Alpha and Omega Earth Sova Dynamic + Sova Lore Yap Session B)

Saw a post floating around talking about the dynamic between Alpha and Omega agents and how omega agents being labelled automatically evil is kinda stupid. Because no, they're NOT evil. They're Omega's Earth's last hope of survival. They're the heroes, much like how our Alpha agents are the heroes of Alpha Earth for standing up to this bizarre threat. It leads to a fun grey area that is not explored at all. I hope it gets some love in the future, but for now, character development is more important for the game.

That post got me thinking about my own HCs and interpretations of A and O Sova. I rly got into exploring elements of the Alpha and Omega aspects of the game's story due to me shipping Owling (Sova/Sova) but it suddenly became a really fun thing to dive into. It's going to be a long post, so for those who kinda want the TLDR, the img below has a summarized ver of my HCs for A and O Sova's dynamic. Also, these are just my personal thoughts on the character and it's definitely not me trying to sell these HCs as canon or the closest truth we can get to on Sova's lore. Riot please write more shit for this guy I'm begging you. At least explain his stupid eye or his old alias I'm on my hands and knees bros.

Grab some snacks and bevvies for the big wall of unedited hyperfixation fueled yap under the cut. I'll also include my thoughts on ASova/OSova, but I will mostly be discussing their dynamics and stuff outside of the topic of shipping.

Initially, Owling started as a fun indulgent cloneship that had no rhyme or reason, but the literal next thought I had was treating the ship like some kind of character study based off my HCs of him. The then evolved to become a journey of Sova learning to love himself, literally and metaphorically, however incomplete he may be.

As mentioned in my chart, the Sovas are true clones of each other, mirrors. Their major life events are similar but the outcomes are different as well as the way they choose to interact with the people in their lives and the world. This therefore creates small differences in their 'perfect mirror-like' likenesses.

Sova Lore + HCs in General

My ASova headcanons are as described in my little chart. I feel like the Sova we get presented is very work-oriented whose past was shaped by his time in the military. It may very well be all he had had when he was younger. Perhaps it was what he turned to for direction in his life. I don't really have a solid headcanon for his upbringing, I'm mostly tossing several ideas around because they all seem very possible depending on how I want to picture Sova. Currently I lean more towards his parents being too busy to raise their son and therefore handed him over to his babushka to be cared for and raised. They still exist in his life, but their absences had made a significant impact on his psyche. He believes if he becomes someone useful, someone whose work was meaningful and worthy of praise, perhaps his parents would regard him more tenderly, their visits would be more purposeful, there would be reason to see their son other than obligation. He wishes to be useful not just for the sake of his parents, but for his babushka who is old and frail but has taken great pains and burdens to raise him to the best of her ability. Sova turned to the military for it was a respectable line of work. You serve the country and therefore its people, it seems a perfect fit for him who had much affinity for physical skills (hunting and general fitness). Not only that, the military would be good for him, for he need not think about his pains and troubles. The strict drills and constant orders would give him little time to dwell on his sorrows or whatever ails him. Even if his heart is lost, at the very least he has orders to follow, his path would straighten out for him as long as someone was telling him what he should be doing. In regards to his old callsign 'Filin', I'm sticking to the generally accepted HC that it's his old callsign from whatever military company he was in before Valo. As for his experiences then, my thoughts aren't too lengthy. It was a normal job experience, but he was very much just a machine there. A good obedient soldier. However, a mishap in one of his missions cost him his right eye. He continued to serve despite the injury and forced himself to remain useful to the company.

As a result of such life experiences, the Sova we see today can easily be described as a straight-laced man with strict morals who works to live. From what little trivia we have of him, he definitely has hobbies and interests outside of work. He likes hunting, photography that leans towards nature as it's focus. From his voicelines, we can gather that Sova is actually a really friendly and loving guy. He is vocal about his love for his babushka, he praises his teammates often, and he always seems ready to jump in the line of fire for his teammates if it means saving them (and by proxy, the mission). This kindness extends even to those he shouldn't extend it to, namely OSova, who is the enemy. Can you imagine sparing the guy who is invading your earth? Giving them a second chance? I feel like it's more than just some good samaritan thing/altruism, but there is unfortunately no reason given from Riot so far.

With all that knowledge of him, I interpret Sova as a person who is kind, friendly and full of desire to do good. But he has a lot of personal struggles under the hood that he pushes away in order to service others, in order to continue to be seen as a 'good soldier', to be seen as useful. His life outside of work is lackluster, his personality centered around being an asset. He struggles to properly care for himself mentally and emotionally, but is very good at sweeping everything under the rug and calling on his 'work mode' to 'solve' these issues. They don't exist now that a gun's in his hands and his boots on the field. His personal troubles will leave him, like the arrows that fly from his bow, like the bullets that race towards his target's head. The only grounding things in his life are: - His babushka loves him - He's a damn good shot with the gun and the bow - He's an excellent soldier, amazing at his job

Sova, you are miserable in your excellence.

For all his amicable nature and good intentions for others, he hardly shows the same courtesy to himself.

And finally, I yap about OSova.

Omega Sova

OSova is almost everything ASova isn't. - He is less of a workaholic (he very much works to live, but not as intensely as ASova). - He is more open to others and therefore his relationships with the Valo protocol and others in general are much more intimate and closer. As a result, his dynamic with his Cypher is also a lot less charged and they actually get along. - He is more in touch with his emotions and is tackling his fears and problems. Very unlike ASova who is avoidant.

I like to think of OSova as a representation of what a slightly healthier Sova would be. A version of Sova who is trying to improve his mental health and his relationships. He's not the 'Perfect' version of Sova, he too, is still very flawed. But he is happier, is mentally healthier and lives a generally more fulfilling life because he is actually putting effort into himself, trying to be whole.

