The Quintessential 20s Hairstyle: The Bob

The 1920s was an era that seems to have broken many of the golden rules of fashion. Loose, unstructured dresses with no waistline, masculine clothing styles, and short hair. The bob in particular is synonymous with the 1920s flapper. The new, freer woman embraced the ease and practicality the cut enabled. There were several variations of the bob, some of which you will find below.

when characters have poofy messy but otherwise straight hair, i like to headcanon that their hair is actually naturally wavy/curly and they just don't know how to/don't care to take proper care of it. bc irl that is often the case (speaking from personal experience)

i love (?) when. hairdressers just don’t seem to understand that i WANT to cut my hair short. i’ve always had naturally long hair because it grows really quickly but since ive started college ive liked cutting it short right before the semester but i didn’t get it cut last winter because i just. never had time

so the point is every time i go in there and they’re like “so what are we doing today miss grace” and i go “i just want to cut like. five or so inches off” and they stop and go “do you know how long five inches is” and they show me it and i go “yeah that’s like perfect actually” and it like. baffles them sometimes

the lady at the spot right next to us was genuinely shocked to see my going short and “cutting off all that hair” and idk it’s just like. i don’t know what to tell you i want to go short again what’s the big deal 😭

I think we need to bring back fursonas and fursuits with like human hair. It was SO 2000’s-2010’s and I rlly miss it. And it’s so unique!!! It really gives off that early furry fandom vibe it was SO GOOD!!! I MISS SEEING FIXES AND WOLVES WITH HUMAN HAIR STYLES.

Especially on realistic fur suits I think it really ties in the anthropomorphic/ humanization theme together!!! Fuck it I’m a fursuit maker and I’m gonna do it someday

ok as Extremely physically comfortable this haircut is i dont think im ever gonna go this short again :/ i have to fully rewet and style with leave-in at minimum to even recognise myself in the mirror and im not wasting my energy on that when im at home w no visitors so i keep getting weirded out whenever i pass a mirror lol who is that guy.... i knew i had thick hair but by god. very 80s not in a good way.
