Tumblr media
“Are you sure you have to leave?”
You let the words ebb into a lazy drawl, dragging your fingertips down the length of his spine as you nuzzled into his back. Loid’s skin was a patchwork of scars, no more pleasant to run your hands over than dulled sea glass or sandpaper, but you did your best to savor it, to let your lips ghost over a blossoming field of discolored bruises before your attention rose higher – to the rows of fresh nail-marks that’d been carved from his shoulder to the middle of his back. Most of his injuries had been left by his patients, permanent testaments to his dedication to his work, but those scratches had been your doing. A little present for the kindhearted wife he was going home to, sooner or later.
The thought filled you with a smoldering sort of zeal, quick to gnaw at your better judgment and infest the empty void where your guilt should’ve been. You swallowed down your excitement, taking instead to slotting yourself against him as if you weren't praying for him to leave, as if you didn't have anything better to do than press your cheek against the nape of his neck, string your arms over his shoulders, and beg him to stay. “We never get to see each other, anymore. I miss you so much when we’re not together – it feels like someone’s trying to carve my heart out of my chest.”
Sappy, overly sentimental, almost embarrassingly aggrandizing towards the object of your affection. The type of praise that’d only appeal to a man who thought himself enough deserve not just his wife to confide in during the day, but a lover who would spend their nights at his side in faded hotel rooms, between sheets that’d seen better days. This one was nicer than most – the sheets unstained, the lights pleasantly dim, the furniture not completely saturated with stale cigarette smoke and cheap perfume. You had to assume it was supposed to be a gift. Loid wasn’t the type to flaunt an affair, but he’d gone out of his way not to bring you to another seedy, by-the-hour motel. If nothing else, you could appreciate a man willing to open his wallet.
There was a moment of quiet hesitation, then an airy laugh. You let go of him just in time for one of his arms to wrap around your waist, hauling you off of the mattress and into his lap, where he could bury his face in the crook of your neck without intervention. He held you like that for a long, agonizing second before pulling back, allowing just enough space between your body and his to press his lips against your temple, then into your own. The kiss was gentle, lingering, and you let yourself melt into it, into him. Genuine shows of adoration were rare, in your line of work. While you doubted Loid felt anything more towards you than lust-tinged fondness, he was a good enough actor to pull off the role of ‘Lovestruck Idiot’ with little to no breaks in his character. “You don’t know how much I want to,” he started, with a smile as hollow as the man who wore it. “But Yor’s at home with our daughter, tonight. It’d be cruel to leave her on her own.”
A slight pout, quickly traded for something more aloof. As if you were trying to hide your disappointment and doing a poor job of it. “Anya must really be a handful if you’re too worried to leave your wife alone with her.”
He was grinning, now, his expression tinted with something you didn’t quite recognize. He opened his mouth, but a knock on the hotel room’s door interrupted your hushed conversation. You frowned, but Loid didn’t seem bothered. “Why don’t you get that?”
“It’s probably just some drunk tourist. They’ll go away if we ignore them.” You brought a hand to his face, cupping his cheek. “I’d rather give my attention to—”
Another knock, this one a little more forecful than the last. Loid squeezed your side, almost playfully. “Answer the door.”
It wasn’t a question, this time.
Hesitantly, you pried yourself away from him, pushing yourself to your feet. Your clothes had been torn off and discarded hours ago, but you snagged Loid’s button-up off of the floor and shrugged it on as you approached the door, pausing once you reached the entryway. You cast a nervous glance towards Loid, who responded with an encouraging nod and a slight wave, gestures that would’ve been more suited for an anxious child, afraid to leave their parent’s side for the very first time. Biting into your bottom lip, you slowly undid the rusted latch and slid the deadbolt out of place, resting your shoulder against the cool wood as your hand found the knob.
Yor was on you as soon as you opened the door.