Personal HCs on their first encounter

When ASova meets OSova for the first time, obviously nothing meaningful goes down because they gotta kill each other. But personally, I think on one occasion, ASova gets curious about his mirror self. He wonders if their lives are truly mirror-perfect reflections of each other. And he steals OSova's eye. He cuts along the familiar eye scar but cuts an additional line for he dislikes that they look exactly alike and the scar mysteriously remains permanent (this is just for my enjoyment and definitely has no real supporting rhyme or reason lol). He doesn't give the eye to KJ despite her expressing interest in it, for this is a personal selfish matter. What he finds shocks him, for OSova lives a very different life from him. And he grows angry for he is... jealous. His mirror self seemed to be living a beautiful life as compared to him and he wants to know why. He needs to learn more, needs to collect more intel. There has to be a reason his mirror self is enjoying things he doesn't seem to have himself despite being a good and useful person on his earth. Therefore, in addition to being his enemy at work, he cannot spare OSova ever again. He needs his eye. He needs to know.

AOSova Interactions HCs

It is natural that the Sovas are hostile to each other, for they are enemies. But OSova is surprised at how vicious and almost predator-fierce his mirror is with hunting him down and killing him. Sometimes it feels like ASova kills him with more brutality than necessary for whatever reason. When OSova is cornered and most definitely dead, it seems like ASova seems to go out on a limb to kill him in a more vicious way or uses excess effort to take his mirror out. OSova, being Sova, who has a soft heart and an inherent sense of kindness, tries to speak to ASova before he is killed again. But of course, ASova, who is blinded by his envy and hard driven by his soldier's duty to kill his enemy, doesn't let him talk. But eventually, one day, he does. And OSova questions their likenesses. Are they truly clones? He didn't know he was quite so fearsome, quite so merciless and cold. ASova finally allows OSova to speak, and suddenly, he realizes that they are so much more different than what he has seen. ASova also comes to realize that perhaps, in this big wide world and beyond, maybe his enemy, his 'evil' self, is the only one who can truly help him understand his pain.

It is not a pleasant thought, but that thought will soon disappear when his hunting knife goes through OSova's heart.

Sova Learns To Love Himself + Owling (Sova/Sova) Elements (Cont. from AOSova Interactions)

Teehee my fav part... If you so desire, this can be read as platonic as I've removed romantic elements.

The sauce for Owling in this sense comes from the fact that ASova believes that OSova is the only one in the world, this universe, that will understand his pain and accept him no matter what. Because they're Sova. They're supposed to be one and the same, right? Also because OSova has extended an extremely kind hand towards him over and over despite ASova mercilessly killing him time and time again without allowing him to even get a word or so in. OSova forgives this, for they both know they're 'both good soldiers who carry out orders no matter what'. And the orders are obviously to eliminate their enemies, their mirrors. ASova was just doing as he was told, and OSova holds no grudge. Hell, he probably even respects him for staying so loyal.

After OSova finally gets a word in, the pair often try to meet up secretly whenever they encounter each other on a mission to talk. It's mostly ASova talking, sharing his burdens with his copy, hoping to learn what the hell is he not doing right that OSova is. He too, wishes to live happily, much like how OSova seems to be living. OSova comforts his mirror. It is awkward initially, for what does one do when you enemy and mirror self comes at you, killing you viciously one day and then crying into your shoulder the next? But as they chat, OSova feels much pity for his copy. He wishes he could be happy, too. As much happiness their current situation allows. I'll skip over a lot of the story I've thought of for the both of them because this textpost is an ungodly length already. But, the most important interaction they will have, is that, one day, OSova reassures ASova that no matter what happens, no matter what becomes of them both, that he accepts him as he is. For they both deserve it. And if no one else will, it's ok. OSova will love ASova instead. Unfortunately, for it is still a time of war between Alpha and Omega earth, they can't both leave the field alive. And so, for now, one of them will have to go. Until their next encounter, then. But at least this time, ASova leaves with the reassurance that he can be loved. Even if it's only love from himself, he has it.

Ok I'm Done Now

And that's the end of the yap sesh phew LOL. I've left out a billion things but it's like 3am and I can't be here forever... I hope my point came across clearly enough and that any weird inconsistencies or holes in my thinking aren't too nasty because my ass aint gonna beta/edit this shit. DDLV Headcanon/Theory

Unsure if this has been said before. But I’m new to this game and the fandom. Been obsessed with Disney’s Dreamlight Valley for the past month. And I have a hc about the lore surrounding our Mc and our connection to Dreamlight Valley and our powers. I believe that not only we have access to it and not necessarily its sole creator due to the fact Mc is a descendant and/or is Atlantian (this part can be personally decide for the player but in some capacity we are tied to Atlantis!)

And that the reference that Merlin makes along with some other characters about the ancient runes and ruins all over the valley about previous inhabitants, alludes that we have a connection to them. It’s just that Dreamlight Valley is the only stable middle place that is connecting the surface world and Atlantis’ hidden world below.

However, in an almost poetic irony, Dreamlight Valley is no longer inhabited or visited by Atlantans since Kida and Milo ruling has brought in a new wave of peace and rediscovery of their world. So there is joy and reason to be in the present of the now vs the dreamscape realms where every realm can coexist.

And that’s where our Mc came along, a child for whatever reason needing a place for adventure, to run away, or simply have to call their own and seek out all the principles of the valley.

Now for my own Mc, Maliaka, I like to HC that their father used to tell of wonderful myths and legends from growing up by small sea town. And used to be entertained by the sea stories and explorations told by his own father about the legends of Atlantis. And that their father had passed down all the “proof” of Atlantis that MC grew obsessed with and felt a connection to. Which is why all the journals and stuff we find in game are written in Atlantean. And our power stems from the crystals/life force that connects all Atlanteans. But as an adult, we’d assume it was just childish make believe language.

Anyway what leads to Mc abandoning the valley and also everything she remembers about Atlantis or at least fascination in it was the death of her father who had went to look for his father at sea searching one last time to go back to Atlantis where he originated from. But both were assumed lost at sea forever.

