Nothing will dispell the "the curtains were just blue" myth faster than writing something yourself, because the amount of pretentious symbolism i am putting in my silly little fanfics is ridiculous. I mean SO much with these words, literally every single one of them. This fic has twenty five typos and zero correct uses of punctuation but if there's curtains you bet your ass I put thought into what colour they were.

My sister went to Disneyland and got my brother and I kyber crystals and I made connecter/keychain things for them so we can carry them around. My brother wanted his to represent balance so I used black and red thread for dark side and green and blue thread for the light side. I went full dark side with mine and used black and red beads!

I feel like if Chujin was still alive during the events of Undertale Yellow, his and Clover's relationship would be incredibly rocky. Pacifist!Clover could bring him around to tolerating them (after all, they have that sort of effect on everyone), but it would be more in a "this human is the only 'good' human" manner than a "maybe I should reevaluate my opinions on humans overall because you can't judge an entire group based off (very biased) stories and one bad experience." Even then, that opinion would be subject to change should Clover ever get frustrated or behave "too aggressively" or act in any manner that isn't perfectly docile. If Clover ends up attacking a monster then it's "humans are just as horrible as they were in the war stories, I should've known better" regardless of the circumstances that could've pushed Clover to fight. Suffocating expectations and endless demands for patience when he wouldn't ask the same of a fellow monster.

And heaven forbid he ever meet Clover on a No Mercy Run...

The Hitoshi Konno Situation

Since I have been getting a few questions about him and have responded quite extensively in the reply section, I thought it would be best to gather everything in one place so it's easier for everyone to find all the relevant information. Hopefully this helps clarify a few uncertainties.

For me it was clear from the get-go that if any of the former Kalafina musicians were to join the Anniversary Live, it would either be Hitoshi Konno or Hirotaka Sakurada. While I wouldn't have completely ruled out the others showing up in support for the girls, it quickly became obvious that their loyalty to Yuki Kajiura was much stronger than their loyalty to the girls. It's not something I would blame them for, with such a long history of working together, it's probably a given to side with Yuki in the midst of a feud like this.

As pianist, Sakurada has obviously never played a huge role in YK's events so consequently, his commitment to Team Yuki is most likely not that strong and he doesn't feel as indebted to her as some of the others. First and foremost, he has always been Kalafina's pianist so one would assume that his loyalties lie with them. In the past few years, we've seen him be hired for a variety of Wakana solo events as well as join a couple of larger YK projects so he clearly does not have any issues doing both. I don't know why he wasn't part of the Anniversary Live lineup but my best guess is that he simply wasn't available at the time due to scheduling conflicts.

Konno and his fellow musicians are a slightly different story. Obviously, Konno has been an integral part of YKL and has been loyal to Yuki as well as her projects for ages, they clearly have strong ties between them. But we have to look at Konno's situation in detail. What is the status quo? Like many musicians, he works on a freelance basis. We know this because in the credits of pamphlets/booklets, we never see any artist management listed in connection to him or his musicians. This of course means that their career is heavily contingent on maintaining solid business relationships. They have a number of agreements/contracts with several artists, creators, studios and TV stations, most notably Fuji Television (and all of its manifestations). Satoshi Takebe is also very heavily involved in Fuji's programs/events so you regularly see Konno Strings perform together with him (e.g. in shows like FNS, Music Fair, etc). Ever since Space Craft brought Takebe on board as Wakana's producer, lots of her stuff has been sponsored by Fuji and she has frequently appeared on Fuji programs. The intertwined relationship between all of them has made it possible for Takebe to hire Konno Strings to contribute in Wakana's solo releases. Therefore it came as no surprise at all when it was announced that Konno Strings would be part of the Kalafina Anniversary Live musician lineup, especially when you take into account that the concert was also sponsored by Fuji! I would assume that Konno Strings cannot afford to refuse a job offer from one of their biggest clients simply based on personal sensibilities, that would be utterly unprofessional behaviour that could potentially jeopardise a prolific business relationship.

Now why is Konno's involvement in a Space Craft project not seen as betrayal while Wakana, Keiko and Hikaru are being shunned for their association?

First of all, as a general rule, Japanese work culture demands a certain respect for existing business commitments. Much importance is attached to loyalty so Konno's allegiances to someone other than Yuki are likely to be tolerated. Konno's work relationship with Fuji (and by extension Takebe and by even further extension Space Craft) seems to be long-running so it should be honoured. Realistically, Team Yuki would have to bite the bullet and put up with Konno accepting this sort of job offer even if they considered it as a minor slight. This respect for a long-standing agreement would stop them from reproaching Konno with serious fault in the matter.

Secondly, Konno was presumably brought on board after that unfortunate announcement whereas the Kalafina members were involved in the reunion project from pretty much the get-go. Even from an outsider's point of view, Konno's part in all of this is not nearly as significant and can be brushed aside as no big deal. This rings particularly true if you take into account that Konno most likely had no choice in the matter while WaKeiHi deliberately chose to attach themselves to the project.

Thirdly, whatever contract/agreement the girls signed as vocalists and members of the group, it is almost definitely very different from whatever all the musicians have been made to sign. The girls surely had (possibly still have) to deal with a number of obligations and restrictions while the musicians simply signed up for another random gig. Factors like this can easily influence the perception of someone's involvement. If you bind yourself to a project and are willingly participating in the petty activities of a 'hostile party' then this will naturally be seen as more of an affront than simply being hired for a run-of-the-mill job with no further attachments.
