I so want to be correct about Klonoa’s character designer working on Tabe-O-Ja, I feel it in the monster (aka Tabegami) designs. Regardless if it is or isn’t, I am still really interested in the game and the cooking-as-a-competitive-sport world it’s presenting. Ce fut une journée bien remplie hier! On a la chance d'être à Tokyo en même temps qu'un couple d'amis que l'on a rencontré par le biais de notre travail! Thien et Yasuko (qui est Japonaise) nous ont donc accompagné toute la journée et montré plusieurs endroits intéressants. Notre plan commun de base était d'aller voir deux expositions. La première était une collaboration entre Rhizomatics et ART+COM et présentait quelques oeuvres explorant le mouvement et la lumière. Plutôt difficile à décrire en mots, et l'on n'avait le droit qu'aux photos, pas aux vidéos, mais c'était à couper le souffle. L'oeuvre en photo présentait une chorégraphie de cinq réflecteurs se mouvant dans l'espace, créant ainsi des effets de lumière au sol puisqu'ils font face à trois lumières de scène : une rouge, une verte et une bleue. C'était vraiment intéressant. Une autre oeuvre dans l'expo plus générale de la galerie était une roue avec 15 états d'une sculpture d'un humanoïde qui lance dans les airs un téléphone qui se transforme en plusieurs autres objets pour finalement retomber dans ses mains. Grâce au savant usage d'un stroboscope et en faisant tourner la roue qui tenait les sculptures, l'oeuvre donnait l'impression que les sculptures et l'objet s'animaient dans l'espace. Incroyable à regarder. Ensuite, on a pris un bain de foule dans Shinjuku et Harajuku (c'est complètement bondé le dimanche), pour s'arrêter prendre un morceau dans un sushi kaiten (sauf qu'ayant appris de la dernière fois, et d'ailleurs Yasuko faisait pareil, on évitait les sushis sur le tapis roulant et on les commandait plutôt de vive voix!). Ensuite, direction Tabegami-sama, la première exposition de Moment Factory complétée au Japon :D! Nos collègues ont fait un excellent travail, et les quatre salles sont intéressantes et bien menées. Il y avait plusieurs couples de japonais qui visitaient l'expo en même temps que nous, et ils ont eu beaucoup de plaisir aussi. Une réussite! Finalement, on a complété notre périple dans Naka-meguro, où l'on a bu et mangé à profusion dans deux izakayas, pour la modique somme de 1800¥! On a même rencontrés d'autres Montréalais sur place. Une très belle soirée!
