mary and dean both thinking they wanted an apple pie life when they were young. thinking, dreaming, of fitting into the quintessential suburban happy family mold. both wanting so badly to get out of hunting, to get out from under their fathers' thumbs, to settle somewhere quiet and have a family. both running toward white picket fences. john, the goody-two-shoes smiling all american boy next door. he's back from the war and ready to settle down. lisa, the smiling single mom who opens her door to the broken soldier and folds him into her family. both mary and dean finding themselves restless in these dollhouse-homes. both of them realizing they're not cut out for normal and hunting will never bleed out of their veins. both of them sneaking around, living double lives, because they'll never be able to quit so long as there's still people who need protecting and saving. saving people, saving people, saving people. it's their family business, his and mary's. both of them, later in life, finding new ways to be, accepting who they are, what they are. getting second chances at love and life and family. dean, declaring proudly, that he has a family. family looking different from those young idealistic fantasies. them sending lebanon john back because the dream of the perfect little nuclear family isn't worth losing what they have now, isn't worth losing what's real.

My little sister is on her high school golf team, which is already really funny because she does not have the vibes or personality you would expect of a golfer, but she the other day she sent me a picture of her senior student athlete poster and the energy is so incredible. It's got her in her little polo shirt and glove and everything except instead of coming across as cute suburban golf girl she looks more like the sullen frontwoman of a sapphic grunge band.

Please picture a tiny Korean girl with half her hair dyed hot pink, a bunch of ear and nose piercings, eyebrows filled in with sharp red and black liner and a slit shaved into one of them, and a deeply unimpressed expression on her face, standing there in a golf uniform with a club slung over her shoulder looking more like she's about to hit you with it than she is a golf ball.

wait i just saw young sheldon listed under kids tv on netflix and while i have seen enough of that show to actually agree with that categorization, im now confused as to why the writers of the big bang theory would think their core audience would want a spinoff of that show aimed at kids. although i guess to be fair by the end of its run i have no idea who tbbt's core audience was even supposed to be

the most obscure and my FAVVVVVV ARTIST EVER is sopor aeternus & the ensemble of shadows 😄 idk her music is described on google as “neoclassical dark wave”… like idek what that means…….. also i tried listening to other music in that genre and i hate it all its literally only her 💀

also my music may not be completely obscure, but it’s like definitely a weird combination??? like i go from glee covers to goth music to new wave to gangsta rap.. i found that the only common factor in the songs i like is that i need it to change every 5 seconds whether it’s the beat of the song or the instrumentals or the way the person is singing i need it FUNKY!!!!!

Watching the way some men are having a Very Normal Reaction to the term "pavement princess" is hilarious to me. I saw one guy make a tiktok where he showed his truck said "see, I put OFFROADER stickers in three places and I went in this gravel road! It's not a pavement princess!"

Pavement Princess is the name for a jacked up super truck, you know the ones, that really mostly only exist in suburban areas with custom paint jobs and the brightest LEDs you can buy on the market, but pickup beds smaller than a Honda Acty. They're gas guzzling, road destroying, pedestrian killing, ego-boosting machines.

And yes, the Cybertruck is absolutely a Pavement Princess.

Like, damn, maybe we finally do have a slur for cishet white men.
