This looks absolutely heinous but whatever. Some Linked Nexus alien species! I’ll put a description/ramble with the words transcribed under the cut. Wind and Twilight (far right two) are half-human in what passes for my canon so they don't look perfectly like this but I wanted to do dramatic versions.

Far left boy is labeled "human, Reverb (EoW)." He's average height, moderately stocky, has round ears. He covers his neck with a blue scarf. Humans are highly attracted to their environment, so he wears a climbing harness. He wears a green poncho and tan pants with hardy sleeves beneath, since he lives on a forest world (look idk where or if he's gonna show up in LN but I needed a human and had him.)

Next is labeled "Hylian, Warriors—90%." That extra 4% Gerudo made him taller than the average Hylian, who are generally shorter than humans. Hylians have bigger, slant-ier eyes, and, not labeled, often have actually metallic hair. Pure Hylians like Warriors are rare though.

Third from the left is labeled "Hylian (Sheikah), Legend". He looks a little different than usual, and is labeled with "Sheikah coloring is more uniform than others'—white hair, red eyes." He has some bands on one of his hair thingies that indicate his role and position inside the Collective. The Sheikah have very specific cultural hierarchy and clothing styles. Only about 5% of Sheikah doppelgangers—enough to make them valuable but not irreplaceable.

Next is "Kasitan, Hyrule." He's labeled as relatively short and rather slim. He has big, reflective eyes and green blushies. Kasitans are also long-limbed and long-fingered. It isn't labeled here but they also have some natural subdermal plating!

Next is "Zora (deep), not Wind." This Zora looks kinda like Zora from Twilight Princess, but with big shiny eyes for seeing in the dark, not much nose, and sharp teeth. They have claws and webbed fingers and big flipper feet. I put this one in clothes for reasons. They're tall. There are more fins hidden beneath the clothing, such as on the arms and legs.

Last is "Twili, not Twilight." He looks a little weird sorry. Twili are labeled as very tall, with long, bright hair. "Twili shadow forms influence their light forms; Twilight's wolf gives him fangs and claws." Also "I can't decide what color to make the skin...!" Twilight also has some cyan on his armor, labeled "special tech for a variety of purposes—like light-repelling." Twili have some interesting technology :)

yeah so people write wukong and macaque as touch starved and yeah they totally are but i dont think that most people write about/convey how deeply they are touch starved. from my very limited research (so dont take this as gospel (i plan on doing more)) monkeys are always touching up on each other in social groups. its a primary method for bonding. now i think wukong is less touch starved than macaque since he's on flowerfruit mountain surrounded by other monkeys. they probably all groom him and he grooms them they play they have their social dynamics but its always from a place where hes the ruler of them all in the social heirarchy so they all kind of have to do that. monkey society rules. so he suffers from a different kind of touch starvation where hes kind of been bombarded with it by his monkeys but its not 100% genuine yk? he'll always have their affection b/c hes their king but idk...maybe he wants someone he sees as an equal to be affectionate with.

now macaque has suffered from extreme isolation for hundreds of years probably and we know from Research™ (a la that one (cruel) study where scientists separated baby monkeys from their mothers to See What Would Happen) that this has probably fucked him up really bad. not as much as it would have if he were an infant monkey but that kind of isolation is detrimental. like no wonder hes snappy, distant, suspicious of others. he doesnt know how to act in these new social situations. and hes lacked one of the IMPERATIVE ways monkeys keep their sanity. just constant touching and grooming of each other and SOCIALIZING. this boy would CLING to ANYONE who offered him even the tiniest hint of affection. hed BEG for it its so fucked up. at first i thought that maybe it wouldnt be w/in his character, but doing outside research has made me realize it may be even more in character for macaque to be touchy than wukong. i can see macaque becoming really distraught if someone rejected his quite frankly, need for affection. it could be so interesting. someone who he comes to expect to always provide affection just. saying no once and how hed probably snap over it.

not even like. in a romantic sense either. monkeys just like touching each other. honestly something churning in my head rn is wukong and macaque reconciliating and then taking turns grooming each other out of respect + generally being cuddly completely platonically. its enthralling actually. not to mention completely in line w/how ive been imagining macaque and wukong. these boys do NOT kiss its all nuzzling and cuddling and maybe playful biting. ive also been reading up on (macaque specific but ive read it can also apply to other species of monkey) monkey behavior in general and like. ough. them just cooing and chittering at each other having conversations while grooming or laying around. lip smacking at each other affectionately. ouuuuagh. their own special little language nobody else understands. i read that macaques are especially cuddly w/one another after a fight. so like. macaque and/or wukong have some sort of end of the world fight deal and one of them comes over to the other to seek comfort. god its everything. we havent even factored in mk who regularly displays this comfort after battle behavior w/wukong.

i also think that exploring how their instinctual monkey behavior has mixed w/the behavior that they have learned mortals find acceptable. b/c. there's plenty of monkey behaviors that would make mortals eyes pop out of their heads if wukong or macaque were to do them around them LOL

I WILL BE HONEST all 5 listed on there were horror fiction and I WILL explain them but I promise I write other stuff, namely Comedy. It’s about a man in the late 1990’s so downtrodden he was bullied by his boss into missing his beloved brother’s funeral. He’s only just now going to fly down and visit family, since they need his help settling the estate, and he can’t stay more than a weekend. Harry, the man in question, quickly unravels as he becomes lost after a wrong turn during a rainstorm… and the only person he can reach on his limited cell phone service is the late-night jockey of a nearby radio station, who encourages him to vent his frustration, and convinces him to come on down to the old station and wait out the storm. It’s very close by. It’s the only building close by. And you wouldn’t want anything to happen to your rental car, Harry, so you’d better come park by the station where no tree branches will fall onto it. I’ll be waiting there to let you in, Harry.

Sister Skin is actually a planned novel rather than short story, following a woman living in post-cosmic-apocalypse America, now overrun with alien monsters and roving cultists. After overpowering her would-be Ritual Murderer and killing him in self-defense, she finds herself connecting to a strange entity that sends her nonsensical visions and grows nearer in every dream she has. A paramilitary settlement nearby may have someone who can help her, but after arriving she discovers they’re in way over their heads. This is not JUST cosmic horror and not JUST body horror BUT. also some kind of fucked up romance between a Promised Sacrifice and the one who Craves It, even after being robbed. this too is yuri

For Want of a Cigarette is not actually the title of the last one, but it’s all I could come up with. This one is a novella set in the 1970’s about a prisoner who is strangely immune to a disease that’s overtaking the jail he’s in. Even after the ill disappear, more fall victim– and the warden just seems happy about clearing the cells out. But this fella simply won’t die; he doesn’t particularly want to live either, though. He’s entirely neutral. All he really wants is a cigarette.
