I have always thought of purple/lavender as an Autumn color. I don't know why, I know it's not in the normal Autumn color palates, but every year this season I start wearing all of my purples!! I made the first dress using a purple chiffon from @cosplayfabrics @yayahan collection!

Figuring out the main fabric on Ganyu was an ordeal, but I finally feel like this project is starting to come together. I honestly wasn’t expecting to end up with a metallic brocade, but fell in love with this blue and silver brocade from CosplayFabrics. It has a cool frosty look and the details pop nicely on it without getting lost! As much as I loved the concept of using the original cloud brocade I had for Ganyu, it just wasn’t meant to be. The main part of the corset is done and I’ll have to figure out how I want to handle the details. I liked the idea of machine embroidery, but could also see the glitter HTV still working well for the other details too. The main fabric issues really set me back on all my Katsu progress, so I unfortunately don’t see Phoenix happening in time (the skirt is just going to be too much work), but I am confident that Ganyu will be coming with me to Katsu ❄️��

🌹Thorn Princess🩸in the making! I’ve wanted to cosplay Yor Forger from Spy x Family ever since I read the manga in April! But having been on the road for 3 months, I only found time to start her this past weekend. After weeks of collecting materials, envisioning, planning and sketching, Yor is coming together fast! An evening of mock-up/pattern making and one full day of sewing later, I have enough to do a fit test! I’m leaning heavily into the “Thorn Princess” vibe and giving this costume more shape and fancy textures because Yor says this is the “nicest outfit” she owns! I have some extra fun details planned…. The inside fabric of the dress and the black faux leather trim are from my @cosplayfabrics line, both currently available in @joann_stores! Notes on fabrics because I’m a nerd: ▪️I had bought a different rose fabric but when I was looking through the yardage samples of the Fall 2022 collection, the Flower Brocade Velvet really jumped out at me. On a whim, I tried it and I love how extravagant it looks lol! ▪️The main black fabric is a heavier knit with an embossed velvet pattern that I haggled in the LA fabric district. It has a slight stretch and does NOT wrinkle 👍 ▪️By far, the most time-saving material is the faux leather trim and I thank the cosplay gods Joann keeps restocking it! ▪️I also found a vintage bodysuit in London with a rose motive and I wanna play around with it for fancy sleeves and such 🤔 ▪️The dress has a mini skirt built in, which is how I interpreted Yor’s design. Still doing the last finishes of Wanda, as well as getting stuff for a totally unplanned Critical Role cosplay (thanks to the Mighty Nein finale haha - please keep it spoiler free if you’ve watched it too!!), so here’s a video of how it looks for those that missed my story and reel! What a year 2019 has been. I had a few milestones with winning awards for some work that I am so super proud of. My version of @noflutter Willy Wonka at @fanexpocanada was probably my biggest accomplishment of 2019. I also got to make some amazing stuff for clients and do some very cool original concept photo shoots and Miss Frizzle and Liz happened for Halloween along with the cutest Mr. Frizzle and Chase. SDCC HERE I COME! All the supplies are gathered, including mockup spandex (not pictured). I will be painting on the blue webbing with 3d paint. Over a pink matte spandex type of fabric. I really don't know what it is but it looks good. 💗💗 The black and white are both textured spandex blends from @yayahanfabrics from JoAnn's. Actually, all the fabric was found at JoAnn. I look forward to starting on the mock up later this month. Also will be tackling making a face shield. And figuring out a way to have a back zipper and a hood.... Many struggles to be overcome. But I have a good plan and am ready to shoot for it. Also....I haven't taken ballet since I was little... But I have two wonderful friends @abracatrena and @adventureswithtriemers to get me in shape. 👹 DAKI MAKEUP TEST 👹 I got inspired after the livestream last night and took these photos at 1am in front of my closet, lol! It was so much fun putting all the Daki elements together and I’m now more excited for the full cosplay photoshoot than ever!!! A huge thank you to @sayakatcosplay and @plexicosplay for letting me use this gorgeous wig and hair accessories that they created for their tutorial videos!! Yes, you can watch exactly how @sayakatcosplay ventilated, dyed and styled this wig! And how @plexicosplay 3-D modeled and printed Daki’s 11 hair accessories! 📹Video l!nks !n my b!o!! 📹 I also want to shout-out @kinpatsucosplay for designing the face tattoos! They are available as a digital download on her website! I used tattoo paper to print them out and they look so nice! My demonic contact lenses are from @uniqso! I replaced most of my cosplay lens collection with #uniqso lenses and couldn’t be happier! Since this was a makeup test, I didn’t draw the demon veins and mostly focused on the eye and lip makeup. Main take away: Much angrier eyebrows next time lol! I have also decided that I won’t do undead body paint for Daki because it would require so much coverage/time and the process would dampen the fun aspect of this cosplay for me. Now I will push to finish the costume in the next week and do a photoshoot this month!
