Expert Tree Removal Services in Toronto: Why It Matters for Safety & Aesthetics
Introduction: The Importance of Professional Tree Removal
Trees are an essential part of Toronto’s urban landscape, offering shade, beauty, and environmental benefits. However, there are times when tree removal becomes a necessity due to safety hazards, disease, or urban development needs. At Toronto Tree Removal, we specialize in safe, professional, and efficient tree removal services across various neighborhoods, including The Annex, The Beaches, Liberty Village, and more.

In this post, we’ll discuss when tree removal is necessary, the process involved, and how to choose the best tree removal service in Toronto.
When Should You Consider Tree Removal?
Not all trees need to be removed, but some situations demand professional intervention. Here are common reasons why property owners in Toronto might need tree removal services:
Dead or Dying Trees: If a tree is diseased, decaying, or completely dead, it poses a significant risk of falling and causing damage.
Storm Damage: Severe weather, including strong winds and ice storms, can weaken trees, making them unstable.
Structural Damage Risk: If tree roots are damaging underground pipes, sidewalks, or your home’s foundation, removal may be the best solution.
Obstructing Construction or Landscaping Projects: Sometimes, trees need to be cleared for new buildings, driveways, or other landscaping projects.
Invasive Species & Infestations: Trees affected by pests like the emerald ash borer may need to be removed to prevent the spread to healthy trees.
If you’re unsure whether a tree should be removed, our team at Toronto Tree Removal can provide an assessment.
The Tree Removal Process: What to Expect
At Toronto Tree Removal, we follow a structured and safe approach to tree removal:
1. Site Inspection & Assessment
Our ISA-certified arborists first assess the tree's condition, size, and location to determine the safest removal method.
2. Obtaining Necessary Permits
In Toronto, tree removal regulations require permits for trees over 30 cm in diameter on private property. We assist clients with the application process, ensuring compliance with city regulations.
3. Safe & Efficient Tree Removal
Using specialized equipment such as ropes, harnesses, and cranes, we carefully cut and remove the tree in sections, minimizing damage to surrounding property.
4. Stump Grinding & Cleanup
Once the tree is removed, we offer stump grinding services to eliminate the remaining base, leaving a clean and usable space.
5. Eco-Friendly Disposal & Recycling
We ensure that all removed trees are properly disposed of or repurposed, such as being turned into mulch or firewood.

Why Choose Toronto Tree Removal?
Choosing the right tree removal company is essential for safety, efficiency, and legal compliance. Here’s why Toronto Tree Removal is a trusted choice:
✅ Fully Licensed & Insured: We are WSIB-covered and adhere to all safety regulations to protect our workers and your property. ✅ Certified Arborists: Our team includes ISA-certified arborists who bring expertise and precision to every job. ✅ Fast & Reliable Service: Available 7 days a week from 7 AM to 10 PM, we offer emergency tree removal services when needed. ✅ Competitive Pricing & Free Estimates: We provide affordable tree removal services with upfront pricing and no hidden fees.

