My Engineer... Such an Interesting Watch Every Time... **SPOILERS**
I just started rewatching My Engineer today, and I realized I've never talked about it on this blog despite it actually being one of my comfort shows.
Now, I have an interesting opinion about the show as a whole... that being that I actually hate the main couple. Every now and then, I will try to convince myself to watch their scenes, and this was one of these times, but I can barely even get past the first episode without skipping scenes. I find their relationship very weird from the beginning. And I do not like Bohn at all. Their relationship throughout the show does nothing but annoy me as they are so childish and dramatic for no reason.
Now, you may be asking how it's one of my comfort shows if I dislike the main couple so much... and it's purely because of everyone else. The whole supporting cast of characters are so likable to me that I am fine to skip over any BohnDuen scenes just to watch the other two couples and the friend groups (other than Duen's in ep8...)!
I know most people came out of the show begging on their knees for more RamKing... and don't get me wrong I absolutely adore them, King is actually my second favorite character! But I am actually one the few who fell head over heels for MekBoss, despite Mek's awkward dubbing! I find their relationship is just the right amount of bittersweet and they are both such sweethearts that I just can't help but love them! Plus the actors' chemistry is very good! I remember being so annoyed when watching for the first time because Boss is my favorite character but all the people, or really more-so the random strangers, in the show (and even some of the audience) treated him so badly. Like calling him ugly non-stop and annoying, even though he was such a sweetie! Yeah, a bit of a flirt, but idk something about him just grabbed me! (I do actually think it may have to do with how similar he is to Can from LBC, who was my first favorite character from a Thai show from the first ever Thai show I watched, but idk bc I feel like he would've been my favorite anyways).
This show has always been so controversial, and it definitely would not still hold up as well if it came out today... but I think it's still a fun watch and watching MekBoss or RamKing moments will always lift my mood! And yes, I am adding this to the post bc I mistakenly looked at the MDL comments... people are so negative sometimes 😅... The only issues I had with this show was mainly BohnDuen-related and sometimes TharaFrong-related (just found them kinda forced & boring). But, I will say I am someone who is not afraid to skip around in a show if I'm not enjoying certain characters so 🤷♀️.
Anyways, all of this to say that My Engineer is definitely one of the BLs that is in a strange spot in my heart, as I can only watch it and really enjoy it when I'm skipping a huge portion every time, but still feel the want to rewatch it for the side couples! Crazy! MekBoss and RamKing will forever be the saving graces of My Engineer! 🙂↕️
#still salty we never got a s2#even if Mek/Ryan couldn't be in it (which don't get me started on that whole mess) i really wish RamKing could've continued their story :(#my engineer#my engineer the series#mekboss#ramking#thai bl#thai series#thai dramas#thai drama#asian lgbtq dramas#lay talay#perth nakhun#ryan peng#inntouch naphat#jay's saying stuff :)#jay's talking BLs ;)

A rough outline to rewrite S4
We didn't need a big apocalypse. We needed the umbrellas to symbolically overcome their childhood abuse.
We begin...
A few months post-reset. Nobody remembers the Umbrella and Sparrow Academies. This Universe kinda sucks too: Reggie's monopoly on everything has created some serious wealth inequality and social issues. The family are all kinda screwin' around, finding their feet to varying degrees of success.
Luther's tirelessly looking for Sloane
Diego and Lila are preparing for parenthood, both freaking out but excited over it. Diego is very protective. Cute, but suffocating.
Allison's got everything she ever wanted, but it still feels hollow and (surprise) she still has her powers and is still abusing them to get what she wants. Her and Ray are on the rocks because he's now a social-justice advocate, and Allison doesn't want to rock the boat with Reginald.
Klaus is loving life. Addiction's easier to battle with no ghosties to blot out. Being mortal sucks but he only found out about it a few days ago anyway so it doesn't change much.
Five is stuck in juvie getting mandated therapy, gets diagnosed with PTSD and, against his will, starts to work on feelings of anger towards his siblings for their lack of appreciation. (Hmm sounds familiar...I actually have a fic....)
Viktor, loyal to Luther, is trying to help him find Sloane and is sort of taking the lead role on it because Luther's struggling.
Ben starts off being a selfish asshole, but it all feels empty and lonely, so he semi-reluctantly joins Luther and Viktor trying to find Sloane, his only sister.
