Hey! I'm thinking about running a scifi-horror ttrpg and looking for players!
System: SWADE, with the scifi expansion and some homebrew
Date/Time: probably thursdays at 6pm EST (GMT-4) on Discord VC. Sessions would be relatively short (2-3 hours).
Slots: 4-6
More details under the cut!
Welcome to the year 2350! You are from the Martian colonies (a resident thought, not a colonist, it's been a few generations) and have been sent to investigate the collapsed Alpha dome (one of the other martian colonies). It died long before your birth, and you've only heard rumors about what it holds. Recently, an unknown radio transmission was sent from the tower, and you and your party are going in to investigate and figure out what is going on. As you venture deeper into the dead colony, attempting to reach the Spire from where the message originated from, the creatures you encounter become more obscure, more unreal, more "stitched together by a madman" rather than something naturally occurring. You've got to get the information and get out before *he* takes you as well
(Horror-scifi-y)
This is a homebrewed world using a mix of SWADE and some homebrew magic-ing. It can be a bit difficult to pick up at first, but I am totally willing to work with you to figure it out! I will never leave you in the dark... well at least when figuring out game mechanics. Will be fairly lore heavy but still with a decent amount of combat!
I would not picture this being a full length campaign, but would be probably 10-15 sessions? Maybe more or less?
Would also prefer adults but technically there is no mature content, so minors permitted on a case by case basis!
Dm me on discord (theoddcryptid) with your preferred name, pronouns, age, and what drew you to the game! After slots are filled, no more dms will be answered!

A Question/Poll: Please Help Pick My Next TTRPG Read, 2/22/24 Edition
I'm more'n halfway through the Army of Darkness RPG corebook, so it's time to pick next.
Gonna try streamlining a bit. Instead of my usual series of pulp/not pulp, licensed/not licensed, I'm going to pick a semi-random collection of categories, some of which will produce additional polls, some of which won't.
So, here goes!
(I have purchased so many things I really cannot keep track; I keep thinking of more things I wanted to add)
Gonna try to tag game creators below, but I suspect I'll end up with too many tags, and probably won't include 'em all in the reblogs.

My first ttrpg (setting) Street Wolves is now getting a turbo upgrade on Kickstarter.
Street Wolves takes place in the late 1980s and it features investigators on the edge fighting hidden foes in the neon shadows.
I'm looking to get it printed with a layout upgrade, and stretch goals include more art, adventures, and a campaign! Plus there's tons of cool add-ons available.
Please check it out!

Kept you waiting huh?
I am brining this blog back! I am still streaming, I just kind of neglected this place. My current schedule is:
Tuesday 6:30 P.M. EST Castle Crashers
Thursday 6:30 P.M. EST Yakuza 0 with my friend Nanathotep
I also have two once a month TTRPG streams. I run a Pathfinder 2E game using The Abomination Vaults Adventure Path. And I run a game using the Savage Worlds system, using an old setting called Sundered Skies. Both are a lot of fun, and follow me here to learn when those go live!

I’m running what is, hopefully, the finale of the ‘Jailbreak’ episode of ‘The Midnight Crew’ this weekend! Our party, who I’ll describe later, are villains of ‘The Weird Ward’ setting, working under a master thief named Q to steal things his newfound form no longer can manage ( he’s been turned into a yucky little duck).
The party in question, consisting of Demo Dutch ( well meaning affable oaf with a ‘hulk’ style rage mode), Lobo (Italian assassin who can command and transform into dogs), Pipedream (my brother, a curmudgeonly lunk who can transform into living metal), Toolkit (jaded iconoclast technopath), Mojito (friendly barkeep who can break down his body into lengths of prehensile sinew, with limited shapeshifting ability), and The Breeze (survivor of The Battle of Blair Mountain, now an invisible saboteur extraordinaire), have been tasked by their mallard majordomo to break somebody out of prison.
The who? The infamous living biohazard Doctor Alchemy, who can transmogrify the chemical makeup of anything by touch alone. The prison? ‘The Brig’, a mechanical Alcatraz afloat in the middle of Lake Michigan, staffed by the Bureau against Unknown Relativistic Phenomena, guarded by a quartet of Edisonian Iron Men, and surrounded by a perpetual blizzard. Our Midnight Crew has made it into the prison proper, but can they keep up their charade as agents of B. U. R. P. to get to Dr. Alchemy? Does he even want to be broken out? What are Q’s motives, really?
All these questions will be answered in this upcoming episode of The Midnight Crew!

