Also how should I tag this stuff? X child reader feels a bit wrong, but is technically correct? I've seen x platonic. Idk. Currently tagging with x child reader & simply "Stobotnik child", so follow that for more thoughts ig. Anyways.

Robotnik *can* cook, but he's a busy man. And Stone likes having you in the kitchen as a helper + taste tester.

Very experimental; even tho Ivo's very particular, he wants you to have a broad pallet.

Sometimes, Robotnik bakes. Pastries, even, because it's about precision. And he likes showing off. Also likes having you taste test, even if it's just for his ego. (And maybe he likes knowing he can make you happy idk)

Stone would 100% be a house husband if he wasn't contracted as a personal assistant. Man is 100% DEVOTED to Robotnik, and you by proxy. He doesn't mind cleaning, cooking, taking care of y'all, as long as he can stay close.

Meanwhile, Robotnik would be a house husband just so he could stay in the garage and invent. IF he wasn't already so devoted to fieldwork.

Neither is great with bedtime stories, but they both try. Stone wants you to have a normal-ish childhood, and Robotnik wants what's best for you. They review anything before they buy it, so it ends up being, like

Stone - "This one looks cute! Talking animals, life lessons."

Robotnik, flipping through it - "Childhood language development comes from hearing a wide, complex vocabulary. This is.. quite lacking."

Stone - "It says 'for beginner readers."

Robotnik - "Fine. We'll need something more complex just to read to them."

They can spend legit HOURS looking for something they both approve of. Not because anything's inappropriate, or because they disagree.

Robotnik's taking those parenting books and mommy blogs to HEART when it comes to your education.

Stone is there to ensure everything is still fun.

Robotnik's tendency to grab Stone's face, invade his personal space and mockingly hit him was learned from Gerald's treatment of him. Maybe he learned that this behaviour was how His old man showed love? So he replicates this to show affection as well.

19: “You know, in 8 years you’ll be writing fanfics about Eggman having a boyfriend.”

19: “N-no. But he should! Hence, I—you…we write stories with him having one.”

These boys are my everything and this AU lives in my head rent free. Just found out the creator not only made "Hook, Line, & Fishtails" but also "Metal & Stone", "Baby Don't Go", AND "I Won't Cry For You". I cried reading the par one but that may be just me being a big cry baby all the time.

Why are they crying? Because I'm dramatic. Why so Stone's tears show in the water? Because, as an artist, I'm God and can make up the laws of physics.

First time drawing a mermaid or underwater stuff so I think was pretty good! Go check out the artist who made this whole AU, it's super cool!

the barrista at my work was kind enough to make me three lattes with the goat milk i brought her this morning, and i no longer have to wonder wtf robotnik's coffee order tastes like. with no flavoring, it's not bad, but the feta-y top note is very apparent. pumpkin spice of course completely overwhelmes it with sugar and negates the purpose of using strange milk. but if you steam it with cinnamon and add a little caramel syrup, it's practically perfect in every way. subtle umami flavor that would 100% keep me from murdering an assistant, 10/10

-In the one where he comes back and the baby's already there, Eggman does a terrible job as a father the few first months, but then he gets the hang of it and it's not so bad.

-In the one where they wait for her together, he does all the research necessary in all those months, absolutely refusing in doing an average job in that matter, he's the great Ivo Robotnik c'mon. He excels at anything and he'll be a great father (jk he's terrified of fucking up).

-The Stobotnik family is an evil but loving family, like the bears in Puss in Boots whwh criminal family✨

-For the funny of it, Sonic and Eggman got a sort of relationship like in Sonic Boom, so sometime maybe our favorite boy, Tails and Knuckles had to look after their child.

-Also since Knuckles broke Stone's and Robotnik's hands with their handshake, let's have him handle the baby with the most careful grip ever, just to demonstrate that he didn't have to grab their hands that hard aksdjask

-She's a big fan of Sonic and friends (Sonic the Hedgehog, not Sonic Wachowski, the second guy hadn't done even half the things she admires him for, but no one has the heart to tell her when she's a kid). Has a bunch of merch and all the comics of Sonic the Hedgehog.

>When she's a teenager she proudly uses her Sonic backpack in the same way Deadpool uses his Hello Kitty backpack.

-BTW Sonic, Knuckles and Tails are all brothers and Maddie and Tom's kids bc that's the best idea ever made.

-ALSO I'm definitely gonna draw that scene where Knuckles was about to put the baby in the blender and Sonic shouts THE CHILI DOG NOT THE BABY. Some day, you'll see pipipi.