Essentially, everyone's setting themselves up to have satisfying character arcs that resolve the shit brought up in previous seasons.
MEANWHILE
We discover that, because Reggie was interrupted resetting the universe, it's all kinda fragile.
At different rates, the Umbrellas slowly start to gain back their powers. It turns out they lost them temporarily after Reginald used their marigold to power the reset machine, but it's effectively bound to their DNA, so it regenerates within them just like any other cell would, (explaining why Viktor removing it from Harlan didn't work in S2). And then we discover that Reggie's autocracy and constructed happiness with Abigail is contingent on continually maintaining a 'hole' in the universe left after the incomplete reset. He needs a Marigold battery on hand to try and plug the gap. And we discover Sloane, memories wiped and constantly hooked up to a machine that sucks out her Marigold as quick as she can regenerate it, (and Reginald has his eye on them all as potential backups).
So...
The band gets back together! Time to rescue Sloane and defeat their Dad!
Ben is PUMPED, starting to realise that maybe the Umbrellas are family too.
Luther goes hulk for love.
Diego is terrified Lila will get hurt and wants to effectively lock her up in a closet again like in S3, but he learns he can't do that, and Lila kicks ass while super pregnant.
Five initially refuses because he's salty they left him in juvie and is sick of them undervaluing him but eventually gets his shit together and rides in at a crucial point to save the day. He finally gets a fucking hug.
Allison feels guilt, and anger at Reginald. The way he's exploiting people is nakedly obvious now, and she finally joins Ray in the fight
Viktor's leading the charge. He's unashamedly the leader and the rest are looking to him for guidance.
Klaus is suffering again. The ghosts and immortality is back, and meanwhile the little girl in the void is being super cryptic and annoying, making veiled foreshadowing comments every time he ends up in the void, but she does reveal that she is why he is immortal begin with. It was never his power, it was her sending him back every time.
And...
We have a showdown with ass-kicking and Reginald screaming that they're dumb kids who don't know what they're messing with, but screw him! And when they're confronted with Reginald's hole (heh heh), everything the little girl in the void said becomes clear to Klaus. He has to touch Reginald's hole (never gets old) with his powers activated to act as a conduit for the girl, the creator of the universe. This will allow her to fix the universe back to her original design without all Reginald's tampering. Klaus is the connection between the world and the void and, powered by his Marigold, she can use his memories to put it all right. It's a Deus ex machina.
The only problem is, he will die in the attempt. This is the 'use' she told him she had for him in one of the previous seasons, (or maybe that was the comics?). Klaus realises that this might actually be his one opportunity to die. The alternative is to live forever, never fully reuniting with Dave and watching his family die off one by one. So he does it. He fingers Reginald's hole, (harshly, with no prep). Klaus makes a heroic, Christ-like sacrifice and boom, the reset completes. We are effectively in the first timeline, in the Academy courtyard with no apocalypse on the horizon. Reggie is dead, all most of the symptoms of his autocracy are gone. All is well, except our heroes are just sad. Klaus fixed it, but now they've lost their glue.
But...
Klaus awakes in the void, happy and at peace. Dave is there, and the reunite, but it's clear he's sad about what happened. The little girl is there too, and she offers Klaus one last go at mortal life, because she finds him kind of annoying to have around anyway.
Klaus agrees, saying goodbye to Dave until they meet again, and then he falls out of the sky and lands with a smack in the courtyard. He explains, and many Jesus jokes are made.
After the revelry is over, there's a moment where the siblings go: "Huh, what now?" as they realise they still have a lot of their old problems and a lot of inner work to do.
And then Lila goes into labour. We finish on a birth montage. Everyone holds the baby, tears are shed and they end the series together. Not perfectly happy and still dysfunctional, but at least they have the chance to get better now.

Stan X Reader S2 Pt. 8
Warning: N/A
Background: You, Stan, and Kyle pick Sara up from daycare
Status: Ongoing
Previous part
Next part
'Pick ups and unloads'
It was a long emotional chat as you laid out your plan to him. You don't even know exactly how long you were in there for you just know it was long enough for Stan's hair to completely dry and for your alarm to pick Sarah to go off. When you pulled out your phone, you realized you had just let go of Stan's hand. You hadn't even noticed you were still holding it.
"S-sorry. I um gotta go get Sarah. She gets out of daycare soon." You said turning off your alarm and turning back to him.
