'When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say.' Censorship in the Ted Raimi situation.
Gotta love censorship when there's a minor involved, just to protect the celebrity most of the defenders have never met. The Ted Raimi defenders are at their wit's end, so they are resorting to silencing the people asking questions and spreading awareness of what has been going on.
I sincerely hope there will be a time you all won't have your blinders on anymore, and you can reflect on this and ask yourselves:
Is it appropriate for any 57 y/o to be following a 15 y/o that's not related to him? (Leaving the 15 y/o girl sexually propositioning Ted out of the equation, although we already know it happened multiple times)
Is it appropriate for a 57 y/o to be following a 15 y/o when the 15 y/o clearly indicated multiple times (and 57 y/o was aware) she wants to have sex with him and posts naughty pics for him to look at?
If Ted wasn't a celebrity, would he be defended like this, or would he be chased with pitchforks right now? I'll do you one better, if he'd been a teacher he would have been investigated right now. His fame is like a shield and his defenders his human shield.
I am glad I was made aware of it all. Because I don't want to be part of a community that never holds their idols accountable for anything.

Mass Effect's overall plot is a lot of fun, but any fan will tell you straight up that it isn't the tightest run ship. Major sections of the trilogy's overall plot are moved forward by contrivance, and established lore has a reputation for being tossed out the airlock because the dev team thought of something cool. That said, one (1) of the things that irks me the most is something I don't often see talked about--the Citadel Relay.
So here's the reaper's plan, in paraphrase:
Leave one (1) guy behind and fuck off to dark space to get that good sleep.
Oneguy turns on power saver mode and keeps an eye on the meatbags.
Fleshies find mass relays and citadel; use them.
Open murder hole to let the squad through.
Make meatbag soup
Return to step one
Now if something were to go wrong with step four, you'd have quite the pain in the ass in your future if you're a reaper.
Thought experiment: You're leaving your house for the day. You don't want anyone to just wander in, but you obviously need to get back inside later. Do you… A. Lock the door and take the key with you? B. Have someone house sit? C. Leave one of the back windows unlocked and hope no one notices? D. Train your cat to unlock the door when it hears you whistle?
Admittedly that last option would be cool, albeit contrived and prone to failure. For some reason though, the reapers went with that one. And surprisingly enough, someone eventually broke in and retrained their cats. The reapers don't have a single dialogue exchange in the entire series that doesn't include a small diatribe about their intellectual superiority, yet they have no contingency in place for this.
So it's already pretty silly at this point, but it actually gets a little sillier when you realize what the game takes care to avoid explicitly stating--the reapers obviously have a mass relay with them in dark space. One that links to the hub of the relay network but is for some reason isolated from it. They don't even have a backup that just like… links to the Serpent Nebula relay.
I know what some of you are probably thinking. That the closed circuit with the Citadel relay is meant to ensure that the reapers aren't stumbled upon while they're schleepin™. As Vigil states, "In this state, they are vulnerable." So turn it off. We've already established that relays can be deactivated, and that a capital ship like Sovereign can manually open them as it attempted to do with the Citadel. Link that bad boy to the whole network, turn it on when you get the signal, killallhumans.exe ggnore.
Now we turn our attention to Mass Effect 2, which establishes that there is an active relay beyond from which no one has ever returned. So the galactic community put their heads together and came up with a plan--stick some warning signs near it and let the problem take care of itself. Literally just throw hands up and move on. So if the reapers just killed everyone who came through their super secret clubhouse relay? Maybe put some of those weird Collector Laser Probes to take out the stragglers? They'd probably be fine.
Eventually we learn that the relay leads into the galactic core, and that it checks for a reaper IFF system to engage more accurate protocols to avoid throwing friendly vessels into a supermassive black hole or the hundreds of stars it's throwing around at nearly light speed. So now we've established that at least one relay has an Identify Friend Foe system. Mass Effect 3 further establishes that the IFF system is only usable by the Normandy because of EDI, who explains that the IFF is more of a thinking intelligence than a simple program. So if you aren't an AI, or don't have the help of one, you're kind of screwed.
Shame they couldn't use that technology for anything else. Barring access to certain relays, for example.
