hey, saw your tags on my iStop notice and had to say something. if you're a nurse you really gotta take the can't leave port accessed thing super seriously. I think it may apply to all IVs but I have a port so that's what I know.
I don't think I was explicit about it: the reason it is so highly illegal has nothing to do with infection. it is specifically to prevent people from having IV access for illegal drug use.
so imagine how I feel about the port being left in now that I know what they think I wanted from the hospital.
@kelpforestdwellers
(idk how tumblr does notifications for asks so figured I'd tag you)
Yeah that makes sense as the reasoning
But still
Plenty of people have central lines out in the community - people on chemo, long term antibiotics, dyalisis, gastroparesis patients who are TPN / IV hydration / IV antiemetic dependant. And those are just the ones I have met going through y particular ward which is general medical, not specialized.
I know you have been / are going through a very long and frustrating process around getting it added to your official care plan and being properly facilitated to access your port at home.
But I have assumed that's just bureaucratic paperwork nonsense about like. Which doctor wants to put their signature to it that they've done due diligence about risk management with you. And stuff about who's job it was to organise it for you.
As opposed to being issues with just having an accessed port at home itself.
It is obviously a huge fuckup to have an /accidentally/ accessed port - but that's still to my mind mostly about infection control.
If they did actually think you were at risk of unsafe IV drug use then yes that is also a major beach of duty of care.
I just had a quick scroll through your blog and you haven't said anything about the process of discharge besides the fact that there was back and forth about when it would be. So tbh I'm confused how you also didn't know it was still accessed, as it's a whole process to de-access it unless you were expecting procedures to be done while you are unconscious. But there was so much other things you were chasing for a safe discharge that I guess it just got forgotten for you.
It sounds like that ward were not confident with the port - you mentioned them getting snotty about doing a blood draw - which is wild to me, because central lines are amazing for that. It's so easy to do a blood draw, we love it. Especially ports! Way easier than PICCs. The only issue is that a phlebotomist will not do patients with central lines, so the nurse has to do it. So it's not a 'patient refused' it's a 'not done on pleb round - awaiting nurse to do it's
So the fact that that happened implies a high percentage of nurses there aren't familiar with central lines, which almost certainly contributed to it not being on their mental checklist for when you left.
Which is a silly situation but also kinda familiar. One of our gastroparesis patients has a standing plan that if she ever needs to go to hospital, she will access her port herself and draw her own blood samples at home before she goes, because it's not worth dealing with ER staff where nobody is confident to initially access a port.
Anyway yeah
I can see the reasoning about it being bad to have an unplanned IV access for drug abuse concerns
But I still would absolutely not blink an eye about a patient coming in from home or going home with central line access. But it should be part of a clearly documented plan for discharge.
I'm in aotearoa though, so different laws obviously. If there is something similar here, I wonder if it's one of those things where they tell you as part of putting the port in in the first place, but. For anyone else it's not relevent.
I hope things start moving for you for being able to access it safely at home.

Hi, I'm trying to do art commissions, but no one has commissioned me yet. Do you have any advice for attracting customers?
I wrote a lot of words for you in hopes that at least some of it will be helpful, so I'm putting the bulk of this answer below a read more to save people the scrolling. The quick and easy two tips that I find people forget to do the most are:
Is your art easy to find? Having a pinned post with a tag for your art, a link in your bio, or an art-focused / reblog-light blog (like this one!) make it so that people know you draw, and knowing you've been posting art for a while makes you less likely to be a scammer.
Is your commission info easy to find? People can't buy things that they don't know you're selling; clear and accessible links to your prices and terms are important.
Now for the real bulky meat of advice giving, where I say a lot of words that may or may not be relevant:
I have a lot of advice, but I do want to say before getting into it:
A lot of selling art (especially in a non-industry setting, like with social media commissions) is luck.
There is no one size fits all method for selling art, and it's best to go with what feels right to you (I'll go more into this later)
Tips for selling are not necessarily tips for creating, and there will be advice in here that I don't apply to myself. Determining what you do and do not implement is something you should decide for yourself and your work flow.
Your art not selling doesn't mean nobody cares about it.
Personally I think the idea of intentionally curating a single subject demographic of Customer and Consumer for your work is limiting and doomed to burnout in a non-industry space. I will also touch more on this later.
Now for the rest of it in varying orders:
✨ Attracting Customers
This one is going first because you mentioned it specifically. It is kind of vague though, by nature of the term, so what I advise doing is specifying.
When you are thinking of a customer, are you trying to appeal to:
People who will buy pre-made art products? (Pins, stickers, prints, etc)
People who will buy custom work? (Commissions for specific subject matter)
People who will buy art resources you've created? (Fonts, bases, texture packs, 3d models etc)
There's also frequency: a repeat customer of custom art will usually be appealed to more by a wide range of options (like illustrations), while you might get more single-purchase customers if you only offer a limited range of options (like only icons).
Demographics also, of course, play a substantial role in just custom art commissions; furries get lauded as high spenders, but they're also a huge community that is focused around OCs, so by statistics alone they will have more people with spending money and will be frequent customers of people drawing OCs. A narrower audience means fewer people, but often the spread of the people within that audience is the same - and at the end of the day, selling an art piece only requires one other person, it's just a matter of happening to find them.
The follow up question is of course the finding: the average artist in fandom spaces selling commissions does not have the platform or budget for an ad campaign. This, however, is also its own category:
✨ Posting Online
Right out the gate: anyone who has told you that just drawing x thing is the way to get easy money is wrong.
"If you draw more fan art, you'll -" wrong.
"Nobody cares about that, you should be drawing this instead -" wrong.
"if you need to sell fast, just sell porn -" wrong. And also re-evaluate your perceived lack of quality or value about the subject.
The things you will be able to create easily and consistently will be the things YOU, SPECIFICALLY, like to create. It is also entirely impossible that you are the only person on earth to have ever liked those things, which means that if you create them, there are people out there who will enjoy them.
