here's the thing i supported their patreon (at their lowest tier but still) because i genuinely liked them and wanted them to succeed and i felt like i was contributing to that even if it was in a very small way. but i did that voluntarily and because i could afford it and it helped them make content that was free for people who couldn't afford it. forcing people to pay for your previously free content- which is currently just one 30ish minute video a week- feels greedy and dismissive of the goodwill and love they've built up within their fanbase

just to reiterate because the "$100k a month" number keeps being thrown around:

that math was done based on their total number of patreon subscribers, which includes those in the free tier who aren't actually giving them any money.

they currently have almost 5900 paying members. 'worst case' scenario would be assuming that every single one of those patrons is subscribed only for the minimum pledge of $5 (which is most certainly not the case). that'd be a minimum monthly payout of $29.5k.

again, it's probably more because of patrons at higher tiers - but the math of "12.6k patrons x $5/month" does not reflect reality!

Watcher update gives me mixed feelings tbh. It’s been made very clear that they’re not business people but to overlook your entire audience while going over the logistics of moving your entire catalogue, past and future, to a paid platform????? The appreciation they’ve reassured us of just doesn’t seem as deep as it should be. I’m glad they’ve changed their model but knowing how poorly they’re spending money on (at least some of) their shows changes the way I might watch them

Idk if you saw tms today but I was laughing at how much Ryan apparently looks at Shane’s ass. He’s always insulting it but it’s also like, damn boy quit starring? Agdhdhd jk

Yeah I unfortunately had the pleasure (?) of seeing jokerfied tms, and everything was happening there so much. (also I don't know anything about the jokers so to me this was just four guys being clowns and stupid horny).

And yes Ryan was very much commenting on Shane's ass it's almost like he hates that he likes it. It reminded me of how sometimes married couples do that where you're like "I love you but your ass was always flat and you have other qualities that I love about you but that is not it". It's also interesting to me that Shane opted for "I as a Joker have a nice ass" and ended the topic. Anyway none of this is straight to me.

It's also interesting to me that they started as being "in character" but then quickly defaulted to just being Shane and Ryan but in joker costumes. That adds to me another layer of the whole performance vs sincerity that they tiptoe around in their content. Like yeah you can have elaborate makeup, and pretend you're a villain but at the end of the day you're Ryan and Shane (unhinged Joker version).

Whenever you would invite her to join your streams, she was pretty anxious to do so. So you both had a talk about it for quite a while to help her get comfortable.

When she finally stepped into the studio and looked at the camera, she could tell that a bunch of people were watching her.

You always found it cute how she hides behind you whenever she gets too shy in front of your viewers. But overtime she learned to get more comfortable in front of the camera.

When you introduced her to your viewers the chat was way on simping for her and giving her compliments. She was pretty flustered and flattered by that to be honest.

So now whenever you're about to record another stream, your chat is going to be searching around and asking where Heidi is at.
