Alright, let's get pretentious.
I've come to start resenting those super popular Mario 64 hacks as of late, like B3313, the multiplayer mod, Mario 64 with Shotgun.
People came out of the woodworks making videos and articles about them, and I kinda hate how those are now "the mainstream", relatively speaking.
And it also sucks because they're all great hacks! But the fact that that if you asked most (relevant) people to think of what a Mario 64 hack is, it's either just the base vanilla game "with a wacky YouTube Content-y™ Twist" and/or within the ballpark of just creepypasta (/derogatory)/beta content.
Aside from Star Road back in 2011, which while groundbreaking had some pretty mixed design, the general online populous who even still cares about Mario 64 have no idea about the game's entire massive & passionate modding scene, full of incredible and original standalone experiences, both in gameplay and narrative, for free.
Elise, a beautiful Yume Nikki-like with cutscenes and voice acting, borrowing the base game's sense of exploration as a jumping off point.
SM64 Kingdom's End, a genuinely haunting story about Mario struggling until the last moment to save a dying world.
Mario Party 64, our childhood dream of wishing we could play in the boards & minigames of Mario Party like an actual platformer brought to life.
Detective Mario: Murder on Ice, mapping the genre of text-based murder mystery (complete with typing in commands) into a 3D Mario level with surprising twists and required deduction skills.
Mario breaks EVERY BONE IN HIS BODY (case sensitive), a hilarious Monkey Ball-like
Ceaseless Climb, exploring a tricky, warped reality beyond the game's infamous Infinite Staircase
My Dress-Up Darling 64 which, and I quote from the game's Romhacking.com page's description, "being the first hack to use HVQM full-motion video"
There's rhythm games, Zelda-likes, horror games, shitposts, puzzlers, slide hacks, what-ifs, massive collabs, the absurdly sized Star Revenge *series*, huge hacking competitions with cash prizes and often dozens/hundreds of submissions meant to incentivize newcomers to try, Mario slips on a banana peel and fucking dies 64, and literally hundreds more I could name
I'm just really passionate about this little niche internet community, and I'm sad it only got the thinnest spotlight once a tiny piece of it ended up being profitable for content creators. There's so much more than what most people see.
Besides. It's free video games; Surely that alone makes it worth checking out, right...? Everything is suuuper accessible/user-friendly nowadays~

Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Adventure: Playable Character Voting Poll

In this Game Idea, there will be 16 Characters in this action adventure game, bringing gameplay styles from there own games as they team up in this adventure! These include four Sonic Characters, Sonic, Shadow, Silver and Trip.
However, since Voting Polls have Twelve Options and since these four would no doubt get the most votes... I'm excluding them. I will explain their gameplay, but the focus will be on the other SEGA All-Stars... so without further ado!
==============================

