They’re the worst Cody’s ever seen them, ragged and torn and completely untended. Some of the feathers are just bare quills, stripped of their fluff, like something’s been chewing on them. Obi-Wan has tended to the feathers he can reach, the primaries and secondaries, but clearly hasn’t let anyone help him with the others.

Cody reaches out to touch them, then stops. They probably hurt like hell. “I’m going to start on your left wing, at the edge. Is that okay?”

Obi-Wan glances at him over his shoulder, blue eyes murky with fear.

It’s basically A New Hope role swap between Leia and Luke, with Leia being older by a few years and remembering who her parents are and what happened. You can read it over at AO3!

Luke and Lando's Great Hustle

Luke is tired of being set up with this guy or the next by his well-meaning but overly meddling family, so during one fateful call with Leia he finally snaps and tells her that he's dating none other than Lando Calrissian. Only they're not actually dating.

As such Luke and Lando agree to pretend to be dating for a week at Luke's parents' lake house on Naboo, with Luke's entire family there.

Hope this doesn't awaken anything in either of them.

“By Creed, A Clan of Three” Chapter 9

Chapter 9 is up, and it has the second of Claude Mouton’s amazing artworks!  Luke and Din finally have a long-overdue conversation.

Summary: While taking Grogu on an expedition to find lost relics of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker is attacked by a Mandalorian splinter faction. They take him by surprise, leave him for dead, and take Grogu. Their demands for his safe return: Din Djarin faces their leader, Dred Priest, in single combat to decide the ownership of the Darksaber. Luke and Din must work together to conceal the truth of Luke’s survival and to find a way to get Grogu back. But their way forward is unclear, muddled by Din’s mistrust of and anger with Luke for losing Grogu, and Luke’s own desire to prove himself to Din.

One thing is clear, however: if they cannot find a way to stand together, they will most certainly fall apart.

SWBB 2022 ANNOUNCEMENT

Hey everyone! Is it really that time of year again?

The Star Wars Big Bang 2022 is here! We’re stoked to bring you another year of this awesome event. That being said, there’s a few changes.

What’s new?

Author requirements will stay the same as last year. There will be multiple checkpoints throughout the event for accountability purposes, during which you will need to submit a draft of your fic.

Sign-ups start TODAY! You can find the form here.

There are three categories you can sign up for. At the first check in, you’ll need to submit the minimum wordcount for the category, OR a completed outline of the entire thing. If you’re going with the first option, the word count for check-in 1 is:

     5k-10k category: 3k words

     10k-20k category: 3k words

     20k+ category: 6k words

Author sign-ups close the same day, so make sure you get your form submitted by then!

Remember, this is only a draft! We’re not going to be looking for polished, ready-to-publish work at this stage. It can be as messy as you want it to be, so long as it’s started and meets the required wordcount for check-in.

NOTE: It is a mandatory requirement to list trigger warnings or other sensitive content that may be included in your fic. These warnings must be present in the story details and in the tags of the published content. Failure to list trigger warnings will result in a ban for next year’s event. Please consult the FAQ for the full list of warnings.

Beta reader sign-ups are being overhauled.

This year, a sign-up form will be released alongside the author sign-up form. Shortly after sign-ups have begun, authors will receive a beta reader request form, through which they can get help finding a beta reader that suits their needs, whether that be help with the overall plot and structure of the fic, or just someone to check for typos. Once both forms are compiled, we’ll start matching beta readers with authors.

Artist signups are the same this year.

We’ll have sign-up forms finalized soon, so keep an eye on this space. On February 4, you’ll receive story details. Select your top 3. There are no guarantees you’ll get your first choice, but you can trust that Lily and the mod team are going to do their best to pair everyone with something they’ll enjoy creating for.

Now for our biggest change:

The collection reveal date is being moved up. That’s right, reveals will be happening earlier! Over the years, May 4th seemed like the obvious choice, but many authors have expressed concerns about many other events revealing on the same day. In order to give authors’ fics a better chance at being seen, the collection will now close on April 21st and be revealed on April 22nd.

That means everything is getting shuffled around.

The new schedule

November 1: Event start. Author and Beta signups are open NOW. While the forms will be linked in this post, a separate post containing the forms will also be posted. Beta matching will continue throughout the event.

January 18: Author Check-In 1. Authors are required to submit either a completed outline of their fic OR a draft at the minimum required wordcount. See the author requirements above for the minimum wordcount per category. Author sign-ups will also close.

February 1: Beta reader and Artist sign-ups close. Final story details are due.

February 4: Story details will be sent out to artists for claims. See the above artist requirements for more details.

February 11: Artist claims are due.

February 16: Author Check-In 2. 75% fic completion is required for this check-in. Fic and artist pairings will be sent out. Note: This day is the last day for authors to drop out of the event without penalty.

March 25: Author Check-In 3. Authors will send in their finished, unedited drafts.

April 10: This day is the last day for beta readers and artists to drop out of the event without penalty. Pinch hitting begins.

April 15: The AO3 collection opens. Authors and artists may begin posting their work to the collection.

April 21: Posting to the AO3 collection closes. You cannot submit to the collection after this date.

April 22: The collection is revealed!

We hope that these changes make for a smoother event for everyone who participates. We can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Summary: Rex has heard the rumours surrounding Commander Cody and is willing to admit he's intimidated by the reputation. But when Cody arrives to replace Alpha-17 as the commander of the 212th Rex finds Cody is not at all what he was expecting. On top of that, Cody seems to have taken a particular interest in him.

Summary:

Marshal Commander Cody of the 7th Sky Corps is, despite his reputation, mortal. When a severe injury threatens his life and his continued ability to function should he recover, protocol states he should be sent back to Kamino. It does not explicitly state that he would likely be decommissioned, but his vode all know how to read between the lines.

General Kenobi’s response is equally predictable.

Art I did for @pontmercyingtil‘s Star Wars 2022 Big Bang @swbigbang fic! It’s a medieval retelling of Star Wars with Cassian Andor as the knight sent by Bail Organa, after surviving the battle of Scarif, to accompany Princess Leia Organa to the land of Tatooine to find General Kenobi. And along the way they run into all sorts of adventure, feelings and friends!

The fic is titled ‘sand in the gears of time’ and you can read it here at AO3. Thank you so much once again! It was a joy to be paired up together and I enjoyed working together to see the fic come to life!