It feels itchy to be like "and those people are Potential Customers", but it is true; your work will resonate with people. They will want you to create it. It is vitally important to your own well being that the things you create, that you want others to enjoy, are things you enjoy as well.
(This is also why the "just draw porn" joking advice that gets tossed around is particularly fucked up. You as the artist should not feel forced into drawing things you aren't comfortable with, and the vast majority of customers for explicit content also don't want the people making it to feel forced into doing so. It's basic consent. I have strong feelings about this.)
If you are creating things and putting them out into the world, they will find an audience. That audience may be one singular person! The number does not matter, because that's still a person who - again, sucks to frame ig this way - has the potential to buy things from you.
If you're constantly chasing a bigger follower count, more interactions, etc etc for the future, it can genuinely be pretty taxing on the people who want to support you in the present. When you enjoy someone's work, and want to support them, being told constantly that that support is not good enough is frustrating. Trying to follow your work should not lead to seeing more "likes are WORTHLESS and NOBODY reblogs my things" posts than it does art. You are a person making things to share with other people, and you have to remember it or you will burn yourself out into a desiccated husk.
TL:DR consistency is key and the easiest way to be consistent is to just draw whatever the fuck you live drawing in whatever ways you want to draw it, and then slap it on the internet somewhere and Keep Doing That
✨ The Actual Commission Information
this one is just factual really. A lot of artists have really shitty commission sheet layouts, because advertising graphic design and illustrative art are different skill sets. That's fine. You don't have to remake the wheel. A good commission sheet should include:
More images than text (if you can't see what the examples are when zoomed out, you have to rearrange or cut down on words)
Examples organized by price / type, and clearly labeled
Your personal favourites for examples - one really strong example piece is better than twenty tiny images of work you think is just "okay"
Contact information - having a method that works WITHOUT a social media account (email.) Is important and way easier to keep organized, imo
A SIMPLE list of strengths (the things you draw the best) and things you won't draw (common example: mechs). You do not need to list every fandom or subject matter. Limit yourself to a top five.
A clear and easy to type link for your terms of service. Carrd, and sites like it, is good for this. This will go into details about your process, what you will and won't do, permissions granted to the commissioner (like "no, you can't make an NFT with this"), your privacy policy (saying you won't sell commissioner details to third parties), and other stuff. You do not want to have all of this on your original post, because it should be thorough and you want your main post to be showcasing your work and not your legalese. Here's mine as a reference; if you have trouble writing your own, feel free to copy from it and make the necessary alterations for your work.
✨ There Was More I Was Going To Write But I Forgot
I have a different document of commission related talk here, which is also incomplete but in a different way. It's in my nature. Hopefully some combination of this and that can be useful to you. Sorry if they're not. I love you have a nice day

hi! hope this is an alright question to ask, but i really really wanted to start adding IDs to my posts and stuff! im worried my IDs that ive done before are too long and detailed, so do you have any tips for ID writing? thank you in advance if you answer this!! =^.^=
QUESTIONS OF LOVE AND JOY
Tbh the biggest bit of advice I can give to anyone wanting to write IDs is that literally any ID is better than no ID even if you think it's too long. Genuinely just give it a shot and the more you do it the more you'll get a feel for it, just like any other skill!
If it's my own post, I start by identifying the type of image ("a screenshot of", "fanart of", "original character art of"), then identify the subject, then a quick verb or adjective about the subject. So
[ID: (image type) of (subject). (Subject) is (adjective and/or verb). End ID]
Yoinking my pfp: [ID: a PNG (image type) of a sticker sheet (subject) of holographic stars, moons and suns (adjective!). End ID]
Everyone who uses IDs will have different preferences for them. U could ask 20 people who require IDs for images about them and get 20 different answers. AFAIK the general consensus is that many prefer brief IDs because screen readers take yonks to read it out? But you do want to make sure you don't miss out relevant context.
IME the most accessible thing to do is write one directly under the original post (NO read more) and in plain text. small text (small text) or coloured text (coloured text) might or might not be picked up by screen readers but is gonna be difficult to read for many people with low vision, which is the main demographic IDs are used for.
uhh what else. There's a difference between an ID (image description under the post) and ALT text (embedded in the html of the image) and there's no single agreement on which is better (see paragraph 2) but sometimes a screen reader will skip the whole post if there's an image with no ALT text. Good practice is to put a very brief (1-2 sentences) in ALT text and the fuller ID under the post, like how my mutual's done it here.
There's more i could probably say but this is quite long whoops so linking some more posts about them for you here, here, here and here!
Also also if you want to make a huge difference to accessibility on your blog you can search through the notes of a post to see if there's already one (copy and paste it to your version if you want a different reblog chain! the writer won't mind!) and tag image posts with no ID as #undescribed or equivalent.
#💌#parbelle-time#long post#<- geniunely so sorry about how long that is please do ask for clarification or a summary if you need. whoops#accessibility#online accessibility#image descriptions#but YEAH THANK YOU FOR ASKING AND BEING INTERESTED MWAH

Hi! I’ve been trying to make an introductory post for my WoL, but when I tried doing so freeform it ended up overly long and full of rambling. I’ve searched for templates all over the internet, but the only ones I can find are in the general style of D&D character sheets that include irrelevant information about stats while not properly dedicating space to the actual character traits. I saw the format you used for your OCs, and it seems to be about what I’m looking for. Is there any chance you could provide a blank template along those lines for me and others who might have the same problem?
Funnily, while I keep them all similar, I didn't have a template before now. Also reminds me I need to do some updating and revision on my own OCs, it's been awhile and they can use a refresh for character and plot updates.
I recommend making static pages over posts; easier to track and edit. I am a stickler for organization, so keep my pinned post to the bare basics with links to the profiles and other pages, to keep from stretching the post to a mile long, in part, and to keep the info where it's easily read and relevant. Also because mobile app view won't show one's theme and links, and the pinned post is more likely to be seen and accessible than a sidebar or menu.