Gameplay Style Explations [Plus Gameplay Video Links to copy and paste]:
Sonic: The Boost Gameplay from Sonic Unleashed's Daytime Stages that feature a mix of 3D and 2.5D Sections. [https://youtu.be/j4OBe-rONR4?si=OyPsTyeEfSiojz7N]
Shadow: The Gameplay from Shadow Generations. Sonic's gameplay with a unique Shadow twist. [https://youtu.be/tRFy7LFTggg?si=pUpykT9e30DMJFyo]
Silver: Improved gameplay from Sonic 06, 3D Platforming with psychic powers physics and combat. Here's a video link to his gameplay from Project 06, an updated fan mod of Sonic 06, to showcase this.[https://youtu.be/q-VtHlKPPpk?si=oZMnQWrB_YMasXpM]
Trip: Her gameplay from Sonic Superstars. Classic 2.5D Sonic gameplay with Trip's unique abilities. [https://youtu.be/6ezXj-i7UBA?si=yqhR_BBmMW9uudWK]
NIGHTS: A 3D recreation of his/her 2D flying gameplay from the NiGHTS Series. Full range movement through the skies. [https://youtu.be/XQenErtZ5nI?si=YvLNyYsz6L-NkIDN]
AiAi: A full length stage version of Super Monkey Ball gameplay, using Super Monkey Ball: Adventure as a basis. Use momentum based speed and movement to go through longer stages to reach the end. [https://youtu.be/MRMcgyB-bQE?si=YIPfiz4TWxCF_7aB]
Beat: The stage based gameplay from the original Jet Set Radio. Skate around 3D environments as you paint graffiti and leave your mark as you avoid the Police. [https://youtu.be/ndHln4ag0tE?si=vlEpAKaJsc2xDQH5]
Arle: A 3D Dungeon Crawler similar to Socery Saga: Fia and the Mysterious School. Run through dungeons solving puzzles and casting magic against the monsters. [https://youtu.be/Gvy-3ABeycs?si=ae5cCyAFU0av6tUz]
Alex: Gameplay from Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX. 2.5D Side Scrolling Platformer recreation. Made slighty easier as Alex now has Three Hit points instead of dying in one hit. [https://youtu.be/SJFtT-1oSPI?si=YWGwUTETWNJ0PI3o]
Vectorman: Gameplay from the classic Vectorman Games. 2.5D Action Platformer recreation as you shoot enemies and gain special Transformers Power Ups. [https://youtu.be/jiAzK6ITEvA?si=gSGzTZYXwkk3tIKA]
Ristar: Gameplay from Ristar. 2.5D Platformer recreation as you utilize Ristar's stretching arms to fight enemies and platform through the stages, split across two segments each. [https://youtu.be/qVQgdYjnDu4?si=uA3wBDfzAq_N8uL8]
Tillis: A 3D Action Platformer and Third Person Shooter. Fight off fires and and rogue robots as you rescue innocent people from burning buildings. [https://youtu.be/zh2Ujhqzuec?si=oRwHlQWby7gj4F7q]
Phantom R: Rhythm Style mini-games with three phases to each one like in Rhythm Thief. Each Rhythm Game functions differently. [https://youtu.be/7wa9nw4lQdg?si=1JNm8gX0Fkfv62cl]
Red: While Angry Birds is more of a puzzle game, I decided to make Red more of a traditional 3D platformer character, but with some inspiration from Angry Birds Actions. [https://youtu.be/cdHKavOmhoo?si=IElwruudzwLO0ZjL]
Gemini: Gemini's gameplay will be Hack and Slash action like in Sakura Wars V: Episode 0. Genini rides on horseback the whole time while defeating enemies and completing objectives. [https://youtu.be/ERz1TG2F0Bs?si=vJ1HeNSu9CF1F5y4]
Aigis: Revamped and improved gameplay of Aigis: The First Mission. Run and jump around a 3D while fighting enemies. Use firearms and grenades for long range combat, drills for close range melee attacks and unleash the powers of Aigis' Persona, Athena. [https://youtu.be/F0LpEwEivfs?si=uwxJnL83Tx487n7a]
Each character has 6 stages [8 for Sonic and Shadow] (100 Stages in totel) and 3 boss battles [4 for Sonic and Shadow] (50 Bosses in totel).
Note: SEGA now owns Atlus Games and Rovio Entertainment, hence why Red and Aigis are included here.

