Like again w/ Yayoi there’s Sohei AND Shindo’s treatment of her. Which. Oh boy. Don’t forget she had Daigo at NINETEEN.

As far as prison stuff goes yeaa there’s something to be said abt that. Honestly I’ve been more concern w/ the prospects of him having access to HRT in there + with y6 there’s added issues w/ alcohol withdrawal that you have to account for.

Anyway yeaa. I always HC him as bi(romantic) and imo it’s moreso like… he experimented quite a bit growing up but figured it out preeetty quickly I’d say.

Like….. i guess to me The hangups are probably more to do w/ desire and if that’s Okay or if he’s being Like Sohei . Or alternatively maybe growing up the thought that if he slept around Sohei would pay attention etc.

does daigo have a flavour of asexuality in your book

YESSS omg i think abt this so muchhhh. ok ok ok w/ Daigo i can very much see him as being like... ace + sex neutral/favorable? Its something he will partake in, possibly even enjoy, but it's not really a form of attraction he feels. HOWEVER I highly doubt he's actually... noticed that? Between the fact that he probably has limited knowledge on that type of stuff + the fact that he'll partake in it still + the fact that he very much still experiences romantic attraction means any weirdness is more of an afterthought to him.

also additional side thoughts under the cut (TW for discussions of harassment & SA):

Lately i've ALSO been pondering the relationship between him + his parents + the role sex plays in their characters (between Sohei being. Sohei. and Yayoi getting harassed by the one Nishikiyama patriarch guy etc. theres uh. Recurring Things. happening there. Hell even the DS substory features Daigo getting harassed so uhhhh. huh.) LIKE i wouldn't be surprised if like.. there's some weirdness w/ him w/ regards to sex & sexuality in general considering likeee. ESPECIALLY How Sohei Is. i don't have much else to add here aside from like vaguely speculating about what influence that would've had on him. would there be certain expectations or would he feel guilt about enjoying things etc etc. mystery. I WILL SAY THOUGH i do think in his emo days he did use it as a way to cope with The Everything when he wasn't getting wasted.

Ooo yea!! Those two are sooooo….. They’re soooo sucks. Daigo coming over to visit and fighting with Masato the WHOLE time. They started dating to piss off their parents but Arakawa’s too supportive and Yayoi’s too busy to care. They’re inventing brand new slurs to call each other. They break up every 5 seconds only to IMMEDIATELY get back together. I KNOW when Aoki popped up Daigo briefly broke out of widower mode to have a shitty rebound fling with him (several times) (in the motels that the 3jimas were staying in) (to hide from Aoki)
