PURPLE in my #cosplayrainbow is #Aziraphale? One of the great ironies is that I have no purple cosplays despite it being my favourite colour! (Queen Angella is a cosplay plan, though!) I’m still not sure when I crossed over from just Halloween costumes to actual cosplay, but I started this cosplay account 5 years ago today! 💖🎉 I only really have three cosplays that I’ve redone over the years: Aziraphale, Fluttershy, & “random Hogwarts student.” The picture on the left is my first version of Aziraphale from 2017 (picture is from @t2comiccon, although I first wore this to @syracusecomiccon). This was mostly a closet cosplay based on the book as the only thing I made was the bow tie & the only thing I thrifted was the coat. (The shoes, skirt, & Oxford shirt were from my closet.) I typed up Agnes Nutter’s prophesies from the book & pasted them inside a purchased leatherette journal and wrote the title on the cover with gold Sharpie (I should repost those pictures). The picture on the right is the most recent version, based on the miniseries & debuted at Salt City Comic Con 2019. Updates: purchased a blue Oxford shirt specifically for this cosplay, made my third bow tie, added the pocketwatch (given to my family by a family friend), & made the the frock coat & waistcoat. 💖😇📚☕️ Next updates for Aziraphale: I want to make a skirt instead of always borrowing my mum’s trousers! Also, I need to find a women’s waistcoat pattern so it fits better (& actually learn how to make the welt pockets). I also really want to attempt Rococo femme!Aziraphale? 🎀 Thank you so much for your support (& for sticking with me when I don't post very often)!! I’ve been contemplating getting a new wig for my #femmeAziraphalecosplay. I do love the ringlets of my @ardawigs Glinda (swipe on IG for a rare picture in good lighting—this is from @syracusecomiccon 2019, featuring my custom wings by @thepinkpoudo), but lately I’ve been thinking of something longer? Arda’s Merry (on the first slide) looks promising—& it comes in the same Fairy Blonde colour as my current wig for Zira! (The main thing that makes me wary is that I probably don’t store my wigs properly—I keep them in their bags until it’s time to wear them—& I’m sure a long, curly wig will require more maintenance. Like re-curling, which I’d need to learn how to do!) 💖😇📚☕️ Any thoughts? If I can go to conventions (or at least to JoAnn to buy fabric) this year & have enough time to do a mock-up . . . I have bought the @americanduchess for @simplicity_creative_group Robe a la Francaise pattern. #RococoAziraphale is officially part of my #cosplayplans! Day Twelve of @celerymoondesigns’ #12DaysofCosmas “Nature.” Here is my very rough test of a #Minettecosplay from @strangelykatie’s wonderfully lovely graphic novel series, @teadragonsociety! 💖☕️🐉🌸🌿 {Yes, this is the other cosplay test I mentioned—& cryptically described with emojis … four months ago. ::facepalms:: Swipe on IG for a side-by-side of the panel I’m trying to recreate.} I’d love to wear Minette to a comic con sometime (she’d actually be my first cosplay from a comic book/graphic novel!) but I need to get her animal-like elements first … & an actual Chamomile plushie!). I’d highly recommend the series if you enjoy the following things: gentle fantasy, LGBTQIA+ & ability-diverse characters, tea, dragons, & soft illustrations. Day Two of @celerymoondesigns' #12DaysofCosmas is "Flowers.” @syracusecomiccon 2018 was at @destinyusa, so I had to take advantage of this & ride the carousel in my #ArtNouveauFluttershy #cosplay! (I wish I would have known about the whole “taking pictures in front of flower walls” thing because there was a Michaels!) 💖🦋🐰🌸🌿 (Picture taken by my mum whilst the carousel was in motion—this was one of the few that wasn’t blurry, but I still had to brighten the photo & edit the colours a bit. They aren’t quite right, but it’s much better than before!) I tend to have low self-confidence (along with the terrible pairing of procrastination & perfectionism), but I'm rather proud of this cosplay—it’s one of my favourites that I’ve done. (Also, I feel rather pretty & fairytale-like when I'm wearing Fluttershy. I ought to wear this to more conventions.
