My complicated feelings towards Glitter Force
(Remember this is all my opinion please don't attack me)
So I wanted to talk about Glitter force a bit because I have a bit of a love hate relationship with it. So now that Glitter Force has been removed from Netflix and with absolutely no plans of renewing it at least at the time of this post I thought it was a good time to talk about it.
So lets go back in time to 2016. It was a dark and stormy night I was fresh into middle school I had transferred out of my shitty Catholic Elementary School and started public middle school.
I was bullied relentlessly in elementary school so I wasn't in a good headspace at the time.
Anyways I was mindlessly scrolling through Netflix when I came across Glitter Force, during this time I had gotten into Sailor moon and it looked similar so I clicked on it and watched the first few episodes.
I thought it was pretty good at the time and binged the whole season. Anyways because of that I would watch glitter force related videos on YouTube and then I came across an AMV (yes I was that kid😂) of New Stage I recognized Happy and Peace on the thumbnail next to two other girls (Melody and I think Muse) and wondered who they were as the title of the video was in Japanese, so I clicked on it and oh my God my little 11 year old mind was blown. It was awesome! and I wanted more of that content and I wanted to know more about the other girls. The I came across Azen Zone's reviews and fell in love with the franchise.
Anyways I didn't actually get to watch a pretty cure season in subs until I think Huggto on one of those free streaming sites and came across the Smile sub and Dear God was it leagues above Glitter Force because the dub was dog water compared to the original. And I was surprised that they had left a good amount of episodes out of the dub as well.
So I'm going to get into the gripes I have with GF/Doki Doki. In no way am I blaming the dub cast as I'm sure they had to work with what they were given but looking at the cast. GF and Doki Doki was stacked with really good actors.
The Cast:
Glitter Force:
Laura Bailey who played Cure Happy/Glitter Lucky
Colleen O'Shaughnessey played Cure Sunny/Glitter Sunny
Alex Cazares played Cure Peace/Glitter Peace
Danielle Judovits played Cure March/Glitter Spring
Kate Higgens played Cure Beauty/Glitter Breeze
Debi Derryberry played Candy
Todd Haberkorn played Pop
Mary Elizabeth McGlynn played Royal Queen/Queen Euphoria and Majorina/Brooha
Keith Silverstein played Wolfurun/Ulric Akaoni/Brute and Joker/Rascal
Glitter Force Doki Doki
Debi Derryberry played Cure Heart/Glitter Heart
Cassandra Lee Morris played Cure Diamond/Glitter Diamond
Melissa Fahn played Cure Rosetta/Glitter Clover
Stephanie Sheh played Cure Sword/Glitter Sword and Raquel
Erica Lindbeck played Cure Ace/Glitter Ace and Dabyi/Davi
Tara Sands played Sharuru/Kippy
Bryce Papenbrook played Lance
Ray Chase played Bel
Benjamin Disqen Ira
Carrie Keranen played Marmo
Cherami Leigh played Regina
Grant George played Joe Okada
Kirk Thornton played Sebastian
So the acting I don't mind at times, the name changes, don't mind that either, Pokemon was known for doing this back then all the way up until Ash's exit from the anime. There were also times where the scene would darken the mostly happened when the girls used their attacks I can see them doing this because they didn't want to cause any health risks and cause seizures so it didn't bother me too much. So what's the issue then?
One of the biggest issues I had when it came to Glitter force after watching the original was how much they changed. They removed a lot of episodes. For example Smile had 48 episodes and Glitter force removed 8 while Doki Doki had 49 episodes and Glitter force removed 19 episodes and even combined some of the episodes which kind of made them clunky. The episodes removed were the ones focused on culture and I guess you can use the excuse it by saying that they removed it so that they wouldn't confused kids but thats still a pretty bad excuse they also changed it so that Glitter force took place in the United States and that just seems a bit silly to me.
They also removed the episode about Yayoi's dad and understanding why she was named Yayoi which is concidered one of the best episodes in the season and I've seen some people say that it's one of the best in the francise. Another thing that annoyed me was that they removed the episode where Brian a student exchange student from America transfered into their class, this episode was about a language barrier between him and Akane so I can see why they didn't want to dub it but they end up still mentioning him in a later episode so if they didn't want to confuse the audiance they failed. I mean what they could have done is have him speak in a diffrent language and say he came from i don't know Spain instead of America. They did this in the Tokyo Mew mew dub but I digress.