-SAGE was created for various reasons, to be her sister (since she wouldn't stop asking for one but neither Stone nor Robotnik were willing in raising another human kid, thanks very much), to protect her, and also to answer the tedious "why?" questions that neither father had the patience for (A+ parenting right there). Maybe she was used for the original purpose too idk (I don't know that sonic game where she debuts).

-On her early months she was called Pebble, because she really was a mini Stone, Robotnik went along with it (bc he also looked at her and only saw his husband whw) until she was a little older and they started calling her by her name.

>Alternatively, since Eggman was gone, Stone waited for him to return in hopes of choosing together a name for their child, and Pebble worked as a placeholder since she was just a bebi.

-She's a spoiled kid and also a little menace, unintentionally evil, she can't help it.

-Robotnik calls himself 'daddy' way too much in the live-action movies to ignore it, so he's daddy and Stone's dad (dada when she was younger).

-She has Robotnik's eyes but as big as Stone's. They're the lethal-est sad puppy eyes ever (they work wonders on both parents and other people) (both men got beautiful dark brown eyes with visible eyelashes fight me).

-She's the five-year-old that made Sonic fear them because 'they can be so cruel when they sense weakness' (she was brutally honest as any young kid is).

-Stone and Robotnik got Gomez and Morticia Addams kinda parenting. They see their child beating up someone and they're like:

"What did we do wrong?" (Stone while shaking his head in disappointment) "I know... she lacks resourcefulness." (Eggman) "Exactly, there's her baseball bat right there, why doesn't she use it?"

-Remember that Shadow said in a game that he wouldn't mind taking a candy from a baby? (fandub I think but still) This comes in handy when neither Tails, Sonic or Knuckles want to upset the kid (so Shadow does it instead).

-She plays sports too because she got too much energy. In each of them she loses her patience. She grabs the football and hauls it at the nearest team member, she throws her baseball bat to the ground and starts beating up whoever threw the ball that she missed, she stomps in frustration if she loses, she's great at dodgeball (sends her classmates to the infirmary).

-Throws tantrums and stuff and overall's an annoying kid if she's upset. Eggman's like UGH WHY'S SHE LIKE THIS?? and Stone's like Because of you, doctor (terrible temperament runs in the family and also Robotnik just spoiled her too much).

-I'm kinda dressing her up in the clothes that existed in my mind that supposedly Eggman wore (the weird dress-like jacket with the big zipper in the middle). Under her jacket there's a dress in the same pattern as the original Eggman's clothes, also she wears a baby onesie like that too.

-When she's older she's definitely proud of her fathers, but she doesn't appreciate the rumors that she's prone to go power-crazy like Robotnik did. Especially because it may be true, but what do they know.

-For the irony, she can't stand drinking coffee, but loves the smell of it because it reminds her of home (omg).

-THEY HAVE A PET CAT like I read in some fics and her name is Robot and she's a lil shit and also grumpy like Robotnik.

>Maybe she brings her alive mice to experiment on all sort of stuff (like Pávlov and his dogs and the guy Skinner with his mice and cats (??))

-She gets to hang out with Sonic and friends under the condition of annoying him as much as possible. So, she complies. (She loves Sonic the Hedgehog, but she loves making her fathers happy more).

-Very smart kid but not to the level of Tails or Robotnik at that age, she's just got very good memory and learning skills and knows a lot of stuff ever since she was a little kid. More like a Matilda-kinda intelligence.

-She's a scientist when she grows up too but the kind that makes evil potions and serums and stuff aksjdk probably (chemistry things? biochem idk). She can make silly little robots for the fun of it but it's not her passion, unlike Robotnik and Stone's. PROBABLY. I'm still deciding.

-BTW LOOK (it says 'carefully crafted ploy to distract space porcupines')

i’ve seen sonic three a few times now and my favorite stone scene by far will always be this one. the quality is poor since i screen recorded it so long ago but stone’s distraught tone ?? him just standing in shock for a few seconds by not only robotnik’s dismissal but also just the utter loss of the world he helped to build crumbling around him ?? Sonic 3 Movie Thoughts

spoilers below

the opening with shadow escaping prison was very cool, good way of introducing shadow and setting the tone of the movie (although I feel like it kinda contradicts the sonic 2 post credit scene where GUN finds out shadow is still alive)

the chaos garden scene was cute, ig it means we're not getting actual chao in the movies tho lmao

they did a pretty good job setting up shadow and maria's friendship, made his anger believable

shadow is not a creation of gerald but an alien that crashed on earth in a meteorite, I know some people might be upset by this but if it's a way to set up black doom I'm down

the workaround for maria's death isn't bad, the soldiers were still about to shoot her and that's probably the best way they could have a child die in a pg movie

having the olive garden guy be that remorseful feels a little weird when he's the one who froze shadow, but ig he's had time to stew it over