Digimon: Rumble Arena - Final Thoughts
[Guilmon voice] Digimon RUMBLE ARENA! This was really fun and nostalgic. Probably the most scuffed game I've played so far, but in a charming way. It's a Playstation 1 Super Smash Bros. knock-off. I've never really understood how Smash Bros. works, so I'm glad I played this and learned a bit about the mechanics. I didn't unlock all the characters because I don't really have a reason to (ain't got nobody to play with), but I did beat the game 5 times, so not too shabby.
Notes:
Omg this game is hilarious from an audio/graphics standpoint. There's an awkward mesh of 2D and 3D, the tamers' dialogue is as crunchy as possible, and the digimons' models have that PSX charm
(She looks so blobby hahahahaha 😂)
I'm more of a sub than dub person with digimon, so it was very fun/funny hearing all of the digimon and tamer voice lines. Everyone sounds so silly. They shout their attack names and then say a little victory phrase every time they win.
It felt like the smaller the digimon was the easier they were to play with. It also helped to have really good projectile and aerial attacks. Terriermon was the first mon I played as and probably my fave. I liked listening to their attack lines too.
The big bad this time is Reapermon which feels pretty random since most other games cycle through the same bosses. Apparently he's voiced by Steve Blum, so that's fun. His design gives me Egyptian vibes.
Culumon saying "Which digimon are you gonna play with huh? Which one?" Every time you open up the character select screen was both grating and cute.
The game has 3 mini games that I made sure to unlock, but they're kinda...bad. Two of them are basically the same idea (launching a ball at a target) and then the 3rd is just button mashing. This is no Super Monkey Ball. I think my fave mini game was the target one with the diamonds and stars you had to hit.
I did play this game on easy mode because I'm not a fighting game person. Even on easy mode it was challenging at times! It seemed to really depend on the digimon I chose, some of them were just OP. I think I struggled the most with Gatomon who just felt clumsy to me (plus Magnadramon kinda sucked).
I think the controls for this game were pretty satisfying. I especially liked how you used the same button for digivolving and using and ultimate attack, that felt pretty badass.
I enjoyed the variety in stages and the unique challenges they presented. It was especially fun launching your opponent into lava in the fire stage lol. It might be cool to get more canon-relevant environments in future games.
Overall, I'm glad I gave this one a chance and tried different digimon out. This seems like it would have been a good sleepover game in the 2000s. Would have loved to have played it when I was young and had tons of free time -sigh-
I give Digimon Rumble Arena a 6 out of 10

Want to help me out with a future SMB Custom Character project? FEEDBACK NEEDED!
When Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble modding becomes feasible, I plan on bringing over several in-universe SMB characters from previous games as fully playable characters!
Yoko (Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz)
Jam (Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll)
Jet (Super Monkey Ball 3D)
With this project, I intend to fully adapt these characters to Banana Rumble's art style from the ground-up. No asset reuse whatsoever. This means brand new custom models, animations, voicework, the works! I've got some concept redesigns down for the three characters, and am working on honing in on a final design to move forward with! For that, I need your help!
This feedback form has all the concept designs laid out! If you have the time, please consider going through and letting me know which designs you're feeling! This will help me in deciding which direction to move forward with! Thanks!

Sega’s back to raid your email with news once again for free cosmetic DLC. If you’re a fan of how Sonic was presented in the Sega Saturn days, you’ll wanna sign up for the Sonic X Shadow Generations email newsletter for this free Sonic Jam Legacy Skin for our favorite boy in blue. As the name suggests, this is directly based on how Sonic appeared in the 3D Sonic World hub from Sonic Jam (1997), only in much sharper detail than a Saturn could present. Sign up by November 1st and you’ll receive the above skin to use when playing as Sonic absolutely free. So check your email storage capacity, change your password if you haven’t for a long time, and come on in past the break for the link to sign up.
Head over to this link to sign up as well as select the console you plan on buying Sonic X Shadow Generations for to make sure you get the correct code for your console of choice. Once you do, you’ll receive your download code as we get closer to the release date of Sonic X Shadow Generations on October 25th, 2024. Be sure to also check out the official website for news that’s already been revealed thus far.
The last time Sega gave away free gifts to email subscribers was when they gave out a special Shinobi costume for Aiai for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble. You can still sign up for that one right now just for the free download code if you haven’t already.
Are you excited for Sonic X Shadow Generations? Do you like the look of this Sonic Jam Legacy skin? We wanna hear about it in the comments below.

Ok I think the chances of getting a certain "costume" are completely random now
In super monkey ball bounce I thought the one that goes with the next monkey that you'll unlock will appear at the slot machine (ex: p-yanyan appearing more often right before I unlock yanyan) however I don't think it's even that complicated, I've been seeing others like c-aiai and f-gongon
#kris talks#super monkey ball#put costumes in parentheses because i cant see them as just coatumes#theyre separate characters thats what 3D implied since they have their own bios

hello hello I have some arrolin hcs to share because I am normal about them (none of these are based off of cannon and i have little knowledge of game lore so i am sorry if they feel inaccurate):
-knows how to play the sheng and is damn good at it. i'd imagine that it is very relaxing for them
-is the absolute king of dad jokes and silly puns
-favorite game is proun+ for the nintendo 3ds, second favorite game is super monkey ball jr for the gameboy advance
-talks like charlie slimecicle (referring to speech patterns and mannerisms)
-allergic to pineapple and brazil nuts

