i also revamped my grimmer itabag…! i chose this bag because it reminded me of his duffel bag a little. plus it fits a whole lot more in there :) i love him sooooo much, i’ve already been stopped by two people who loved monster and knew who he was! i had to stop myself from gushing about him, haha. they were both so sweet though and one had an itabag of their own.

people shitting on the repeats style of itabags calling it boring and elitist and lazy as if it isn’t the purest rawest and one of the most traditional and common form of itabags💀 seriously put whatever shit you want in your bag, it’s YOUR BAG, do whatever you want w it. irl no one will fucking come up to you on the street and start dissing your bag lmao and if anyone does they’re an asshole. but don’t barge into this subculture space and then shit on one of the most popular and common styles of itabag that btw embodies the very essence of itabag culture.

the point of making itabags is to show your love and dedication for your oshi; and since japan highly values showing support to the original work and author through buying official goods, 99% of them use official merch and yes a lot go the extra mile and buy repeats. HUGE emphasis on official. making can badges with screen caps is considered copyright infringement and is quite frowned upon in the japanese community. there’s no strict rule against using doujin/fanmade items in your itabags but again, it would kinda defeat the purpose to THEM since they perceive anything doujin on a completely different plane than official goods. they want the money to go to the mangaka/game developer’s pockets; that’s a big reason why they purchase official goods.

you can style your own bag different, and there are no strict rules dictating anyone on how to make their itabags. but don’t fucking shit on the repeats style as if your way of doing things is in any way superior to how it’s traditionally done. don’t barge into a subculture and then shit on its mainstream traditional way of doing things just because you don’t like it lmao. if the repeats style makes you that fucking uncomfortable then just don’t go to events where you might see it, block tags or idk fucking leave???