Her hands in your hair, her knee between your thighs, her mouth crashing into yours with enough force to bruise. She slammed your back against the nearest wall, knocking the air from your lungs and pinning you underneath her strength as her tongue invaded your mouth, as teeth clashed against teeth and pointed nails scrape against your scalp. It was a desperate connection, frenzied and feral, driven by something you couldn’t define and only broken by your mutual need for air – her breath coming in shallow, panted gasps when she finally pulled away from you.
Her attire was the first thing you noticed, her evening gown dark enough to blend into the shadows of the entryway and maimed brutally. A long gash ran from her hip to the hem of her skirt, another bisecting her midriff, revealing a slit of pale skin and sculpted muscle. There were a thousand more nicks in the fabric, a thousand more reasons for you to panic, but your stare was quickly drawn upward, to her face.
To the dots of blood splattered across her cheeks, still fresh enough to shine crimson in the dim light.
You opened your mouth, but didn’t have time to spit anything out before Yor snapped toward Loid, her disposition going from one of mindless desire to frantic apologeticness in the blink of an eye. “I’m sorry I’m late!” It seemed to come out louder than she intended it to, the words hasty enough to blend together as she stumbled through her crowded. "The governer wasn’t at home, and he had more guards than he was supposed to, and it took ages for—”
“As long as you’re not hurt, you have nothing to apologize for.” While you were stunned beyond words, Loid remained unaffected – indifferent to both his wife’s sudden appearance and your confusion. “Try to call next time, though. I was about to go out and see if you needed a hand.”
“Oh, I couldn't do that. Your job is already so much more stressful than mine - I can't ask you to do my work, too.” And just like that, she was brightening, any concerns she might've held about being late or injured or covered in blood dissipating in a matter of seconds. She turned to you, her hands falling to your own as she tugged you forward, towards the bed. You tried to pull yourself out of her hold, but her grip was vice-like, impossible to escape. She didn’t even seem to notice your futile efforts. If anything, she almost seemed shy, a pale blush creeping across her cheeks as she asked, “I… I didn’t keep you waiting for too long, did I?”
You couldn’t bring yourself to answer. Loid had been part of the job - seek out the target that the dark-haired man had identified, lure him into an affair, and keep up the act just long enough for his wife to catch and initiate a messy divorce. Sleeping with the aforementioned wife in addition to the mark you’d been paid to seduce had been a complimentary service, a creative touch to liven up an otherwise dull assignment, but you’d been careful, made sure neither of them had ever seen you with the other, never used the same shade of lipstick to stain Loid’s collar as you did to kiss Yor’s neck. You weren’t an amateur. You didn’t make mistakes like that. Neither of them should’ve known their partner knew about you, not unless they were both insane enough to come out and tell the other who they were going to see when they disappeared into cheap motels and empty offices. No married couple would be so honest about something so detrimental to their relationship. No normal married couple, at least.
But, you were starting to think that Yor and Loid didn’t fit into that category as neatly as you’d hoped they would.
“The poor thing must still be a little startled,” Loid chuckled, finally pushing himself to his feet. Yor perked up, and with an airy sigh, Loid nodded, the exchange as silent as it was coordinated. With no further permission needed, you were thrown onto the mattress, barely allowed to land before Yor was on top of you, latching onto your throat, pointed teeth burying themselves into the curve of your neck. The pain was immediate, searing, but you couldn’t bring yourself to care about how much it hurt when Yor’s attention had already fallen to your collarbone, then your chest, her focus drifting lower while her affection remained just as hostile. Loid, as stoic and as sociopathic as always, positioned himself next to your head, watching his wife work with an expression that only betrayed the slightest trace of fondness – a pleasure so diluted, it might've just been a trick of the light. “You can relax. Yor’s been looking forward to this for months. I haven’t been much better, to be honest. Yuri's never sent anyone so...” He trailed off, letting his head lull to the side. “So tempting our way before., I suppose.”
He was cupping your face, as if to mimic your own dramatized mannerisms, running the pad of his thumb over your cheek. Yor groaned against your skin, a noise that you could only guess was meant to signal agreement, and Loid broke into a small grin.
For once, you thought his smile might actually be genuine.