Big list of random things regarding random parts of the d sides universe (and a few other ones regarding development too)
1-what was your favorite d side lore to make
2-is d-vivian and her sisters still “shadow sirens”, or are they called something else now
3-what were your top 3 d-side mario powerups to design
4-whats a random fact about a random character from the d-side sonic cast (perferably one about some random character)
5-does d-hex use a bunch of out of date lingo since he is basically the embodiments of 90s cool dude
6-is god z only able to traverse through the worlds he created? And if not, how would he feel if he was somehow transported to a modern or 3d sega game like monkey ball or nights
7-follow up question, are ristar, segasonic, alex kidd, and vectorman the only worlds god z made, or are there others that have yet to be revealed
8-does d-muscle man still make “my mom” jokes
9-is d-silvers story still the same (basically is he still giovannis son who believes only having the strongest will help him win)
10-not a question but if you do tackle this list of questions ty, and i also hope you and your team have such an amazing day, gl with this huge task that is d sides
woah thats a lot!!!!
while i didn't make a lot of it, finalizing the sonic story was probably one of my favorite ones. EVERYONE chipped in for it, and its really cool to have one long series of paragraphs that we all helped write together. especially because it FUCKING ROCKS!!!! aside from sonic, though, all of them were fun to write in their own ways, but getting something final down for fnaf was really good, too.
i dunno, we haven't really discussed the pm characters that much outside of designs lol?? maybe they do, i can't think of anything else for them to be called.
well i didn't design most of them, that would be jimmy. i did design a few and concept most of them though. the super feather is probably my favorite out of all of them.
d sides bark doesnt like trees because when he introduces himself people always go "oh, like the tree?" and it makes him mad
i dunno, i could totally see him being just a stereotypical 90s teenager but i also think it'd be funny if he just used surfer language like "brah"
zeus exists in a sega genesis, he can't move onto a saturn or a dreamcast, he's permanently stuck inside the genesis world and the worlds he's created. that's part of what makes him so sad, not only can he never look like his normal self ever again, but he can't even go home. i don't really know how he'd react if he got put into a later console and was able to experience games like NiGHTS or monkey ball, but i can only imagine it'd be a shortlived feeling of joy, because he finally has new things to experience, but that will only last for so long. as it stands, zeus has done everything his worlds have to offer. nothing gives him that high of reigning supreme anymore.
zeus has worlds for every game ever released for the genesis, but only a few more will appear in d sides. in his canon lore, none are really relevant outside of sonic and maybe ristar. like, the worlds for all those genesis games do exist, but don't expect mortal kombat 3 to come into play at all.
no he makes "my aunt" jokes instead which just confuses people even more because he can't be potentially messing up a "your mom" joke because "your aunt" isn't a joke anyone ever makes
it probably changes a bit but i'll worry about that when i start seriously cracking down on the story parts of d-sides pokemon. the designs are the first thing i'm wanting to work on, but i do want certain story beats to be changed. i'm just not sure how yet.
ty for the kind words, i love big question asks like this!!!!

Welcome to my first Tumblr post!
I'm ItsWashington17 or Washington for short, who has come from the hell site that is Twitter.com. Since a certain stupid billionaire is ruining that site, I'm now looking at options for other social media sites to take refuge in case I shut down my Twitter account and Tumblr is one of them.
If you do know me from Twitter, then hi. If you don't know me, I'm a fan of the likes of Crash Bandicoot, Sonic The Hedgehog, Super Monkey Ball, as well as tons more. I'm a creator in Dreams, where I have made a bunch of content using the said franchises I'm a fan of. From 3D renders to a 15 level Crash Bandicoot fangame called Wumping Adventures, which I'm currently working on a huge update for. Additionally, I'm also make levels in the Crash Bandicoot fangame, Back In Time and I use to make some in Hot Wheels Unleashed and the LittleBigPlanet games.

I will be posting renders and some content that I do on this site and might even post some discussions related to gaming in general. I'm hoping that this site will welcome me with friendly arms, as I eventually escape from Twitter and its dumb owner.
Looking forward to sharing more with you!
ItsWashington17