I have tutorials on how to set a custom theme (and access full blog features) as well as how to create those static blog pages. Tumblr may have made some updates since, but the gist is the same, and the Help pages have newer details if necessary.
I do urge keeping colors and format simple, accessible, and reader friendly, including screen reader friendly. A row of asterisks or tildes as a separator line are usually individually read out by screen readers, as is the code used to make those fancy hard-to-read gothic letters folks use for "aesthetics." In a lot of my profiles, I split sections with images of the character (which should also use alt text if we're trying to be kind and inclusive, and it's to the point of a profile page anyway).
I think I will put the intro and template here in the post under a cut, and then in a Reply Comment add a link to the Google Doc version, cuz of how Tumblr is about external links. An actual blank copy-pasta is on the GDoc, what's below has some thought processes for each section for guidance.
This a pretty modular template, that can be added to or subtracted from as needed. Move descriptive blocks around as they seem more or less relevant for your OC, substitute things that make sense over things that don’t; this is just a starting point!
I see these as broad strokes; a quick introduction and general overview of your character, meant to give an at-a-glance idea of who they are. It’s handy for other writers and artists, and even oneself for keeping track of some details. I recommend practicing succinct writing here; these blocks should each stay between 100-300 words or thereabouts. Use links to other pages and tags to point toward longer details and stories (and keep them handy for yourself!). It also makes it much easier when you want to revise things when characterization marches forward, or if you want to retcon something entirely.
But these are all just my opinions and ideas on how I approach OC profiles after making them in some form or another for about a quarter century. Make it as long or short as it needs to be, change it up, go nuts, I ain’t your mom, and so on 😉
-
Statistics: The basics; barebones, at-a-glance stat blocks, handy for quick reference. Can be added to or shortened as needed. If a stat starts to word wrap on a standard screen, trim it and move that extra detail to the “Description” paragraph below the list.
Race: (for FF14 fantasy possibilities) Nationality: (or Ethnicity, whatever works. Where are they from, as that helps shape them?) Height: (both feet/inches and centimeters are handy here) Eyes: Build: (I prefer this to weight, as that’s ridiculously variable depending on one’s build, which is more important visually anyway; are they broad, stocky, skinny, muscular, stringy, etc) Hair: (color, type, texture, preferred lengths and styling) Skin: (sometimes I fold scars into here, if there’s nothing too outstanding) Scars: Voice: (how do they sound?) Nameday: Age: (depends on your personal timeline for your OCs, but I recommend an age range over specifics; mid-20s, 25-35, late teens, a little over a century, etc. Less updating and fits with the handwaved time bubble anyway) Disciplines: (what are their main job[s]? The adventuring or professional skills they’ve learned?) Hobbies: Birthplace: Current Home: Occupation: (Their actual day job, different from or part of their disciplines?) Signature Items: (A particular weapon? A piece of jewelry? Always wear a specific coat?)
Description: A very short "immediate impressions" type description; what would someone "on the street" see when meeting/looking at your character on a typical day? Taking some of the info from the stats but then how you want those barebone facts to be seen; is the OC elegant, or rough? Expensive clothes or simple attire? Any particular smells, or sounds? I recommend around 100 words.
Biography: Very brief, general overview of the backstory that led them to the point where they become a story protagonist (adventurer, the WoL, or other roleplay archetype). Don't have to go into great detail, keep it short and simple; it's a blurb that sets up how they got here in broad strokes. I think my longest bio is around 300 words, and it probably shouldn’t go over that here.
To get more details, one can always link to specific stories, or to a tag. I have multiple OCs, so I might make my tags something like "Aeryn Backstory" or "Iyna Lore" or "Punchy History" or some combo thereof (I usually try to keep them consistent though for ease).
Persona: What face do they present to the world? How are they perceived by the public, acquaintances, coworkers, family, actual friends? Some of these answers will be the same, some may change depending on if and how they code switch in various social situations.
From there, what lies underneath the surface? What are some general internal attitudes, traits, feelings?
A hundred words for outward demeanor and another one hundred for innermost self ought to cover the general broad strokes.
Romance: If so inclined, details about the OC's relationship details; sexual and romantic orientations, relationship history, current situations, how they view and approach intimacy (or not!).
Links to relationship tags or stories or art can work well here, too.
Echo: Does the OC have an Echo at all? Is it a "typical" Echo, or do they have some special abilities, some things they're better at than others? How does it affect them, how do they feel about it?
This is another section that may be a free space section to remove or swap to something else relevant to the character.
Hobbies: The stuff outside of work and heroics. Ways they relax, special interests, side jobs, things they enjoy, and so on. This can be an expansion of the listing in the stat block, or you can cut out one or the other to avoid redundancy.
Companions: What’s their chocobo like, or do they have another favored mount? What pet(s) do they have? Are they practically a Disney Princess? Have a familiar? Do they prefer arcane entities? Technological constructs? Or do they eschew companions entirely?
How to find the OC in game: This is where I list things like realm and data center, and addresses for the FC house and personal house or apartment. Not necessary if you don't want folks to go looking.
Links: The links can be scattered through the post in relevant sections, or gathered together here. I tend to put my basic tag for the character, if I have an aesthetic tag for them, their story tags, any links to art references or other miscellaneous items I want easily found for myself and others. I often put this close to the top if a profile is longer and I want those links to be quick referenced.
OOC: Any particular notes one wants to make about the character from a meta perspective. Can also be combined with the Links.

Maximizing Your Reach: A Guide on How to Promote Your Facebook Business Page
In today’s digital age, a Facebook Business Page is a powerful asset for growing your brand and engaging with a broad audience. Knowing how to promote your Facebook business page effectively can make the difference between a page that gains followers steadily and one that struggles to engage. Here’s a step-by-step guide to ensure your page stands out and attracts a loyal following.
1. Optimize Your Page from the Ground Up
Before launching promotion efforts, make sure your page is polished and professional. A strong profile photo (typically your logo), a compelling cover image, and a well-written bio that clearly conveys your brand’s essence are essential. Include keywords relevant to your business to improve searchability, both on Facebook and through search engines.