"Let me get dressed." He said standing up and walking over to a suitcase on the floor. "I'm coming with."
"N-no you don't have to. I um don't want to bother you." The words felt bitter in your mouth but you couldn't stop them from coming out.
"Y/N, please. Just let me prove to you I'm in this. I am going to be here for her and for you please just let me prove it." He said as a knock on the door filled the air.
"Hey, no rush but we gotta go get Sarah," Kyle said on the other side.
"Y-yeah just-"
"We'll be right there." Stan finished and before he would let you speak he threw his bathrobe on the floor and changed into his clothes so quick you didn't even catch a hint of skin before you looked away.
You stood there awkwardly, quickly averting your eyes to the ceiling. You heard Stan moving around as he slipped on his clothes and the devil on your shoulder practically begged you to sneak a peak. You hadn't seen Stan unclothed for almost five years and it was definitely become clear to you just how long you've been single.
Stan's traveled to every corner of the world by now and you haven't even left the state. He's seen women in every shape and color and for the millionth time in the last four years, you felt like you weren't enough for him.
"Ceiling can't be that interesting." He muttered making your cheeks heat up.
"I'm just giving you some privacy. You're the one that started stripping in front of me." You said trying to keep your voice as steady as possible.
"And if I had a problem with you looking, I wouldn't have. It's not like it's anything you haven't seen before."
You looked over at him, staring at the tattoos on his neck leading down the collar of his shirt. You hadn't seen any of him before. Before Stan and now Stan are two different people. Now Stan isn't the person you fell in love with and he isn't the person you knew inside and out.
You want to say this person in front of you is a stranger, but you don't feel this way towards strangers, something you've never known.
"I haven't seen any of you before." You whispered. "You're different now."
He stood still and his jaw clenched for a few seconds before relaxing again. "Then I'll make sure you remember it."
Kyle knocked again and you could tell he was impatient. He never liked being behind schedule and while you were in here debating on whether you should openly ogle your ex or not, you pushed his normal routine behind by 5 minutes.
"Still got that stick in his ass I see," Stan said with a sigh as he shoved different things into his pockets.
"We should get going." You said as you opened the door revealing Kyle angrily looking at a non-existent watch on his wrist.
"six minutes," Kyle said with a frown. "Six minutes behind schedule. You know how her teacher gets when we're late and I don't like her looking at me like that again."
"You treat Heidi like she's a witch that's gonna eat Sara if we're late." You said rolling your eyes.
"She might if we don't hurry!" Kyle said already racing down the hallway towards the exit.
"Heidi's a daycare teacher now?" Stan asked as you two followed after Kyle.
"Yeah. She's great with the kids and honestly a sweetheart. Kyle is still a little salty because they slept together in college and never got a text back." You said as Stan opened the door for you to step out of.
"Kyle had a one-night stand?" Stan said raising a brow.
"He didn't want it to be. He asked her out, they went on a little date, got drunk, went back to her place and blah blah blah, you get the point." You said walking over to Kyle's car.
"Less talking about my love life, more getting the hell in the car," Kyle said with a frown as he started the engine.
You slid into the passenger seat as Stan got into the back, sitting next to Sara's car seat. Stan looked over at the small booster seat and before he realized it his fingers were tracing the small butterfly patterns on the fabric of the seat.
"Does she like butterflies?" He asked quietly more to himself but it didn't stop you from answering.
"Yeah, blue ones. Monarchs are apparently too basic for her." You said looking back at him.
He gave a small nod without looking up at you. He kept his eyes on the car seat. He was of course new to this whole parenting thing so maybe he just didn't know how all this worked, but he felt like it should be bigger.
"Shouldn't she be in a bigger seat?" He asked finally looking up at you.
Kyle laughed and glanced at the rearview mirror to make eye contact with Stan for a second. "Doctor says she's pretty tall for her age and it's best to put her in a booster instead."
Something about the way Kyle said it felt harsh for Stan. Like he was saying 'I've been to doctor's appointments while you were gone.' Stan balled up his fist and looked down at his lap. You felt the slight tension and tried your best to explain.
"She also gets real fidgety with the seatbelt so it really works a lot better." You said slightly nervous.
"Yeah.." Stan muttered as Kyle pulled into the parking lot of the small colorful building.