Which devastated Maliaka, and she could never fully discuss this because most assume her talk of losing her father and grandfather to the defenses of Atlantis/unforgiving sea, was a child coping or making up story. Which created a rift with others including her mother.

Anyway long story/explanation short. Maliaka is all grown up and returns to family home for the summer and is transported back to the valley when she needs it most.

And maybe with further creation of main story and whenever they add Atlantis or explore Atlantis world/realm, we can get some nods to this theory. It’s be so cool and not just me obsessed with Disney Atlantis and always wanting to go there. ☺️

It’s time to talk about my theories.

So to start out let’s cover what I will be calling the characters throughout my posts, as I do have headcannon names for all of them.

Life itself- Chuck Rogers

Starting out with a character that has a cannon name! So I don’t need to explain this one.

Youth- David Rogers

Onto the justification for most of the list; No idea why I picked this, just vibes.

As for the Surname, I will talk more about it when I cover Mama’s Gun.

S2E3- May Keets

Ha ha. May is short for Mayonnaise and I’m unoriginal. But her last name is based on a lyric from Poplar Street (as it and Mama’s Gun have the most context for the setting) the singer of Poplar street talks about Ms.Moore sleeping around with a “Mr.Keets”. Does this relate to May or her story at all? Not really. But it’s my post and I can hc whatever I want.

In fact if you choose this line of thinking then you’re you can offer an explanation for her poor mental health as it would explain why she would be cut off from her family/support system. Relying on her vices instead of the people in her life. (But we can talk more about her when I eventually do her character analysis)

Pork Soda- Adam and Carol Jennings

Now once again; names are vibes. But the last names are Cannonical as stated in this interview

Mama’s Gun- Laura Rogers

Now in Mama’s Gun the first lyric is “in the summer took my gun.” Meaning that the title is referring to her as Mama for a reason, that being that she is a mom. (Duh, Lavender get to the point)

Based on the Life Itself music video it’s shown that Chuck is riding in the car to save David with Laura. Meaning they have to know each other at least. And know each other, and this kid, to the point where Laura would have to be willing to be the getaway driver for Chuck after he threw a smoke bomb into Ms.Moore’s hotel room to save David.

So this is my theory; Laura married a man and had Chuck, then some years later adopted David after he was surrendered by his mother. (The waitress from premade sandwiches). Then the events of Mama’s gun happen and the father dies of “an unknown gunman”. And I will go into far heavier detail when I do my Mama’s gun analysis.

Cane Shuga- Dustin Sinclair

This one comes from Mama’s gun, again.

“Dirty Dustin says he saw him playin’ ball with Dizzy Jim“

I believe I remember an interview where The Cane Shuga guy was described as being a “crooked businessman” or something along those lines (would be a good reason as to why he can afford an expensive drug like cocaine.)

I imagine “dirty Dustin” is a name that’s said behind his back. As for his last name, I just thought about a name that sounded expensive and fancy.

Premade Sandwiches- Julia Jennings

Once again, vibes. As for why I hc her as the child of Adam and Carol, it’s kinda based in lore, mostly based on her appearance and how her son is blonde when she isn’t. I will explain how I see their relationship in the Premade sandwiches and The Other Side of Paradise analysis.

The Other Side of Paradise- James “Jim” Blue.

This one is me reaching again but hear me out.

“Dirty Dustin says he saw him playin’ ball with Dizzy Jim. Dizzy Jim had never spoken, whispered back, “You murdered him”. “

Much like how I said that “Dirty Dustin” was a name he was called behind his back, “Dizzy Jim” sounds like a cruel nickname for someone with his head in the clouds, wanting to be a superstar.

As for the last name Blue, I had the concept of the chorus “Bye Bye Baby Blue” being a reference to a childhood nickname he had. Maybe he’s a JR, so the nickname “Baby Blue” would make sense.

Like I said, I’m definitely reaching. As the lyric could just as closely be tied to a literal baby, or it’s a Glass Animals-ism that is just for flavor text but I don’t think so. What are your thoughts?

Take a Slice- Adrienne Leary

Again, vibes. I wanted to go with something gender neutral because while the actor is more feminine, the story this song is based on is about a man. And I think this character definitely engages in gender fuckery because it’s fun.

Poplar Street- Mrs.Moore

I’m not giving her a first name because she doesn’t deserve to be known by one. Mrs.Moore, based on how I view the story, is a black cloud that hangs over the town more than she is a person. She is a vile human being that needs nothing more to be said about her.

What I can say in terms of character analysis is that she is married, so her husband is either that painfully oblivious or he doesn’t care. So honestly I’m glad he’s not present anywhere else in the story.

Agnes- Agnes

I’m going to be straight forward and say that beyond things that we can definitely know about how he exists in the plot, I don’t really want to make outlandish headcannons about Agnes. Mainly because out of everyone in the cast, he feels the most real. He is likely the closest character to Dave Bayley and beyond the moodboards and the exact lyrics of the song, I’m not going to theorize more than that.

I’m so excited to start working on my character analysis!! I can’t promise when it will come out, but I’m working on it! And by all means, if you want to share your HC’s with me, I am all ears!!

And for the first question I'll take this ask as an opportunity to sum up some hcs I have for this AU 👍 but some important notes first:

I personally rather imagine this AU as a magicless/not-so-magic-central kinda world just for simplicity sake, but the rest of twst og lore pretty much remains the same.

I just talk abt scarabia here bcs they are my faves!

Since what inspired me to ramble about this AU was across the spider-verse, I do make a brief mention canon events and a bit of multiverse stuff

Scarabia into the spider-verse, headcanons under the cut!

