The reason Danny– and in turn, Phantom - nearly dropped kicked Wes into the sun was, because the ginger believes that Bruce Wayne is batman.

Batman.

And with that, the entire family of Mr Wayne being the batcrew.

Them.

Which was ridiculous, Danny watched this week's episode of "keeping up with the waynes", he's seen Mr Wayne in a bathrobe, trying to drink his omelette and his children being absolute chaos gremlins.

These people could NOT be the batman and Co. Of Gotham.

Set in @inexplicifics' Accidental Warlord AU,

Someone starts a rumor that Eskel gives the best hugs of all the witchers. (Everyone knows he gives good hugs, that's not in question, but the best?)

The Cats - chaotic, competitive, and cuddly brats that they are - immediately decide to challenge this. The Cranes - just as chaotic, but in a "can we science or explode this" way - jump in with ideas on how to test it.

Of course it spirals.

By the end of the week, the Cranes have organized a competition - complete with rules - to determine which witcher gives the best hugs. There's an entire scoring rubric. And criteria for who can judge. And who can enter, and how.

Several of the more sensible residents of the keep just back away slowly.

Jaskier, of course, cheers the mischief on whole-heartedly...and then nominates Geralt and Eskel (as a team) and Aubry (by himself).

(The Cranes quickly reshuffle things to add a team bracket. Cedric and Axel start looking for someone to nominate THEM.)

Somehow, the children of the keep - at least the ones unrelated by adoption or step-parenthood to competing witchers - end up as judges.

The Cats are sure they have this in the bag. They're funny! They're friendly! They like cuddling! They even PURR! Clearly there's no competition. Eskel's done for.

Darrell's first day as a ship's cat and bosun's mate on the tall ship Lady Washington!

Here he is inspecting the quality of coils, making sure passengers were heeding the "no smoking" rule, and standing bow watch through the anchor hawse.

He looked very dapper in his PFD and sunglasses! (I highly recommend looking into Surfer Cat for harnesses and PFDs made to fit cat bodies specifically. their gear is well designed, and they are a small company with excellent customer service!)

I like the idea of big cat dehya picking up mouse reader in her mouth like a kitten

Lion! Dehya would be so gentle with you, picking you up with her razor sharp teeth but being careful not to hurt you while doing so. You’re trembling so much in fear, but Dehya just holds you like a mama cat would do to her kittens and places you down on her bed so she could cuddle.

Of course, when she was about to pick you up with her mouth however, you couldn’t help but scream because WHY WAS THIS LION OPENING HER MOUTH AND MOVING TOWARDS YOU? You genuinely thought it was the end, but no; Dehya just scooped you up with her teeth so she could transport you better (ignoring the fact she had arms she just likes carrying you this way)

working in human healthcare and also having a pet is so funny bc i will take my little guy to the vet and just. forget. that they don't have HIPAA for cats. I'm at the desk being like hi I'm here for my little guy and they don't even ask me to confirm his birthday. they don't have those "please stand 6 ft back for privacy" signs. the vet can come into the room and just discuss other animals currently being treated. because he is a cat.

To address the obvious theme here: friendship. Yes, they’re also all adorable and Sakura deserves cute things, but primarily they’re a good representation of his canon-typical character growth — as in, you’re going to see these babies evolve at crucial moments during Sakura’s journey, and almost exclusively to show he’s opened his heart to another traveling companion.

And then there’s Absol, my personal favorite misunderstood Pokemon. A so-called harbinger of disaster who’s actually vital to preventing loss of life and resources. It’s my favorite pick for Sakura because it’s just so damn fitting for who he is and how his friends come to see him.

I’m leaving the last spot open for now but I’m leaning towards having him run into Type: Null at some point (don’t ask me how, this is all vibes and no plot at this point). It’s another friendship evolution so it’s especially good for this line-up, plus I appreciate that its in-game relevance lines up with Sakura’s canon themes again.

It's official, we're apparently getting the internet back to semi normal levels tomorrow. One of the trainees took pity on us and approached one of the neighbours. They couldn't tell them anything else for obvious reasons, but at least we all know the end is nigh 😅