2. Use Facebook’s In-Built Tools to Increase Visibility
Facebook offers several built-in tools designed to help you reach a wider audience. The “Invite Friends” feature lets you send invites to your personal contacts, which is a quick way to gain initial followers. Additionally, adding a “Follow” button to your website or email signature can attract users already interested in your brand.
3. Create and Share Valuable Content Regularly
High-quality, engaging content is the backbone of successful social media marketing. Share a mix of content types—such as videos, infographics, blog links, and customer testimonials. Be consistent with your posts, aiming for a posting frequency that fits your audience. Ideally, mix evergreen content with timely posts related to current trends or news in your industry.
4. Leverage Facebook Ads for Targeted Reach
Investing in Facebook ads can amplify your promotional efforts significantly. Ads allow you to target specific demographics, such as age, location, interests, and behaviors, ensuring that your posts reach the people most likely to engage with your brand. Whether it's a post boost, a carousel ad, or a video ad, you can fine-tune your ad campaigns to attract followers and increase engagement.
5. Use Engagement to Your Advantage
Interacting with your audience is a must. Reply to comments on your posts, respond to private messages promptly, and engage with user-generated content that mentions your brand. Encouraging reviews and testimonials builds credibility, while actively engaging with users fosters loyalty. Asking followers to share their experiences or answer questions related to your industry can also lead to higher organic reach.
6. Host Giveaways and Contests
Contests and giveaways are highly effective for attracting new followers. Offer something valuable—whether it’s a product, a discount, or exclusive access—and encourage users to like, share, or tag friends in your post. Make sure to keep the entry steps simple to maximize participation and follow Facebook’s contest guidelines to avoid any issues.
7. Collaborate with Influencers and Partner Pages
Partnering with influencers or complementary brands allows you to tap into their audiences. Choose influencers whose followers align with your target market. Even small or local influencers can make a big impact if their audience is engaged. Consider offering a joint giveaway or hosting a co-branded live event to gain visibility.
8. Go Live for Real-Time Engagement
Facebook Live allows you to connect with your audience in real time, giving you a way to share behind-the-scenes looks, answer questions, or host mini-events like product launches. Live videos can generate higher engagement and rank favorably in Facebook’s algorithm, helping you reach more people.
9. Analyze Your Performance and Adjust Accordingly
Utilize Facebook Insights to track your page’s performance. Key metrics like reach, engagement, and follower growth can guide you in refining your strategy. If certain posts perform well, analyze why and consider creating similar content. Adjust your posting frequency, content types, or ad targeting based on what resonates with your audience.
10. Encourage Word-of-Mouth Marketing
Encourage loyal customers to share your page with their own networks. Offer exclusive discounts or incentives to followers who refer friends or family. Additionally, including social media icons on your website, newsletters, and other marketing materials can make it easy for customers to find and follow your page.
Conclusion
With the right strategies, promoting your Facebook Business Page can significantly expand your brand’s reach and foster a strong online community. By using consistent, targeted efforts, and focusing on creating quality content, you’ll effectively master how to promote your Facebook business page and turn it into a valuable asset for your business growth.

In the Solar industry, this number is very important as it highlights the need to have a strong presence on online platforms. This involves using relevant keywords in descriptive file names and alt texts so that search engines index the images. Moreover, compressing images for reduced file size without compromising quality can result in faster page loads, which is an important aspect of SEO.

It improves other important aspects like page load speed, mobile optimization, and overall structure. Thus, your website would be able to satisfy an engine’s requirements and provide a smooth user experience.
Site Speed: The loading time has a significant impact on the satisfaction levels of users and search engine rankings. To improve page speed, you should optimize your images, use a browser caching system, and minimize JavaScript. This can be done by your technical team.
Mobile Optimization: Over 63% of global web traffic in 2023 came from mobile devices, and this number is increasing. So, mobile optimization is more important than ever. Being mobile-friendly means having responsive designs that go well with diverse screen sizes, therefore creating a positive user experience on any device.
Site Structure: A simple yet logical site structure makes it easy for both users and search engines to navigate through your site. A clear hierarchy in folders and internal linking can improve both structures and help crawlers.
XML Sitemaps: In indexing the pages of your website, XML sitemaps play an important role in leading search engines. Hence, when submitting these sitemaps to different search engines, they will ensure that all your vital pages are indexed, hence optimizing your solar SEO efforts.
Advantages of Technical SEO for Solar Websites: Faster page load speeds, mobile-friendly website, improved website crawlability, and enhanced user experience.

One of the pivotal strategies to achieve this is through effective website optimization and paid search optimization. Companies, like Quick Website SEO, specialize in these techniques to help businesses reach their full potential online. Understanding Website Optimization
website optimization firm encompasses a variety of strategies aimed at enhancing a website's performance, user experience, and visibility in search engines. The goal is to attract more traffic, engage visitors, and ultimately convert them into customers. Key aspects of website optimization include:
On-Page SEO
On-page SEO involves optimizing individual web pages to rank higher in search engine results and attract relevant traffic. This includes optimizing meta tags, headings, content, images, and URLs. Ensuring that your website is mobile-friendly and loads quickly also falls under on-page SEO.
Content Quality
High-quality, relevant content is crucial for website optimization. Search engines prioritize websites that provide valuable information to users. Regularly updating your website with fresh content, such as blog posts, articles, and infographics, can significantly boost your search engine rankings.
Technical SEO
Technical SEO focuses on the backend aspects of your website. This includes improving site speed, ensuring proper indexing, fixing broken links, and enhancing the overall site architecture. A technically sound website is more likely to perform well in search engine rankings.
User Experience (UX)
A positive user experience is paramount for website optimization. This involves creating an intuitive navigation structure, ensuring fast loading times, and making the website accessible on various devices. A seamless user experience can lead to higher engagement and lower bounce rates.
