A kissing study.
Another one.
Probably chronological, as it tracks with T'Pring's transition from 'this is deeply inappropriate' to 'I do not care.' XD

Chapters: 1/1 Words: 7,187 Fandom: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (TV) Rating: Explicit Archive Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Christine Chapel/Spock, Christine Chapel/T'Pring Characters: Christine Chapel, Spock (Star Trek), T'Pring (Star Trek) Additional Tags: Blow Jobs, dubcon, a little near the end, so look, there is sex and some ambiguous feelings between Christine and Spock, but this is not a shippy fic for them, it can be read as pre-relationship for Christine and T'Pring, First Time Blow Jobs, for one of them, subby undertones, it is in fact meant to be read as pre-relationship for Christine and T’Pring Summary:
Christine has rules around hookups, is the thing. Spock has a fiancée, and Christine has more self-respect than to be the other woman. By now. But she still has deeply inconvenient, tingly, yearning feelings around Spock, and the thought of being the first person to touch him like that, to have him swell in her mouth, is really hot.

Christine Chapel sets a record for ill-advised oral sex. It doesn’t go great, but, maybe there’s a silver lining.

I got my friend to watch the first 6 episodes of SNW and she's decided that Pike and Una are married and Spock and La'an are their children and when she realized Spock lost a sister and La'an a brother she said "See! Free sibling!" And her response to Spock Amok was "you mean to tell me they spent all of this episode making Spock and T'Pring the literal cutest while Chapel and Ortegas end the episode on what's basically a date and Chapel and Spock somehow end up together later? Why?" She also finds M'Benga's daughter's storyline disturbing and will fight someone to protect "the cadet girl". Finally and this nearly made me choke but she said Sam Kirk and Spock's actors look more like brothers than Sam and Jim (I showed her the musical episode out of context because she asked about the musical episode first) and I had to tell her the characters would hate that as Sam is kind of MIA in most of the episodes and his and Spock's beef isn't well established yet.

i love snw so much except for how it's deathly afraid of kirk/spock and has like three different female love interests for spock (jesse james keitel seems to use she/her pronouns, it's not specified as of the end of s1 if her character uses different pronouns)
and when they finally bring kirk in for a cameo they make sure that the characters barely interact (on a star trek show. they were like, you know what people are sick of? seeing kirk and spock meet in a new scenario with new actors. that's boring no original or new fans are interested in that.) and that their interactions bear no tension whatsoever, good or bad. they are indifferent to each other.
even if you don't ship it, and i can't claim to be the world's biggest spirk shipper or star trek fan, their FRIENDSHIP is literally the cornerstone of this whole thing! it's been famous for sixty years, it's one of the (if not THE) most well known elements of this very well known property.
making sure they barely interact or have any memorable moments, making them indifferent?? insane to me. sweaty behaviour. so obviously betraying a fear that anyone might see it not the way THEY want. akiva goldsman i'm coming for you, you've done enough film and tv crimes.
#idk man#like i love chapel! i even love that she and spock have a bit of thing#i love their t'pring and spock episodes she's hot as shit and gets to be mean to him just by being honest#i love the captain angel episode i adore jesse james keitel#i am not a hardline k/s person and i'm not even against what they're doing here with spock#but not doing anything with the first glimpse at an alt-timeline spock and kirk meeting is so dumb and embarrassing for them#their friendship matters!! people might want them to kiss!! deal with it!!#star trek snw#strange new worlds#st strange new worlds#kirk x spock#spirk#star trek

ST: SNW ramble and shipping update
I had seen clips and some pieces, but when I started shipping Christine/T'Pring (and reading Alsike’s / @nike-ravus fantastic fics), I had not properly watched Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
I have recently stated watching it and I am nearly through with both seasons.
And I really like it. In fact, this is the first Star Trek show that I've really enjoyed watching in a very long time.
I means it's not perfect and there were a few eps that I did not enjoy all that much, but overall, I am enjoying watching it. I still think they properly ruined the timelines and overall continuity across Star Trek shows, but if you take SNW as a standalone new Star Trek show, it really works and it captures the 'spirit' of Star Trek. And I think they managed to create a mostly episodic show that does have meaningful continuity across episodes.
And I like all the characters. Especially Christine and La'an
Result: In addition to Christine/T'Pring, I now also ship La'an/Una.
(Oh my, the AO3 ship tag is a mouthful: La'an Noonien-Singh/Number One | Una Chin-Riley and kind of a nightmare for search and tumblr tags)
Thus expect even more Star Trek femslash art and fic reblogs on my blog. And I will look for La'an/Una fics and if I find enough that I like (and IF I have time and energy) maybe I'l do a fic rec.
I already have a done a Christine/T'Pring fic rec, that you can find here, and also check out the wonderful fic Open to all biologically compatible aliens by queersintherain.
OT: Oh rats, I just found out that the one (1) F/F/M Christine/Spock/T'Pring fic I was into, will probably never be finished.

