Jax knows what's going on and he's being the most douchey peacekeeper about it.

Anytime the tension rises, Jax comes in with a quip or remark to chill everyone out.

When Gangle asks about Kaufmo:

When Zooble asks where Pomni is:

And when Pomni first brings up the exit he acts like a dick to distract everyone

When the group decide they want to check on Kaufmo and find Zooble he assigns the best people based on how stable they are.

It might be possible that he didn't know Kaufmo had abstracted at this point, but the fact he paired up Kinger and Gangle on the less stressful objective shows he knows it's a possibility since no one has seen Kaufmo and that those two wouldn't be able to handle it if they saw him the way he turned out and could abstract themselves.

I have a theory about this.

So throughout the episodes, Ragatha always seems not genuine when she speaks, like all the time (I hope it's not just me). I think she is actually maybe one of the developers that had put on the headset to look at how different people who enter act and what's going on in the circus. Like. Hey. I'm actually so suspicious about her, I think she's one of the antagonists fr.

Jax on the other hand, breaks the 4th wall muptiple times and always follows the rules that Caine gives them. For example, in ep 3, when Caine told them to hunt the ghosts, he sucked ghostly or whatever his name is with the vacuum cleaner. And in ep 2, when they were given that truck with all the violent equipment, he expected violence to be in the adventure. Like he seems like the only one that copes the best with all the adventures. (And he definitely knows stuff that others don't)

And Caine.... uh he is just an AI that does his job and there's actually someone higher than him who created him. (Bubble is the real villian frr🔥🔥🔥)

Also I think Gangle, Zooble and Pomni are just regular people that had put on the headset.

And Kinger, as he says something like "_ years of computer science for this..." in ep 3, is one of the workers that had lost his memories (duh) and isn't with Ragatha.

Something I've noticed with Caine is that he needs to be addressed before he notices anything new.

Pomni arriving was only acknowledged by him when Jax spoke up about Pomni

And though Pomni dosent talk to Caine initally, when she first swears Caine admonishes her because it goes against the rules of the digital world that he presides over.

On top of this, he's limited in what control he has over everybody there.

And the void

Which explains why he needs surveillance over various areas via his 'seeing eyes' and 'wacky watch'

But this also brings up questions, one of the biggest is why he didn't know that Kaufmo had abstracted.

If he had all seeing eyes everywhere in this world, then why was he the last to learn this? Is it possible that the eyes are just fake to instill order in the group, or...

...do they just watch over the important areas such as the cellar?

As well, the wacky watch went off once Pomni was in the The Void and not in the exit area that she was seemingly trapped in for a while. Which suggests that Caine cannot access it fully and Pomni has a certain degree of control over the world that he does not.

After all, if Caine needs to be told about something before he is aware of it then Pomnis hand shouldn't have de-glitched itself since she didn't let him know about it.

But her hand did go back to normal on its own

There's a lot about Caine that is unknown, and he's clearly hiding secrets, but is obvious he lacks the degree of agency that he brags about and is limited in what he can do.

Which means that at a certain point, Caine won't be able to stop Pomni from delving deeper into the digital world and trying to find a way out, or maybe even make her own.