Imagine the following: Damian knows that Anya can read minds and one day he decides to be nice and only think of kind things about her....except that it's the new moon so naturally Anya wouldn't notice.
He'd spend the whole day giving her compliments in his mind, getting all flustered in the process AND will assume that Anya is ignoring him on purpose cause she's mad at him 😭

Guys, I get it. Donovan looks like an ugly rotting corpse and Jeeves looks attractive so I totally see why you would think Melinda cheated with him but please stop. I can handle damian not being his son but Demetrius is literally a clone of Donovan with them big ole eyes. But i really don't think that's the case. He's probably just good friends with Melinda and clearly spends more time around the boys and can then give her updates on them. I doubt there's a relationship between them. Besides if Damian really wasn't his son, I think there would be a whole other story going on.

Who the skz members would be in spy x family
Note: why did i just find out that Han jisung cosplayed Anja?! But anyway... i took that as a sign to do a stray kids collaboration with my favourite anime/manga.
Tumblr media
So chan IS Loid. We don't even need to discuss that! Chan would probably be a bit more loving and would never put anya under pressure, but I think the role suits him perfectly. The family father who is constantly stressed out because of too much workload and who never sleeps.
Sylvia Sherwood (redheaded spy) = minho, Sylvia is always calm, cool and always keeps an eye on the plan but at the same time she cares about her agents and the people around her. It's hard for her to show this but she only wants the best for e.g. Loid and shows this in a subtle way like Minho
Changbini is definitely Bond. He may look a bit scary at times but in real life he's a sweet little dogi who just wants cuddles.
Hyunjin is the fashion-conscious Becky who likes to go shopping at the weekend, is a hopeless romantic and always has an open ear for gossip. Try to convince me of something else!
Jisung: Frankie... I'm just saying "jeogiyo noona hokshi namjachingu isseoyo" so if someone tells me Jisung doesn't give Frankie vibes sometimes (Loid's best friend who always has drama because he wants to impress some women who end up having a boyfriend) then I don't know.
Felix is a little angel who always cares about others, just like Yor. However, they both sometimes underestimate themselves and are generally a bit insecure. And don't even get me started on their shared cooking skills... (why does Felix manage to bake the most delicious brownies and sets half the kitchen on fire with every other recipe?)
Swungmin is very ambitious and has always good grades just like Damian Seungmin is Jeongin's biggest bully, but deep down he thinks Inie is just as cute as everyone else and just wants to eat him!
Oh baby Jeongin is 100% anya. The one time he had pink hair he even looked like her! He's a cute little student who is loved by everyone but is constantly on the verge of failing and getting one bad grade after another.

Yor: You bought Anya a taco?
Loid: Yes.
Yor: From the same truck that hit Yuri?!
Loid, handing Anya the taco: Well, Anya starving isn't gonna help him.

"I love you." She finally let out.
What came after, it was something she did without knowing. Tilting her face to him, she tugged his necktie and gave a quick but shocking kiss. Loid was frozen for a moment. Upon realizing what she just did, Yor turned away and started walking.
"Yor!" Loid called out.
Yor stopped in her tracks.
"Please... Face me."
When she did, he also came crashing. Loid held her fast and kissed her. It wasn't aggressive but it was a kiss that showed how much he's been holding back all this time.

Loid: Yor, I just need to tell you this.
Loid: I'm in love with you and I know you don't feel the same-
Yor, who has had a crush on him since Camilla's party: I'm in love with you too!
Loid: ...I don't know what to do with this information.

