How American sanctions against Ukraine work
Yesterday, many entrepreneurs with Ukrainian passports who own American companies and use the services of the bank “Mercury” received a letter with approximately the following content:
“In connection with the recent changes, we stop supporting the accounts of companies whose founders have passports of these countries: Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, Ukraine, Venezuela”.
For any business, switching banks is a major operational challenge and pain.
Therefore, this trend is very frightening, because it is definitely not the kind of “support” you expect from partners who know that Ukraine is fighting an aggressor for the third year in a row.
Also, many notice that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, many American and European sites block traffic from Ukraine, and you can only access them through a VPN. I was told about the situation regarding the TNW conference, with Ukrainian flag and “We Stand With Ukraine” banner on their website: it was not possible to buy tickets from Ukraine, simply without explanation: block. There are many other stories, including the difficulty of sending currency to Ukraine.
The situation is critical, because without publicity, help and lobbying, we risk losing the opportunity to work normally on the global market.

Oh my god that twitter thief had the audacity to tag peter paige with MY gifset that I made to celebrate emmett's character to wish him a happy birthday... I'm-
Also not only has this person stolen my gifs but they've literally stolen MY WORDS.
My tags and captions which are all my own thoughts and feelings they are shamelessly posting alongside MY GIFS as normal tweets. Clearly they are so empty headed to even have an original thought of their own, coasting by stealing other people's work.
I'm positive whoever they are is here on tumblr because you've stolen things I've made from a year or two ago, so you've been through my blog. If you're reading this i'm so fucking enraged that you would not only take my gifs but to act like those are your words, there's not enough FUCK YOU'S I can give.
I'm seriously wondering if I want to bother after this because that's really pissed me off, how dare you act as if those are your things to take and post. I might need to take a break guys.

WAIT WHERES MIM?!?! PLEASE TELL ME YOU’LL RELEASE THAT ONE AGAIN PLEASE
I need you guys to understand that the reason I took down my stuff was for my own peace of mind because they're my stories and i started feeling unsafe having them out because of how they - and I - were being treated.
absolutely nothing is wrong with mim and I love that fic and I care so much about it which is why - for my peace of mind - i want it to belong to only me rn. I know the fic was only out a month after i finished it and that really upsets me about taking it down. i want to reupload it because i know people like the fic and i love sharing my stuff but also there's that level of how much the fic matters to me and how much more devastating it makes it when people are cruel. and how much it hurts when I, as the creator of something, am treated like I don't matter at all and that my stuff can so easily be stolen or copied. like, it's an extension of me, yknow? You can't separate content and creator in such a small and intimate sphere as fandom. like, you guys all use my first name when referring to me, yknow?? there's that sense of connection. and since it's such an intimate space, having that trust be betrayed or disrespected is so much more potent than if we were in a large fandom with a lot of creators.
the fear of having MiM copied is really immense and real for me rn and i know that's potentially me being overly paranoid but considering the Amount of times this has started to happen - and how blatantly rude and nasty and entitled readers have been getting with me and other creators over the last year - it's definitely not out of the realm of possibility.
MiM wasn't written for readers, it was written for me. and i shared it because i wanted to and that was wonderful. but to have any of my stuff stepped on so much just doesn't make me feel very safe in this fandom space rn and makes it hard to let people have access to something that matters so much to me.
I'm not saying MiM has been deleted forever, I'm just saying i want some more time for it to be mine.

Oh man I am so far gone, I would absolutely not have questioned this. Hold me down by my weak little bee wings! Repopulate the hive!
83% chance I would click on a fic with this description.

Creators’ obsession with being verified has always puzzled me. Like, internet slander is gonna happen whether you have that little check mark or not. It actually doesn’t matter!
I wanna make this clear, people who use others’ pics to catfish or play copycat will rot in Hell! 🖕

Concerning the Twitter crash and burn, there's legit people encouraging others not to engage with creators trying to promote things so that Tumblr doesn't become commercialized, and I have to make something very clear:
A small creator who is encouraging people to interact with/share their stuff, trying to make their art/writing/etc known because they want a livable wage when they have NOWHERE ELSE they can turn to anymore and are trying to succeed in an internet that makes it near impossible for them is -never- gonna be the same thing as a celebrity shoving adds into your face to buy their newest clothing brand.
Don't encourage capitalism but do encourage the artists and writers that provide you most of their content for FREE and just want to pay bills like anyone else and already deal with being buried in the algorithm or having their art stolen and reposted.
We don't want adds or for this site to be monetized either, I assure you.