Trailer park Steve AU part 61
part 1 | part 60 | ao3
cw: mentions of canonical minor character death
Chapter 14
It's twilight by the time they make their way to Rick's place — gnat clouds swarming, sun dipped low, Lover's Lake an inky smudge beyond the blur of passing pines. Steve’s not totally sure how they got here, this dusty service road that's more pothole than pavement; one minute he's bitching about doomed love and double VHS, the next he’s taking the scenic route to a drug den.
There were some important moments in between, he’s pretty sure.
He’s also pretty sure he blacked out somewhere around the moment the morning news reported that an-unidentified-Hawkins-student-who-very-well-could-be-Eddie-Munson was found dead in his fucking trailer.
Kinda difficult to resurface from that one.
Feels like his soul’s got swimmer’s ear.
Even hours later — after Dustin and Max burst into Family Video talking a mile a minute about how Eddie was alive and they needed to use the phones; after Ernie stupidly gave a reporter Steve’s name, swearing up and down on the TV that his neighbor Steve Harrington was an upstanding young man who would never do something like this; after they spent an agonizingly long afternoon lying low and taking backroads to avoid the cops because the cops probably suspect Steve of murder now, oh god—
“It’s this next right up ahead,” Max says from the back seat. There's a map spread over the bench between her and Dustin, and Steve blinks himself awake; gives her a nod in the rearview.
Beside her, Dustin’s munching on Twizzlers he stole from the store — window down, easy slouch, just way too chipper for the situation at hand. "So Steve," he says conversationally, "now that you're a fugitive, does that mean—?"
Steve cuts Robin a pleading look.
Robin reaches back and smacks the little twerp upside the head.
"Ow!" Dustin whines.
"Shut up, please," Robin smiles.
Max makes a sound like she's trying not to laugh and checks the map again. "Right here," she says, pointing. "After that weird tree stump."
They turn onto another road that could be generously described as paved, once, several decades ago, and eventually, the winding path lets out onto a slightly nicer street. Aging but cared for, Holland Road is a crowded row of little lake houses, trailers and shacks with manicured shrubs and chipped fence paint, weeds growing through the sidewalks beneath pristine American flags. Steve pulls into the driveway of #2121.
It looks abandoned. Dark inside and out, a truck parked on the curb that's likely been there for a while, its tires sagging in a mulch of old wet leaves. There’s an autumn wreath on the front door.
“You sure this is the place?” he asks as they climb out of the car.
Max sasses him for questioning her navigation skills, Dustin unsuccessfully tries to land a revenge slap on Robin — a move that earns him a retaliation wedgie and a wrestling match he was never gonna win — and Steve pops the trunk and feels a hundred years old. Feels every bit the exhausted dad trying to keep the family road trip together as he grabs his nail bat and slings his duffel over his shoulder.
"You planning to spend the night?" Dustin teases from Robin's armpit, still bent double where she's got him in a headlock.
"No, just-" he drops the bag at their feet with a grunt, “doesn’t hurt to be prepared.”
Dustin’s eyes bug out. “Is that a can of goddamn bear mace?”
“Keep your voice down!” Steve hisses.
“You keep your voice down!”
"Should I just go ahead and choke him out?" Robin offers.
Steve considers it for a second: knock 'em all out, stuff 'em back inside the car. Go do this shit quietly by himself.
He rolls his eyes and puts his hands on his hips.
"You're no fun," she pouts, but she lets Dustin go.
Dustin grabs flashlights and walkies out of the bag, passes them around the circle. They take a moment to steel themselves — huddled together in the dark, shoulders tense, the creepy house looming ahead. Sharp shadows stretch toward them. Croaking sounds creeping from the edges of the lake.
Robin puts her flashlight under her chin like she's about to tell a scary story. "Alright, kiddos," she says in a deep, ominous voice. "Let's go rescue Steve's ex."
Stunned silence in the sudden vacuum her words create. Steve lets out a tired sigh. Dustin’s jaw is on the curb.
“His WHAT?” Dustin shouts.
Oh, my god. “He’s not my ex."
Robin rolls her eyes and says ‘sure’ under her breath, and Max turns to Dustin, laughing. “You didn’t know they were a thing?”
“We’re not—” Steve tries again.
“What were you trying to get them back together for then?”
She seems genuinely curious. Dustin seems three seconds from spontaneous combustion. “What was I WHAT?!” he yelps, limbs everywhere. Reminds Steve of Eddie so bad it hurts.
“Okay,” Steve interrupts, clapping them both on the shoulder; drops his voice to a harsh whisper. “In case you two forgot, we’re here to rescue Eddie.”
“Who you’re dating.”
Dustin’s voice is small, disconnected, his gaze far away. Like he’s shellshocked.
“Jesus Christ.” Steve pinches the bridge of his nose. “I— Yes. No. It’s complicated.”
Max snorts at his answer, Dustin makes a series of faces like he's gonna need seven years to process, and Robin interrupts his crisis by waving her flashlight like a traffic guard, walking backward up the hill as she directs them toward the house.
“Why don’t we just go find him first?” she suggests, making a rainbow with her hands, flinging light through the grimy windows. “And then Stevie here can answer alllll your big gay questions.”
Steve glares at Robin. Dustin glares at him, narrowed eyes for a full ten seconds like 'yeah, you fucking better,' and then he takes off up the driveway hollering Eddie's name.