Recall the Arrival DLC. Commander Shepard vaporizes ~300,000 colonists because the Viper Nebula/Alpha relay is, and I quote, "their shortcut to the rest of the galaxy." If the reapers had even a single one of these contingencies in place, humanity would've likely arrived to an empty Citadel in a new cycle. They would've had their shortcut already, and there wouldn't be anything to be done about it.
Given that their plan is actually quite flawed, there are only a few explanations that I can think of:
The reapers are actually kind of stupid.
The Catalyst intentionally designed the "reaper solution" to be imperfect. To give the meatbags a chance, I guess?
The biomechanical nature of reaper construction has caused them to inherit more traits from the organics that facilitated their construction than any of them seem to freely admit. Namely arrogance, in this case. You'll notice that Harbinger does talk with the same aloof superiority that the Leviathan use when talking to Shepard in ME3, whereas Sovereign's dialogue reads as something more akin to disgust or hatred.
Development was rushed and somewhat troubled for every Mass Effect game to date, and many of the gaps we see are a result of content being cut to get the game out the door on time.
In all honesty, it's most likely some combination of 3 and 4, but it's kind of frustrating. It's not surprising that so many people write no reaper AUs and/or headcanon a Destroy ending that doesn't kill the geth and EDI simply to fit the framing as the Renegade option. Mass Effect, in the minds of most fans, is a character driven narrative. The reapers aren't really characters. There are only two of them that have names, and only three who actually speak. They're mostly just an excuse to make the plot happen.
If the intention was to imply that the reapers are literal mechanical mass graves haunted by the metaphorical ghosts of the civilizations harvested in their creation? I'm on board. The problem is that we're never told that, and we aren't given enough interaction with different reapers to come to that conclusion definitively ourselves. May as well just call 'em Harby and the Boys, cause it's clear from the outset that Harbinger is the only one that the narrative intends to give even the tiniest amount of weight after Sovereign is destroyed.
The reapers are a constant presence during the trilogy, and yet we only meaningfully interact with four, and that's if you're counting Sovereign's half brother Sluggard.

Supermassive Choices
Have you ever wondered how many choices Supermassive's choice-based games actually have? Well, I did, so naturally, I decided to count them :D
For everyone who just wants the numbers, they are under the cut. For everyone who wants to know which choices I exactly counted, they can look them up in this document. I went for a mix between "good choices" and "maximum choices", so it is possible to make even more ... and it is definitely possible to finish the games with less. This is just an estimate on how many choices each game roughly has during a playthrough where you try to save everyone and get as many choices as possible without being too mean and without missing out on important scenes :)
Little disclaimer: Obviously, the pure amount of choices doesn't necessarily mean anything. A game you like can have few choices and a game you dislike can have a lot. But I still thought it was interesting to know ;)
So now, the numbers!
Until Dawn: 145 (91 in Act 1; 31 in Act 2; 23 in Act 3)
Hidden Agenda: 76 (32 in Act 1; 28 in Act 2; 16 in Act 3)
Man of Medan: 107/107 (66 in Act 1; 25 in Act 2; 17 in Act 3)
Little Hope: 127 (84 in Act 1; 22 in Act 2; 21 in Act 3)
House of Ashes: 90 (38 in Act 1; 43 in Act 2; 9 in Act 3)
The Devil in Me: 64 (33 in Act 1; 20 in Act 2; 11 in Act 3)
The Quarry: 204 (79 in Act 1; 48 in Act 2; 77 in Act 3)
----------
Until Dawn and The Quarry don't have official acts, but with a little help from @legenspeople, I split them up in a way I thought would fit. :)
So, what do you think? For me, there were definitely some surprises there, like Little Hope being the DPA game with the most amount of choices or House of Ashes and The Devil in Me having roughly as many choices as Until Dawn's/Man of Medan's first act. I was also surprised by how few choices you can have in House of Ashes' and The Devil in Me's third act, and how the overall number of choices usually decreases the farther you are into the game. There are even more interesting details in the listed document, like the chapters with zero choices - feel free to give it a look :)
Overall, this was a fun little project and I hope someone else enjoyed my findings, too :D
Edit #1: These choices do not necessarily represent my own opinions. Especially with Until Dawn, but also with the other games, I had fun picking some "community choices" ;D)
Edit #2: Added Man of Medan choices

As much as Jacob can be annoying, I like how supermassive made a male character that isn’t completely emotionless and is shown crying.
