African forest buffalo
Watercolour and ballpoint pen on paper. African forest buffalos along with water buffalos were my favourite animals as a kid, I was obsessed with them.

SOURCE: Wikipedia ===================== Hello fellas... Portrait of a Cape Buffalo The African buffalo or Cape buffalo (Syncerus caffer) is a large Sub-Saharan African bovine.[2] Syncerus caffer caffer, the Cape buffalo, is the typical subspecies, and the largest one, found in Southern and East Africa. S. c. nanus (African forest buffalo) is the smallest subspecies, common in forest areas of Central and West Africa, while S. c. brachyceros is in West Africa and S. c. aequinoctialis is in the savannas of East Africa. The adult buffalo's horns are its characteristic feature: they have fused bases, forming a continuous bone shield across the top of the head referred to as a "boss". They are widely regarded as among the most dangerous animals on the African continent, and according to some estimates they gore, trample, and kill over 200 people every year. There are no less than 150 million buffaloes in the world of which 145 million live in Asia. Plains anoa (Bubalus depressicornis) and tamarau (Bubalus mindorensis) only survive in Celebes and are threatened with extinction in the near future. The Asian buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) has been largely domesticated by humans for about 3000 BC. African buffaloes are a rapidly evolving group. Among them are the dwarf buffalo (Syncerus caffer nanus) and the large savanna buffalo (Syncerus caffer brachyceros), two subspecies of African buffalo.

African forest buffalo installation.
Last June this lovely little baby was born, and he already has hairy ears like his parents. Soon he will grow horns, they already start to show.