The Role of Paid Search Optimization
Paid search optimization, often referred to as pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, involves placing ads on search engines and other platforms to drive targeted traffic to your website. Quick Website SEO excels in this area, providing businesses with the expertise to optimize their paid search campaigns effectively. Key elements of paid search optimization include:
Keyword Research
Identifying the right keywords is the foundation of a successful paid search campaign. Comprehensive keyword research ensures that your ads appear for relevant search queries, maximizing the chances of reaching potential customers.
Ad Copy
Crafting compelling ad copy is essential to attract clicks and conversions. Your ads should be concise, informative, and include a clear call-to-action (CTA). A/B testing different ad copies can help determine which ones resonate best with your audience.
Landing Pages
The landing page is where users are directed after clicking on your ad. Optimizing landing pages for conversions is crucial. This includes creating relevant and engaging content, using persuasive CTAs, and ensuring a seamless user experience.
Budget Management
Effective budget management is vital for maximizing the return on investment (ROI) of your paid search campaigns. Regularly monitoring and adjusting your budget based on performance metrics can help allocate resources to the most successful campaigns.
Integrating Website Optimization and Paid Search Optimization
While website optimization and paid search optimisation are powerful individually, combining them can yield even greater results. Here’s how these strategies can complement each other:
Enhanced Visibility
By optimizing your website for search engines and running paid search campaigns, you can achieve higher visibility in both organic and paid search results. This dual approach increases the chances of reaching a broader audience.
Improved Quality Scores
Search engines, like Google, assign quality scores to paid ads based on their relevance and performance. A well-optimized website can improve the quality scores of your ads, leading to lower costs per click and better ad placements.
Higher Conversion Rates
An optimized website provides a seamless user experience, which can lead to higher conversion rates. When users land on a well-optimized page from a paid ad, they are more likely to engage with your content and complete desired actions.
Measuring Success
To ensure that your website optimization and paid search optimization efforts are paying off, it's essential to track and analyze performance metrics. Key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor include:
Traffic and Engagement
Monitor website traffic, bounce rates, and time spent on site to gauge the effectiveness of your optimization efforts. High engagement metrics indicate that users find your content valuable.
Conversion Rates
Track conversion rates to measure the success of both organic and paid search strategies. This includes monitoring form submissions, product purchases, and other desired actions on your website.
Return on Investment (ROI)
Calculate the ROI of your paid search campaigns by comparing the cost of ads to the revenue generated. A positive ROI indicates that your campaigns are delivering value to your business.
Conclusion
In today's competitive digital landscape, website optimization and paid search optimization are essential strategies for businesses aiming to maximize their online presence. Quick Website SEO specializes in these areas, providing businesses with the expertise needed to succeed. By integrating website optimization with paid search campaigns, businesses can achieve higher visibility, improved conversion rates, and a better return on investment. Making Short-Form Content SEO-Friendly: Keywords, Hashtags, and More
Search engines have revolutionized the way we access information and locate products or services online. Whilst long-form content has become synonymous with SEO, the rise of social media and the brief attention span of modern consumers have increased the popularity of short-form content. But can this bite-sized content be optimized for SEO? The answer is a resounding yes! This blog post will guide you through the best practices for making your short-form content SEO-friendly using keywords, hashtags, and more.
What is Short-Form Content?
Short-form content refers to content that is relatively quick to consume. Examples include social media posts, blog teasers, short videos, infographics, and articles of approximately 400 words or less.
The Impact of Short-Form Content on SEO
With the right optimization, short-form content can drive traffic, increase user engagement, generate shares, and build backlinks, all contributing to the SEO strength of your website. Here's how to optimize your concise content:
1. Choose the Right Keywords
Even with limited words, relevant keywords play a critical role in SEO. The trick lies in finding the right keywords that can fit gracefully and naturally into your copy. Use keyword research tools to understand what phrases and terms your target audience is using to find content related to your industry. Once you've identified these, incorporate them into your short-form content such as in your titles, descriptions, and tags.
2. Utilize the Power of Hashtags
Hashtags are superb tools for enhancing the SEO of short-form content, especially on social media channels. They act as keywords that channel users to your content and increase your visibility. To use hashtags effectively, choose ones that are specific and relevant to your content. Also, make sure they are popular enough to be searched regularly but not so popular that your content gets lost in the crowd.
3. Structured Data and Schema Markup
Structured data and schema markups can enhance your SEO efforts, even in a short-form content setting. These are code snippets added to your HTML that help search engines understand the nuances of your content, inducing them to produce more rich and informative search results — thus improving click-through rates (CTR).
4. Master Meta Titles and Descriptions
Meta titles and descriptions, though concise, can play a significant role in improving your SEO. A well-optimized meta title and description, containing relevant keywords, can significantly enhance the visibility of your content. They also serve as a brief snapshot of your content, motivating potential visitors to click and engage.
5. Prioritize High-Quality Content
Regardless of length, high-quality content is essential to successful SEO. Make sure your short-form content is packed with valuable insights and presented in a way that appeals to your target audience. Quality content is more likely to be shared, and this could generate valuable backlinks, boosting your SEO performance.
In Conclusion
Short-form content and SEO can indeed coexist effectively, despite the constraints on word count. With the right strategies, your bite-sized content pieces can achieve the same traffic-boosting, share-generating, brand-enhancing impact as a long-form content piece. Remember, when it comes to content, size doesn't always matter; what truly counts is how you optimize it to reach and engage your audience.

Hello! I've been involved in the trans community here for years now, but unfortunately I felt the need to make a new account, completely separate from my old one, to feel safer talking about transandrophobia. I do not plan to disclose my assigned gender or whether I identify as transfem, transmasc, transneutral, and/or something else.