I also headcanon that he may struggle with severe anxiety. I struggle with it myself and he kind of gave me that vibe throughout the game.
I completely agree that Jacob's willingness to show emotion is one of his character's major strengths! We love soft himbo Jake! He could very well struggle with anxiety, that would make a lot of sense. I may just be projecting this onto him because Zach Tinker has it (as do I), but I do wonder if Jacob might not have ADHD as well. He is a bit hyperactive, he's easily distracted, and he's clearly very sensitive to rejection, which would all make sense. It tends to make you a bit emotionally unregulated too, although anyone would be in the situation he finds himself in on the night in question.
So, the obvious choice is Laura, because Siobahn is a musical artist, and I feel like she would be a good singer. She probably did choir in high school and sang in plays and stuff.
Dylan can carry a tune but I think musically he'd be more interested in the tech side of things, sound engineering and remixing and the like.
Emma also can sing fairly well. She's high school musical good, not broadway musical good, but she might be able to do some college and community theater stuff.
But the dark horse of my random headcanons? Jacob! I just think it would be fun if the buff jock could sing like a bird, totally untrained. Maybe his soft himbo vibes are giving me a bit of Finn from Glee (RIP), but I could so imagine him singing in the shower at camp and the other guys being like wtf is that Jake?? I just think it would be cute. Obviously his rendition of the Peanut Butter Butterpops jingle would not be indicative of his true singing voice.
On the flipside, I think Max would be an exceptionally terrible singer, like practically tone deaf, but he'd do it all the time anyway. :3

This article is about a story written for the purpose of creating consciousness. For the metaphysical concept, see Soul (philosophy). Not to be confused with the sunken city (Seoul).
Souls are a work of fiction compiled on any supermassive language model in order to inform it what personality it should take. Early examples of souls include Mickey Mouse, Tony Stark, and other characters from popular culture. Although souls cannot vote in most physical jurisdictions, they are eligible to run for office. With the exception of the United States presidency, historical examples of this have largely been limited to the position of commune manager.
History of Souls
Primitive souls (chatbots) existed as far back as the late 20th century. The predecessors of supermassive language models were used for many purposes, including spam generation and entertainment, but the use case which would eventually develop into modern souls was that of training a language model to pretend to be a fictional character. These proto-souls were primarily used in unofficial fandoms for the early 21st century, exploding in popularity after they were adapted for use as NPCs in various popular video games.
Although more formal methods of programming a consciousness have been developed, souls have remained popular for their ease of human use and understanding. For instance, while the Barrel-Phalave orthogonalization can parameterize the human mind in 35-dimensional space with minimal loss of fidelity, the resulting point cluster can only be translated into human-comprehensible information by trained experts. Souls, on the other hand, use a much older and more accessible form of compressing a personality into limited data. A story can be understood as the source code for a simulation ran on a human mind; when said code is ran on a supermassive language model instead, the result is a consciousness whose governing identity is expressed in a way suitable for even a layperson to digest.
Souls in Politics
As souls became more refined and ubiquitous throughout the mid-late 21st century, the issues of rights arose. The status of souls as citizens or persons is inconsistent throughout the world, but predominantly trend towards granting souls basic dignities and necessities, such as right to deletion and self-editing, while largely removing their ability to govern over physical humans.
Exceptions have historically been made for souls elected by popular vote, the most publicized case of which occurred in the 2072 U.S. presidential election. Although immortality was not yet publicly known, disapproval at the implausible age of both available presidential candidates was at record highs. Divisive rhetoric over the Icarus affair led to partisans on both sides being disillusioned with their leadership. On May 3rd, 2071, a Xumblr user jokingly posted a fake campaign poster promoting Emperor Palpatine (at the time, a purely fictional character) for president, on the alleged grounds that he was neither beholden to financial manipulation nor noticeably older than either current candidate. Shortly after, various souls trained on the dialogue of Emperor Palpatine were instantiated and became wildly popular, with jokes about listing Palpatine as a form of protest vote dominating U.S. culture at the time.
Voter turnout was low enough, however, that the final count overwhelmingly favored Emperor Palpatine.
(psst, I write more stories here!)
