Headcanon time!

For over a year, Goofy has been feeling like there was a huge hole in his heart and he didn't know why. The Ruler has returned, his friends are coming back and the valley was slowly recovering, so what was missing?

He didn't know until one day, while he was cleaning his house, he came across a chest with things that look familiar; a trophy, skateboard and two boxes.

In the big box was a stack of CDs of an artist named "Powerline" and that's when Goofy remembers his son, Max who left to find some help. It broke his heart knowing that it took him this long to remember his boy. But the pain doesn't end there.

The other box was a lot smaller and inside was a ring. Taking a closer look, he sees it's mood ring and that's when he remember his wife, Sylvia who went with Max looking for help.

Why didn't he go with them? Because Max told him to stay behind to look out his baby sister.

Bonus headcanon: Mickey, Minnie and Goofy kind of adopted Rose when she was little.

DDLV Headcanon/Theory

Unsure if this has been said before. But I’m new to this game and the fandom. Been obsessed with Disney’s Dreamlight Valley for the past month. And I have a hc about the lore surrounding our Mc and our connection to Dreamlight Valley and our powers. I believe that not only we have access to it and not necessarily its sole creator due to the fact Mc is a descendant and/or is Atlantian (this part can be personally decide for the player but in some capacity we are tied to Atlantis!)

And that the reference that Merlin makes along with some other characters about the ancient runes and ruins all over the valley about previous inhabitants, alludes that we have a connection to them. It’s just that Dreamlight Valley is the only stable middle place that is connecting the surface world and Atlantis’ hidden world below.

However, in an almost poetic irony, Dreamlight Valley is no longer inhabited or visited by Atlantans since Kida and Milo ruling has brought in a new wave of peace and rediscovery of their world. So there is joy and reason to be in the present of the now vs the dreamscape realms where every realm can coexist.

And that’s where our Mc came along, a child for whatever reason needing a place for adventure, to run away, or simply have to call their own and seek out all the principles of the valley.

Now for my own Mc, Maliaka, I like to HC that their father used to tell of wonderful myths and legends from growing up by small sea town. And used to be entertained by the sea stories and explorations told by his own father about the legends of Atlantis. And that their father had passed down all the “proof” of Atlantis that MC grew obsessed with and felt a connection to. Which is why all the journals and stuff we find in game are written in Atlantean. And our power stems from the crystals/life force that connects all Atlanteans. But as an adult, we’d assume it was just childish make believe language.

Anyway what leads to Mc abandoning the valley and also everything she remembers about Atlantis or at least fascination in it was the death of her father who had went to look for his father at sea searching one last time to go back to Atlantis where he originated from. But both were assumed lost at sea forever.

Which devastated Maliaka, and she could never fully discuss this because most assume her talk of losing her father and grandfather to the defenses of Atlantis/unforgiving sea, was a child coping or making up story. Which created a rift with others including her mother.

Anyway long story/explanation short. Maliaka is all grown up and returns to family home for the summer and is transported back to the valley when she needs it most.

And maybe with further creation of main story and whenever they add Atlantis or explore Atlantis world/realm, we can get some nods to this theory. It’s be so cool and not just me obsessed with Disney Atlantis and always wanting to go there. ☺️

DDLV Friendship Headcanons : Rapunzel & Quasimodo ---------------------------------------

These two would be the bestest of friends… and there's literally no doubt in my mind that anything can change that…

Although… it would actually take them a while to have their first interaction… Both of them are slightly scared of talking to the other at first, and don’t know how or if they should approach them.

Quasimodo has no idea how to interact with anybody in the Valley (Hell, neither of them do.), but it is especially hard due to all the different faces, and types of people living here. There are some regular people, but there are also Talking Animals, Royalty, God’s, Demi-Gods, Anthropomorphic Talking Animals, and even things that he has never heard of, such as “Robots”... and this leads to him instinctively avoiding certain people in the valley, scared that he sticks out even more now.

Rapunzel is a bit more determined to make friends than Qusimodo, despite her anxieties. But although she doesn’t mean to be… she is actually quite fearful of Quasimodo at first. The way Quasimodo looks reminds her of the way Mother Gothel described people in the outside world, and even though she knows that Gothel was wrong about everything she said, she can’t help but be uneasy.

But after being introduced to each other by The Player… They would just immediately click…

Both of them would instantly apologise to each other after their mischaracterizing of one another, both of them feeling somewhat guilty about it… But the guilt is short lived, as they promptly start to bond in their similarities.