Quick rundown of my relevant beliefs:
transandrophobia/transmisandry is a real thing, and transmascs get to have a word for it
positive masculinity should be celebrated, especially queer and trans masculinity
you can explore and enjoy whatever you want in fiction, roleplay, and thoughts/fantasies
callouts are almost always a form of crowdsourced abuse
abuse, including harassment, is never justified; human rights cannot be lost
anti-police, anti-prison, anti-death penalty
all good-faith identities should be respected and accepted
I try to avoid directly arguing with people, as I don't think it's super helpful and it's bad for my mental health, but the primary purpose of my blog is to post about those issues.
I write image descriptions occasionally! I'd love it if you added them to the original post or other reblog chains. No credit necessary for that. Tags I use for accessible/inaccessible posts: described, not described, transcribed, not transcribed, captions in video.
Content warning system: cw __, cw __ mention. Feel free to request warnings, excluding ones for reclaimed slurs (which you can use Tumblr's post text blocking system to avoid).
My URL is a reference to this post accusing people of being transmisogynistic conspiracy theorists for talking about transandrophobia.
No DNI, but again, I'm not interested in arguments, and you'll get blocked if you're rude. (This doesn't apply to asking honest questions or bringing up non-bigoted disagreements in good faith!)

Rules:
No NSFW. This blog is 13+ for mild violence and blood. (Potentially triggering themes and flashing images will be tagged. Please ask if a tag needs to be added.)
Do not spam my askbox! I (the mod) physically can’t get to every single question, and sometimes another asker words the question better, or I don’t have an interesting answer. Sending the same ask in every few minutes just makes me far less inclined to answer you.
Swearing is allowed, but discouraged, as the characters and I do not swear. (Any in character swearing will be censored.)
No roleplay is allowed. Period. This is not a roleplay blog. Do not ask for your character to be added, or take on a role in the replies.
No Magic!Anon. This is a story-driven askblog, so magic anon asks don’t work here. This also means that askers cannot physically interact with/summon anything, characters or objects. In universe, askers are only voices in the characters’ heads.
I reserve the right to block anyone I don’t want interacting with the blog anymore for whatever reason. Harassment of any kind towards me, the writers, other askers/commenters, the characters, or anyone else, will not be tolerated.
Please be patient. One person can only do so much, and big updates typically take a while to produce. I’m in college now, so I’m very busy, and I need breaks just like any other human being.
———
The ask box is almost always open, but will close during specified intermissions, and only a few characters will be available for questions at any given time. (The mod is always available for asks!)
Voting for choices will be done through Tumblr’s poll system. These polls will close approximately 24 hours after the post is made, unless it is a quick time event choice, in which the poll will be closed after an hour. Votes made in the ask box or in the replies will not be counted.

A redesign of Tumblr mobile
(Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Tumblr in any way. Any opinions I express in this post are my own. I’m just somebody who has been on Tumblr for many years and wanted to try my hand at redesigning it. I recognize that there may be potential flaws in the following post, and these faults are 100% my own and no one else’s. In an ideal world i’d have access to insider metrics, but in any case this isn’t meant to be collectively exhaustive in any way.)
Hello there! I picked up this redesign project in January and i’ve decided to publish this now, since I wasn’t sure how long it’d take me to do a full write up. I’ve talked to around 100 people over the course of these 2 months and i’ve ran multiple rounds of tests, and I felt bad about leaving everyone hanging. So, here are the results with brief explanations for now! I intend to type out the full process and design rationale at a later date. If you received a message about this within the last 2 months and answered me, thank you so much!
Alright, let’s get started. At the time of writing, Tumblr for iOS is currently on version 19.0. (Warning: this is a long post, there are badly compressed big gifs.)
Adding Tags
During interviews and in surveys (n=83, python and excel really came in clutch when sorting through the data haha), people often told me they avoided reblogging on mobile due to the large hassle of typing every tag out, opting to save them to drafts instead and add tags later. In terms of data, given that people hit reblog (82% of all users surveyed), 84% of these people also liked to add tags, so it was clear that facilitating the tagging system would be important. To help solve this, I designed a method for people to quickly add tags to post topics they often reblogged. As well as being accessible from pressing the tagging area on the posting screen, this can be accessed from the hold menu, to speed up the interaction even more.
Another issue that commonly cropped up was the multitude of possible ways to tag a trigger warning. If somebody missed out a tagging method for a TW, they still ran the risk of seeing it on their dashboard. I added a toggle for tagging something as a trigger warning, which would suggest what others commonly added (and you can type your own). This saves people from having to tag “tw:xyz” “tw: xyz” “tw xyz” “cw xyz” etc. (you get the point!) and makes sure that “xyz” is unambiguously marked as a trigger warning. (Can internet strangers be trusted to tag sensitive content properly? Quick study here)
(Reblogging with the hold menu on the left. Posting on the right. If Tumblr displays them top to bottom instead of side by side (I'll let it slide, I know they're reworking the web post editor right now), the top post=left. the bottom post=right. If you’re viewing this on my blog page, please click on the gifs!)
A bonus: A ‘read more’ button has been added back to mobile. Scrolling through long posts gets tedious sometimes, and people like to talk about more personal thoughts under read mores, so i’ve made it easier to access the feature.
Liking Posts
89% percent of users reported that they liked to hold on to posts for future retrieval. With this in mind, I added in a feature to categorize likes, making searching through your likes for future retrieval easier. The ability to like quickly without sorting is retained, added to a hold menu like a quick reblog. After liking, users are also prompted to reblog (PSA: reblogging helps spread OC around! please reblog OC you like more!)
(Liking on tap on the left. Quick liking with the hold menu on the right.)
Your likes can be found and sorted under your blog.
Recommended For You
Tumblr is fundamentally about exploring and sharing content about topics you love, so I tried to rearrange the navigation to make it easier for users to look at new content about the things they like. The tabs are now rearranged so that new content is easier to find from the homescreen. To ensure relevance, followed tags are now toggles, so the user can pick and choose exactly what they want to see in the recommended tab if they want to. A radar post has also been placed in this tab to increase exposure to featured content creators. (Does being on the radar help out OC posters? Quick study here)
Exploring, and search results
Now that stuff recommended for you has been moved next to the dashboard, the explore page now defaults to trending posts. The top/recent page for tags you followed are now located in the search bar menu. Upon clicking on a search term, you can sort through recent/top posts and post types separately. For example, if you felt like looking at some new fanart that day, all you would have to do is sort by recent photo posts instead of having to sift through every recent post, making it easier for new OC to be discovered.

