Pro tip: if you have to take Magnesium Citrate, get the lemon kind and mix it with apple juice! (Or anything actually)
You may throw up if you rawdog it, so be careful, mix it up, and go slow.

2 days until top surgery!
today i’m continuing with lots of prep.. yesterday i cleaned the bathroom, kitchen, vacuumed almost every room and the staircase, cleaned out my car, and prepped some meals.
today i’m making lists of shows/movies to watch n things to do, making lists of last minute questions to ask my surgeon, doing laundry, and organizing some of my materials for after surgery..
if anyone has any last minute advice or anything, i would greatly appreciate!

I spent $100 tonight.
I originally was only going to get some knee pads to encourage myself to do yoga more often. Then I remembered I needed more small candles for my altar. I also got a couple books, a few pairs of nice thick socks, and some more harem pants. I will buy plenty more cute things after my surgery/surgeries.
Items will fit differently after all that.
I need clothes that are appropriate for work and church too but I am going to try to get as much yoga stuff as I can manage. If I recall correctly, one if not both places I do therapy offer a yoga program. I will do certain poses at home, and certain poses in groups. I think getting more active this way will help me build strength- as will more walks.
I still have enough left to eat and go to the job fair in checking. I also need to look into what I need to order to mount my TV properly. I'll do it after I mop and finish building my dresser, I guess. Then I can call and add the streaming bundle to my account. It's only an extra $15 every month and might have some stuff worth seeing.
My account says $397 but really I only have $297 in there. I need to remember that until the purchases are processed.
I don't want to go too crazy with spending. I want to help pay for my friend's birthday. He did so much for mine. It makes sense to help pay for his meal, draw him something, and try to find a stuffed animal of his favorite Poke'mon.
I also want a holder for my cellphone as part of my setup for when I do readings for the collective on YouTube. I still haven't finished choosing what cards I want to use for that.
I should reserve some money for ubers.
I need it to get to Church of Light, Recovery Dharma, Alcoholics Anonymous, Queen of Heaven, the Hindu temple, etc. I also wanted to check out the international library despite having too much reading material on my plate as it is. It will take uber to get to any places where I'd do ceramics too.
I keep forgetting I want prayer malas for Kali Maa, Ganesha, and Saraswati. Not to mentions statues of Pan, Santa Muerte, etc.
I would also like to save for PUP GEAR, hahahah.
So, a pup hood, harnesses, and collars, basically!

Surgery prep for kidney donors
The day before:
Follow whatever diet your doctor ordered for this day; a clear liquid diet is common. Remember to get a source of calories and electrolytes, like juice or sports drinks.
Make sure you have someone to drive you to and from the hospital, and someone to act as a caregiver for the first couple days after you're discharged.
If you get a cold, flu, or any other illness, let the medical team know! A surgery can be rescheduled, but if you were to get the transplant recipient sick (or make yourself more ill), that could get bad.
Consider going to bed early if your surgery is scheduled for early morning.
Suggested things to bring to the hospital:
Person to drive you to and from hospital
Smartphone and charger
Light reading material (stuff you don't need to concentrate on)
Pen and notepad
Folder for holding paperwork
Photo ID
Pajamas or a nice robe; the latter is nice for not having to bend over
Toothbrush, toothpaste, floss
Chapstick or moisturizer, if needed
A card listing any dietary restrictions or allergies you have
Any meds that you need to regularly take
Earplugs and/or sleeping mask
Fidget toys
Bag to hold your stuff
A full bladder - you may have to give a urine sample before the operation. Consider drinking extra water the night before.
Do NOT bring:
Anything expensive or hard to replace (e.g. a wedding ring)
Work material
Expect to spend most of your time either in the waiting room before surgery, or half-asleep in the hospital bed afterward. If you're anxious leading up to the surgery, ask the nurses if they can give you something to calm your nerves. After the surgery, you'll probably feel too tired to be nervous.
Think about what would help you feel comfortable and get your needs met. If words are hard for you, you might bring cards with useful sentences like "I'm in pain," or "I need water" on them. If you're autistic, objects for stimming or to block out bad sensations may be useful.
Expect a little bit of embarrassment. A nurse or tech may have to help you get dressed, go to the bathroom, or move you. You might vomit or wet your bedsheets at some point. You may be crankier than usual, or a little loopy while coming out of anesthesia. All of this is normal in a hospital, and the staff won't judge you for it.
Don't hesitate to use the "call" button if you need something! The staff would much rather you told them than for you to sit there feeling bad.

This is an announcement post for the rest of the week, but I have a surgical procedure tomorrow (it’s nothing major, I am and will be okay, just something I have the chance to get done), but because of that I probably won’t be writing requests Thursday/Friday. I still plan to get out quote posts, and I should be able to answer any general asks/questions you guys send in, I’m just not gonna be pulling out my laptop and writing stuff. Next week should be totally back to normal though :)
Thank you as always for all of your love and support, I love you guys ♥️

I'm not complaining about not having cancer by any means, but I once read in a science mag that ninty percent of the world's population will have cancerous cells in them at any given time, it's just a matter of if the cells stay and multiply and also the fact that ninty percent of the world's population isn't being constantly monitored all the time so those cells will go undetected if they don't linger, assuming they don't persist and you begin noticing something is wrong.
Anyway given all the medical testing and observations and appointments for this and that and the fact I'm constantly in the E.R and frequently admitted to the hospital, it's a bit of a statistical anomaly that I've only had 3 cancer scares in my life

'anything can be a trigger' is such a true statement but it doesn't change how silly you can feel @ yourself from some of them. yea the sound of just people talking in the other room, or a song having a part that sounds too close to people talking, can send me into a full panic when I'm in a bad headspace. yea yea I know
