Nero; The Gentle Light, The Cold Light, Our Lady of Progress
She/Her
She’s a vessel much like the rest of her siblings, however their egg was one of the furthest from the abyssal sea. As a result her egg absorbed far less void than the rest, mostly taking in ambient void. This resulted in most of their dying from void poisoning, however instead of reanimating like the rest of the vessels they simply remained dead. Her light was by far the strongest of her clutch and as a result allowed them to survive exposure to the void without dying, as a result she’s much closer to being like Hornet than her siblings.
They don’t have a voice to cry out with however. I imagine that particular trait of vessels was something done by the white lady to her seeds intentionally and then was doubled down on by the void. Unlike her siblings they do actually have a mouth and can enjoy food. She especially likes rotten eggs for the texture(this is inherited from her father, not that they know it). Her wings are also something they inherited from their father. Her light however is a mix of both of their parents. It’s a light that falls deep but not far, and has inherently a soft light like her mothers. As a result it tends to permeate things and cling to them like roots clinging to a stone. She also inherited her mothers eye color and it’s likely that eventually they will go blind like her mother. They would are interestingly not a Pale being or Pale light, mostly due to their light tending towards bluer hues, Pale beings are always a completely sterile white light . The prisming that tainted her light in the egg was due to proximity to the lifeblood core, had the rest of her egg mates survived they likely would have had blue lights.
They fled Hallownest as soon as she could, and made it the furthest beyond the reach of the wastes that any siblings had. She settled in a kingdom named Frostspun and started her career as a doctor. She treats both mundane and magical maladies. She has a huge aptitude for magics that they inherited from her father. She’s the goddess of magic, science and healing and generally sees magic and science as two sides of the same coin. I imagine they bumped into Ghost as both fled Hallownest as I think both left at roughly the same time, although Ghost got out first. Her egg took a much longer time to hatch than the others, so when they hatched the abyss was already mostly filled with dead vessels. Her egg was also higher above the surface of the abyss than others. She likes baking as a hobby and has one hell of a sweet tooth.

Ask Box is-
... Ah. Erm-
Well, since the Mayor is currently occupied, the Chief of War is willing to answer questions (against their own will)!!! The Ivory Lady is there but, I doubt she will indulge in listening to the voices. You could try tho and see what happens, ahaha!
Asks will remain with the 4-6 slots, but the speed in which I am able to answer them may potentially slow down due to my life starting to get a little bit busier. Therefore there is a chance I won't be able to open the box again on Tuesday/Wednesday. Regardless, have fun everyone!!!
UPDATE: Ask Box is closed!!! :DDD

As an avid little nightmares enthusiast, what are your serious beliefs on the often overlooks Wax Bellman? Any theories or headcanons?
Frankly? I don't really have anything.
Don't get me wrong -- I find it very sweet that the fandom has always tried to involve him into the fan content, making him part of the crew of the Maw even though he was cut in the end. Considering how involved he was in the marketing of the game up until 2016 we have good reason to believe that the guy was also beloved by the crew; he must have been a "last second" cut.
(Pictures from the previously mentioned con.)
His situation is really a sad one because it would have been awesome to have him run around in the game. Would have made the runtime longer.
HOWEVER! His presence is still tangible in the Maw, in spite of him being gone. This is something I will gladly get into: bring little details to light is something I am very fond of doing.
We see him directly in a couple of paintings owned by the Lady, both in the Residence and in her own quarters. She has a habit of keeping pictures of her employees; this is a good indicator that he was on the Maw during her reign. Might be an obvious statement, but you never know with the Maw... In all of these instances, he is found hanging by his neck; considering his jack in the box is also in a room where a Nome is swinging aggressively on a lamp attached to a long wire, the "cord around neck" part is a prominent aspect of this character.
((This is, most likely, one of the reasons why they ultimately cut him out. I cannot imagine how hard it would be to animate a guy walk around with a cord around his neck all the time. Adding to that, his face looks hard to model and keep consistent, so that's a point against him as well.))
Keeping his profession in mind, one could really call him a dog on a leash. A bellman is a person who helps the guests carry their luggage inside their place of residence and shares information about the establishment and its services. From what we can discern from the first painting, we can also see that this particular Bellman was also the one in charge of the booking and the tickets, so doing check ins and things of the like.
Generally, he'd be the one to look after the Guests more closely, which lines up with the traces of him we are left with...
You see, in the 2016 con, the Wax Bellman was shown hiding behind a two-way mirror. He could only be seen once the light was turned on, on his side of the mirror. Meaning that the two way mirror we see in LN 1 is most likely one of the places he would have resided in.
That in itself is not too obscene considering the other customs of the Maw, but the mirror is in a bathroom. And he has a chair. With toilet paper.
... Yeah, uh. Very interesting, Tarsier Studios! 😁👍🏻
About Tarsier Studios, actually! This ask reminded me of something they said in regards to the Ferryman and the Wax Bellman. A few years back, LN twitter referred to the Bellman as "Ferryman"; for this reason, it was believed for a while that the two characters were either the same person, or that one replaced the other in the lore. This was confirmed to not be the case!
(From this awesome interview! I suggest you go listen to it, because this screenshot is hard to read + it reveals a LOT of Maw lore!)
So we can finally put a stone on this lost soul. He is lost to time, but never forgotten. Keep the fan content of him coming!

Sometimes I sit down to think about the true ramifications of how / what the Fizz Bots are to Fizzarolli,
Imagine robotic clones ( sexual, at that ) being made of you and they are not only modeled after you in physical appearance, but have a likeness to your personality, mannerisms and general demeanor. Imagine they say the things you would, possibly act in the same way you would.
What's worse, is that they're made in your likeness in real time; their production / manufacturing ages along with you,
Imagine you SEE these things being assaulted, used & abused in public; these clones take it all with a smile. Soulless, mindless... But as if that's not enough, then realizing that they may just have sentience. Or at least, they give off the impression they do. And on top of ALL that... they have chunks of your memories, your past; they're you, but at the same time, they aren't,
What do you do with that information? How do you treat them ( yourself? )? What's the end game?

Time is so interesting in this manga, because we're getting it from the perspective of someone who functionally doesn't experience it herself, but is learning to through the world around her. A flower has (maybe) gone extinct, remembered only by the eldest members of the community, and she once knew someone who said they were all over his hometown. It feels like it's less about Frieren missing things that she remembers so much as her, well, missing things--not realizing things that might be of value or interest until they're already lost to time.

This is the first time it has clicked for me that very likely, Childermass sends Lady Pole to Starecross not to fulfil his promised favour to John Segundus, but because he knows that Segundus is as sensitive to magic as himself, and so is bound to notice that Lady Pole walks half in Faerie. Childermass knows that it'll be difficult for him to investigate this mystery himself once the lady is sent into seclusion, so he sends her to Segundus so that he will be tempted to continue to unravel the mystery on Childermass' behalf, although he won't know that's what he's doing. And also, I suspect, Childermass figures placing her with timid Mr Segundus means Childermass will get access to the lady if he wants it later. In that case, he has forgotten that while timid, John Segundus is not spineless.
By the way, how very lucky it is that just when a madhouse is needed, Mr Segundus has a vision that inspires him to open one at Starecross. What an incredible coincidence. Not Childermass' doing at all. Nope. He's never manipulated John Segundus in his life. Doesn't sound like him. Couldn't be.