Just wanted to share a thought... (Spy x Family)
I know it's probably me just overanalyzing details. But, is it just me or...
...with how that scene was set up, Anya was originally going to punch Emile? (Don't ask why, I used the English dub.)
I know it's a crappy assumption. But, he was the one who shoved her. So, it kinda made more sense to me.
So, now I'm stuck thinking:
“What would've happened, if she didn't hold back the first time?”
Or to be more clear,
“What would've been her relationship with Damian, if his friend was the one Anya punched instead?”

Spy x Family workbook scans - part 2
The second SxF workbook is about programming, though it's just comprised of very simple logic problems. But regardless, the illustrations are once again extremely adorable ❤️
Family outing time! (in their outfits from the Berlint aquarium episode)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chibi versions of the characters, including the only image of chibi Sylvia! (for you @kaibutsu-kid)
Tumblr media
One of the scenarios in the book involves picking the right ingredients based on what Anya wants (meat and eggs) but also nothing fried, since Loid has a stomachache 😦
Tumblr media
Yor is going to cook! The book doesn't explicitly say anything about her bad cooking, but Anya says "Mama, don't overdo it" as she and Bond look at her worriedly! (also, strangely, they have Yor refer to herself as "watakushi" even though the pronoun she always uses for herself is "watashi").
Tumblr media
One of my favorite images from this book - mother/daughter grocery shopping 😊
Tumblr media
Whatever Yor ended up cooking, at least she's happy about it!
Tumblr media
Some cute Anya~
Tumblr media
And cute Anya & Bond!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Such adorable Bond poses ❤️ I love his angry face!
Tumblr media
Loid peeking in on Anya studying and her indignant expression 😅
Tumblr media
The book acknowledges Yor's city hall job and her job as Thorn Princess, which is a nice detail!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also Loid's job as a pshychiatrist.
Tumblr media
Becky and Anya on their way to somewhere fun~
Tumblr media
Lol, wherever Anya is going with Yor here, she doesn't look enthused 😅
Tumblr media
This page is a cute scenario about Franky making a robot and giving it instructions in the proper order to open the wine bottle.
Tumblr media
Yuri makes a brief appearance in this book too. Judging by the look on his face, he must be drinking something that Yor made for him and not Loid 😂
Tumblr media
And lastly, Anya in a Bondman costume! Loid needs to get her that in canon.
Tumblr media
Continue to Part 3 ->