They also removed the episode where the girls go and visit Miyuki's grandma which I don't really understand why. Another thing I did not like was the fact they seemed to try and remove any scene where the Cures are sad or tone it down unless there was no way to cut it out they even tried to make those scenes comedic as well which is just, Why? (Minor spoilers for Smile Precure) For example in the final episode of the season the girls they have to say goodbye to Candy and Pop as they have to go back to Marchland. In the original once they saw that Candy had already disapeared thats when they broke down crying.
Another thing that kind of bothered me as well as alot of other people is that the acting felt, flat at times. One of the most brought up scenes is when Majorina almost killed Nao's siblings when you compare both scenes it's just really jarring to watch. They even added voice lines that weren't in the original. I think the people handling the dub just didn't want to upset/scare kids or make their parents upset so they tried to tone down/cut the darker moments out of the show. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing but kids can still enjoy a show even if theres darker moments.
I was also told that Glitter Force was homophobic but I never really understood where that came from. Maybe I just missed it? Idk
While Pretty Cure is about friendship and teamwork Smile was trying to show kids that you shouldn't give up and that sad things happen in life. This was because the year before japan suffered a really bad earthquake/tsunami which resulted in the deaths of Thousands of people. Smile Pretty Cure was made in order to comfort people who lost their homes or their loved ones. Glitter force while theres nothing wrong with this the producers seemed to be trying to push the message of friendship, teamwork while kind of neglecting the message of not giving up hope and I've seen alot of people think it's disrespectful concidering the circumstances and what led to Smile's creation
Anyways for as much as I criticize Glitter force and Glitter Force Doki Doki I have to admit that theres a chance without it I never would have discovered Pretty Cure as early as I did. And if you look at my blog you can tell I really love this franchise. And while it's kind of sad to see it go I think it's best that the trademark can finally rest after being in limbo for so long.
Would have been interesting to see what they did with the all stars movies tho

Secrets of Lawndale - Prologue
Secrets of Lawndale
Prologue
Quinn Morgendorffer walked through the streets of Lawndale. She didn’t believe that Tiffany Blum-Deckler had thrown her out. She didn’t know why Tiffany thought she might be fat and was asking that question all the time. She turned a corner and saw her destination, Stacy Rowe’s house, half a block ahead. She was sure that they would get along better.
“So, you were supposed to stay with Sandi but she threw you out?” Elisabeth Rowe asked.
“Yes.”
“Looks like your mother is going to tell Mrs. Griffin off about it.”
“That wouldn’t be surprising,” Quinn said as she went towards the stairs.
“I'm so glad you're staying here, Quinn,” Stacy said.
“Yeah, me too,” Quinn responded.
“Don't tell anybody this, but I like you best out of everyone in the Fashion Club.”
Quinn wasn’t sure what to think about that. She supposed that Sandi wouldn’t be high on Stacy’s list for some reason. “Um, that's nice, Stacy.” She turned her attention back to the magazine. “Look at Bridgett in that slip dress.”
“Slip dress?” Stacy asked. “In fact, I'd say you're my first-best friend. And Tiffany's my second-best friend. Sandi's my third-best friend. Although sometimes Tiffany's third and Sandi's second. But you're always first.”
‘I thought so,” Quinn thought. “Um, okay, whatever.” She wanted to focus on what she was reading. At least she was trying to.
“Quinn, who do you like best?”
“Stacy! I'm trying to read this article on eyelashes.” She wasn’t sure that increasing their density was a good idea.
“Oh, right, sorry,” Stacy apologised.
She turned her attention back to the other article. “Ugh! I can't believe she's wearing it! Slip dresses are so over!”
“Yeah, slip dresses are so over,” Stacy said with a nervous giggle.
“So, Quinn, want to go to a movie?” Stacy asked, having changed into an outfit identical to Quinn’s, which she hadn’t worn yet.
“Sure. What do you want to see?” Quinn asked.
“I don't know, whatever you want to see?”
“What are you wearing?” Quinn asked nervously.
“What do you want me to wear?” Stacy asked as she grabbed some hair dye that she had bought sometime that week.
