rewatching invincible and thinking about what episode 2 was like from the flaxans' pov

you invade another world with your incredible interdimensional portals and laser guns, and discover it's an existentially hostile realm where time moves a hundred times faster and is protected by just a few super powered warriors.

you retreat, you plan. over the next thirty years you develop a counter to the super-aging and devise specific counter measures for each of the super warriors. you go back, and you almost get them, but they counter your anti-aging technology and you have to retreat again.

another few decades. an entire generation born and grown during this conflict. after so many years of preparation, you finally return, your technology advanced to the point that the world's super defenders don't have a chance to stop you.

and then find out those guys were the junior league. a new guy, stronger than you could ever imagine in your worst nightmares, comes out of nowhere and kicks your asses back to next tuesday, and he doesn't stop. he follows you home and spends months single-handedly annihilating your entire civilization. a few of you only manage to hide and survive because he wanted to be home for dinner.