Their relationship "post reveal" will depend a lot on the way it happens and how initial shock and assumptions are handled. While it could be rocky at the start, I don't think it has that high potential of breaking them up in long term.
Sorry about wall post incoming TuT I rly tried to keep it short but....
• As far as trust is concerned, I think it's Yor who might have more trouble trusting Twilight than other way around initially. He's the one doing the most lying here, Yor is just lying by omission about her real job, but other than that she's being honest. Paranoia is integral part of Twilights character already. It became his reflex to doubt everyone since his survival depends on it and as a professional liar he won't judge her too hard about it. It would be very hypocritical of him and he knows it.
He is fairly confidant in his ability to judge people's character. He picks up on Yor's honesty that's why he's so comfortable around her so after initial shock, he wouldn't distrust her as a person necessarily, but he might be wary of what he shares with her, provided in this scenario WISE and Garden are still at odds as organizations and don't know about their best operatives entanglement yet. Just as Yuri being SSS agent didn't phase him much, I don't think he would stop working with Yor at the drop of a hat. That could make The Garden more suspicious of him (to suddenly drop her), especially since they have their eye on him now because of his interest for Donovan.
Besides he's already sure Yor doesn't know about Yuri being SS officer, so it will finally make sense why she needs this cover as much as he does. So in a way that also makes them partners in crime xD Because she would be even more incriminated by hiding a Western Spy on top of being serial killer with 10+ year streak. She's even more effed even if only his secret get's found out, so it's in their benefit to watch each others back really.
• We don't know for sure if he's on Garden's (or Yor's specifically) hit list. But we can safely assume he's probably being spied on by Gardens informants because of his interest in Desmond and his party. I am under impression Garden only goes after certifiably corrupt politicians and criminal organizations, not spies and informants, especially on suspicions alone. Unless spy in question is on their trail specifically, like Franky's informant friend who got offed by them if the rumor is true.
What Garden does about Twilight depends on what they gather through investigating Loid Forger and since Twilight is really good at his job, it may take a while for Garden to find a crack in his cover and peg him as foreign spy, and especially connect him to legendary "The Twilight" himself. They might want to asses first what his intention with Donovan is before sending a hitman after him.
He could be just harmless little Sp(y)der in their Garden. Some insects are good for plants, some are not, so unless it's their ass secrecy on the line, or it interferes with their agenda, I don't think they will waste resources on hunting down Spies if they are not a direct threat to any of those.
• Main point of tension in their relationship after reveal will be the motivation behind what they do/what their respective organizations stand for. Assuming there's nothing more to the WISE and Garden and their goal is to prevent war, once they get on the same page about that I see high potential for their cooperation, and officially approving Twilights and Thorn Princesses relationship would be a symbol of that unity and peace they seek. But as far as how will they manage Family life with their real work — it could go either way honestly, but since they are already making it work while keeping it a secret I think they'll manage just fine xD
DEAR SPY X FAMILY FANDOM AND MORE SPECIFICALLY TWIYOR ENJOYERS
Everyone talks about post-reveal TwiYor like how they will react, jokes about leaving Anya home alone, them working together, etc etc
But I’ve not seen anyone considering the possibility that this will be a major blow to their relationship
Like think about it, regardless of the fact we all know Twilight is getting attached to his new family, he still is constantly thinking about how everything is about the mission. Everything is for the mission. Regardless of him going soft, what if him figuring out Yor is an assassin kinda like… breaks him????
He’s going against everything he knows and trusting Yor and Anya. He’s tested Yor, background checked her, everything. He’s been suspicious. But after his tests, he trusts her (and still somewhat uses her for his mission). So finding out she’s Thorn Princess, why would he, realistically, immediately want to work with her or continue the mission with her?
And also Yor, I don’t recall them outright stating what her objective was. She’s mentioned an assassination, and in the anime (I can’t remember if it was in the manga too) Anya was seen muttering asking Yor not to kill Loid. We know she’s hardcore crushing on Loid, so I doubt she’d go through with it but still. They’re using each other. The possibility Yor was going to try to off Loid originally after their agreement was over is possible. Not likely anymore, but as an original plan.
If they are revealed to each other, who’s to say it doesn’t end up disastrous? Yor kills people who pose threats to her country and people she cares about, as an assassin. As a spy, Twilight gathers information, goes on missions, and in varying methods, squashes those who pose threats to the peace of Ostania and Westalis both.
Sorry I’m kinda dragging this on, I’ll get to the point
Post reveal, why should Twilight trust Yor after figuring out she’s an assassin? Do we know for a fact Twilight isn’t on Yor’s or the Garden’s list of people to get rid of? And do we know Thorn Princess isn’t on WISE’s list of threats?
They are both job-driven, mission-driven. They’re probably both preparing for the day they might have to separate (just definitely not because they find out the other is a spy/assassin), so as much as we’d love for it to be cute and “Omg let’s work together” the likelihood is it won’t happen.
Not to mention, something like this could keep Twilight from trusting anyone ever again, especially when and if it’s exposed Anya is a telepath.
And to put a cherry on top, would Yor tell Yuri about her findings? She doesn’t know he’s secret police, so what’s stopping her?