“And what's that?” Quinn asked.
“I thought we could color our hair the same shade,” Stacy answered. She didn’t expect what happened next.
“Um, I gotta go,” Quinn said, before dashing out of the room.
“Quinn?” Stacy asked before breaking down again. What had she done wrong this time? She thought Quinn would like it.
“Quinn?” Stacy’s mother asked as she dashed out.
“I’m sorry, I have to find somewhere else…” Quinn said quickly as she made herself scarce.
“Wait!”
Quinn left Stacy’s house. She didn’t know why she wanted to dye her hair the same as her, but it was a little creepy, like something out of that movie with Jennifer Jason Leigh, whatever it was called. ‘Something I’ll have to deal with at some stage,’ she thought. She looked at the storm clouds hanging over Lawndale. It was going to be a stormy night. ‘But where?’ she wondered. She wasn’t sure. Her heart raced as she considered going home. But she realised that she didn’t want to do that. She also knew that she didn’t want to deal with the rumors that staying with a guy would entail.
‘Absolutely not!’
She briefly looked at the Coultard house next door. ‘Could I stay with Anna?’ She wasn’t sure. She turned towards it as she left the Rowe’s yard. She then paused. “No,” she decided. Anna was too creepy, what with the way she smiled all the time. ‘She can’t be that happy all that time.’
“So, where?” There was still one place. The Lanes. She was sure that Jane would take her in, somehow. At least she hoped so, because she was sure that getting into a hotel would be difficult. She didn’t want to resort to that.
Her mind was still swirling as she walked along Howard Drive and approached the Lanes. The place looked unkempt. ‘I have no choice!’
Jane heard the knocking. ‘Who could that be?’ She opened the door. It was… Quinn? “What are you doing here?”
“Um, I need to use your phone,” Quinn dissembled.
Jane saw right through that. ‘What is she up to,’ she wondered. “What's wrong with your phone?” she asked.
“Nothing. Can I spend the night?”
“Are you kidding?”
“My mother says I can't stay home alone.”
Something was up. “I won't say a word. I'll even spring for the keg, but you have to pay for the dry cleaning,” Jane shot back. She was sure that she could find some money if the sarcasm went over Quinn’s head.
“It's too last-minute to throw a party.”
“Then just talk on the phone all night. Ask your friends, if they could be a nail polish, what color they would be and why,” Jane said, tiring of Quinn being there.
“I'm sick of that game.”
“You're afraid to go home,” Jane realised. She wasn’t sure why that would be. She knew that the Morgendorffer’s house was secure, and that it was a good neighborhood.
“I am not!” Quinn said, although it was clear from her voice wavering that it was a lie.
“Sorry, no vacancies.”
“All right, I'm afraid! There's mass serial puppy killers and stuff. Come on. Please?” Quinn pleaded, with an expression that showed that she wouldn’t take no for an answer.
‘Fine!’ Jane thought, deciding to allow Quinn inside. “I'm going to regret this.”
Quinn entered.
“Never mind, I already do.”
“Nonsense!” Quinn said in a confident tone.
“Come upstairs,” Jane directed.
“Of course.”
Jane sighed.
Quinn looked around at the house. It was definitely in a state of disrepair which made her feel uncomfortable. ‘Ugh!’
Jane went up the stairs.
Quinn sighed before following her. She tried not to notice that some of the bannisters were loose. ‘Why can’t they fix them?’ Were they lazy?’ That was quite likely.
The untidiness of the lower story extended to the upstairs hallway, although most of the doors were closed.
Quinn entered Jane’s room and looked around. It was interesting, but it was still as messy as the rest of the house. ‘Why don’t they look after the place?’ She wondered before saying; “You know, we could tidy this place.”
“I like it the way it is. I do use a broom once or twice a week, and vacuum twice a month,” Jane said. “I think.”
“I suppose that people could see it like this.”
“Daria doesn’t mind! Nor does Trent’s band.”
“I suppose not,” Quinn said. She thought for a moment and her eyes widened. “Wait! They come in here?”
“Sometimes,” Jane answered with a little annoyance. “We do talk.”
“Right, but if you ask someone out and they see your room like this??”
“I haven’t met anyone at school I would want to go out with who isn’t already with someone!” Jane explained with even more annoyance.