Earth 2506 - Kalim as the spider-man of his dimension. Can also be referred to as the desert-spider!

uhh (making up an origin story on the spot right now) considering he comes from a family of influential merchants, maybe they got a great deal to partner up with some sort of scientific corporation, to deal with the business side of their new technologies. Kalim was for the first time invited to one of the meetings, as the heir to the family business, it was about time for him to check in person how things worked on this field. In short, it did not end well. As they walked around the corporation's main labs, one spider subject went loose, and Kalim stood right under its web.

he's very fitting to be a spidey, considering his happy-go-lucky personality, he'd be the type of spider-man to mess around and have a lot of fun playing the role of a hero

(Fight goes silent)

Kalim: well! that was another easy adventure for spider ma-

(Big explosion)

Jamil is the first one to know about this secret identity of course. He covers up any potential slips, as to not reveal this secret to anyone else

One notable thing about spider-man!Kalim is that he can afford whatever hero gadgets he needs. Gotta fix his web shooters? Want a nice improvement on his hero constume? No problem. He got a fair share of contacts from people who'd easily do all of these for him. Even though it is Jamil the one who usually runs after this stuff in his place...

Canon event stuff being losing a best friend? Jamil in this universe actually becomes Venom (maybe he found a symbiote from the same lab the spider came from) and yeah they had to fight. Jamil probably snapped for the same reasons he got his overblot. And this is the part where Kalim learns that with great powers comes great responsibility...

What would happen next? Does he move on eventually after the fight? Will there be other villains for spider-man to stop? How will he keep the secret identity now that Jamil's gone? Well, these are great questions, because- (runs away)

Earth 1209 - Jamil as the spider-man of his dimension. Idk if he'd go by any other variant of a spider-man name

Now that I think about it, his own universe is probably an accidental breach from Kalim's. As in "what if Kalim didn't get bitten at the lab, and instead brought the radioactive spider back home by accident?" then when Jamil took Kalim's backpack he was the one to get bitten instead

Ace happened to be the first one to find out about Jamil's powers after an incident on a basketball game. Their dynamic is funny. It's not like Ace wants to be the "guy in the chair" but if Jamil's secret identity is ever at risk, he'd volunteer to help, no questions asked. And aside from him, Najma is the only other person who knows about this as well. The very moment spider-man made his first appearance in public she knew! She says it's a "sister instinct", or something like that. She'd even offer to help him and make him a proper hero uniform... but ONLY if he agrees to do all the house chores for her for a month.

Najma: you gotta say it first :)

Jamil: (sigh) callforbackup

Najma: what? :)

Jamil: .......callforbackup

Najma: come onn :)

Jamil: PLEASE just call for-

Najma: yeah I already called it :)

Perhaps spider-man!Jamil has a puppeteer-like skill that he can use to control a small number of people with his webs!

Leona could be a mentor type of character in this universe. Like Jamil already kinda looks up to him in canon, but this time they are a little nicer to each other loll and I only bring this up because there is no "uncle Ben" for Jamil to lose, but Leona is the closest thing he could have to one, so...... canon event. That also ties up to that spider-man story trope of the hero finding himself in the wrong place wrong time, by the side of the person they just lost, only for a third party to walk in and assume it was spider-man the one who killed them. Having people assume this masked man to have killed a person as prestigious as Leona immediately makes spider-man public enemy #1

And edit: just remembered the point abouve could be Kalim alternatively. Which would be even more tragic to think both Jamil and Kalim lose each other in their respective universes

But what do we do after that? How does Jamil redeem himself after this misunderstanding? What if he just gives up being spider-man? Well, uhhh these are also good questions.... look over there! (runs away again)

I’m of two minds.

I would say my main argument against using Adeleine for THIS is that, as a big Adeleine fan, I’m hesitant to see her worked into the “ingenue in distress” role! I’m a fan of her character (thin as it is, officially) which is why I try to be careful in my own use of her.

Even in Apologies AU, it is mostly Noir quietly pining over their life’s tragedies as I didn’t want to twist Adeleine into the kind of character who is like, grieving the loss of her family so deeply she can no longer get out of bed or remember what food tastes like... Not against sad Adeleine HC though! And a thoughtful/wistful Christopher Robin type Ado is one of my favs! But I do think it’s beneficial to use sparingly rather than risk it becoming the fandom zeitgeist!

Back when I wrote my own fairly serious attempt ^^; at a Kirby movie treatment (though I would change things up if I did it again…) I choose to make Ribbon the “heroine in need of a hero during the 3/4s mark” for that reason! I didn’t love Hollywood heroine-ifying her either, but she DOES have a movie-sized problem in 64 and it did require Kirby’s assistance to solve! Their teaming up to fight Zero 2 feels like one of those kinda ~legendary~ moments that make them the most likely to occupy the lead hero and heroine spots.

The other reason is that anime movies of this type seem to peddle in one-off characters that people utterly unfamiliar with the property can imprint onto. It’s not MY preference, as a fan. I know "member berries" (?) or whatever it's called when new movies dangle cheap nostalgia in front of you is a tech that gets a lot of flack (for being done as a shoddy cash grab, I would like to think) but I WOULD like to be able to point at the colorful shape on screen and go “AH!” instead of be forced to empathize with some random kid we KNOW will NEVER show up again. ("We'll stay friends forever!" :said through tears: "Note: Poochie died on the way back to his home planet")

But can’t deny it seems to be industry standard. And if we're talking about the -possibility- of a Kirby happening movie, even in a highly fictionalized and fun way, the dead-eyed working stiff in me can't help but chime in with "Now, this is how they WOULD do it. Even if it's not necessarily how they should." XD

Oh and I agree that the Dark Matter trilogy/the Dark Matter invasion would make a good movie plot! Zero + Dark Matter are presented as an immediate a global threat, and a visible, compelling one (scary eyeballs!) that is easy to follow!

I've mentioned before that I disagree about RtDL making for "the best" game to movie pipeline project - though I would say now even RtDL could be adapted into a nice movie! It would just have to be one of those compilation movie "retell the story" type deals where you know what you’re going to see. I still hold it would be kinda a bad choice for this hypothetical of “big Hollywood film to use to introduce Kirby and his friends to a wider audience/global audience."