They both relate to each other, as both of them were trapped in a tower for their whole lives, and had to find and learn whatever they could about the outside world from… quite possibly the worst sources…

This leads to a tendency where both of them tend to rant to the other about something that they learnt about recently.

They are now “Learning-Buddies!”

Even though they are still both anxious about social interactions with certain villagers, They both love learning new things from them. This usually causes the two of them to meet up, and trade some of the new things they have learnt. 

But whenever the information they trade is wrong, or contradictory to what another one of the villagers told them, they both work together to find out the facts. (This usually ends with them talking to the Player)

But if they are not talking about their new findings, they tend to show the other everything they learnt to do while growing up in their respective towers.

This leads to the two of them frequently talking about books, art, food, sewing, knitting, handcrafting, puzzles, and even the intricacies of maintaining and cleaning bells.

They probably both started a project with some of the other villagers to make a handcrafted replica of the whole valley, with little figures of the villagers to boot, for the inside of Qusimodo’s House.

Not only helping them become even better friends, but also helping each other become more social, and out of their shells.

DDLV: Forgotten Headcanons

*CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR DISNEY DREAMLIGHT VALLEY* *Read At Your Own Risk*

Hi guys. Going off with my Dreamlight Valley kick by wanting to share my headcanons for The Forgotten that I will be writing for in fanfic when I get free time. It’s been fun knowing what happens in the 5th update, then playing things out for myself and connecting the dots with the memories and quests I’m doing on my end. 

Note that this version of The Forgotten is based on my personal experiences and that some of the characters I mention are not in the canon game (yet). These headcanons will be out of order

Without further ado, here is how I will be writing The Forgotten under the cut:

The Forgotten

Alias: Jess, The Ruler, Shadow Moth, The Dragon

Gender: Nonbinary/Genderfluid

Pronouns: They/Them (but they do not mind other pronouns)

Theme Song: Once Upon A December from “Anastasia” 

It’s hard to pinpoint when the split happened. I was introduced to the harshness of the world when I was young. I got bullied and had to deal with deaths in the family, and even though I grew up older than my peers, I would turn to the internet world to daydream and cope with the real world. I know that I officially grew up in adulthood after leaving high school, but I didn’t feel my “teenage angst” until my early to mid-twenties. So for Jess, the split happened slowly and fragmented. The exact timing is vague but I would say it happened when I transferred to my 4 year college. 

One night, Jess wakes up to find herself surrounded by night thorns wrapping around her, digging into her skin. She tries to remove them, but there are too many and she could hardly move. She cries for help and in a desperate act, tries to use a magic spell. She’s panicking and Oogie Boogie (if you have seen the NBC post earlier, this would make sense) comes in to rescue her. Who else was he gonna play games with and complain to Jack to? Jess messes up the spell, there’s an explosion of light, and Jess stands alone with no thorns or Oogie. Panicking again, she gets even more alarmed when she suddenly transforms into a shadow version of Oogie. She runs into the Glade of Trust crying when Mother Gothel finds her and takes advantage of the situation. Only Mother Gothel knows about the incident. 

Later on, Jess finds out that she said the wrong spell and it backfired, splitting Oogie in half and merging one-half of him into her. Not only does she get frustrated with looking for the other half, but now the Night Thorns are getting worse, people are forgetting things, and Jess feels like she’s changing. 

At that point, I think the transformation from Jess to The Forgotten was gradual and smooth. In the beginning, it was just an eye color change here or a change in clothing there. When they had more energy and a little bit of hope, they would disguise themselves to look how they used to but over time, it got harder to do so and they started to get negative thoughts, but they did not know how to express themselves. They would put up a front but slowly lose motivation to do things to the point that they didn’t care about the quality of the product and they tended to do things themselves. 

Up until this point, Oogie had not come out yet. It was only when Mother Gothel tricked Jess into taking the Orb of Trust and trying to seal them in the tree that Jess turned into Oogie and fought back, causing Gothel to be stuck in the tree. Same with Scar when he tricked them into destroying Sunlit Plateau. It was more subdued however because Scar at least didn’t force the Ruler to be imprisoned.