Daily Drawing #54
Played with my TTRPG group last night, so drew my character The Behemoth. We did fight skeletons but actually I grabbed the necromancer and slammed him into a skeleton instead of this lmao. Just didn't wanna draw a whole extra guy.
We're playing Savage Worlds in the Rippers setting! Basically Victorian monster hunters. SW doesn't have classes but they're essentially a Barbarian, with a berserk ability and everything. Rippers specifically has this system of implanting body parts from supernatural creatures to give abilities and such, so Behemoth is a hand-to-hand fighter with werewolf claws. And is full of fiend's blood, and is abnormally big. I'm a sucker for dark experiments and body horror. I usually play magic users in DnD so I was purposefully trying to make a very different character. They've been pretty cool to play so far!

Shay of the Fire Keepers - Holder of Knowledge and Assistant to Lady Eglatine Solanales
Wanted to paint Eglatine's partner, Shay. They're a little bookworm that cares not for your gender ideals, and would rather be reading. They're a member of an occult society that deals in magic, and Eglatine's closest confidant. Wonder if they've ever wanted more?
Shay belongs to @/everlastingritz

We're about to start a Necessary Evil Campaign, and so I wanted to cover the characters in this game. The PCs, the NPCs will come up organically. Now, other read throughs I have read and groups on Facebook that talk about this campaign have all had what I would say are fairly normal, evil human who has superpowers batman or the flash style villains. But not my group of chaos goblins.
We start with the seemingly normal "The Gift".
The Gift, or Carl as he usually goes, teleports. This sounds pretty normal right? No. Carl explodes when he teleports, or rather, the concussive force of the spontaneous displacement... look, he has a Damage Field that's Permanent, but also Contingent on Teleport, so he can't not explode on tele-- I'm not getting into the rules but teleport makes explode. So when he activates his teleport the equivalent of a grenade goes off hurting everything and everyone in the area. And no, he can't choose not to hurt things or people, so he can't like, teleport to the hostage or teleport you out of danger. Oh, and his weapon of choice? He throws grenades.
Then alphabetically we have Glocktopus. A genetically engineered gun toting Octopus. Literally an octopus with telepathy, guns, aand some disguise as human skills, like Octodad but also al Capone. I don't remember whether he always walks on 2 tentacles aand has 6 guns, or usually has 8.
Then Grave Mistake, a cursed necromancer who summons zombies and has bad luck powers, causing people to make mistakes and also machines to break but also he is throwing zombies at you. He may be the least insane.
Next is Major Zen'cha. The Major is a slug like alien which came to Earth to conquer it, only to have his thunder stolen when the V'Sori conquered it first. Bad timing. So he has a super suit that looks like a human but is nigh indestructible. Zen'cha isn't the fiercest in combat, but he is quite the tank and skill monkey (skill sluggy). All of his points went into being skilled and smart, aand all of his powers went into being hard to kill.
And finally, Ufrek. Ufrek is a malleable silvery robot, think the T1000 from T2 except it's always shiny silver and never has a color. Ufrek turns it's body into blades and spikes and has no ethics or morals, and is really really good at close combat. He is a Cuisinart with legs.
So that's it. That's my crew, as it stands now.
Right now they're in a V'Sori prison being transported to a lab, where some of them will be dissected and others will simply be destroyed.
But unbeknownst to them (but beknownst to us!), Baron Blade has a mighty need for exactly the kind of distraction our Protagonists can provide!
Wait? Baron Blade? Like from Sentinels of the Multiverse? Yes. I'm setting this particular iteration of Necessary Evil: Invasion in the SotM universe, which mostly means changing a few NPC names.

A TTRPG Question
For lore/fluff purposes, if I were to purchase all Deadlands SWADE stuff, would there still be value in also purchasing assorted Deadlands Classic Sourcebooks?
If so, which?

Street Wolves: Turbo Edition is ending soon on Kickstarter!
It's the rad Savage Worlds setting feature agents on the edge fighting evil in the neon shadows of an alternate 1980s.
It's been a dream of mine to get Street Wolves into print and this campaign will not only allow me to do that, but I can also replace stock art I wasn't super into! There's 40+ of new art coming!
Other cool stuff includes a couple adventures, a full on campaign, and custom music. It's pretty much the perfect version of the setting and I've excited to be able to make it happen.
So please check it out on Kickstarter if it sounds cool to you!