So, if we ever got a DM Trilogy adaptation, I would absolutely love to see our girl in it, but...I also have fond memories of like, various Sailor Moon movies (...okay, I admit it, I’m thinking specifically of that one pegasus one?! XD) and I do think a new, one-off human character would be a way to pull that adaptation off!

For an actually good Kirby movie idea that still has the mandated "relatable real person": Kirby's clash with Eifilis (which takes place on Shiver Star) causes Kirby to be sent back in time to when Earth was Earth, leading to Kirby making friends with a struggling autistic kid. Kirby, wanting to make sure his new friend stays alive, brings him into the future... Unfortunately, this kid was important to the future of Kirby, being the basis of Zero's negative energy, so Kirby is faced with a dilemma: fix his present, and cause the kid to suffer, or sit in an unfamiliar future, with a friend whose no longer in pain.

Ooh, I think you've got something GOOD going here! In combination with @newthinkerer’s “Kirby movies by decade” this feels like a movie plot that really could have happened! (Give or take the use of the Forgotten Land and Elfilis as major plot points, which would otherwise necessitate it as a “newish” thing.)

Now, I'm a child of the 80s >w> so I can easily envision this as an undiscovered 2D animated movie of that era, in the vein of like, the Rainbow Brite movie, that ends up with surprising amounts of heart despite also playing a little fast and loose with canon! (And experiences a revival in light of the terrible Hollywood Kirby! XD)

It would probably also have a weirdly catchy earworm of an ending song that would have the hardcores combing through used stores and internet archives trying to find the cleanest rip of... (COUGH)

A ship I have with said character: granted I feel like with every one of these the first choice is going to be MC, since it is a dating game, but I’m gonna opt out on mentioning MC for now. A classic ship is asmo/solomon, and I don’t imagine it’s healthy for obvious reasons but it is ohhh so interesting. Twisted dynamics. Who’s really the master at play here? Asmo is portrayed as lighthearted and ‘airheaded’, but then he has his serious moments and moments where he threatens to rip out your heart. (A true romantic <3) what I vaguely know about their created pact is Solomon used asmo’s powers to essentially build his reputation up? And a castle, or something. I dunno lol. And then Asmo sent Solomon off somewhere and took over his position until Sol managed to find his way back and put Asmo back in his place.

Ik there’s multiple versions on uh. Biblical lore. Yeah. And I went on a wiki deep dive on these guys at 4 am and that’s what stuck out to me the most about the two.

Some back and forth fuckery, essentially! I dig that. I like it. I imagine they were very snappy yet very flirty with each other at first. Intense. Solomon was more demanding. But then, years and years go by, to where we are canonically in the obey me universe, and they’re relatively chill with each other. Still flirty, but lighthearted. They’ve been around each other for so long, there’s a twisted trust in that. Asmo knows of Solomon’s ultimate goals, and Sol knows that Asmo knows this, and it’s, whatever. Whatever happens will happen. Asmo is curious to see if Sol will ever get to where he wants to be, and whatever happens after that will be dealt with then. Asmo says “it’s future Asmo’s problem.” I rambled here lol, so these are just unfiltered thoughts bordering on my own headcanon’s of the characters and their stories as opposed to canon.

A BROTP I have with said character: Satan. If these two are together, and you’re one of their brothers, they are fucking Insufferable. I know this. I know it in my soul. They are THEE most annoying siblings ever when they’re together. It’s like their entire life purpose is to annoy the shit out of you. And they won’t even be doing anything. You’re sitting in the same room as them. Satan’s reading his book, Asmo’s doing his nails. They’re not looking at you. But you know. You know. On some spiritual level they’re looking at you and giggling and talking shit. Eventually you leave because, well you just have to. Once you do and you’re out of earshot, they start cackling like a bunch of hyenas. I know it’s a beel and belphie thing to have that mind connection kinda deal, but I think these two have it too. They just know what the other is thinking, and it’s because they just know each other.

Asmo helps Satan with his hair, another hc I like is that Satan’s natural hair is black, so Asmo helps him bleach it blonde and touches up the roots when needed.

Another thing - when Satan was first brought into existence, I like to think Asmo was the only one who didn’t tiptoe around him. “Who’s this kid think he is, talking to me like that?” Asmo stands up for himself and goes against Satan when he’s being a brat. That made Satan feel less like a stranger, and more like a brother, so I imagine they have the closest relationship.

It’s also canon they’re each other’s most trusted, and that’s so sweet. I imagine they both have the biggest soft spots for the other and would drop everything just to make sure the other is alright.

A NOTP I have with said character: the brothers, but as I said with MC I’m gonna opt out on mentioning this because it’s just a given. I don’t ship any of the brothers with each other because they’re brothers. Even if they’re not related by ‘blood,’ they’re still brothers. Maybe I’ll say Asmo/Solomon is a NOTP despite also shipping them, and that’s if I want to go the healthy route and have them both in healthy relationships, because solodeus is not a healthy ship once you get down to what sol’s ultimate goals are.

A random headcanon: Ok, no one likes the sprites, yeah? They leave much to be desired. One complaint i’ve seen a couple people mention about Asmo’s sprite is his bug-eyed expressions. And… I like it. He looks like a freak. so I hc that he has a slightly unnerving appearance, there’s something in his eyes that’s unhinged, yet you can’t help but be attracted. (He’s a freak!! I love him)

Another hc is that he experiences bloodlust as much as sexual/romantic lust. Ripping hearts out is fun! He’s so cute when he’s covered in blood, don’t you just want to take a picture? Again, he’s soooo unhinged. I love it. Also can imagine Asmo indulging in Satan’s murderous tendencies the most out of everyone, which is another factor in why they’re so close.