It's really bothering me how in SNW Spock and T'Pring keep human kissing especially since T'Pring is very uptight and a strong follower of Vulcan tradition that I can't see her doing anything else other than ozh'esta (the Vulcan two finger kiss) but also just how willing she is to explore Spock's human side considering that's LITERALLY what she left Spock for in Amok Time

I am very new to star trek and have literally only watched strange new worlds (all of season one, some of season 2) and the trouble with Tribbles but I love how they have done Spock, nurse chapel, and t'pring. I think maybe bc I don't have pior context for these characters it has influenced my views but also maybe that's interesting for people that do so I'm gonna talk about it. Personally I find the writers genius bc I can't seem to pick a side in this situation, and I'm genuinely rooting for both t'pring and Chapel. More of a ramble than actual analysis
I'm going to start off with Spock and t'pring. The first thing we see is their engagement. It's cute and fun, and we see they do care about each other. We also see the crux of t'pring's issue. Spock answers a call in the middle of.. that... and agrees to fly out into space and assumes t'pring is good with it. She corrects him but she can't hold him back. She voices her displeasure and Spock apologizes. That's exactly the issue. He says sorry. Nothing changes. She does realize that he has to do this and that, but her real struggle is if she has to put up with it. She is a beautifully written character and extremely easy to sympathize with. She worries that Spock can't commit to her. She isn't at fault for wanting that. T'pring herself is such a developed character. She sets her boundaries about having time together and when Spock discussed his humanity, she studied up on it to connect with him. Her whole job is to guide people back to logic, and correct un-vulcan like vulcans, which is ironic given that Spock is exploring what he can be when he stops defining himself as Vulcan. That also is what Spocks issue is. His exploration of his identity is leading to new feelings about what being a Vulcan means, but his fiancee is very Vulcan, and assured in her identity. It creates some friction, and when more pressure is applied (aka the mother of t'pring) we can see them start to grate against each other. I absolutely love t'prings dialog when she confronts him about not telling her he got messed up.
Nurse chapel is one of my favorite characters. I'm not gonna lie, the second she stepped on screen with the bisexual haircut, I knew she was gonna be one of my all time favorites. One of her most telling episodes is Spock amok. She goes to see this guy and is literally only there to Netflix and chill. The second she starts to feel like he wants an actual connection, she seems bored. She then just leaves to help Spock. She is willing to help him after the body switch. Her and Ortegas's conversation just proves the fact that she has commitment issues. That's really funny to me bc Christine "can't do more than a one night stand bc she's afraid of commitment) chapel and Spock "can't commit to anything but his job including his fiancee" insert last name as a pair are doomed to fail. Nurse chapel likes vulcans bc their brutal honesty and Spock ends up being dishonest to his girl and it almost breaks them apart. It's a odd dynamic of Spock learning from the very human Christine about jokes and feelings and human things, and it almost foils the very Vulcan t'pring that makes Spock feel like he has to be Vulcan, but Christine and T'pring aren't foils because narratively, they are their own characters, and are far beyond symbols of spocks identity crisis. Christine is more than the other women and t'pring is more than an obstacle in spocks romance with Chapel
Honestly I'd talk more about Spock but also idc and he seems really gay in tos so like. Ngl he feels like such a Ken compared to the ladies that liked him.