Practical Tips on getting your fics out there!
I’ve gotten an influx of these types of questions here recently, and the more i thought about what i was gonna add, it became really long :(
disclaimer: a lot of the things i bring up are just from personal experience as a writer on this site, what my followers have told me they appreciate, and what i tend to look for when im looking for fics to read! If you don’t like these tips then pls move on :)
although i’ll mention them, i’m also not going to be focusing on cliche tips like “write for yourself” or “grammar issues” cause those are pretty obvious!
1. accessibility of your blog
when you’re trying to get your name out there, make sure that you’re creating an inviting experience for any potential followers! this includes:
a memorable url! be creative!
have some fun designing your blog’s aesthetic! (i love cute blogs because it reflects a bit of the writer’s personality), and (i prefer blogs with white backgrounds because it’s easier to look through/read, say, in contrast to a pitch black one where the words need to be white!)
put your masterlist link in your bio (even better if you can link most recent fic! found this most helpful when i revisit authors that i like and can easily see if they’ve updated or not)
an organized and easy-to-navigate masterlist (personally, i prefer masterlists organized by band, instead of types of fics ie. i hate when i have to choose between drabbles, oneshots, and series masterlists; i really prefer to see them altogether!) --> see section 3
organized tags (if you’re going to be posting a lot of non-fic-related content like pictures or videos, tag them properly so followers can sort through and find your fics easily!), or (if you’re going to be writing in different mediums like drabbles, or answering asks, make sure to use a unified #mine or #writing or #fics to centralize your content)
2. get your name out there!
write write write! once you have some fics that show your talent, don’t be shy!
join writing groups: when i first started out, I joined a bunch of groups that would reblog my fics in the midst of the content of much bigger writers; these blogs developed a following, and as a result of my content mixing in with bigger blogs’ content, so did my own tumblr! there’s been a stigma recently with these groups, but im sure you can find one thats supportive and not clique-y!
send your fics to rec pages: what’s the harm? the only bad thing that can happen is that they ignore you! who cares! get out there!
if you can do the above, i really encourage you to ask your fave writers for advice/to read your fic: again, the worst that can happen is that they say no or don’t respond or don’t have enough time, but it’ll be a good opportunity to get some feedback! i for one read (or try to read) every single rec that falls into my inbox. if i like it, i’ll #rec it, and if i don’t, unless the writer asks me for feedback, i move on!!
utilize your tags!!: i’m not entirely sure if this is still the same or not, but from my memory, it’s the first 3-5 tags that matter the most? so utilize them well; push back the tags that aren’t really relevant (ie. #writing, #fics) and push more the main subject line of what you wrote (ie. jungkook fluff, bts smut, namjoon angst). these will populate your fics into the tags better!
headers!: when i’m scrolling through an infinite page of fics, the headers catch my eye the most; try being creative! you can find a lot of info out there on how to make ur headers super aesthetic, but i can share my tips too! --> see section 3
3. your masterlist
here are some practical tips!
organize by band, not type of fic/member/centralize your masterlist: i went onto a blog recently and clicked their bio mlist link to find a page full of 20~ish “JUNGKOOK MASTERLIST”/ “JAEHYUN MASTERLIST” and when i clicked on each one, they only had like 2 or 3 fics per member. i think it would’ve been better if she’d centralized all her fics! that keeps whoever is looking interested and more likely to click on another fic while browsing
add info about the fics!: when scrolling through a masterlist, it’s easy to get lost; try to add some snippets of info (ie. a short sentence you liked from the fic, a quick summary, a description of the au/scenario, or even a header!) this all gives some info about the fics you have tagged!
headers: this isn’t a requirement, but i personally love a good header on fics i read and i love making them myself as i finish up a fic and get ready to upload it; here are free sources: unsplash for HQ stock pics, crop/edit/filter in VSCO, and then add aesthetic script with fontcandy)
try to fill it up!: after i visit a blog after reading one good fic, i usually browse through their mlist to see if there are any more that i’d be interested in. if there’s a lot to look forward to, i’ll almost always follow; try to write as much as you can in the first few months to try and fill up your mlist and give blog viewers a reason to visit your blog again, follow, or even reblog your content!)
4. try not to reproduce cliche fics:
honestly tumblr’s writing community (and armys) has grown insanely these past few years and, unfortunately, even from my perspective, in the past 3-4 years, all the writers have sort of become blended together in my brain. but, i can say that the ones who consistently stand out are the ones who produce consistent content and think outside of the box!
i tend to gravitate towards fics that have really interesting plotlines (ex. btssavedmylifeblr’s VOID is always a surprise to read because it’s sO unique! i usually don’t read ot7 fics but this one is legit my fave)
I know it’s tempting to try and just write typical smut fics to try and gain some traction, but tumblr is already too overloaded by that kind of content; try to write something that’s special and unique! this will set u apart from the thousands of other writers here --> see next section
5. create unique fics:
this is also personal to my writing style, but i get so bored writing just casual fics about the members, and it affects the fics i choose to read too; i prefer unique fics which you can achieve through:
circumstance/au: create a fun au!; don’t just create an arranged marriage, create an arranged marriage in joseon dynasty, or between a werewolf and a hunter! (shameless self plug); don’t just give me friends to lovers, but give me spiderman!jungkook friends to lovers! (ie. cupofteaguk’s exchanges)
jobs: give them out-of-the-ordinary jobs; don’t just give me enemies to lovers, but give me rival!anchors who end up loving eachother! (ie. jimlingss The Newscasters)
fun dialogue: create good back-and-forth, (something i’m still working on!)! this will help your characters develop personality, and that way, readers will start to develop that themselves as well (ie. dad!yoongi from insemination wars by prolixitae is such a specific character that i love so much!, or obiwrites’ garden characters were so memorable!)
create memorable personalities: don’t give me a flat character, try to develop 4d personalities in all of your characters! (im still working on this too!) this way you can really make an impression on your followers! a great way to practice/recognize this is: “Ask my Character.” Can your followers ask a specific character a specific question, and would you be able to deliver an answer that is very specific to that character’s tone/voice/personality? If yes, then ur doing well! If not, try to think of ways that you can make tht specific character from a specific story, really unique and separate from your other characters.