General Opinion over said character: he’s so sweet ultimately :( biggest sweetheart ever. He was the first character i was really into, he was just too cute and flirty, and someone that’d be easy to banter and flirt back with. When we were at the retreat in dia’s castle, after we formed a pact with asmo, And when he was just observing us, and every detail of us back in our shared room? hello. 😵‍💫. Some intricate rituals happening rn. I think he’d give the softest hugs too.

My Opinion on;

Character in general: Oof, right okay so my initial reaction to our dearest and hottest Grease Daddy when you find him snoozing in the tunnels was as follows: 

“What the actual smashed potato is this and why the CAPITAL F do I gotta fight it...?” 

I was not impressed, not at all, but mostly because I’m as dense as dark matter and didn’t realise I needed to use a long range attack in the initial throws of that battle so spent a good solid 10 minutes or so just tryna catch up to the fricker. 

Anyway, that fight didn’t put Roche in the greatest stead, but his laugh and his general craziness did strike a bit of a chord, considering that Cloud doesn’t absolutely decimate him in that fight I had every reason to believe that he’d show up again, which, of course he did, but I had my difficulty set quite high and poor Cloud was hanging by a thread when he pops up for a second time. So I sit there on my bed absolutely CRAPPING myself just thinking this guy with the most fabulous hair and the most GORGEOUS eyes in the entire game is going use Cloud as a floor mop~ 

But then Roche HEALS him to make the fight fair. THAT was when my outlook suddenly changed, that there is so much more to this SOLDIER dude than what meets the eye. I mean you don’t see a lot of him, he only appears twice, but the dynamics between those two instances are so very different as in that first bout, Roche seems to just be looking for trouble. He found that in Cloud and lost. BUT that loss seemed to ignite a fire in him that Roche was perhaps lacking up until that point. The prospect of challenging Cloud excites him and thus he can’t resist a second chance to either prove himself, or just to drink in whatever power Cloud can deliver. (I like to think it’s the latter... I’m rather hot for this ship I won’t lie...) With Roche’s demeanour seeming a lot calmer and more focused (If a lil flirtatious, ooh la la~) in that second bout I was yet again forced to consider that there’s a lot about this guy that we are yet to discover, and I hope he turns up in the second instalment, he had better or Squeenix gone get an angry e-mail off yours truly. 

Anyway, this dude... fuck, he’s got everything right? He’s sexy, suave and is an actual BEAST with that bike of his. I love him like... I just love him so much that words are failing me now <3

How they play them: Okay, my Moogle Mooglie Moogs, Listen to Saphie ‘kay? You have so fucking little to go on, literally all you’ve been presented with here is a face, the very baseline of a personality and some little snippets of lore if you were smart enough to use your Assess Materia on him. As you can probably guess I wasn’t that smart... But you’ve taken those little bite sized chunks and you’ve created this absolute MONSTER of a character, off your own merit with your own HC’s, ideas and lore that give this minor character who is seemly so sadly overlooked so much fucking DEPTH. You’ve implimented him into such a complex story which is already written and you’ve done it with such care and skill it boggles my head how you did it at all, and I applaud you for that! I wanna know more, I want all the reactions the good, the bad, tragically sad and the foul. I want it all, and YOU did that. There’s so much you’ve poured into this guy that... I don’t think you quite understand how happy it makes me whenever I see his cute face in my inbox or I get a reply to our thread. The passion and the sheer power you put into every reply, listen, I ain’t blowing smoke up your ass, I wouldn’t do that, but you’ve created such a treasure here and I am certainly not the only one who thinks so, that much I can promise you. Your writing is, in short, out of this fucking world that I was a bit star struck when we first started interacting. I loved Roche anyway for the reasons stated above, but you solidified it~

YES!!!!! xie lian actually lived that life!!!!!! i loved this detail so much

that was really fun i had a blast reading it and on the whole really liked it i WISH soo badly that hua cheng had gotten more outside of being cunty and devoted even tho those are both important i just wish there was more about like how he got by during those 800 years and like did he ever have doubts? what shaped his worldview was it all xie lian or was it his experience as a mortal as well? why is he so mean to e’ming? theres bits and pieces here and there and i know it was already SO long but that really would have been great if there was more about hc cuz tbh by the end, at least for me, the hualian relationship didnt actually feel as fleshed out as the xianle trio relationship like i still liked hualian’s dynamic and it was really sweet how much they clearly really liked each other and  everything but i kind of wish some of the other subplots had been dropped or diminished in favor of more hc development i think that would have been cool

Of course there are some heres and theres and she changed a lot from the first time I dragged her out of the void of my head . I originally wanted to make more of a gag character but ended up taking too much of the screen if I’m honest . but of course , since there is many other lores and crossovers are a must , some things change once or twice .

SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  —  Nora is a mentor character , supportive and most likely to be the ace under the sleeve like a Kisuke Urahara from Bleach or Sinbad from Magi --- you know there’s something fishy but there is a charm that even thought they are slidding in the background for the main character , their relevance is vast . As a mentor characters , she would often help with insight , understanding of complex things , giving moral lessons and giving others a sense of security whilst also making sure to throw hints about a doubious nature . Keeping a character around her to keep their feet on ground while never shooting down their hopes and dreams .

Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  —  She is not approachable unless you have enough guts to -- perhaps even looks intimidating or hard to come up with something plausible to make the meeting more natural . And honestly , she looks like a mainstream angst character at first glance --- even I myself believe this and start having second thoughts ... :laughs:  

What inspired you to rp your muse?  —  An old project I had archived in my closet of memories (?). She was the main , nameless character of a journal about , well , her and the emotions she had to deal with in the everyday . I will be seriously honest ... it was a self insert :blushes: after all it was like a personal journal I was doing on my darkest days . But after that , she became Sable -- the first character on her own -- who also served as a mentor ( but the story was much more dark , seriously ) and then just came to this . I even used the pre-prototype name lol . The idea was to put the whole story into a RPG pixel game or a short comic series where she ( Sable ) and the protagonist would wander around a city called “Nobody’s Home” , a place were people with “thats” ( what now are called Stalkers ) got dragged into and either confront their emotions and solve / comes in terms with them or get eaten by them ( a metaphor for suicide or dead by mental illness ) . The story was more or less about Sable teaching Nona ( the genderless protagonist ) about different mental states , issues and others and helping people solve them so they can return to the real world . Needless to say , the story ends with Nona returning after coming in terms with their condition ( funnily enough , the protagonist had a bunny shaped emotion ) while on the other hand Sable stayed behind along with her closest friend , who she question why he keeps being around if he could return himself , to what he replies he doesn’t want to leave her alone esp since she can no longer return --- hinting Sable committed suicide but by sheer will power remained there to help others to deal with what she couldn’t . Voez , the friend I mention , is even Victor from her current lore . Haha , I like recycling I guess . When I came with Nora , it was mostly to kill time and altered her base story a bit since the original plot was way to close up to make an interaction .

What keeps your inspiration going?  —  How well received she became , I know it sounds a bit ... uh , bad . But I honestly never expected people to like her . heck I even have my doubts about myself liking her haha . plus I know it’s not easy to deal with a character with a somewhat meta power ... I still struggle from time to time but I’m managing and having the support I have atm is something that keeps me going . I love plot a shit lot . I love to come up with ideas with others . To expand what I already have . besides , there is so much I haven’t write down yet that is about her lore but I’m a bit insecure yet . I guess I’m too used to forums where everyon follows a general plot haha ... old habits die hard .

Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?  —  I absolute love this and need this . It comes easier for me to make a 20 word pages of information about stuff if I’m asking specifically about it . even add explanatory drawings with it lolol since I’m kinda bad with words . besides , showing me interest on a character would just fire the heck out of me to keep going . I mean , everyone likes to get some curiosity and a chance to develop more their characters , canon or not .

If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?  —  I would for sure . I’m not smart and I actually do a shit ton of research --- but even so I can miss a lot of shit people would say <nah that’s not how it works> and that would be helpful as heckie . but of course , needing the why also would tell me if the person disagreeing is doing it with a solid ground or just because they are being a piece of crap . I’m really tired of tumblr mentality and shitty people who aren’t mature enough to act decently .

I don’t really care much ... esp since nora is an original character . if it constructive critisism , okay -- I will take it , but gimme a solid reason other than “ your character is / is not ... “ and then give a crappy critique because she doesn’t fit your agenda or standards .

If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?  —  you are fucking free to unfollow me and ignore me for the rest of your life . I really don’t get the point of hating on the internet just because and keep promoting your hate just to be a pain in the ass .

Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?  —  I fucking wrote in my rules that people are even fricking free to fix my grammar and english because holy heck , even to this day I still do some ugly shit . I’m dumb , help ...

Do you think you are easy going as a mun?   —  ehhhhhhhhhhhhh, kinda . I take everything with water . whenever it’s of ideology , people as it is , characters ... I am quite tolerant and try to keep the “okay this person thinks this way , fine .” but as long as nobody crosses the line where they try to spoil it for me or others , I get super bitter . I love OOC , getting to know the one behind the character makes me feel more secure about coming to them and just rambling about plots and hcs and whatever idea got in my mind . but if I see someone and , forgive me god for misjudging , see them as a person that will put me on my nerves -- I won’t even try . as for the friends I have and those who don’t know me as much ... I am obnoxiously sporadic and have a lot of ups and downs very often . one day I could be talking 100 words per second others I will just take a fucking week to respond . honestly , I had mined my social skills for two years plus several other irl stuff previous to that , so I’m always a bit too anxious around people , esp people I REALLY like . I’m insecure as heck , if someone is vague ( just because , idk , it was a lazy day for them ) I think at least 10 different reason why probably that person hates me now . I’m a bit dumb 26 year old baby .......... but I’m very aware that is completely on me . I’m a mess.......  so , what was the question again ??? ... i wish i had more hcs for this post to dazzle you with. some of these are from his verse info page, but i think they’re important enough to say twice

solas was programmed with a standard boring RP, queen’s english, british accent. upon leaving his assigned duty he took on the welsh accent he has every other verse i write him in (default included), as well as taking on a new name

in the library he worked reference, fielding questions and helping research. it actually wasn’t a job he disliked (despite how strange some questions could get) but he wouldn’t go back to it or another reference job as a matter of pride

generally with AUs i try to take the character beats of solas’s story w/o making him as OP as he is in canon just to make interactions easier. i did actually consider making him a god program along the lines of anubis who has the ability to command omnics but chooses not to (at least anymore). the lore is so vague + it’d complicate interactions that i decided against it. if i decide i need a second ovw verse for some reason i may include it as an alternate

along the same lines, solas isn’t very proficient in combat in this verse, and especially towards the beginning of the crisis his combat knowledge is almost entirely theoretical and based on data downloaded. by the time of recall he would know how to shoot a gun but if anyone wanted him on their side it would be more what he knows than what he can do

he saw love hacktually with ian. based off the poster’s design i think he’d be insulted by the idea that an omnic would have to be induced to fall in love with a human, but also i’m betting depictions of those relations period are rare in the UK so i guess you take what you can

unlike in dragon age, solas is less hostile about the religion he once belonged to. this may change if/when we ever learn more about the iris, but as it stands now he views it as ultimately irrelevant to omnic-human solidarity. he believes there’s a distinct possibility that it exists (or knows it does exist? idk, zenyatta in-game seems to have powers that derive from it but i’ve also read that his powers are for game mechanics... only... so...) but that it’s unnecessary. basically, it’s is useless to him, but he bears less anger towards those who derive use from it

that being said while he was still living with the shambali he did get into arguments about it. they rarely if ever became angry arguments on his end (he never sounds as angry as he does when debating the merits of the qun with iron bull, for example) but more along the tone of his discussions of the maker with cassandra. the iris religion overall seems like it, as of the moment, doesn’t encourage unhealthy hierarchies, so many of his issues he has with the religions in thedas don’t apply

he pays tribute to mondatta’s shrine in king’s row on a semi-regular basis. the picture, rather than the statue. they did likely know each other, though i wouldn’t say they were close

he mostly wears normal clothes, being fond of wool sweaters as he always is. he does have a set of clothes from his time at the monastery that he has kept.