"Fudge," Kyle muttered as he spotted Heidi holding Sara's hand. "She's gonna come up here and start being all sweet to you and act like I'm not here and when she finally does she's gonna-"
Within a blink of an eye, Heidi was by the passenger side and gently knocked on the window. Her hair was longer and curlier, small acne scars on her cheeks but still very earthy looking with her long brown skirt and green cardigan.
You rolled the window down and smiled sweetly up at Heidi. "Hey, Ms. Heidi. I'm so sorry we're late."
"Oh, no problem. Sara was a pleasure to be around and I have no doubt that if you had a better driver you would have come sooner." Heidi said so sweetly one would almost miss the dig at Kyle.
Kyle sure hadn't as he huffed and crossed his arms and muttered something under his breath. Heidi gave a small smirk and opened the door to the backseat to help Sara in. When she spotted Stan she gasped and smiled brightly.
"Oh my god. Is that you Stan?" She asked in disbelief.
Stan tensed up a bit and gave a weak wave. "H-hey Heidi."
"Hey? That's all you have to say? Famous people amirite?" She teased as she helped Sara inside the backseat and into her booster seat.
Stan's breath caught in his throat when he finally saw Sara. Her big blue eyes looked up at him with curiosity. Her black hair was pulled into pigtails. Before Heidi could buckle her in he reached out and did it himself. He didn't know if it was ok for him to do in his position but he couldn't help himself.
Heidi looked over at you and raised a brow. You felt your cheeks heat up. Everyone had assumed Sara was Stan's daughter but you never confirmed it. You did tell a few people other than Kyle but begged them to keep it a secret. Heidi was a talker so you needed to get her out fast.
You looked over at Kyle and nudged your head in Heidi's direction, silently asking him to get her the hell out of there. He shook his head but you silently pleaded until he relented.
"Hey, Heidi. Still, no luck finding adult clothes?" Kyle asked making Heidi take in a sharp breath and quickly compose herself.
She shut the door and walked over to Kyle's window. "Still no luck finding any woman to willingly date you?"
"You did." He said rolling his eyes.
"And there would be a reason why that mistake was not made twice Mr. Broflovski," Heidi said with a sickeningly sweet smile. "Have a nice day Sara, Y/N, and Stan."
"Aw no bye for me?" Kyle said sarcastically.
"Bye Ms Heidi!" Sara said from her seat, waving enthusiastically.
Heidi turned her smile to Sara and waved back, stepping aside to let Kyle drive off.
"You owe me big time," Kyle muttered to you.
You ignored him and looked back at Sara with a smile, Stan sat next to her not knowing what was the best thing to do with his hands so he gripped the fabric on his thighs.
"Sara. This is.... my friend." You said with a tight smile.
"H-hi Sara.. um I-I'm.. um.." He stammered as he tried to find the right words to say. He didn't want you to call him by his name but also didn't want to step on any toes.
He looked up at you for help. His eyes were desperate and sad. You felt like the worst person in the world but even worse you felt like the worst mother.
"Daddy." You blurted out. "His name is Daddy, um dad for short."
Kyle stiffened up and bit the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing. Stan let out a relieved sigh and looked over at Sara who was rightfully confused.
"I-it's um German." He said quickly making Sara giggle.
"It's silly." She said making Stan's heart almost burst. He smiled brightly and nodded.
"Y-yeah very silly," He said looking down at Sara.
"You're mama's friend?" She asked kicking her small feet.
"Oh yeah me and your mom go way back. We went to high school together."
As Stan talked to Sara, answering all her questions and making her laugh. You finally let out a sigh you've been holding and sunk into your seat.
"A load off right?" Kyle asked you, glancing away from the road for a second to see the small smile on your lips.
"Yeah, it is."
A/N: Bet you didn't see that Heidi shit coming huh? Anyway yes I am still alive. I've been chipping away at all my drafts so hopefully more to come soon but I promise nothing because I am a filthy liar. Thank you guys so much for reading, love you all stay safe 🩵🩵🩵

꒰ྀི ✧ — Anonymous asked: I’m so salty we got told Misha wanted to join the Express and pursue Trailblazing only for them to pull a 180 on us and have him decide to ‘rest’ ( pass away ) after regaining his memories. It’s so unfair he spent time ‘growing up’ believing he could be like his grandpa and never got to reunite with Pom-Pom or anything before passing on. His visitor log saying he’s departed from the Express makes me SO sad.