6. some practical writing tips
be yourself, write for your own pleasure, blah blah blah; yeah you know already haha but here are a few more practical tips!
grammar check: if you can, try and hone your grammar! makes for an easier read
write like you: i personally LOVE this by obiwrites, but even the way she writes exudes her personality and is so specific; try not to be caught up in adding hundreds of synonyms and exquisite language; in fact, simpling it down and being more concise and honest with your writing is better than a superfluous sentence; this will also give ur characters so much more dimension and funk
use those commas/sentence variation: try to use more commas; this will feel like you’re the narrator to your own story; it also makes it more fluid to read in my opinion, over those short. clipped. sentences. (ie. “he came over, sitting down on the corner of your bed with an expression you’d never seen before” over “he walked over. he sat down, looking sad.”)
half-half dialogue/narration: a fic with too much dialogue can get confusing, and a fic with too much narration can get dry; try to balance them out, and weave in and out of each!
quality over quantity: don’t feel burdened to write a 30k word fic. in fact, i think some of the shorter fics (ie. any of versigny’s stuff) made a bigger impression on me over the longer fics because they were short, left me wanting more, and were just so high-quality in such small quantities. try out your hand at drabbles and one-shots, and don’t feel too burdened to try and develop a series right off the bat!
abandon pigeon-holes: i’m guilty of this; i start series and then end up with no vision for the stories and they end up giving me writers block. its okay. just stop or discontinue them or leave them on a hiatus; it’s okay. your priority is yourself, and if abandoning certain works are part of that, then go ahead. it’ll help you progress more.
and finally.......
i’ll add more as they come up! but if you liked this, then pls lmk! i’d love to give more tips and tricks; i think i started this blog 3-4 years ago when there weren’t as many writers here, but im glad you’re thinking of starting out/wanting to grow more! don’t feel intimidated! it’s not all about the notes/followers but creating a blog you’re proud of.
so write what you’re proud of, or interested in, and keep going. i truly thoroughly had so much fun writing this post. if there are any writers who read through this and have some more advice, pls msg me!
all the best to you!

update!—
hi friends! I have a gift for u: a very quick update. this one isn’t nearly as serious as the last one, it’s just a few things I wanted to note about the progress of this blog! so w/o further ado, let’s get started. __________________________________________
i. GOING BACK TO SUGGESTIONS.
omg I’m so sorry that this has to be an update at all _(:3」∠)_ I’ve spent the last couple weeks focusing on my own prompts / ask games but now it’s time to get back to suggestions. there are currently eight suggestions in the inbox, which I’m hoping to pound out this next week and a half.
ii. SAVING WORD PROMPTS FROM TWO WEEKS AGO.
I posted an ask game for word / phrase prompts about two weeks ago. I haven’t forgotten about these, I promise! I’m just saving them for when I’m in the mood to write a fic, so you’ll see me posting these periodically as that urge kicks in. there are about ten of these left that I’m interested in, but I might delete them if I can’t think of anything.
iii. FRIDAYS WILL NOW BE RESERVED FOR ASK GAMES.
you’ve probably noticed me doing this already ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ these are great opportunities to send me something when my askbox is closed for suggestions. ask games will consist of sentence prompts, miscellaneous headcanons, or questions about me (though it’ll mostly focus on the first two). as a sidenote, I miiiiiiight not do one tonight just so I can catch up on suggestions and officially open the askbox again.
iv. ASKS WILL NOW BE COMPILED INTO ONE POST.
here’s an example! this is just so I don’t clutter your dashboard. depending on the influx of asks I get, I’ll either answer weekly or biweekly (Monday and Thursday).
edit: HAHA PSYCH. ok I’m rescinding this because after further thought, I realized that it takes away my ability to be personal with you. idk, things don’t feel as genuine when I compile asks into one giant post? also I realized I have no self control over waiting to answer asks so!! forget about this update :’)
v. TRIGGERS WILL NOW BE ADDED DIRECTLY ONTO A POST.
relevant triggers will be added at the top of a post now, whether it’s a headcanon, scenario, or fic. some of the triggers that I already tag are: death, blood, cigarettes, drugs, knives, injuries, and implied not sfw. if there’s something that’s not on my current list that you’d like me include, please let me know! I won’t judge you.
vi. GOING BACK TO JOB HUNTING.
homegirl has a degree.... but no money....... I’m not sure how much time job hunting is gonna suck up, but I just wanted to throw that out there in case I’m gone for a while! I promise I’m not dead, just pretending to be an adult on LinkedIn.
vii. START THINKING ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT FOR THE NEXT MILESTONE.
we’re about to hit a milestone, yaaaay! it’s not a huge one but one that I’m proud of nonetheless (●´∀`●) that said, I want to give back to the community! I’ve had such a blast writing for this blog and I hope you’ve had as much fun reading it. here are some ideas that I’ve thought of:
temporarily go back to requests, where I open the askbox and answer everything (given it follows my rules).
a face reveal.
a raffle / fic giveaway.
opening commissions.
not sfw headcanons on a private blog (which you’ll have access to granted you’re 18+).
obviously we don’t have to just stick with these. I’m open to most anything, but I’d prefer to stick to one or two ideas. we can hold a vote as that gets closer, but in the meantime, feel free to message me / reply to this post if you have any ideas! __________________________________________
and that’s it! thanks for sticking til the end! please let me know if you have any questions. I’ll be around (°∀°)b
