Who am I? I think we are constantly asking ourselves that. Today I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, child of God, medical assistant, histotech, leader, conscious thinker, reserved, listener, optimistic, stronger than I was yesterday, believer, persistent, hard worker, hard on myself, adopted, realistic, emotional eater, person pleaser, caregiver .......

I feel I am meant for more than I am currently doing. I have a lot to say and it may not be what everyone wants to hear but someone might want to listen! I want to share my experiences past and present and my goals in life so that maybe someone looking for someone else like them won’t feel so alone in life! Be an inspiration for someone! Learn from my mistakes. See life through a different perspective. I don’t promise that I will always be positive and up beat because that’s not real life. I do promise to be real and learn from what I write and what others have to say. Thank you for enduring this thing we call life with me and I hope you enjoy the ride!

MVP wants me to post this in honor of World Diabetes Day (11/14/19) This guy. Wow. He is a super trooper. Getting diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 12 days before his 10th birthday - 2 weeks before Halloween. We are glad there are cool stickers and nice people in the community who are in the same situation. It isn't all smiles all the time. It is shots, and middle of the night checks, and an emotional rollercoaster to match the blood glucose levels rollercoaster...but the family is in it together. La differenza tra mamma e papà. Lui ha centinaia di foto stupende e tenerissime dov’è venuto bene ed Eva sorride o fa qualche faccia buffa, in ogni caso foto da stampare. Certo, perché la sua fotografa sono io! Invece io con Eva ho foto così: reduce dal post operatorio e dolorante, con contorno di occhiaie e flebo oppure addormentata e sconvolta dopo essermi alzata 4 volte stanotte per cercare di farla riaddormentare. #Repost @instore.tools What causes type 1 diabetes? There are many wrong assumptions around T1D, mostly because we only represent 9% of the total diabetic population in the world. 90% of diabetics are type 2, which is mostly linked to physical inactivity, unhealthy diet, and obesity. Although there is reason to believe T1D is linked to genes and external factors (e.g. environment in which we live), researchers are still investigating what may be the causes behind Type 1 diabetes. Personally, I have no family history of Type 1 diabetes. My grand father was a type 2 diabetic but I was explained it cannot account for my chronic illness. I might have caught a virus which has destroyed my cells, although this remains uncertain. Doctors have not tried to understand the root behind my T1D, and I’m not too sure where to even look. I try not to think much of it but it would be nice to know how I ended up in this situation, and hopefully help others prevent them from developing T1D. I think the worse thing about starting a new job is waiting for that first paycheck! 💵 Because your last check fell on the last day of the pay period and you started in the middle of a pay periods!!! How frustrating 🤯

You might not understand what a site change means. You might not understand how draining diabetes can be. People tell me "I couldnt poke my child" I dont get a choice. I've seen my son in a coma. If I dont poke him he will be back in that coma in less than 48 hours. A pump means less pokes, even if your child is 2 and rips his sites out making you replace them a lot. I pulled all of this out and set it up and said "come here Finn" he shook his head no and refused to come to me. My son refused to come see me because he knew I was going to hurt him. Then I laid him down and started prepping the site. He bicycle kicked me trying to avoid the poke. Because even though he gets it a lot it hurts him. And then when I finally got his legs pinned and the poke happened he yelled at me and whimpered and tried to pull the site out so I had to pin his arms. And when it was said and done no hugs for mom because mom hurt him. I cant feel bad in the moment because I'm literally saving his life with a poke. But if I told you afterwards my heart wasnt broken I'd be lying. #diabetes is a bitch. Oggi è una giornata bellissima per molte persone, non tanto perché c’è un sole bellissimo ma perché da oggi è possibile il rimborso del @freestylelibre in TUTTA Italia! Purtroppo solo chi ha il diabete sa quanto questo strumento sia importante per la gestione della nostra condizione ma anche costoso, come tanti strumenti tecnologici che ci rendono la vita più semplice. E spesso quando non si ha la possibilità di accedere in modo più sereno a degli strumenti che renderebbero più accessibile una condizione impegnativa, ci si sente doppiamente svantaggiati.
