I've been seeing a lot of love for embarrassing teenager Dazai recently, so let me share the fantastic depiction of this scene in the stage play!

Detective Murase survives and lives through the events of Storm Bringer. He learns (most of) the truth about his brother, N, and Chuuya, and doubles down on bringing Chuuya to a world of light, feeling somewhat guilty and responsible. Chuuya finally goes along with it.

Chuuya, out of the PM but without a group to latch onto, shadows Murase during his work, and quickly faces the limitations of the system supposed to bring justice. He starts doing "vigilante" work, helping Murase "conveniently" find evidence, and acting indifferent when culprits that had to be released "mysteriously" go missing.

Murase is not stupid, but there's no stopping this overpowered teenager who's angry at the world. He needs an output, a purpose, and, well, there's this detective agency employing ability users they've been working with...

THIS one singular drawing makes me sick to my core. genuinely upset. they LOVED him. they fucking loved him with all their hearts. they were family and chuuya was a part of that and they cherished him. they loved him when he was a 16 year old with too much and too many emotions, with little to no ways to cope. loved him when he was sharp and pointy and made people bleed. they went out of their way to find something, anything, related to his past because they cared, didnt want anything in return even. and the thought that chuuya might have even the slimmest of chances to end his arc as the new PM boss bc he feels like thats what they wanted, what he owes them, is so heartwrenching and cruel. they wanted him to be happy. thats all they ever wanted for him.
