This absolutely sucks for the people this happened to (to put it mildly) but in releasing the JFK files (which I just don’t give a damn about) and let’s say their enthusiasm to prove how transparent and good they are (they’re so stupid) the trump administration ended up releasing 400 people’s social security numbers, along with the files.

You know, probably because Trump demanded there be no redactions at all.

Idiots.

Seriously, they’re such fucking idiots who can only do damage and make things worse for people; even when they’re not being malicious, cruel, violent bigots that’s still all they’re capable of. Like, this isn’t just some silly little oopsie. This is a major fuckup. Like... How do you fuck up this badly?

And my god their proposed solution in how they’re going to rectify this to people; I would not feel comforted or reassured at all if it was my number that got released.

They need to remove the "convicted felon" option from job applications, and anything else that requires you to say whether or not you have a criminal history. Because CLEARLY if we can have a convicted felon in the white house, then convicted felons everywhere should be allowed to get jobs, should be allowed to vote, etc.

So in science, it's pretty common to get internships during your undergrad studies. The whole reason I'm currently in my PhD program is because of an internship I had. I'm in the same program, and it's awesome. I loved my internship, it opened my eyes and genuinely was great.

Today, I met with my committee about PhD things. They were chatting about how they had a ton of applications but can accept them. I looked over at them and said wait what? The one person looked at me and said funding. There isn't any funding.

All I can think about is how many lives will be altered because of this funding. How many kids like me won't get their shot at studying cool things. How many students won't be able to get decent jobs because of lack of experience because of lack of funding.

I've posted about how slashing funding for research is stupid. But seeing this, and having the horrible realization that this very well could have been me not being funded (and still might be depending on situation) just sucked.

How many lives must be altered and changed for the worse before the general public cares.

This is absolutely stupid. According to Trump:

Autism isn’t rising or anything. It’s called better testing, better understanding, and better education/sources. And oh my god, the Pennsylvania Dutch (whatever that is), has autistic people too I’m willing to bet.

What does autism have to do with anything political?