I think one of the really interesting parts of designing spaces for shared human use and natural habitat is that nature relies on a certain amount of messiness. A lot of the moths, native bees, and butterflies that people explicitly want to help rely on things like standing leaf litter and rotting wood to complete their lifecycles. A lot of birds need dead and dying trees. And yet in order to really catch on and spread, ecological plantings need to appeal to people and work for their needs as well. Our "for the bees" plantings can't be untidy messes or no one will want them, and yet a lot of insects winter in the dead stems of spent flowers and plants, for example.
It's something I'm relatively new to thinking about, but I think if we envisioned plantings as giant terrariums, we might be getting somewhere. A driftwood branch, a large rock, some moss, some occluded spaces--these are things we consider normal and attractive in, say, our pet turtle's enclosure. I think those things have a place in the "flowerbeds" of suburban houses, as well. Translate that to a fallen tree arfully placed under some small trees or large shrubs, with native ground covers growing around it. A mossy boulder. If you have a stump, you can put a cute toad house on it, maybe seed it with mushroom spores if it's in a sheltered area. Think of it as a careful composition.
And we need to let go of the idea of bare ground in plantings, at least in my part of the world. Xeriscaping is amazing, but something I cannot speak to at all in my (usually) humid biome with (usually) regular rainfall. Here, if you leave ground bare, it will fix that for you. Fighting it by weeding and mulching forever and ever is a loser's game.
Framing matters, too. You can communicate that a planting is cared for with a neat frame--a nice edging, a small area of neatly mown grass. Lawns and landscaping, at least in the US, are a big signifier of status, and a messy yard will be frowned on and may even bring problems with the HOA or the township. Things like a neatly-kept path and an area of well-maintained lawn are great signals that this is actually a deliberate design.
My succulent garden has also taught me that working with small areas at once makes it a lot easier to get a design the way you want it and get things established. That bed is a real joy, where some of my larger efforts are either definitely a work in progress or "what were they even going for here".
Anyway, lots of thoughts to be had.

NIDOROOK - The Hybrid Monster
Increased overhunting of Nidoran♂ by trainers eager to have Nidokings on their team have left the local Nidoqueens without any males to mate with, causing many of them to seek out a suitable replacement; the only other drill type, Rhydon. Though taxonomically it could be called RHYQUEEN, the resultant offspring can be of either sex and possess traits of both parents, with a larger overall size granting them the immense strength to tunnel long distances. They don't faint easily and aren't afraid to run away when low on hit points which makes them difficult to catch, resulting in the number of wild individuals far outnumbering tamed specimens.
Nidorooks appear to be spreading out from their original hybrid zones in search for new territories and can often be found in recently deforested areas (they love eating stumps). Lately they have begun encroaching into urban environments, invading construction sites and playgrounds (they really love mulch) under cover of night. They also have a habit of tunneling into basements and using them as larders to store stumps, mulch, favorite boulders, etc. Annoyed property owners have begun calling them DEGRADONS, amongst other less flattering names.
They've been spotted in areas that Nidorans don't normally inhabit, such as the Gold/Silver region where the locals call them RAGNAREX. Surprisingly it appears they are also fertile, able to reproduce with Nidokings and Nidoqueens to create "low-content" hybrids, as well as with other Nidorooks, meaning they have potential to become a new self sustaining species in the near future. Their cry kind of sounds like they're saying SHOVEREIGN.
This one's name is BIGDIG.

