Shin-Maruko is a station not too far away from where we live - so sometimes we go there on foot whenever we are around Musashi-Kosugi area. 

Gabouten is a small restaurant specialized in suigyoza - boiled dumplings. The shop owner was very nice and her dishes were delicious - I'm definitely going there again someday!

So the trains were super packed on my way back from business and I decided to stop by in Utsunomiya for dinner. I ended up at a chain restaurant called Utsunomiya Gyozakan. With it’s bright signs and open restaurant at 4 o clock I decided I needed gyoza. I entered in and it was nice but empty. I got their set menu for Gyoza it  was only 1000 yen. ~Wakana watches “MEG - The Monster” Edition~

In this corner we went to the cinema to watch a shark movie, a movie about Wakana's most beloved ancient shark, the “megalodon”. “MEG - The Monster” is showing right now so we just had to go and see it.

[1] The poster is really quite intense...I have a feeling this is gonna be scary.... [2] They made a movie about her most beloved shark “megalodon” so there was really no choice but to go! [3] So excited! [4] There's a beautiful tunnel inside of Toho Cinemas Roppongi! [5] My first time in MX4D! [6] I am watching the movie in MX4D! Really looking forward to it!

[10] Having been trained in the school art club Wakana's brush is very skillful! [11] I brought drawing materials and a sketchbook! [12] A drawing challenge in order to convey the atmosphere of the movie!

[13] How was this edition of “Come along and watch «MEG - The Monster» with me”? Well, to begin with, this was my first time watching a movie in MX4D! I really wanted to see this movie in MX4D that's why I was so persistent when I asked about it. And I was totally right! This movie just has to be seen in MX4D! It was so much fun! There were also effects like wind and water!

It was incredibly powerful! The seats are moving a lot more than I expected! I think first timers might worry a bit but rest assured, even though I am really scared of roller coasters, I was totally fine with this. At first I was a bit surprised but it ended up being a lot of fun.

It was an enjoyable watch! It was! Compared to a normal cinema you can really laugh out loud. When you are surprised i's okay to make noise. Also, it really amazed me to have that many people watch a movie about “megalodon” with me, that made me very happy.

I guess it felt like, “thank you for coming along to see megalodon!” *laughs* «The megalodon... it is an ancient shark that became extinct around 20 million years ago, it reached a length of 25~27 meters.» There were many informative remarks like this in the movie, while I was watching I kept thinking, “oh, I know this, yes, yes, that's right”

I think aside from you there might not have been anyone else in that cinema who felt that way *laughs* Yeah, well, I have always loved megalodon this much. I would often get asked, “what's your favourite shark?”, and my answer would always be “megalodon”. It's because it is an ancient shark that lived during the same age as the dinosaurs. That's what I always tell people. I was just really happy.

Almost like, “finally the world knows about this”? Yes, it made me happy that everyone learned all these things about “megalodon”. I am really grateful that this movie was able to convey that “megalodon” is a truly amazing creature with a size that is beyond human imagination. Yes, finally the world knows about it.

So I guess it was “megalodon” perfection? *laughs* I think it's so fascinating because it's nothing more than a movie. If a huge megalodon actually existed and was roaming about in the sea you would be scared as hell wouldn't you? This is all fiction! On a side note, I was really excited to hear the English pronunciation of “megalodon”!

I think everyone who will read this will get a good idea of your feelings towards “megalodon”. I can't tell you any details about the content since I don't want to spoil the movie...but everyone whose interest got sparked, please be sure to watch it!

[14] Wakana's Gyoza Eating Journey Vol. 2 (Bonus)

A small gyoza eating corner that has become an established practice. Once again I went out and tried some!

[15] First I had some berkshire pork soup dumplings. [16] These here are berkshire pork soup dumplings! [17] Adding some sauce to the Chinese spoon. [18] Let's open the wrapper first. [19] Well, let's take a bite! [20] Yummy!!!!

[21] Next up I had some gyo pao (named after the restaurant). You will get burned if you don't eat them carefully. According to a staff member it can take up to five days to heal... [22] Ah, looks so hot! [23] Wow! It looks delicious! [24] Adding some special sesame oil. [25] Hopefully I won't get burned…[26] I will have a bite now! [27] Even though it's hot, it's so delicious!

[28] To wrap up my meal, I also had some Taiwan Mazesoba! [29] I added some cilantro to my Taiwan Mazesoba. [30] The noodles were chewy and the bamboo shoots were thick and tasty!

Niihao Keishinkaku - Chinese restaurant in Motosumiyoshi. The original store located in Kamata is responsible for popularizing the gyoza with wings style. I came for the regular yaki gyoza and stayed for the sui gyoza, served with a garlic sauce. Unfortunately, the shop closed their doors few months ago!...

Si alguna vez tenéis mono de comer empanadillas de carne, este sitio tiene que estar en el top de la lista. Justo frente al restaurante Ciao Bamboo, este bar-restaurante se puede distinguir fácilmente desde la calle principal por la cola de gente que sale de la entrada. Es uno de los sitios más de moda actualmente en Tokyo, tanto por su comida como por su precio!

Una cosa hay que tener claro, aquí se viene a comer empanadillas, nada más. En cada plato vienen seis porciones y solo las hay de cuatro tipos; las suigyoza 水餃子 cocidas al vapor con opción de añadir ajo y nira, y las yakigyoza 焼餃子 fritas y también con opción del ajo. Pagando un euro más te las sirven con un bol de arroz blanco y un caldo ligero.

No hay mejor acompañamiento que una buena cerveza fría y una tapa de pepino cortado a cubos con salsa de miso. Todo sano y rico!

Visited Manten Gyoza at Yokohama Station and ordered for the first time their suigyoza (boiled)... Ahhh, simple and awesome as their regular fried dumplings!

Tantan Suigyoza and chicken set from Benitora Gyozabou at Ikebukuro's Sunshine City department store. Decent meal for lunch, it was quite tasty.