Twilight getting caught up in the illusion of having a family and then feeling bad for Nightfall since she's so lonely and has no one and no one likes her at all (like Handler can't even get to assign her with any other agents cause they all hate her) so he tries to get her to socialize with the other ladies at her job and tries to get her friends but she's so disinterested and doesn't even try

SxF Chapter 102 -- Love and War
As personally tragic as the current Spy x Family manga arc is, I feel it's one of the most powerful yet. To me, it's on par with Twilight's backstory, maybe even surpassing it. It encases the themes of the senselessness of war and blind hatred of the "other" within a tale of star-crossed lovers whom the audience has come to care about as secondary characters. It carries subtle foreboding for our main characters, Twilight and Yor, though it's never directly stated. I hold out hope that at some point in a future chapter, Twilight or Yor will have a life-changing conversation with one of these wise elderly mentor figures, when one of them is at a personal low point and has to decide whether their (hopefully almost real by then) marriage is worth fighting for.
That is good storytelling. Richly layered like a Lady M cake.
One of the messages that struck me was the non-love triangle between Martha, Henry, and Lucia. It could have easily become a love triangle in another author's hands, or in a different genre. Or in a fanfic written by Becky Blackbell, lol. The panels of Martha's heart and dreams shattering into pieces after meeting Lucia were utterly devastating. It was her lowest point.
Tumblr media
But she didn't stay there. She didn't seek revenge or to be a homewrecker (that's a no-no, young miss), she didn't fall into bitterness and break off all ties with Henry and Lucia, she didn't stop living her life. She danced ballet again even though her injuries from the war hindered her. She danced in tears, with a broken heart, but she still danced. And she danced with Henry and Lucia as her staunchest supporters in the audience. She didn't push their kindness away or close herself off from them.
Tumblr media
The panels below moved me so much. The detail is small, but Lucia is crying. Tears of joy are falling down her face as she watches Martha dance on the stage.
Tumblr media
Lucia came from a privileged family, one of the so-called "elites" that Becky quite hilariously disparages, but they were a family that sought to rebuild the country and heal people from the war. And that healing starts with individuals like Martha. Lucia had to have figured out at some point, whether directly or indirectly from Henry or Martha, that the two of them had a history together. That if not for the war, Henry very well may have become Martha's husband instead. Lucia might even have felt sad or guilty for being "that woman," an interloper between star-crossed lovers. She too had the chance to push Martha away or distance herself from her husband's past so as to feel more secure about herself. But she didn't do that. She embraced Martha with open arms and supported her dreams. She loved her as a friend, so deeply that she cried at her ballet performance. Martha loved her so deeply in return that even 15 years after her death, she continues to bring flowers to her grave. Not even Henry brought flowers in the end panels of this chapter.
This is the kind of love that heals nations after a devastating war. Even though the three people in this scenario are all Ostanians, this is still the same kind of love with the power to heal the deepest wounds. What wound can be deeper than losing the love of your life to someone else? And yet all three of them make the best of the situation and find the courage to reach out to each other instead of turning away, lashing out, or living in denial or unresolved bitterness.
Tumblr media
Endo is showing us through the heartbreaking, heartwarming stories of these individual characters what the path to prevent the next war is. To be wounded by others and have our hearts broken, whether romantically or through betrayal by friends and family or through the callous actions of the ruling class, is an unavoidable part of life. But how we choose to react to that hurt makes all the difference.
This is why I made forgiveness and reconciliation the core theme of my fic Orpheus. To me, it remains the most powerful theme of all in storytelling, because it is the hardest thing for a human soul to do. It takes incredible courage, and it requires metaphorical death. To die to oneself, as Christ says, to take up the cross, the instrument of your own execution, and to pay the cost of someone else's wrongdoing even if you had no part in it. The alternative is to make the other person pay---which feeds the cycle of violence and retribution, at the most extreme on a national level---or to bury it deep inside and cut yourself off from a chance at real human relationships. All relationships involve risk. The deeper the relationship, the greater the risk.
I am so grateful for this magnificent arc in the manga. I can't wait to see what Endo has in store for us next, and how he will tie in the broader story of our main cast into the lessons from Martha and Henry's love. Because it's still love, even if they never acted on it romantically. Given their circumstances, it's an even purer love for the fact that they didn't.
