“Can you believe that?” She laughed bitterly and cut through the silence like a knife, on the verge of tears. “A small child, standing up to some terrorists while the authorities fight over how to handle the situation?”

Loid didn’t know how to feel. The idea of a six-year-old being on the front lines of war-related adult conflict and confronting a terrorist group was completely blasphemous, and it made him feel completely sick to his stomach. Sometimes, Loid couldn’t believe the things Anya had gotten herself into, while also managing to put herself in danger. First the kidnapping, the drowning kid at the pool, the crisis with Minister Brantz (and that time he’d given her a proper stern talking to), and now the involvement of these terrorists. All of these scenarios were a result of being involved with him.

And it weighed heavily on his heart.