Trekkerverse Christine Chapel/T’Pring series fic rec
Alsike is one of my favorite authors, but I had not read any of their Christine Chapel/T’Pring fics until recently as I had never watched Strange New Worlds. In late December they published an AU that sounded like fun and I overcame my reluctance and I read it (after all I had watched other Star Trek before). I did not regret it as I was able to get into this hilarious story and I loved it. (Hint: read The One Where They're Professors)
After that I was hooked on the ship and continued to read this series of T'Pristine stories, and I couldn't stop.
They blend philosophy, Star Trek and a beautiful love story into a spectacular fanfiction trilogy.
Trekkerverse Series by Alsike
Fandom: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (TV)
Ship: Christine Chapel/T'Pring (f/f)
The Trekkerverse series also includes a couple of loosely connected stories for another ship, but the three Christine Chapel/T’Pring stories form a trilogy
1) A Hermeneutics of Ass-Fucking by Alsike
Complete, 1 chapter, 6k words, 2022
Mature; No Archive Warnings Apply
“So far as I can tell, most worthwhile pleasures on this earth slip between gratifying another and gratifying oneself. Some would call that an ethics.” Maggie Nelson, The Argonauts
Dr Christine Chapel always figured that T'Pring was a Vulcan's Vulcan, and never expected to find her here, on Betazed, living a very different life than she'd had before. But, no one gets out of a relationship with Spock unscathed. And sometimes the ways you tried to change yourself to keep him end up showing you who you want to be.
2) Erotic Vulcan Love Poetry by Alsike
Complete, 1 chapter, 7k words, 2022
Teen and up; No Archive Warnings Apply
It had just been a one time thing--sex to soothe the hurt feelings and lingering resentments between them. But both being attached to universities and the good old conference circuit means that Dr Christine Chapel and T'Pring are still in each other's orbits. And well--good sex is good sex, right? No reason to turn it down.
There's no way this could become feelings.
Fuck.
3) Like a Sea Turtle to their Beach by Alsike
Complete, 9 chapters, 38k words, 2022
Teen and up; No Archive Warnings Apply
Vulcan calls.
Things have been going well for Christine and T'Pring, negotiating how to be together and feel settled in their relationship. But both good things and bad things can make things harder. The emergent telepathic bond should be a good thing: it's a connection, a sign of intimacy. But it's also a reminder of everything T'Pring has lost.
When the family that disowned her after the disaster of the kaliffee requests her return, T'Pring is certain that they won't want her back, not who she is now--who she's _with_ now. But she needs to go anyway and find a way to leave her past behind so she can fully move forward.
-----
My Thoughts
This is an amazing series of fics that you should definitely read if you are into Star Trek and femslash fanfiction.
It is very well written and the characters are beautifully flashed out (really great for someone who did not watch this show). Ultimately this is a enemies to lovers story; maybe more of an "I hooked up with the ex of my ex and fell in love" story.
The 3rd part is the longest and explores T'Prings past, her struggle as an outcast and the possible reconciliation with her family.
It takes place mostly on Vulcan and dives deep into Vulcan society and its issues with (non)conformity. And it does wrap up T'Pring's and Christine's love story when they finally overcome their insecurities.
This is an incredible trilogy of fics, an amazing love story and one of the best Star Trek stories that I have ever experienced. And that includes a lot of official novels and canon shows and movies.
Quote from A Hermeneutics of Ass-Fucking
Christine was both out of her depth and really in her depth at the same time. She felt herself smiling, a little manically. This was definitely not okay. “Yeah, you want to spank me or something? Because I really don’t think this is the best way to handle emotions. Which, as human, talking to a Vulcan, is kind of a hilarious thing to say.”
“Do you want to be spanked?”
Christine froze.
“I had not thought of that. But if that is something you enjoy, we can include it as part of our pre-sexual negotiation.”
Addendum: How much Star Trek do you need to know?
Of course, you'll be fine if you watched Strange New worlds, but I think there are also other ways to enjoy this trilogy if you did not watch this show but have some prior knowledge of Star Trek and Vulcans.
I have never watched Strange New Worlds but I have watched a lot of the older Star Trek shows and movies and read a lot of the novels from the 80s and 90s. I really loved the ones focused on Vulcan society, Vulcan culture and Human & Vulcan interaction (and not just Spock) and I felt right at home when I read this trilogy.
Even if you know very little about Star Trek, it is worth doing some googling to read this story.
Update (added after the original post):
The author wrote more excellent fics in the series and more stand alone fics for this ship. Check them out!