There was one moment where the Forgotten cared for something and forgot their angst for one night. One day, Lock, Shock, and Barrel came to them complaining about how boring everything got, and they low-key feared that Halloween would be forgotten. (At this point, Jack and Sally are in Halloween Town and Oogie is in the ruler). Hearing this, The Forgotten cursed at the thorns at the idea of forgetting the most beloved/sacred holiday, so they decide to be spiteful/petty about it. They made a huge load of candy and decorated the Forgotten Lands so it’s like a Halloween Forest with candy everywhere and there’s only one house to trick or treat from: the Fairy Godmother. I’d imagine the Fairy is the type to be all sweet and give you those king-sized chocolate bars and candy apples. The Forgotten had a crown, wings, and a costume along with a dragon mask they crafted (inspired by Maleficent). It’s that one sweet moment that both Oogie’s Boys and the Fairy Godmother remember. 

One day, the Forgotten got curious about a spell to save people from the darkness, so they decide to test it with the Orb of Love. They tried to distract Olaf by offering to play Hide and Seek. When the spell didn’t work, they abandoned the orb and went to the secret chamber to study and leave through a portal. Olaf comes in with the orb, trying to give it back. The Forgotten gets angry, snatches the orb, and throws it in an unstable portal, shifting into Oogie. They then realize what they did, shocked and in horror that they were mean to Olaf. They call themselves a monster and wants to go where monsters go. 

They then teleport to Lalotai unconsciously where they were about to be eaten by a monster but they were saved unawares by Tamatoa. Seeing that this strange human has magic, skills, jewels, and the potential to get revenge on Maui, Tamatoa takes the Forgotten in as a prisoner/mentee, teaching them about hunting prey, fighting, searching for treasure, and being a monster. As a result, the Forgotten can grow claws, use bioluminescent colors, have a new outfit, and can freely change into Shadow Oogie. Real-life equivalent: it was in the same year that my life changed for me when I watched Moana for the first time and actually joined Tumblr. It was Tamatoa that helped me grow and move forward in my life. 

Although they honed their skills, the Forgotten knows that they cannot control the thorns anymore and they get the motivation to protect everyone from the Forgetting, so they leave a Forgotten Relic with Tamatoa and go to a Dark Castle where they make their home there and prepare for the ultimate spell.

I’ll hold off for now on headcanons since it might get too long, but I did want to write these ideas down while they are still fresh in my mind. If you have any ideas or comments or get inspired, feel free to share!

Living with Sulley Headcanons (Dreamlight Valley AU)

A/N: I know he’s gonna be in game sooner or later I can feel it in my bones! For now take these fluffy headcanons. They can be interpreted as romantic or platonic, your choice!

After a wonderful wedding hosted in the grandiose castle in Dreamlight Valley, Mike and Celia are finally hitched!

It’s a joyous day for everyone, especially Mike now that he’s going to be moving in with his schmoopsy-poo.

James is happy for him, of course, his best friend is finally getting married! But that means the house will be rather empty without that punky little eyeball around.

So, while Mike and Celia are on their honeymoon you assure Sullivan that he can come over whenever he likes, in case the loneliness is too much for him.

He denies the accusation at first, some of that tough guy attitude he had in college still floating around in his psyche.

“Me? Lonely? Psh, c’mon, if anything I’m happy to finally get the place to myself.”

But that proves to be not true since he’s knocking on your door not even a day later, rubbing the back of his neck as he asks if he can stay in one of your spare rooms.

You can’t help but find his shyness amusing, and of course you let him in.

He tries to make idle conversation as you finish up preparing dinner, he’s still going on about the fact that the electricity here is “made of magic,” as Merlin so eloquently explained to him a few days prior.

You cooked enough to have leftovers for tomorrow, but with James P. Sullivan at the table… Yeah, good luck.

He’s a decent roommate in spite of the shedding.

He’ll kill the bugs around the house, rearrange your rooms if you ask him to, he washes the dishes himself when he’s done eating, he’s a nice guy.

If you’re afraid of something, anything, he’ll protect you from it.

If you’re scared of thunder he’ll let you into his room and hold you close, his dense arms muffling the sounds outside. If you’re scared of the dark and the power goes out he’ll carry you around as you light all the candles around the house.

When Mike and Celia finally get back from their vacation, Sulley truthfully doesn’t want to leave, but he can’t let that house you crafted for him go to waste.

He thanks you for letting him stay, and you thank him for being an excellent mattress and tell him that he’s welcome to come back anytime.

Needless to say, he treats your house like a second home.

To Minnie, the biggest liars in the valley (outside the villains, of course) are Goofy and Rose. What's scarier is that they use the exact same lie:

“I'm fine.”

