personally i think the reason the borgias fandom died out so quickly is because most fans tended to exclusively fixate on our phenomenal two main leads (lucrezia x cesare). while their characters and relationship are already rich with complexity and layers, i genuinely believe that if fans cared more about the other family members and their bizarrely compelling relationships with each other, as well as non-borgia family badass characters like giulia farnese and caterina sforza, and expanded their interests to include other ships and crackshipping, the fandom would still be alive and active to this day.

I love how Stark stans claim that the whole Children of the Forest (a brown-skinned indigenous race) somehow didn’t count as settler colonialism and genocide because they weren’t human. Like ??? As if fantasy writers haven’t been using fantasy races in their racism allegories for decades. Besides, so what if they weren’t human ?Clearly, they were sentient beings with complex thought processes, complex underground structures and a way of life, had a religion and places of worship (the Old Gods and the weirwood trees), not to mention a language to communicate so they were civilised enough to engage in a war with the First Men, are able to speak and understand the Common Tongue, and wiping them out is still terrible regardless of their relation to humanity (or lack of thereof).

And Leaf herself debunk the idea that COTF are trees and squirrels, and GRRM calls her a “little woman”: “The First Men named us children,” the little woman said. “The giants called us woh dak nag gran, the squirrel people, because we were small and quick and fond of trees, but we are no squirrels, no children. The thing about this fandom is that they view the Starks as having a divine right to the North in a way that no other family has to their lands. So even though they'll insist that Dany has no right to the Iron Throne because her family was usurped, the Starks deserve to reclaim the North because it was "stolen" from them. If the COTF weren't physically there in the story I could slightly understand (not that I would agree) people ignoring that aspect of the Stark's history, but they are fully realized and present. Apparently, them being supernatural is enough for people to ignore the Starks being colonizers when, like you said, racism allegories exist. And I can guarantee that the reaction wouldn't be the same if it was the Targaryens who were responsible for eradicating them. Instead, we get people headcanoning the Starks as indigenous (of course only the ugly/feral ones) which is just even more offensive. This is why it's so annoying that discussions on racism have been turned into just another fandom argument, like who deserves the throne. People's opinions on it are influenced by what characters they like instead of being objective on the subject.

watched this ep for the first time ever and nobody warned me how horrifyingly sad and depressing it is. i am in fucking shambles. i had to pause the episode and go downstairs to cry on the couch while clutching my chest. i cried so hard that i felt like vomiting. I am so so sad and upset. dean was a boy. he was just a boy and i hate john winchester so much. he couldnt even wait 2hours so dean could go to the dance. he's the fucking devil. he ruins everything.

and dean just confirmed he was SAed as a kid and i cant take it. I am so upset. I am so sad real children go through these things and my heart aches and burns for them. I am still in tears and I know this is a fictional show but my God is this one of most gut wrenching things I've ever watched.

so, one aspect of catelyn which i think is underrated (certainly the biggest adaptation loss which nobody talks about) is her, let's say superstitiousness, or better yet, let's call it genre-savviness, being one of the few adult characters open to magic and the supernatural in this fantasy world. we first meet her in the godswood, home of gods which are not truly hers, yet she is still very aware of their power. when she and ned talk of the deserter he killed, he hopes he won't have to go with the nw to deal with mance rayder, but she has even more fear of that idea bc there are worse things beyond the wall than just wildlings. ned scoffs and says she's been listening to old nan too much, but she's right. we already know from the prologue that she's right! and here she is, understanding the genre of their world better than her husband, who was actually born and spent his earliest years in this northern land of deep magic, listening to old nan's stories. same with the direwolves, where she was uncomfortable with them at first, but later believed in them as guardians from the old gods even after robb had lost his own faith. and once again, we know she's right even if she doesn't know the evidence to back up her instincts, bc summer and shaggydog did not fail bran and rickon and robb was almost certainly a warg like his brothers. (perhaps making it more fitting that she's the one brought back as a fantasy vengeance monster, not ned and robb, the most unbelieving dead starks.) and in her 2nd agot chapter, everyone focuses on her ambition in wanting ned to agree to the hand job (pun intended) and sansa's betrothal, and while she does recognize the value of their daughter being a future queen more than ned does, that's only her stated argument bc she thinks it's rational enough for ned to listen to. (if ambitious matchmaking were as important to her as to her father she never would have made those frey betrothals fandom loves to blame her for.) in her own head there's a deeper urge driving her. she keeps thinking of the dead direwolf with antlers in its throat, an omen which filled her with dread from the first she heard of it, before robert's arrival, and thinking of it again is what makes her desperate to convince ned not to refuse robert. she had to make him see. and really, she's not wrong, as jon snow would say. the dead direwolf was an omen of ned and robert getting each other killed. it's just one of those misread portents, with no way of knowing the danger to ned was in his loyalty to robert, not conflict with him. BUT the next time she's dealing with baratheons, she knows exactly what she's talking about. it's catelyn, not brienne, who sees the shadow slaying renly, and explains that it was stannis who did that through some dark magic. with no way of knowing how it was achieved and no prior expectation that such a thing were ever possible, she realizes with no hestitation that stannis was guilty and that his red witch was capable of pulling this off somehow. really, the only instinct of the supernatural she's wholly wrong about is her insistence that varys gathered his knowledge through some dark enchantment. however, though that might offend varys, given his own personal experience with a sorcerer, i'd say it's a reasonable assumption without knowing the dude had children moving through walls everywhere like oversized rodents. and imo it just shows she had a healthy respect and awe for varys's power which most other characters lack.