I'm still not 100% sold on keanu as shadow, I honestly kinda wanted hayden christensen to do it but keanu's decent as shadow

I genuinely wasn't sure if they actually killed off tom or not, I was kinda into it but if he was actually dead it would have made it harder to redeem shadow and make the ending a little too depressing, so I get why they didn't. I do wish he was in a wheelchair or something at the end tho lmao.

tails and knuckles were actually useful to the story which made me happy, makes me wonder if having rogue would have been too many characters to juggle or not

my only real nitpick with the movie is gerald. I was hesitant when I found out that he was going to be alive and working with ivo, but now that I've thought about it more, it is a good way to have an antagonistic force for the story if shadow isn't released by eggman and the biolizard isn't a thing. I have two problems with him tho:

a: they don't make it clear if he's been driven mad by grief or if he was always evil. the "you're no maria" line implies he genuinely loved her and is being driven by grief, but the way he acts kinda just makes it feel like he was always like that. ig it fits with the theme of grief changing you, with gerald becoming so bitter over the death of maria that he views his surviving grandchild as disposable, but I wish they showed more of him interacting with maria to show how much he changed after her death

b: he's too goofy. I know it's jim carrey but they could've toned it down a little, especially in the climax. it would have been super chilling if he dropped the goofiness after revealing his true plan, as it is it feels super jarring to go back to slapstick afterwards. also his death/defeat is way too silly, and ivo is too nonchalant about killing his last family member

jim carrey eggman is starting to wear out his welcome for me, I still liked him in this movie but I'm kinda hoping that this his last appearance, especially with how gerald was handled. I totally understand people who are sick of him at this point and mad that we kinda didn't get rouge because of him. rip stobotnik tho :/

AMYYYYYY AND METAL SONIC POST CREDIT SCENE

I've heard people say that sonic 4 might be a time travel plot, and if it involves amy and metal that would also make it somewhat of a sonic cd adaptation which I'm all for

I'm gonna be sad if that credit scene is all we're getting of metal sonic in the movies tho

HELLO i fucking LOVE ur stobotnik and their kid series!!! its what initially got me to watching the movies and into the sonic franchise as a whole!!! can i request a stobotnik and their kid whos sort of like maria.... like they genuinely love the world and humanity despite (ahem) everything Ivo says. Maybe add in a sprinkle of shadow who sees reader and is taken aback by how similar they are to maria, and now stone + ivo has to deal with their kid having a new guard dog/brother HDSHSDH love ur writing, hope u have a good day!!

"No, it's far safer for you if you stay by his or Papa Stone's side. Or in the lab. The lab is VERY safe, you know. Well idiot proofed"

Not that he's calling his baby an idiot, of course -

Baba Aban, however, seems to understand you.

Of course he respects Papa's wishes, keeps you close when you do go out, but he tries to sate your interest in humanity best he can.

Always open to questions, and will try to answer everything as age-appropriately as possible.

"What does Papa do all day?"

"He builds things for the government."

"Why?"

"Because it pays well enough to raise you and keeps him busy."

"Why doesn't Papa like other people?"

He.. doesn't have an answer for that one. Not really.

"Just because" sounds too shallow, and "Because people can be horrible" is almost worse.

"To keep you safe."

It's not a lie, but it's not the truth, and the way you huff lets him know you're onto him.

Lets Ivo know before you two are finished with errands, in case you bombard the older man with questions next

They both try and keep you entertained in their own ways

Papa Ivo tries to keep you interested in his machines, how they can be used to better your life

Baba Aban takes you out for errands and helps teach you in the kitchen

Life is as balanced as it can be, considering your solitude growing up

Both dads help you set up a little greenhouse in the traveling lab

SO since we don't yet know how Shadow calmed tf down in the movie, bare with me here.

After the events of Movie 2 and then the unearthing of Project Shadow, you and your dads are living in the Crabmeat base deep in the Pacific

You and Baba Aban still surface occasionally for groceries and supplies, while Papa Ivo throws himself into his work to distract himself from his latest defeat.

