10 Trends You Should Know in Corporate Gifting for 2024
As we navigate through 2024, corporate gifting continues to evolve with new trends that emphasize personalization, sustainability, and innovation. Whether you're looking to strengthen client relationships, reward employees, or make a lasting impression, staying updated on these trends can help you choose gifts that resonate and leave a positive impact. Here are the top 10 trends in corporate gifting for 2024:
1. Personalization is Key
Customization remains a cornerstone of effective corporate gifting. Personalized gifts tailored to individual preferences or company values show thoughtfulness and attention to detail.
2. Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Choices
With a growing emphasis on environmental responsibility, eco-friendly gifts are gaining popularity. Sustainable materials like bamboo, recycled materials, and products with minimal carbon footprints are becoming preferred options.
3. Tech-Savvy Gadgets
Incorporating technology into gifts adds a modern touch. Consider gadgets such as wireless chargers, smart devices, or innovative tech accessories that align with your recipients' interests.
4. Wellness and Self-Care
Gifts promoting wellness and self-care are highly appreciated. Options include spa kits, aromatherapy sets, fitness accessories, and mindfulness tools to help recipients prioritize their well-being.
5. Virtual Experiences
As remote work continues, virtual experiences offer meaningful alternatives to traditional gifts. Consider subscriptions to online classes, virtual cooking lessons, or personalized virtual tours.
6. Local and Artisanal Products
Supporting local artisans and businesses adds a personal touch to corporate gifts. Choose products that reflect the culture and uniqueness of your region, enhancing the gift's authenticity.
7. Inclusive and Diverse Gifts
Celebrating diversity through inclusive gifts that respect various cultures and backgrounds fosters a sense of belonging among recipients. Choose gifts that promote inclusivity and represent diverse perspectives.
8. Sustainable Packaging
In addition to the gift itself, sustainable packaging is gaining importance. Opt for recyclable or biodegradable materials to minimize environmental impact and align with sustainable practices.
9. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Alignment
Aligning gifts with your company's CSR initiatives demonstrates commitment to social causes. Choose gifts that support charitable organizations, environmental conservation efforts, or community projects.
10. Memorable Experiences
Gifts that create lasting memories are impactful. Consider experiences such as tickets to events, gourmet dining experiences, or personalized travel packages that create unforgettable moments.
Embrace these trends to elevate your corporate gifting strategy in 2024. Whether you're aiming to strengthen relationships, boost employee morale, or impress clients, choosing gifts thoughtfully can make a significant difference. Following months of escalating protest over the organization’s response to Israel’s war on Gaza, and the recent withdrawal of over a third of this year’s nominees, the 2024 PEN America Literary Awards have now officially been cancelled. In the last hour, PEN America confirmed this cancellation in a press release published on the organization’s website: PEN America announced today the cancellation of its annual Literary Awards ceremony, and released the names of its 2024 award finalists and winners. It was a very difficult decision not to move forward with a public celebration to recognize this year’s honorees, according to PEN America’s Literary Programming Chief Officer Clarisse Rosaz Shariyf. “We greatly respect that writers have followed their consciences, whether they chose to remain as nominees in their respective categories or not,” said Rosaz Shariyf. “We regret that this unprecedented situation has taken away the spotlight from the extraordinary work selected by esteemed, insightful and hard-working judges across all categories. As an organization dedicated to freedom of expression and writers, our commitment to recognizing and honoring outstanding authors and the literary community is steadfast.” [...] For the cash prizes that could not be conferred, a decision about how to allocate the funds will be made on a case-by-case basis, according to the specifications of each award contract and the wishes of our generous award underwriters. Of the 61 authors and translators nominated for a book award this cycle, 28 authors chose to withdraw their books from consideration. Nine of the ten authors recognized as nominees for the PEN/Jean Stein Book Award withdrew their work from consideration. Katrina Vanden Heuvel, Wendy Vanden Heuvel, and Bill Clegg, on behalf of the foundation and the Literary Estate of Jean Stein, provided the following statement: “Jean Stein was a passionate advocate for Palestinian rights who published, supported, and celebrated Palestinian writers and visual artists. While she established the PEN America award in her name to bring attention to and provide meaningful support to writers of the highest literary achievement, we know she would have respected the stance and sacrifice of the writers who have withdrawn from contention this year. To honor their decision the Estate of Jean Stein has directed PEN America to donate the $75,000 award to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.”

