#this is hands down the most insane script ive read i was sitting slack jawed half the time #not because its Outrageous but because. oh my fucking God #frank sure does have too much influence over *gestures broadly* This.#to see their dysfunction presented like this. is. so.#like. of course the reason they cant be nice to each other is because they all expect some kind of Trick. we see this again in s12 #they've set a precedent where everyone is unable to be vulnerable out of fear that someone else is going to take advantage of them #its about knowing to Never let their guard down. because they can't afford to be stupid enough to think someone was being nice #its literally about them not trusting each other. they know each other. care about each other. but they're all still at war with each other #anything could be a trojan horse #and even when they try to do something thoughtful it's ruined bc their motives are being questioned and that provokes a defense #''of course i wasn't being Nice that's stupid why would i ever do that for you'' because otherwise theyre leaving themselves open to attack #i think this episode works purely because theyre All trying to change this at once and since theyre all aware of that fact #its like oh okay youre not fucking with me because we've established we're all trying not to be cynical #i cannot even begin to dig into the pure autism of this entire. not even just the episode premise. the whole basis of the gang's dynamic.#like yeah of course a group of weird neurodivergent people is hypersensitive to this #its the same thing as mac and dennis in suburbs questioning wally's intentions/demeanor welcoming them to the neighbourhood #literally in defense mode all the time because they expect the worst from people and they haven't had any reason to think otherwise #marder and rosell get it but thats not exactly new and surprising <3 #but wow this script adds so much. at least for me.#iasip #it's always sunny in philadelphia #ada speaks #character meta #for good measure

#mash #I like O.R. for a lot of reasons! terrible hawnk agenda notwithstanding it's poignant to me #how well their paralleled treatment outcomes in this episode emphasize the lack of control in the overall situation #Frank's patient lives and Hawk's patient dies and whether you have perseverance and talent and resourcefulness or none at all #it's like a match in the wind #there are good moments and bad moments and moments of human truth and they're strung next to each other #on the same particular senselessness of harmful institution #there is kindness that exists in spite of it #and there's even a fire in hospital

An email. A brief text. Have Foggy excitedly brag to Matt and Karen that he has #something to show them tomorrow morning that is going to blow their minds #But no. They just expected that people would hang in there waiting for a point.#I have always loved the mystery solving aspect of this show and so I personally felt very disconnected with everything #for most of this season. So to just bring this up in the last 2 episodes feels a bit late.#But I do love them getting their sleuth on together. And I guess it makes sense if things changed now because Karen's back.#Like her departure paused everything and her arrival back is just as everything hits a new gear.#Matt wasn't meant to work this all out on his own.#I still think it wasn't worth Foggy's life but it's an interesting plot piece.#And I like Matt hyping Karen up at the beginning. Like no duh she's good at finding things - she was a reporter.#Matt should really invest in a coat so he isn't wandering around dressed like Daredevil in places that likely have cameras.#I'd say he could have borrowed one from Frank but... now I'm picturing that conversation and that seems a little farfetched.#Frank has like two outfits I doubt he has a coat he can lend out.#(The new gif limits are crazy FYI. I haven't done much giffing in years so it's so weird not trying to keep everything to less than 3MBs.)

i started watching win or lose i really like it

#win or lose #the movement in the animation is really fun and there's so many details #i also love the voice work it's very good #i've only seen two episodes so far but i LOVE the format of each episode being anthology-like #as in just taking a different character's perspective on the same few weeks #very cool #i really loved how in laurie's episode #she dives in front of the ball to take the hit to keep her promise of making it on base #but in frank's episode she just gets beaned in like a split second #some of the stylization i don't like and some i do. mixed bag #but i'm just really enamoured with the concept it feels really fresh

my one and only qualm with frank v russia is that they de-canonized frank reynolds being a freak bitch who likes taking it up the ass. WHY are we pretending that the man who, according to artemis, FREQUENTLY needs an “anal stimulant” to get off would be weirded out by mac letting a stranger control the anal beads in his ass via remote control. he shouldve gone on a rant about the last time he had beads up his own ass until charlie mercifully swept him away to play chess and left dennis & dee even more traumatized than usual

#fave spotting #mary tamm #romana i #classic doctor who #romanadvoratrelundar #public eye #doctor who #how about it‚ frank?#1975 #thames #pretty terrible pics I know but im still watching these on that Tube You know about bc my dvds are many many miles away #i think i probably only ever watched s7 the once because (outside of the fairly significant plot thread of the first two eps) i remember #almost nothing of this final series. actually‚ because the series (like most of its era) was shot out of sequence‚ this was actually the #very final episode to be shot. the much missed Tamm was early in her career here‚ with just a handful of screen appearances (tho she'd #had a stint with the well regarded Birmingham rep‚ so was hardly inexperienced). later in 75 she'd have her first real meaty role in the #BBC's adaptation of Muriel Spark's The Girls of Slender Means; then of course there was DW a few years away and cult tv immortality #she's good here‚ but hasn't much to do; the role is disappointing tbh‚ her character is a model and shows a mild spark of independence but #the script repeatedly defines her as the wife of another character and‚ particularly disappointingly (and fairly unusually for the show)‚#broadly supports the husband's chauvinistic viewpoint that she should be providing more wifely services ie. cooking and cleaning #it's dumb and irritating and it's very annoying to have Frank tell her she should learn to cook. idk‚ it's a bad moment in a bad sideplot #of a brilliant show. so it goes ig. but hey‚ always lovely to see Mary <3

I think it's interesting that they made Columbo so nice, especially in comparison to the hardboiled detectives in other cop shows. Like when he tells Johnny Cash, "A guy who sings like you can't be all bad" and it's like, Frank, sir. He jumped out of a plane to commit double homicide. He BOGOed murder, Lt. Columbo.