During one surface visit, looking around the Seattle streets while on the back of Baba Aban's motorcycle, you see a strangely familiar figure on a similar vehicle.

You tug on your das's sleeve before gearuring toward the hedgehog

"Baba.. that's not Sonic, is it?"

He looks, does a double take

"Uh.. no."

He's stopping near the same lot the two of you are, and Baba instructs you to message Papa

"Found another alien hedgehog, will update"

He seems wary when the two of you approach, glancing between you as Aban steps closer, an arm in front of your chest to keep you back behind him

"Who are you?"

The hedgehog glares, and you slink just a bit closer to see him

"I am the ultimate life form."

"Decided by who?"

"That's none of your concern."

The two are almost circling one another now, Baba keeping you behind him, even if just barely

"It's my concern if you're here to.. to destroy humanity, or whatever."

You eye him from behind your dad, but he just huffs a laugh

"Destroy? I was created to preserve your human lives."

Your eyes widen again, catching his own before he glanced back towards your Baba

"Is that a problem?"

You tug at Aban's sleeve again, and he slows his movement, letting you peek out more from behind him

"No.. I don't suppose it is."

You finally slip out from behind him, smiling, and Shadow is hit, mentally, with the image of Maria, smile - the same energy as your own

A certain kind of sad loneliness, with an undertone of care

He doesn't know why he thinks of it that way

All he knows is that it feels like home again

The two of you see each other a few times after that, while out on errands with Baba

Papa wants to meet him - of course - but doesn't want another Knuckles situation

(He's very glad that the echidna didn't try and go after you for revenge - after the emerald was taken away, he wasn't sure he could have saved you)

So he lets you - and Stone - approach him on the surface

Not that you know explicitly that you're helping.

Neither of your dad's know about Maria - at least not explicitly - and Shadow still hasn't voiced why he's so attached to you

He finds himself following you whenever he sees you on earth

Of course you're with Baba every time, kept at arms length from Shadow, but he keeps coming back

Papa allows it because he hasn't made any threats

Baba allows it because he seems genuinely friendly

And doesn't seem to recognize him

Finally - FINALLY - Papa asks Baba to help bring him to the base

Respectfully, if possible. He wants to keep the peace, even if it's just for your sake

You get to be the lucky one to invite Shadow to the base

You smile when you ask if he'd like to come, and all he can see is Maria inviting him to see a new breakthrough from her grandfather

He says yes

Immediately

Your smile gets wider

"This is the first time I've invited a friend home!"

His poor, walled-off heart cracks just a little, and he gives Stone a Look™

Baba just glanced away before offering him a ride in a (rented) car

The two of you sit in the back, just talking to each other, while Stone contemplated how he got to driving one of the aliens.

To his home.

With his child in the backseat next to said alien.

As long as you're happy, and Ivo's happy, then he's sure he'll be fine

Shadow is still vague with answers around his past - every time you try and engage him about family, friends, childhood, home - he thinks of Maria

He still tries to answer you - he grew up in space, with his best friend and her grandfather.

She was.. sick. Very sick. And she died.

Conveniently leaving GUN out of the convo.

He sees the sadness you have for him - the same Maria held when she told him to go - and decides that he'll make space for himself in your life

If you let him.

ONLY if you let him.

The three of you make it back to crabmeat safely, and both of your dads hover, but let you interact how you want

Shadow sees a lot of Gerald in your Papa, but won't say anything.

He can't

Not yet, at least

He ends up staying the night, nested on your floor next to your own little fort, facing the door even in his sleep

Ivo tolerates it, if barely

He brought the hedgehog here to study, not to befriend his baby

"What if he has.. space rabies?!"

Stone just rolls his eyes as he shuts your door most the way, alarm systems all in place for the night

"This is the first time they've had a friend over, Ivo. We'll know if something goes wrong - just let them have this."

"This" turned into "a live-in best friend" rather quickly, to both parents' surprise (and your absolute delight)

Eventually, he caves.

He starts answering questions truthfully, the pain still rather fresh in his mind

He tells you about Maria, about GUN, about his purpose and pain

And you're there to comfort him

He's not graphic, and you don't push, and he appreciates it more than he'll voice, even to you

He figures that as long as you're willing to be there and listen, he'll be there to keep you safe company

Both dads are.. annoyed

Ivo thinks this new hedgehog is overbearing - always at your shoulder, keeping you company when he's supposed to be, never seeming to let you out of his sight

Stone thinks he's up to something, the way he lingers between streets when you're out, watching from the shadows (ha)

In reality, he's just trying to keep you safe

Your dads seem to figure that out when one of Ivo's ridiculous predictions comes true - you wander just a bit too far from Baba to look at some UV lights for your plants on Crabmeat, and someone grabs your arm as they walk past, jostling you enough that you yelp

Shadow is there in half a second, sending the aggressor to the floor before tugging on your hand, coaxing you down so he can look at the bruise forming on your bicep

Baba Aban is there a second later, lowering himself and helping Shadow turn your arm before helping you back up

"We should leave."