Anyone else enjoy thrifting and thrift shopping?
It's one of my favorite ways of keeping stuff out of the garbage heap.
And Sometimes you just need something. Sometimes, it might be cheap pants, shirts, "new" cookware or eating utensils, ridiculous decorative stuff. A ton can be found through thrifting and i don't necessarily have to feel guilty in buying some stuff I might not have gotten otherwise (or needed). Mostly because while it's already had 1 life, why not another while it's still functional and keep it out of the dump longer? 🌱💚 🌱 no need for new for everything if it's already made and here :)
I haven't been able to for a long time as I like to carpool or have donations to bring with, was able to recently go with some friends and wanted to share some of the neat buys I found.
I don't usually get lucky with pretty homemade quilts being available when thrifting, but I found this one and am pretty excited about it, (this was my top find this time)
To me, it looks hand stitched entirely, there's a few small tears that will need minimal repair and a few spots that will need some reinforcement as theres a bit of thinning. Otherwise it's quite beautiful and I know it must have taken the maker a bit of time to do. Also i must admit, im kind of inspired to get my hands back to quilting again soon from this beauty.
A sweet deal on this embroidery floss and tool(?)
To be quite honest I'm not really sure what the tool being pointed at is, if anyone knows please share your knowledge! I'll likely use the floss on some hat projects for gifts this year.
Also, I found a bag with all these bobbins and thread. I've been looking for more bobbin containers cause I like to have a full one for the common colors I use when I'm sewing. These colors I'll probably use for binding smaller quilts (dog, cat, baby, and lap quilt sized) or for attempts at making clothing if fabrics are similar colored.
I also found
A set of ceramic measuring cups with handles,
kitchen knife,
2 crocheted blankets, lap/single sized,
2 nice new picture frames (still wrapped),
A book (fun reading material),
And what I thought was a ceramic pancake 🥞 or tortilla holder/warmer for breakfast, but I think it is actually for something else? I'm using it to store fresh ginger tubers at the moment (later, mayby garlic bulbs)
I was hoping for some nice fabric to try my hands at skirt making and some interesting quilting fabric, but nothing in the selection really caught my eye this round. Lots of pretty kitchen ware and nicknacks, though. Unfortunately, there no time to even look at the clothes before we had to head off, no big loss though.
That's it for now,
🌱🌻Happy Homesteading and sustainability efforts!🌻🌱

White eco influencers on the internet will look you in the eye and say do not ever use giftbags and wrapping paper 😡😡 wrap your presents in some nasty ass old towels🤗🤗 people will not like that but that's the only way that doesnt hurt the planet 😇 meanwhile actual normal ppl will go like oh this gift bag? We've been using it every birthday since 2005, it still looks good. I'm buying new wrapping paper this year cause I have no pieces left from the last one I bought 4 years ago

why are 99% of crochet animal patterns just vague blobs. cmon. i know we can do better as a community. have you seen the shit the national parks service put out? yeah, the NPS. there are grandmas on the frontlines of the most formally accurate critters this side of a 3D printer. we can do better than orb with two triangles sewn on. we can make a more accurate cat. that is NOT what a turtle looks like. step AWAY from the axolotl
#EVERYTHINGS TOO CHIBI CMON. WE CAN HAVE VARIETY. WE CAN HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF CHALLENGE#i’m not saying everything has to be photorealistic. but it feels love every new pattern i see is the same basic shapes recycled#because people are so desperate to have ~content~ that they don’t have time to technically develop their skills to a point where they#actually have something to contribute to the conversation artistically#text✨#this is extremely petty. however : come ON. so much of the crochet content i see is extremely beginner basic stuff newbies are being tricked#into mass producing for ‘markets’ where they are very unlikely to sell#and then they burn out of the hobby within a few weeks. this is NOT sustainable. and extremely wasteful of time and resources#i hate you should sell culture it’s. extremely annoying#i try to only do stuff that is either a) at least nominally useful or b) a gift for someone . bc i so desperately do not want to burn out#on this hobby and i love it sm . i feel so bad for all the people i see getting conned by the you gotta sell attitude and just. ruining the#hobby for themselves. you gotta do it for you you gotta#on topic. also like cmon. stop chibifying animals that are culturally significant to other communities just for money

