100% this. stereotype/generalization and dehumanization go hand in hand. it's so, so important to remember, to remind yourself than everyone has a story and that everyone is an individual in their own right.

to gen alpha: hi, internet rando here. i'll admit i've poked fun at y'all myself on many an occasion (i mean...is anyone truly innocent of this?). i hope it came off as ironic rather than serious. if i genuinely hurt any of y'all, you have my permission to, uhh, crucify me in the square or whatever /hj

sometimes, i envy y'all. like, seriously. i cannot even begin to describe the things i would've given—still would give—to have grown up on the internet instead of growing up alone. the internet brings people together, for better and for worse.

you're cool, cringe, and everything in between. you're some of the funniest people i've met. you've changed—and you will change—and you'll stay the same. i hope your futures will outshine those of my generation, and of generations past.
