Yeah yeah we’ve all heard about the fact that the asynchronous rondo is a panopticon whatever.Does anyone care that it’s conveyor belt sushi themed. I think it’s really cute :^]

I'm slowly becoming obsessed with Roblox restaurant games. Not tycoons, just restaurants.
The conveyor sushi one by Duotale is wonderful. The models are done so well, and the sounds are satisfying, and the music makes for a relaxing atmosphere. It was so good I bought one of the gamepasses. (It was also to "buy" cool food for my little sibling.)
The Tea Time Buffet one is... alright. And the Hot Pot one is a good second.
I'm planning on playing the Conveyor Sushi one with my boyfriend too, as a sort of virtual date, (e-date carefully, kids,) so I might buy the private dining gamepass one for that too.
..which means spending more money on robux. Hoo boy 😵‍💫. Be careful with online spending, kids! It's a real slippery slope. Luckily, I have self-imposed budgets, so I never get too carried away.
I've got $119 spending money for the whole week, anyway. (Don't think like I do.)
So, anyway, play Conveyor Sushi Restaurant. It's got my stamp of approval!

As mentioned in my previous post, I went to the conveyor belt sushi bar with my friend!!! This particular meetup was very special to me as it was the last one I got to do with one of my best friends before I move out of state in a week! But, I know you're just here for food so I'll spare you the details of that! Here's a photo I took of the conveyor belt, featuring a rainbow roll that I think was definitely in my top 3 dishes for this place!
Tumblr media
Speaking of, the name of this restaurant is Kura Sushi! You'll probably also see it printed on all the plates in my photos, but I also wanted to make sure you knew what it was actually called! If you're ever interested in going to Kura, I very highly recommend it!! There was only about a 20 or 30 minute wait time, but it was definitely worth it!! Apparently they do collabs all the time where if you eat so many plates of food, they give you little prizes! They were doing a Pikmin collab today, and the entire restaurant was decorated accordingly! It was so cute! They even had specialty dishes like a red crunchy roll for the red pikmin, a blueberry cheesecake for the blue pikmin, and a cheese tamago sushi for the yellow pikmin!!!
My friend and I only had about 20 plates combined, and you get a prize after every 15, I think, so we only got one and it was a pikmin themed popsocket that my friend has! But in any case, back to the actual food posting!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now I didn't take photos of every plate we got, but I did get a good handful! To start us off, I got a plate of salmon nigiri with umami oil and it was very tasty!! I'm a big fan of salmon, and the oil was a very nice addition!! In the background of that photo you can see that my dear friend got a spicy popcorn shrimp sushi! It was tasty, but I'm not the biggest fan of shrimp if I'm being honest!
We then shared what was in the second picture, though unfortunately I can't remember what that one was called! I'm writing this about 6 hours after we already left the restaurant, so you'll have to forgive me for my bad memory! I even looked at the online menu to see if I could find the name for it and still came up empty handed, but I can tell you that it was still very good!
Tumblr media
In the above photo is the rainbow roll I mentioned earlier! The tuna on this was really good, and I'm always a fan of avocado! Normally I'm pretty good at identifying ingredients in the things I eat but there was something SO tasty in these that I couldn't place! It was definitely fish or seafood, but I was too busy enjoying it to really put my finger on it lmao
Though I don't have photos of this one, I also got a squid nigiri! It tasted good but the squid itself was also very tough and chewy which made it just a bit difficulty to enjoy with the rice! It probably would've been better as sashimi, but there's a reason I'm a customer at these restaurants and not the one making the menus!
More dishes I don't have photos for were a VERY yummy tuna nigiri that I honestly wish I had gotten more of, a seared beef with umami oil sushi that my friend really loved (I'm unfortunately not a big meat eater), a yellowtail nigiri one of my other friends suggested I try that I did end up liking, a seared eel with miso cream cheese that just melted in my mouth like butter, and a jumbo hokkai scallop nigiri that I will say was SO good!! You could really taste the ocean in it and I loved it- Though it still wasn't my top favorite! Definitely top 5, though, my God it was delicious.
Tumblr media
Pictured above is my number one favorite dish from Kura: an octopus nigiri!!! Despite that it didn't have any other sauces or oils on it besides just the octopus and rice, this dish was- for lack of better words- fucking orgasmic. The octopus wasn't too tough or too soft, and it was SO flavorful!!! And the texture and flavor of the rice complimented it perfectly!! By far this was my favorite of all the dishes we had, and it's not even a contest.
Something again that I don't have a photo for but was also really yummy was the takoyaki my friend and I shared! I had never had takoyaki before and made the mistake of putting the whole thing in my mouth at once and sat there for about a minute both trying to chew it down so I could actually swallow it and wait for it to cooldown in my mouth because it was still hot lol. It wasn't as good as I was expecting to be, but that doesn't mean it was bad in any way! There was also a small bowl of warabimochi that, in all honesty, wasn't quite my cup of tea but again wasn't bad!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And lastly was dessert and drinks! We both split a slice of New York style cheesecake bc let's be honest, it's pretty hard to get NY cheesecake wrong lol. And then we both got a box of Taiyaki ice cream with red bean paste!! If I'm being honest, I truly think the pastry filled me up more than any of the sushi did, but after that I was stuffed!! They had other filling menu items that are made to order like ramen bowls and such, but we didn't get any of those!
For our drinks, my friend just got a coke and I got a raspberry iced tea! Most of what I drink is either tea or water, so I'm kind of picky with my tea but this was one genuinely really nice! It wasn't too sweet and the raspberry taste wasn't too strong- it was actually a nice palette cleanser between dishes for the whole meal! Then at the very end before we left I indulged just a bit and got a shot of plum wine!
Now I'm normally not a wine person; I much prefer cocktails or liquors, but this one was very nice! I normally struggle to actually taste the fruit in most wines, but getting to taste the plum in this one was a pleasant surprise! My friend took one sip and scrunched their face like they had just eaten a lemon- said it tasted like cough medicine- but I quite liked it! It even came with a Japanese plum at the bottom of the little bottle soaked in the wine!
Little side note about the drinks, but all the drinks are delivered to each table with a cute little delivery robot that I grew very attached to pretty much immediately after we sat down! He talked and everything :)
All in all, this was a very good experience!! After I move, I hope I can find a location for this same restaurant near the new apartment!! If not, I'll just have to find a different one and do a review post for that one as well!! Until then, it'll probably be a while until my next post considering the move and all! Not to mention the winter End of Year holidays are coming up so I'll be very busy! I might do a post for the food I get to eat at Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner and such, but it may be unlikely!