The three of you are silent until halfway back to the base, when Baba tilts the rearview to look at Shadow while he's druving

"Shadow.."

"What?"

He always glares when he talks to anyone besides you. Typically toward the floor or their chests, but right now he's looking your Baba in the eyes through the mirror, watching your father's gaze soften

Stone couldn't hide his excitement when Robotnik entered the cafe. He looked different than before, but actually he didn't care at all. The only thing that mattered to him at that moment was that his doctor was back. And he looked cheerful, this was  rare for someone like Robotnik.

"Papa's got a brand new 'stache!" he said in a cheerful tone. Actually he was glad to see his agent again, but it hadn't been a minute since he'd seen him and he didn't want to show too much emotion. So he had to keep his mind and face steady at that moment.

"I knew it. I knew you come back, sir. I never stopped streaming your Austrian goat's milk." Stone said. His voice was filled with longing.

He walked towards the doctor with the latte he had prepared for him. His eyes sparkled as he handed him the latte. The depressive mood he had been feeling for months had given way to excitement and happiness.

The same was true for Robotnik. Even though he didn't show his feelings, he liked Stone to be around him, to feel his presence and to talk about his ideas. He really cared about him, but he didn't want to admit it. Even to himself.

Picking up the cup in his hand, he immediately noticed the art on it and took a big sip of his latte to hide his smile. He really missed the taste of Stone's latte. He hummed lightly with satisfaction. Still, he decided to tease him a little.

After introducing him to Knuckles and all, he wasted no time back in search of Sonic. Agent Stone had left to prepare the doctor something to eat, and Robotnik remained with Knuckles, but actually couldn't stand him. He found Knuckles utterly annoying, but he also needed him to locate the master emerald. So he had to stay silent while the research was being done.

After a while, he couldn't stand any longer Knuckles' reading aloud everything he saw, like a child learning to read, and he went over to Stone.

When Robotnik entered the kitchen in the back of the new base, he approached Stone quietly, he tried to hide his smirk behind his glorious mustache. Stone was mumbling a song and prepare something to eat for Robotnik and himself. "That's the song you turned off when I came in, right?" he asked.

This sneaking up frightened Stone and he dropped the knife in his hand. Robotnik had caught the knife before it fell to the ground and left it on the counter. At that brief moment, their bodies were so close to each other that they almost touched.

"I'm so sorry, doctor. Are you hurt or something?" Stone asked worriedly.

"No. And I'm still waiting for your answer..."

"Uh... yes. That song, sir." said Stone nervously. His heart felt like it was going to burst and it was as if he could hear his own heartbeat.

Robotnik was looking right into his eyes, and he moved a little closer to him and started singing the lyrics to the song. "Me and you... It's real... I love the way you make me feel..."

After a few seconds of silence, he placed one hand on Stone's back and pulled him to himself. Their eyes were locked on each other and neither of them looked away. Bowing slightly to him, he pressed his lips against Stone's. Robotnik's tongue was roaming inside Stone's mouth, as if trying to locate it. The fire burning in both of them fueled each other, reflecting the feelings expressed with longing to their kisses.

Robotnik backed away slowly as he bit Stone's lower lip, smirking. He had liked the look of surprise on Stone's face.

"I don't wanna admit it but I've missed you, Stone." he said and took the plate from the counter. "Aaand we won't talk about it until death." he added and walked away.

Stone was too stunned to speak and couldn't shake his surprise for a while. Today must've been the best day of his life. He licked his lip as he grinned widely. It was as if his heart couldn't fit in his chest at that moment. He wanted to share his happiness with someone. With someone other than Robotnik. Maybe a badnik...

He didn't know and couldn't think straight anyway. On his way out of the kitchen, he encountered with the doctor on the door frame. Neither of them expected to see each other at that brief moment. "Oh!.. Stone, keep up the latte arts."

"You can be sure, doctor." Stone said and he didn't try to hide his smirk. And then, he had turned immediately to prepare a fresh latte with the two of them on it.