All gas no brakes
“Go ahead and say I told you so,” Grace muttered, not under her breath per se, but not exactly over it. The snark engendered by the toggle between acute pain and acute embarrassment occupied its own undefinable level, like being in-between floors on an elevator. “Or whatever the equivalent laconic verbalization you’d prefer in its place. You can grunt it.”
“That gonna make you feel better, darlin’?” Joel said, instead of I-told-you-so. Or grunting. He used a regular voice, didn’t sound put out at all, even though it was plenty of extra work for him, what he was doing, drawing the well-water, heating it, and filling the basin, then carrying it all into the sitting room where she’d deposited herself like the proverbial sack of potatoes.
“Maybe,” Grace said. She sounded more like a peevish teenager than Ellie did most of the time. Perimenopause was a bitch and she wasn’t even considering the lack of any Korean skincare products.
“I doubt it,” Joel replied. He didn’t grin but there was a gleam in his eyes that meant the same thing. “Put your feet in here. It’ll feel almost too hot for a little while, then good. When it’s cold, I’ll get some more hot water and add some salt, then I got some of that salve for after—”
“It’s just blisters,” Grace said, hissing as she put her feet into the hot water that did feel almost too hot and then wonderful. “My own stupid fault, I shouldn’t have worn those boots, not with those socks. You’d’ve thought I’d learn by now.”
“You’ve learned plenty,” he said. “Ain’t you a doctor?”
“You wouldn’t think it,” Grace said, making a gesture towards her feet, obscured somewhat by the water. The worst of the blisters were hard to see at this angle, but she’d done a number on herself.
“Yeah, I would. You ignored feelin’ like shit and kept hikin’ for another four miles to get those drugs,” he said.
“We need them,” she said.
“I know,” he said. “Coulda waited—”
“You don’t know that,” Grace retorted. There weren’t many other scavengers around it seemed, but all it would take was one canny enough to take the meds, and she’d be shit out of luck. She was already pressing said luck in her generous interpretation of expiration dates.
“All I’m sayin’ is, don’t beat yourself up for blistering your feet bloody ‘cause you were gettin’ medical supplies,” Joel said. “Bad enough I won’t be able to give you a foot massage for at least two weeks.”
Grace closed her eyes in a mixture of defeat and dismay. Joel was good in bed but absolute magic when it came to a foot massage.
“This never would’ve happened Before,” she said. Joel sat down next to her and put his arm around her shoulders, inviting her to snuggle without actually crowding her. She leaned in, careful not to move her feet very much and make the water slosh onto the floor. His flannel shirt smelled of woodsmoke, but underneath was just the scent of his skin. She wouldn’t have recognized it Before.
“I dunno,” he said.
“I was not a hiker Before. And I didn’t have time or money to go on lengthy European vacations traipsing around cobblestoned cities,” she said. “I wore clogs to the hospital. You don’t get blisters in fucking clogs. Not Danskos, anyway.”
“Fine, you wouldn’t’ve been a hiker. Still might’ve walked too long sometime in the wrong shoes,” he said.
“Yeah?”
“You would’ve done that thing where people knock doors in an election maybe, if you felt like your patients were in danger, if they needed you—”
“Canvassing,” Grace said. It was a word from another world, one with bumper stickers and artfully constructed logos and seasonally flavored coffee drinks at Starbucks. They still had pumpkins now but they were the entrée, not the seasoning.
“Yeah. And maybe you’d wear the wrong sneakers for it, but you wouldn’t say anything, not ‘til you came home,” he said. Grace canted her neck in a way ill-advised for someone who’d left forty in the dust, and looked at Joel’s face, his dark eyes, the curve of his lips as he told her a story of a memory they’d never made and never would, except for this moment when they shared the imagination of it.
“You’d be waiting for me at home?” she said.
“Yeah, Gracie. We’d have found each other any which way,” he said. She didn’t really believe it but Joel did and that, like the hot water and the warmth of his shoulder against her cheek, was enough.
For @tessa-quayle and she knows why. Canvassing is so important but any kind of volunteering is critical in these last few days. Pedro Pascal did a phonebook last week. LFG!

On Tuesdays we wear turquoise, and this season preferably a thick jumper too 🥶!
The ring I am wearing today is from the last third of the 19th century, with a bright turquoise cabochon in the center encircled by a dainty halo of sparkly rose cut diamonds. Its a ring I could imagine a forest fairy wearing - it really pops against greenery and the tiny diamonds reminds me of glittering dewdrops. To add to the ring's sweetness, it has an old engraving inside, it was gifted to a girl named Elsa.
Update - now sold

Between extra work because of the holidays, hosting Christmas for my siblings (which includes cleaning and decorating the apartment, procuring a dining table+chairs, getting the fridge repaired, etc), trying to remain no contact with my mum despite her best efforts, managing my toxic grandma's guilt-slinging, helping out my friend who's stressed about cleaning because they're hosting Christmas for their inlaws...
Lads, ya boy needs a vacation.