Fuck it Friday
Tagged by @lemonzestywrites
Chris is near a ring of brownish-orange mushrooms when sudden bright lights and a high pitched shouting noise startles him. He yelps and stumbles backwards, just barely avoiding stepping on the mushrooms. He winds up standing inside the ring of mushrooms, his crutches skittering on the muddy ground.
Chris blames the sudden commotion and confusion for instinctively swinging his crutch when something dark jumps past him. He misses, or maybe it swerves to avoid him, and the fuzzy dark blur resolves into a mangy, underfed looking black cat, perched on a stump as dignified as a creature as dirty and matted as that could be. It gives him what he can only imagine is a disdainful look
The light glare stops blinding him, and now Chris can see a small figure on a bike, whooping as he does a donut before skidding to a stop, kicking up mud and mulch. He’s got a weird bike helmet on, black and spiky with a mask that looks like it might have come from a welder’s shop. He’s wearing a long black coat that’s got strips of colorful duct tape slapped on like patches, splattered with mud.
The mask flips up, and Chris quickly changes his assumptions. She’s a girl, actually, with a freckly, acne-ridden face and frizzy bangs peeking out from beneath her helmet.
“You’re new,” the girl declares.

Just finished reading the first part of the Book of Martyrs (Sisters of Battles anthology) and found it to be surprisingly good!
Things I really loved about it while trying to keep spoilers light:
1. The description of Sister Ishani's Hospitaller gear; how incredibly advanced it is and also fitting for the Imperium, how incredibly stupid.
Her augmentic eye does both the equivalent of MRI and Cat-scan, she does advanced chemical analysis on the fly, she conducts advanced emergency endovascular surgery in the field with only the gear she carries on her back and in her vambrace. She seals open wounds with a mixture of mulched communion wafers and sacred oils. It suggests appropriate prayers for her to sing while doing first aid.
2. The Sisters of the Valorous Heart, black-armoured badasses all. Complete disregard for their own suffering in the face of the foe.
We have one Sister getting her bolter hand and part of her arm cut off, she simply picks up her bolter with the other hand, steadies it on her spurting stump and continues firing.
Another good example is a Sister being impaled on a huge Tyranid limb, cut open from belly to sternum. Once she realises she's dead her reaction is to clamp down on the killing limb with both hand, knuckle-deep in her own viscera; keeping the alien fixed so her Sisters can escape.
3. This fucking thing

Who needs a chainsword when you have a bonesaw on your wrist? I lost count of the number of Tyranids that this whispering instrument of mass amputation maims or kills during this short novel.
3. Facing down a Lictor with two rounds of bolt pistol ammo and two syringes of morphine-derivate between three Sisters.
4. The Immolation Cell mechanism. Hopelessly archaic, dumb, and cool. Perfect for the Imperial aesthetic.
5. Palatine Gundred, and how she's described as being a absolute beast of a woman. No specifics are given but she's huge. She's described as a "gray-haired tower" among other Sisters and "filled the bench with her enormity".
Love that.
6. The Lictor. Though a complete asshole, it's also very very cool. As a Tyranid afficionado, I approve.
7. Borvo the cyber-cherub.
8. The pre-battle prayer scene sent chills down my spine. I'm a sucker for well-written religious scenes.

I have no idea if the rest of the anthology is as good, but for me, the Martyrdom of Sister Ishani is in itself worth the prize of the book.

Sometimes you came back early.
Before the reformattings began. You had your fun.
Her Highness was moving slowly. Was. Spoke as if it already happened. So she always gapped. Always yacked, always had somethin to fill.
Turning behind her, so cute how her eyes would glisten in a moment of panic as the wind picked up. Batting her neck like her lashes, longing to be ringed, you could snap her like a towel, bounce it like some greenwood, see a sapling planted there in the mulch you made of her, creamy on the outsides, strawberry on the insides, stirring her with steel as you spittled on her spoons, gonna play hard for this plate.
She thought it were cute. Way you talked funny
Sounded out words wrong.
Stared at her life a deaf, smiled like a mute.
Gosh, you were just so fuckin stupid.
Fiddling with her locks, she had a great deal of keys. More a Janice than a Janitor, tonight she was so granny she looked downright Jaime Leigh.
Through the wind, through the crevice, the slits in the branches, something caught her gown, so sweet how she huddled, fumbling into the alcolve.
Your teeth were chattering. Your chin was dribbling.
Electrical circuits wrought-iron in your bones.
You fogged up the glass.
Your breath came in plumes.
Carpets of dust you kicked up on the forest floor, feeling fungi bloom of your back, stumps you took of your feet, no manacle fit for a manticore.
See the venom you left pulsating within her.