“Oh, Jane. Maybe you should try getting to know more people.”
“Really?” Jane asked before turning on her radio.
“Of course.”
“I know most of my classmates.”
“Most?” Quinn asked.
“Not including some of the new ones.”
“Oh. But…”
“They haven’t impressed me so far!” Jane said as she turned to her easel.
“I guess not,’ Quinn thought. She thought on it for a while.
Quinn was prattling on when Trent entered the room. “I have been on dates every week since we arrived in Lawndale. And so, Matthew asked me out again. I mean, he was really nice and cute and stuff but he was only two inches taller than me, “…and my entire shoe collection is based on the concept of dating guys three inches taller than me or more.” She paused briefly. “I don't get abstract art,” she said as she looked at the picture Jane was painting.
“Who wants to look at a bunch of squiggly six-eyed people when you can get those really pretty cat paintings on the shopping network? Not that I would ever waste money on art.”
“Hey, Janey. You got any money?” Trent asked.
“Money? Are you going out? I wouldn't mind going out for a while. Of course, I don't know if I'd want to go out with someone dressed like that.” She wasn’t sure why Trent was dressed that way, nor why anyone would.
“Uh, who are you?” Trent asked, perplexed.
‘He clearly doesn’t remember.’
“You remember Quinn, Daria's sister?” Jane responded to Trent’s question. ‘Of course, he’d forget her.’
“Oh, yeah. Daria's sister. Hey.”
“Excuse me, I have a name,” Quinn objected.
“Right. Daria's sister,” Trent said as he turned on the TV.
“Ugh!” Quinn said.
“You mean you want him back? Even though he tied you to a chair and left it on an eight-lane highway in the middle of rush hour?”
“He got carried away by the moment.”
“Why would she go on TV looking like that!”
Jane sighed.
Quinn from the TV. “That’s completely wrong!” she said before prattling on about something inane, and to do with fashion.
‘She needs to expand her horizons!’ Jane thought. ‘Realise that there is more than fashion and popularity. Even here in Lawndale.’
There was a lot more to Lawndale than met the eye. ‘Maybe if I show Quinn some of that, it would broaden her horizons?’ Jane thought on it more. It would be soon, she decided. She wasn’t sure how much more of Quinn she could take.
Quinn left the room to check out the kitchen. That show was the one that Daria watched when she was bored. She didn’t find much food in the fridge. “Boring!” she said as she slammed it shut. She looked through the nearby cupboards, but didn’t find anything healthy. “Ugh!” she said. “What now?” She realised that she would have to go out with either Jane or Trent for some kind of dinner. She sighed.
Quinn re-entered Jane’s room.
“What now?” Jane asked.
“There’s hardly anything in the kitchen.”
“No!”
“No?” Quinn asked.
The next day, Quinn insisted that Jane come back with her to her place.
“Why?” Jane asked.
“Could you please come?” Quinn asked with a pleading expression.
“Fine!” Jane said. She wasn’t sure why. She didn’t have to explain to Helen and Jake why their daughter was at her place instead of the Griffin’s.
“…It sounds like some kind of a sweatband, if you ask me. You know what I'd name them? Wrist ornaments. It's like a tree ornament, only for your wrist. Doesn't that sound festive?”
“Take her now!” a slightly frazzled Jane said to Daria.
“This story I've gotta hear,” Daria responded.
“Not right now!” Jane said in a tired tone.
“That’s fine,” Daria said.

Do you have recs for books that have scenes where the hero/heroine have sex or almost have sex in unusual places (ie not in a bedroom lol)
Yeah!
an incomplete list based off what I currently recall
PNR (so, basically IAD because I need to read a lot more PNR and these books have.... sex in weird locations)
A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole--hero and heroine have sex in the woods, very intense
No Rest for the Wicked by Kresley Cole--hero and heroine dry hump against his... bookshelf? I wanna say? He's a nerdpire. They also do some oral and tittyfucking on an airplane.
Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night by Kresley Cole--sex stuff throughout a jungle, special shoutout to the scene where the heroine has her maddened werewolf lover magically bound to a tree and then literally.... backs up onto his dick
Dark Desires After Dusk by Kresley Cole--at one point the hero and heroine (who are on a road trip) have an agreement wherein they stop every 400? Miles I think? And he eats her out on the hood of the car.