What drew you to rping this character?In all my gaming, whether tabletop RPs or PC RPGs, I’ve almost played a female archer/sniper type character. For whatever reason, I’m drawn to this woman who can throw a punch, survive in the woods, and take someone out with a headshot before they even know she’s there.

What’s something you like about how you write?I enjoy writing dialogue and that’s where I find I’m able to express my characters the best. 

What’s something you dislike about how you write or wish you were better at?I need to work on narrative voice and descriptions of actions, places, etc. I’ve never had ‘flowery’ type writing and so these visual details sometimes escape me.

What’s something about your character that you’d like if you had to spend time with them?Meryll’s willingness to be open to new experiences and new people, and how she chooses love first, rather than judgement or suspicion. 

What’s something about your character that you wouldn’t like if you had to spend time with them?Her impulsive nature would drive me nuts. And she does so many things are that aren’t safe lol

What’s a negative thing about your character that you enjoy writing?Meryll has the worst taste in men. She isn’t interested in anyone who is even remotely appropriate for her. This leads to so many odd pairings and comical events.

What;s a similarly you have with your character?probably the tall cutesy brunette part

What’s a difference you have with your character?Meryll is far quicker to open up to new people than I am. I tend to be more standoffish when I first meet someone but Meryll is all in right from hello.

What’s the hardest thing for you to write?as mentioned above – imagery in narrative.

Do you think you’ve gotten better at writing anything or any type of thing or situation since you started writing this character (or roleplaying in general)? I think I’ve gotten better at jumping into the minds of different characters. My two mains - Tywin and Meryll - are on the opposite side of the spectrum from each other, and I find switching between them to be easier all the time

Why do you roleplay?I’ve always enjoyed writing, making up stories, but it has been such a solitary activity. The idea of creating stories and worlds with other people is amazing. i love it.

Do you write fiction ever other than rping?I started writing a fantasy novel many many years ago but put it aside. A couple years ago, I discovered GoT fanfics and that got my writing bug going again.

Do you like fanfiction more or less than rp threads between characters?Depends – sometimes I want complete control over a scene and don’t feel like dealing with other people, so that is a great time to work on fanfics. When i get writers block in my fics, I find RP helps get things flowing again. RP demands a greater flexibility - always being ready to react to whatever your writing partner throws at you, different timelines, different genres, or characters you never even imagined your own character meeting. It is definitely great for creativity.For reading purposes, i would rather read a fanfic over someone else;s RP threads, just for continuity of style and flow.

Do you like or dislike OC/Canon character interactions in principle?i love it. as long as the characters are well written and the chemistry is there, i’m all for it.

What’s your favorite thing about rping a canon character?having so much lore available at my fingertips. The ASOIAF community is incredibly dorky and the lore resources out there are absolutely amazing. sometimes i spend more time researching a thread than i do writing it.

What’s something you dislike about rping a canon character?having to explain/rationalize some of GRRM’s weird decisions, and having to deal with other people’s ideas about a character

What’s your favorite thing about rping an original character?Not having to deal with other people’s predetermined notions of the character. When I write canon characters i worry that they come across too HC-heavy and that others will think I’m not IC enough. I never have that problem with Meryll :). Although there are, of course, predetermined notions of her House, but that’s fun to deal to with.

What’s something you dislike about rping an original character?the struggle of getting other people to write with me. i get it though, i have canon characters and sometimes i just can’t get my head around how they will interact with a certain OC. 

How much time do you spend roleplaying on average a week?comes and goes in spurts. right now i’m spending a lot of time writing but that comes after a couple weeks of very spotty activity.

Do you think about your threads and your character when you aren’t roleplaying? How and for how long on average?yes .. i come up with weird ideas all the time. not sure how much time is spent doing this..

Do you like lots of headcanons or few?i love hearing other people’s headcanons about their own characters and mine as well. it helps to come up with ideas for threads. really, the more information, the better

What’s your take on AUs?i used to write a lot of modern AU but lately i’m into canon timeline. I’m game to try writing most things, but my focus depends on what is currently inspiring me

What’s a ship you would never rp? For what reason? Hmm.. there’s not much I would be completely against shipping. That being said, I would never push a ship that my writing partner wasn’t comfortable with. I do ship some unconventional (problematic?) pairings, so I’m careful to have a frank talk with potential writing partners before delving in.

Do you ever read rp threads you aren’t involved in? What type of thread does it usually have to be to interest you?I love good writing, so I’ll read anything - angst, smut, fluff, etc - if it’s well-written. I recently read some awesome Star Wars threads which made me get into the movie franchise again when it was something i hadn’t been interested in for quite some time. Right now I’m creeping on the HP fandom – some cool stuff going on there too.

If you do read threads you aren’t in, do you usually let the other authors know, or keep it under your hat?I’ll usually let them know that I’m enjoying their thread through a like, reply, dash commentary or IM.

Do you prefer gifs or icons when roleplaying? Or no FC at all?I prefer icons, but gifs can be useful too, especially for humour. I don’t mind if writers don’t use FC’s though. sometimes there just isn’t a FC available to do the character justice.

(For example, if your character is drawn or anime, will you RP with people who use actor face claims/play-bys?) Hmmm. Probably not. I think it would be harder for me to visualize interactions in this situation.

What’s something you like about FCs/Play-Bys?It’s nice to be able to put a face on a character, and also fun to do image hunting to make the perfect icons.
