Lemme preface this by saying I once had a sobbing breakdown on a discord call because there was a cricket in my house, but the way people who have bug phobias talk on here is so annoying. No matter how nicely somebody phrases their suggestion that hey, maybe we should just consider changing the cruel and oddly moralizing way we regard innocent creatures, someone with an incredibly common-level bug phobia will come crying and sobbing about how they can't even begin to imagine changing their behavior or trying to work on their fear responses, and that OP is being so insensitive to people with extreme phobias. Like, all offense but grow up lmao 🐜

i think the main thing that gets me with class analysis of izzy is that even if his resentment of stede's softness is because of cool righteous Eat The Rich reasons, he still did call in a SWAT team on a ship full of queer people and POC and queer POC because he wanted stede to die. and in e9 when he was put in charge he was instantly lording his power over everyone and throwing his weight around and having a lot of fun doing it.

what im saying is that izzy has no sense of class solidarity and is only looking out for himself. and that kind of makes me less inclined to have more grace for how harshly he judges stede and lucius for their softness.

Thought: Since the executions were the inciting incident for all of this, wouldn't stopping the executions "save Charlie's people" without needing to redeem sinners? I love Charlie's gung-ho attitude and drive to fulfill her dream, but it feels like she overlooked an obvious solution in favor of (literally) shooting for the celestial heavens.

Finwe knew he couldnt win against Morgoth, but he could try and protect his grandchildren. He fought regardless.

Fingolfin knew he couldnt twin against Morgoth in 1-on-1. He fought regardless.

Finrod knew he would die on his quest for Beren, and still fought the wolf to save his friend. He did.

Celebrimbor knew he could protect others by dying, protecting the knowledge about the rings. He did.

It stands to reason that Elladan, Elrohir or Arwen, would have come upon a similar fate.