oh, oh, and let's not forget that she also believed in the curse of harrenhal, from her own childhood and the stories old nan told her kids. "and every house that held Harrenhal since had come to misfortune. Strong it might be, but it was a dark place, and cursed. 'I would not have Robb fight a battle in the shadow of that keep,' Catelyn admitted." sure, that wasn't enough to save robb, but he did not die from the curse of harrenhal. that doom was meant for his enemies from tywin lannister to roose bolton.

• "Are you insane?" You asked in disbelief after hearing her plan. "You know the meaning of vampire hunter, right?" You asked thinking she might be misunderstanding the term.

"I know what a vampire hunter is and what they do. Someone is trying to kill my brother and by the clues we are sure that it is a vampire who is trying to kill him." She says with a calm tone her blood red eyes looking at you. Her vampiric beauty glowing.

"You want me your brother who is also a vampire to protect him from some other Vampire at that global meeting sort thing of you vampires?" You said trying to make sense of everything.

"Yes. I will give you any amount you want. And protecting the regional chief of the region you live will give you many advantages till you die". The female Vampire said giving you a tempting offer which you can't refuse.

"But there is one problem. I have a solution for it too. But I am afraid you won't like the solution I came up with." She said with a slight disappointment over her face.

"What is it?"

"Well in the meeting only the regional chiefs and their family are allowed to attend. We have to make you pretend as the family member to attend with us. If they found out you are a Vampire hunter even I and my brother won't be able to protect you from the king."

You a single vampire hunter present in a room with thousands of vampire and a single mistake you would be dead in less than a millisecond just thinking about this caused you goosebumps. But it was now or never. You wanted that money.

"Okay. What family member do I have to pretend to be?"

"Well.... His human fiancee." The vampire said with hesitation.

"WHAT?!!"

"Well you are a human and we are vampires no way we can be family biologically so it only leaves to one option his fiancee just a fake one. After the work is done you are free to do whatever you want. And by being his fiancee you can be near him all the time protecting without any suspicious of others." The Vampire tried to explain.

"Okay. But I will take more money to pretend to be that old as fossils vampire's fiancee" You said with a deep frown.

"Just say the amount and it's your." The Vampire female and you shaked hands closing the deal. While Yan Vampire doesn't have a single idea what type of chaos his sister is going to bring in his life through you.

Get ready for being stuck with the grumpy Vampire protecting him from others while pretending to be his fake human fiancee. I hope I myself don't kill him in hatred. Wish me luck! You thought to yourself.

Beatrice is a great OC and it's just nice (though extra tragic) to read a fic in which Edwin had loving parents. Read it for Family Feels and wholesome intergenerational friendship.

The boys are captured by an evil underground fighting ring. The fic is from Charles' PoV, so the prospect of having to fight Edwin was especially stomach-churning. Still, we get Edwin being a badass and a brilliant surprise cameo I don't want to spoil.