Kiss of a Demon King by Kresley Cole--hero ties the heroine to a tree and eats her out like... all night
Pleasure of a Dark Prince--hero and heroine have sex against a stone altar
Anyway, those are a few
Historical:
The Hawk by Monica McCarty--hero and heroine have sex in a cave? I think? But also, more importantly, they have sex on a tiny raft while on a stormy sea and the motion of the ocean makes the sex better
The Recruit by Monica McCarty--hero and heroine have a one night stand on a table in a wine cellar or something; he does leave her something to remember him by
The Duke Gets Even by Joanna Shupe--hero and hero have oral next to her dad's indoor pool lmao. The dad in this book is literally like I know y'all are fuckin all over my house it's whatever make my daughter happy I guess
The Bride Goes Rogue by Joanna Shupe--guided masturbation in a moving carriage
Uptown Girls by Joanna Shupe--sex all over New York throughout this series; I think there's pool table oral, there's carriage fellatio (very trusting of him), there's voyeurism masturbation at a brothel
Ravished by Amanda Quick--hero and heroine get stuck in a cave overnight and he's like "well shit, we're gonna have to get married after this anyway so we might as well fuck" and she's like "okay I guess"
A Rogue By Any Other Name by Sarah MacLean--fingering against the one-way glass or whatever while watching his gambling club goings-on, leads to vaginal sex
One Good Earl Deserves a Lover by Sarah MacLean--hero has the heroine masturbate in front of him in his study, I think he eats her out in a similar location?
No Good Duke Goes Unpunished by Sarah MacLean--hero eats her out in a boxing ring
Never Judge A Lady By Her Cover by Sarah MacLean--pool sex
The Rogue Not Taken by Sarah MacLean--cunnilingus in a moving carriage
A Scot in the Dark by Sarah MacLean--vaginal sex (I think?) in a moving carriage
Brazen and the Beast by Sarah MacLean--she ties him up against a ship's mast and blows him
Daring and the Duke by Sarah MacLean--cunnilingus in a garden where they pretend to not know each other (lmao they do)
I think they fuck in a closet in Bombshell (by MacLean), at one point? He definitely gets her off.
The Duke in Question by Amalie Howard--bends her over against a tree; it's her first time, but he does not know this
Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage by Jennifer Ashley--oral at the breakfast table, vaginal sex in his painting room, covered in paint (wouldn't advise in real life). I think the hero and heroine of The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie fuck in a carriage too.
How the Wallflower was Won by Eva Leigh--fellatio/vaginal sex in a carriage
Waking Up with The Duke by Lorraine Heath--he fingers her in a gazebo or something while they look at the stars, refuses her attempts to reciprocate, I cried, Ainsley is KING
Wicked in His Arms by Stacy Reid--virginity loss in a closet, after which his mom catches him running after her with them both looking freshly fucked

A Local Frame Shop Gives Space to Highlight Local Artists
Tumblr media
With gallery space at a premium these days, Sonoma artist Sig Rundstrom is grateful for the free opportunity to display some of his works as “Artist of The Month,” at Fine Line Art & Frame shop at the Sonoma Marketplace shopping center.
The idea for “Artist of the Month” was at the suggestion of Sonoma Plein Air founder Keith Wicks. “It seems a natural fit,” said Wicks. “An art supplies shop providing s bit of space to showcase local artists,” attracts people to stop by more often; it’s good for business and good for the artists.”
“Artist of The Month” is something that Fine Line has been coordinating for over a year. “It’s been working out well,” said shop manager Jack Blossom. “Sig’s work just got put up and we are happy to showcase it,” said Blossom.
Ever since the onset of COVID-19 back in 2020, Sig has been a whirlwind of artistic activity. “He’s been going almost nonstop,” said wife Charlene. “The dinning room became a makeshift extension of his studio,” she added.
Tumblr media
That was especially during the “stay-in-place” ordinance phase of the pandemic that had many people in essence being in “self-quarantine.”
As someone who had been doing art for years, the burst of creativity took Sig by surprise. “I just flowed with it,” he said. “I call it ‘Mr. Mojo,’ the energy can be almost palpable.”