Despite their smiles, Minnie can easily tell that they are not fine at all.

Goofy is grieving for his missing son, Max. With no leads, no-one knows where to look. It breaks the mouse's seeing her friend putting up a cheery front at all times.

As for Rose, Minnie could tell she was exhausted, not only physically but mentally and maybe emotionally. The Ruler was good at hiding it for a while but recently, it's beginning to slip. Minnie is trying to get the two to open up but they're not budging.

Headcanon time!

With Rose's permission, Mulan opens a martial arts school. As powerful as Dreamlight magic is, Rose thought it would be nice to have an alternative way to fight against villains.

Sulley agrees to be Mulan's assistant

It's open for everyone, her regular students are; Anna, Elsa, Rose, the Forgotten, Minne, Vanellope, Ariel and Moana.

This would be Rose next time she see Jafar or Gaston

Finished part one of the dlc and the only thing in my brain is Rose's S/O would give her lots of kisses and cuddles in bed to try and calm her overworked mind.

He's worried for mental wellbeing after dealing with two villains today and finding out there's a secret third option.

Yeah, he's not letting her do any Ruler duties this weekend.

Sad headcanon time!

Between 2am-3am, when the restaurant is empty, Mickey is there comforting Donald as he mourns for the disappearance of Daisy. The mouse knows that underneath all that anger, his friend is suffering without better half. He also understands exactly how Donald is feeling since he was the same when Minne was missing.

Rose is also aware of the situation and on most nights, goes over to serve their orders and comfort her friend. It breaks her heart to see Donald like this and hopes to find Daisy soon.

This headcanon just came to me and it needs some work.

It's late at night and Rose is at the Library of Lore, reading the many books in hopes to find out more about the Valley and its history.

Suddenly, there's a rift and a hooded figure comes through it. The Ruler summons her Hourglass to defend herself but the stranger was inhumanly fast and with their own staff, had Rose pinned against a bookshelf.

This surprised the stranger and asked Rose if she knew how to defend herself.

Rose: Comme si je voulais te dire n'importe quoi! (As if I would say anything to you!)

Stranger: Je prends ça comme un non (I'll take that as a no)

The Stranger let Rose go and tells her to follow them. When asked why, they answered, "Because I find it bizarre that the Queen of all people have no way to defend herself when there are villains are roaming around freely."

Tonight in "Tonight's Random thought"

Rose has the same pyjamas as Elsa in Frozen 2 and she loves it very much. Nice shade of purple

She has an elemental horse that she often rides around in large open areas.

Rose WILL pester Merlin about a way to convert Dreamlight magic into elemental magic.

And Rose and Elizabeth are bored enough, late night movie and/ karaoke time!

Headcanon time:

Whenever the Forgetten (who is trying to think of a name for themself) feels more upset than usual, they go over to Rose's house and stay there for the rest of the day. Rose doesn't mind and treats them to any flavour ice cream they're in a mood for along with a drink.

After that, they might play video games on a console or watch horror game playthrough with no commentary.

The first time this happened, Rose gave the Forgotten her bed while she took the couch. After that, Rose offered to make her sibling a room of their own or give them their own house. The Forgotten hasn't decided as yet as they are still getting used to the valley and they do have the Dark Castle.

In the morning, when the Forgotten is feeling better, Rose treats them to their favourite breakfast: pancakes and mocha.

(I know we can't make pancakes yet and it's a crime!)

Angst headcanon:

Rapunzel confronts Rose on how hostile she is towards Gothel and asks her to be nicer and try and get along.

Rose- of course- says no.

This lead to a full blown argument on whether or not Gothel should be given a second chance. Their yells are heard across the valley and Merlin is the one to come and stop it.

Rose has two forms. She calls them "Tall form" and "short form"

The "Tall form" is what she looks like in-game. She usually takes this form when dealing with whatever needs doing in the Valley, wheither it be requests, meetings and working at Chez Remy.

She could never get used to this form because of how tall she is compared to most of the villagers here. It bugs her a little and she can't explain why.

Her "short form" is similar to Girlfriend from "Friday Night Funkin'" in terms of build and appearance. Here, she's the same height as Minnie. She only this form inside her house and the only ones who know about it is Mickey and his friends. Sometimes, she would hang out with Minnie and Daisy late at night in this form.

She's more comfortable in this form partially due to it's height and simple appearance. She would stay in this form permanently but currently hasn't figured out how to do so.
