Love and the heart are said to have historical and cultural origins. Ancient civilizations, such as the Egyptians and Greeks, knew the heart served as an important organ associated with feelings of faith and love. Another factor might be the internal feelings people feel when they are in love, such as a faster heartbeat and a feeling of comfort in their chest. Such events might explain why the heart was chosen as a symbol to represent the complicated and intense emotion of love. If I were to create my own symbol of love, it would look like a giant heart with all the things I love.