With this creative energy over the past three years, Sig has been making strides like never before. He got invited to join The Arts Guild of Sonoma, a very coveted honor for artists in the Sonoma area. In addition to having his art displayed at The Arts Guild, his work appeared at Sebastopol Center for Arts, Vintage House, and the Sonoma Community Center.
In addition to several other showings besides those mentioned, just this past October he was among the first group of arts to participate in the re-establishing of ‘Art Walk Sonoma.’
While the flurry of energy as well as activity has kept Sig busy, he appreciates this particular opportunity at Fine Line because it’s “low-key.” As Blossom at Fine Line explained to the Sonoma Valley Sun. “It’s a casual thing,” he said.
“We want to help local artists and get their work seen,” added Blossom. “There is no fee of any sort,” he said. “It’s very casual. “And, with the limited amount of venues available to artists we just thought we’d like to help, said Blossom, because renting gallery space is expensive.”
Keeping it simple, Blossom noted. “There’s no committee or juried selection. It’s just me and shop owner Bob Leigh.” “We go over what the artist wishes to put up on display and it’s up for the entire month.”
Tumblr media
Having such a supportive opportunity with no stress is a joy for Sig, as he said. “I selected the paintings I wanted to display.”
Describing the works in some detail, Sig added. “The paintings I now have up at Fine Line are all done with my own unique techniques for Sgraffito (or scratchboard) as well as using gold and silver application techniques which are time consuming and messy to apply.”
Even so, Sig’s ability and skills allow him to do many different kinds of painting, be it Sgraffito, abstract, still-life, portraits and landscapes. “I like the challenge, especially of a large canvas,” he said.
Being able to utilize varied techniques and having a variety of subjects, be it canines, gardens, vineyards or the atmospheric configurations of a stormy sky, Sig is undaunted when he has his ‘Mr. Mojo’ behind him. Sig is looking forward to providing a one-day workshop at the Sonoma Community Center on January 13.
“Most of the artists we have featured so far have been members of The Arts Guild,” said Blossom. “Yet we want to help every artist, so this is open to anyone and everyone who has artistic talent and needs a spot to show their work,” he said.
“We try to help as much as we can, only we don’t do sales, he said adamantly. “Artists can coordinate that on their own.”
Interested local artists are invited to contact Jack Blossom and shop owner Bob Leigh at Fine Line Art & Frame via email at: [email protected] or call 707 935-3199.

Happy B'earthday #Sylvester

Reposted from @darkentriesrecords On September 6th, what would be Sylvester’s 76th birthday, we release Private Recordings: August 1970, an intimate collection of vintage jazz, blues, and gospel. While Sylvester is best known for his chart-topping collaborations with producer Patrick Cowley, such as “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real),” this release reveals his passion for the sounds of the 30s and 40s. In 1970 a 22-year-old Sylvester had moved to San Francisco and found himself involved with the Cockettes, the infamous psychedelic performance art troupe. Among this milieu was Peter Mintun, a pianist and record collector living in a commune devoted to retro culture. According to Mintun, "We were like hippies who lived in the twenties. We lived in a house that didn't have anything modern in it. Nothing in it was made after World War II." Mintun and Sylvester bonded over their love of Black singers of yore and were allotted a slot during Cockette performances reviving the music of the Prohibition Era. One afternoon, Sylvester and Mintun recorded a number of their shared favorites using a high-end microphone a friend had acquired. Private Recordings features 9 songs from this session, including standards like “Stormy Weather,” “Happy Days Are Here Again,” and “God Bless the Child.” Sylvester’s unmistakable falsetto brings depth and a dash of camp to these familiar tunes. The recordings are casual and intimate, even capturing banter between Sylvester and Mintun. In addition to their sonic explorations of decades past, Sylvester and Mintun also staged photographic shoots in vintage couture. Private Recordings comes with a 16-page booklet on firm cardstock featuring images from these never-before-seen shoots as well as liner notes from Mintun detailing his friendship with Sylvester. All this is housed in a metallic silver sleeve designed by Eloise Leigh @new_age_rage featuring 1920’s Art Deco aesthetic. All proceeds from Private Recordings will go to the two charities that Sylvester left his royalties after his death: @projectopenhand and @prc_sf This essential release documents the earliest known recordings from one of disco’s greatest talents. Order on bandcamp 🎹
