do is write the last pov)
False-Spine are a terrifying mob because the way they transform players in Zombies as a way of gathering food is by scrambling the player code, fucking with it and doing Irreparable damage to them.
Tango may be a False-spine, but He is a player nonetheless, The False-Spine are not an intelligent mob at all, the first thing a wild nom player False-spine would do meeting Tango is looking direct at his code(the equivalent of his soul) and then straight up try to kill him.
SPOILER FOR CHAPTER 4 END HERE
The only information Tango has of his own species are reports from other people, and it doesn't paint a good picture at all.
Okay now for the last one
How did Tango learn to consider himself a monster?
Ohh this is a fun one.
Before I start Talking about this, I just want to say: I pretend to write a one shot about this in the future, but as I don't have anything written or even a date to start writing, I will not mark this as spoilers.
In my master post I mentioned that Tango spent a lot of time in single player worlds trying to learn how to be a player, but what I evade to say is what happened before this.
Tango Spawned in a residential World
(quick world building: A residential world is a multiplayer world where players live in groups like you would in a city in real life)
Tango Spawned in an era where the Nom-Human player movements in search for equality are all time big and this makes those that are more vocal about their bigotry against their existence become even more aggressive.
One thing I have to mention too is that players live a fucking long time, like a lot. So all of this happened a long time ago and don't reflect anymore with widespread view in the regular hubs, nowadays nom-humans make 80% of the population, but it was not the case when Tango first came to be.
So Tango first had to adapt to being a freshly spawned player in a world that is very vocal against his existence and as his spawn is practically a glitch by the way he spawned. He spawned in a no spawn world, It was not supposed to players spawn there at all (just be born, because there is no great code fix for it), so because of that he became homeless for some time, until someone (A bug hybrid AK. The only oc I dared make for CTT) took pity on him and put him inside her house and taught him about what being a Bug player means, their sounds, their greetings. (Even if Tango isn't the same as her, she adopted him in her culture), she too is the one who taught him how to do make up, and how to hide (because it was needed to survive).
Basically he first had contact with someone that is a Bug player and is proud of what she is. So how did he come to hate himself? Well, she died. They were attacked and she died protecting him. It is after this that he goes to his single player words, where he internalized the guilty, the anger, and without someone to talk he put it all in himself, because if they were normal human players, she would be alive and he would not be alone. So he learns how to be human, how to hide and how to lie. And when he goes back to the multiplayer scenario, no one knows what he really is and he prefers it that way.
And I think this is all for now! Thx for asking and engaging with brain rot!

I see you do headcanons so I'll give you about a million ranchers head canons bc they've taken over my brain.
-they take turns taking care of the animals and fields. Like one will take care of the animals while the other takes care of the fields and then they alternate days.
-they both live to cuddle so especially on cold days, they live to cuddle under a nice fluffy blanket while Tango keeps them warm and Jimmy wraps his wings around them to keep the warmth in.
-Tango likes spicy food bc the spice doesn't really bother him while Jimmy can't stand spicy food so they'll sometimes have different dinners. Also sometimes if Tango has something super spicy, Jimmy won't let him kiss him for a few hours bc his mouth will be spicy.
- Tango is mildly allergic to water so it'll just make his skin kinda itchy and uncomfortable so if they're outside and it suddenly starts raining, Jimmy will shield Tango with his wing.
- Jimmy gets free "Dungeon Lackey" things in decked out bc Tango just wants to play his game with his bf
- Jimmy regularly uses Tango as a stove.
-in addition, if Tango gets too angry, Jimmy will just take a frying pan and an egg and put it on Tango's head and it'll immediately confuse Tango and get him out of his anger
I have more but I don't wanna add too many to one ask
<3
I answered this instead of doing homework -⭐️ 😭😭😭

Thinking about one of tango’s comments in his secret life session three
Talking about his red eyes and saying it was because of working with redstone so long, it seeps in
Taking this joke comment and running with it for my headcanon based off the fact redstone is radioactive in education edition that all the redstoners have some kind of red tainting one or more of their eyes
Tango’s eyes turned red over the years, doc’s mechanical eye was damaged by redstone, etho was injured in some kind of redstone incident hence his scar and red eye, zedaph used to have blue eyes but they turned purple bc of redstone exposure, and impulse… I haven’t figured out yet

One time in s9 the Hermits decided to have a sleepover for an entire week, and it went horribly wrong. They chose Gem’s castle because the only other Hermits who offered their base was Tango (Deepfrost Citadel is an amazing build, but not exactly a good place to spend the night), and Doc (no one wanted to sleep on bedrock or anywhere near Doc’s machines).
On the first day Evil X somehow showed up, completely uninvited. Nobody really questioned it, and he wasn’t the one causing the biggest problems, so everything was chill with him.
A few Hermits kept vanishing for a few hours, and all of them refused to explain what happened. Etho was the only one who had it happen to him multiple times — but no one paid as much attention to his disappearances because he already wanders off a lot after sunset.
Bdubs yelled at everyone every night to shut up and let him sleep, Grian kept leaving hissing creeper plushies everywhere to scare people, Cub tracked in some sculk, Impulse accidentally discovered the murder basement, and Tango ended up sleeping in the fireplace instead of a sleeping bag.
Also no one really wanted to eat at Gem’s dinner table, especially not with the armor stands wearing Etho heads sitting around it.
All in all, everyone died at least twice, they all kept finding feathers and ash in their clothes for an entire month afterwards, and no one wants to have another sleepover like that ever again.
X and Joe have recently started planning for another one in season 10.

Tango is always wrapping his tail around different parts of Jimmy, mostly his leg bc they stand weirdly close together when they talk to people. Tango also does this to reassure Jimmy that he's there for him no matter what
Jimmy isn't as prone to initiating physical contact but he will 100% wrap his wings around Tango, mostly to protect him. Jimmy does this whenever he wants. most of the time it doesn't include touching. Jimmy blocks Tango from anything that makes him even slightly uncomfortable from wind to people

The hybrids and players from the Nether, End, or Aether don’t really get Overworld Customs and Holidays.
Those dimensions are static in their climate, so any seasonal markings weren’t commonplace. Let’s just say, on their first time on the server, a good portion of the server was really alarmed by the world cooling down, freezing, and dying, while everyone was putting up bright colourful lights as all the plant life dies. Even today, they aren’t used to it.
In dimensions without seasons, celebrations tend to revolve around personal or community milestones; the Nether and End don't even really have day and night, making measuring time difficult. All the more reason to have patterns to one's life that *can* be measured... but a little startling when familiar patterns get disrupted by, say, leaves dying and falling off of trees! It's especially disconcerting to hybrid players who have lived in the Nether most of their lives, as they're used to constant warmth (and "plants" that mostly don't have bits that can fall off of them).
Netherborn habits are part of why Tango built Decked Out 2. Despite having lived with the hermits for a while, he still has a hard time seeing the appeal of winter; building a frosty fortress was his way of exploring the good things about cold and snow, and finding his own things to celebrate and count within it - marking time by number of dungeon runs; celebrating wins and discoveries; introducing new challenges and milestones. All things that someone from a relatively timeless dimension would typically single out to make a day for!
On the other end of the scale, Jevin is an Overworld player through and through. In the presence of many species, from many places, he kicks up his own holiday celebrations a notch or two, to make sure everyone knows what the winter holidays are about, and knows they're welcome to be involved.