Went for a medical appointment at the local polyclinic in the morning and by the time it was done, it was nearly lunch time. Dropped in to Sushi Express (爭鮮) at Northpoint City for some conveyor belt sushi.
Tumblr media
Picked up this S$1.50 white plate Marinated Spicy Mushroom which I initially thought was mock abalone slices. Even sis who went separately with her friend said this was a good eat.
Tumblr media
A S$2 black plate with Mentaiyaki Salmon Sushi rolled pass and was picked up. The spicy cured pollack roe and mayonnaise lend a creamy umami profile to the torched fish. The Shichimi Grilled Salmon Belly Sushi is sprinkled with Shichi-mi tōgarashi (七味唐辛子) or seven-flavour chilli pepper, a common Japanese spice mixture containing seven ingredients.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The S$3 yellow plate of Mala Seared Swordfish Sushi is from the new seasonal menu. A jumbo, albeit thinly sliced swordfish topped with tuna negitoro fused with a dollop of Mala sauce. Although it said torched, there isn’t any searing marks on the fish at all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This Grilled Salmon Belly Sushi is my favourite among all the sushi rotating on the conveyor belt. Their takeaway shop used to sell this at just S$0.50 a piece which is such a steal and I buy ten pieces at a go.

AYCE lunch @ Let's Grill
Came to Let's Grill with CL after Rogue Wave.
Tumblr media
Located near Corona LRT Station, this place used to have another name . .. I've been to it before for a late night meal after badminton. Forgot the name now bcos I haven't gone back since. I don't know if they just changed ownership or what but. .. now it is a conveyor belt-containing AYCE place. That was the primary reason why we decided to come here.
Tumblr media
Always good to have other options, I suppose haha they not only have AYCE but also meal sets. For 11.99-15.99, I think the pricing was reasonable. In fact, MORE than reasonable for a downtown Japanese restaurant (not fast food).
Tumblr media
We got there shortly after 11:30, which was their opening time. We got seated at table #15, which was a spot at the corner of the conveyor belt track, & we were the 2nd table of diners at the time.
Tumblr media
My view.
I really liked that they have those plastic covers!
Tumblr media
Interior.
The track is quite long & traveled along majority of the restaurant. There are some window tables that are completely 'disconnected' from the track (if you wish to not participate in the AYCE).
Tumblr media
Tablet for non-belt items.
To clarify, the conveyor belt items were the 'chilled' items like sushi pieces, desserts, kimchi, wasabi & other condiments, as well as fruits. The tablet is for ordering hot items & drinks other than water. Some of these items include: miso soup, dimsum, fried things .. these are also part of the AYCE, but will be served to you.
Let's start eatinggggg~
Tumblr media
Avocado + tempura shrimp roll with salmon
Tumblr media
More rolls. .. with same 'interior' ingredients.
Tumblr media
Again. ..
Many of their rolls contained tempura shrimp & avocado as the main rolled ingredients. The 'topping' & sauce came in diff forms. I'm not sure if you would consider this as a good variety or not. The same rolls were seen often traveling along the conveyor belt. They also all come with a small pool of soy sauce & it was quite salty.
Despite a disappointment in this regard, I did think their ingredients were fresh & didn't taste pre-made.
Note: this was in chronological order of what we ate & we did spot some rare/special rolls later, towards the last quarter of our 2-hr meal. So maybe it has to do with the time? Like after 12:30 is when they make other rolls??? I don't know!
Now for some tablet-ordered items:
Tumblr media
Miso soup .. contained small clams o_O Not ell-versed in miso soup. Is this a regular thing? I didn't think so but I could be wrong. It was tasty though! Good to have after a round of rolls haha
Tumblr media
Fried things: salmon, salted shrimp, vegetable tempura & mini wontons. My fav was the zucchini from this assortment.
Tumblr media
Special roll #1: spicy salmon with mustard-based sauce.
Tumblr media
Special roll #2: mango + avocado with mayo sauce & crispy tempura bits.
Tumblr media
Deep fried beans & shrimp dumpling (these were from Costco bcos I have them at home myself lol)
The fried beans were actually my FAV item from this meal, followed by the miso soup.
Tumblr media
Coffee cake. I have had this before but can't remember where. I think it's some catering place bcos I know I didn't have this at a restaurant. It was at some big event or company potluck or something. This was really good!!
Lunch AYCE was $31.99, which was a very steep price considering the kinds of items that they had. There were no "expensive" things like beef or salmon or tuna sashimi. Will gladly say I tried it & visited Edmonton's only conveyor belt sushi restaurant; however, won't be revisiting until they change some things up.