I don’t like that he, Gallagher and Tingyun are playable characters that are all, as far as we know atm, dead. It feels weird being attached to them but having them not exist outside battles if that makes sense? :(
↳ -: ˚ʚ ( I guess we're critiquing H/onkai now ! ) ɞ˚ :-
I saw this in my discord notifs and I was like ' DID I JUST ANON MYSELF ? ' But anyway.
NO FOR REAL ! I used to OBSESSIVELY visit the Astral Express hoping Misha would be there and just immediately warp out if there was literally anyone else. Granted, there are other characters I like too but you know. Misha is very special which is why he's one of the primaries on this blog. Now I barely even visit the Express.
But no I 100% agree. From a story point, it's FANTASTIC and by far, Penacony was the best arc we got so far. The story of Misha and the Watchmaker is tragic and beautiful and one of the best things I've ever seen.
HOWEVER. You are right that Misha KIND OF SORT OF had his dream of Trailblazing ripped away from him with the realization that he is the Watchmaker. You can argue that he had his chance already with his life as Mikhail which YES, I will agree. I'll also agree that death is a VERY big theme in the Penacony arc.
But I'm certain that had the devs not been dead set on offing Misha, there were ways to give Mikhail a ' second chance ' as Misha ( well, a longer second chance ). I mean, look at K/ingdom Hearts and the 100 billion variants of S/ora / X/ehanort / etc ( and I haven't even played that series since the second game on literally the P/S2 ! ). Mikhail OBVIOUSLY died with a lot of regrets. The Dreamjoy Memoir event showed us that AND there's also literally a Y/outube video called ' The Sad and Gay Life of Mikhail Char Legwork ' ( that I still need to watch myself personally ). The man definitely deserved a second chance and H/OYO FUCKING TOOK THAT FROM US MAN.
Us:
But also us:
Also some rambling regarding recent leaks for future content below the read - more:
I did see some leaks however suggesting we are getting a 5-star Tingyun however which I'm personally excited for because I liked her character too.
So MAYBE.... IF WE BREATHE ENOUGH COPIUM.... WE'LL GET A FIVE STAR MIKHAIL. AND WE CAN THROW HIM IN A TEAM WITH MISHA AND GALLAGHER AND TRAILBLAZER.
#negative tw#// just in case !#// long post#// WHY IS THE READMORE NOT WORKING#// Guess I gotta add this too#HSR leaks#// also I had to edit the ' this shit is so peak ' myself because I saw a variant like that on twt but I CAN'T FIND IT ANYMORE#// But you can find ' this shit is so ass ' everywhere !#‧₊˚ ⋅ ꒰১ ᯓ ☆ To chase our dreams that we've declared. ☆ OOC.#‧₊˚ ⋅ ꒰১ ᯓ ☆ Oh‚ in silence‚ hopes we share. ☆ ASK.#‧₊˚ ⋅ ꒰১ ᯓ ☆ We glimpse‚ through our eyes yet fools‚ blind our sights. ☆ ANON.

MAG 123 Relisten
Activity on my first listen: putting up a new fence (moved again to a different part of the property... I've been patching that fence for years and I got so much done during TMA!)
Web Development, ha! (I know, I know, I'm easily amused...)
JON: (salty) "Coma, great! Let’s rearrange his office. Sleeping people don’t need – pens." [HE STEPS IN SOMETHING WITH A SQUELCH!] JON: "Euagh! What –" Up until this point Jon (and first-listeners) doesn't know what happened yet. Seems like there is still some residue from the Flesh attack, hehe. That’s also the reason they *had* to throw Jon's cloths out. Interesting, that the jar of ashes survived. I'd guess Martin still was there for the clean-up? My headcanon is, he was the one who wanted to go through Jon's office, trying to salvage things and managed to sufficiently clean up the jar to keep it. It gave Jon some closure and feeling of safety back then, I'd totally understand, if Martin wanted to preserve that.
MELANIE: "Tim is dead. Daisy is dead, and you – what, you’re just fine?" JON: "What – no! I’ve been in hospital for six months!" MELANIE: "Something has been in hospital. Something that’s got your face" Even though Melanie and Basira weren't too affected by the Not!Them (Basira almost not at all, she never met the real Sasha), that trauma still sits so deep with all of them. They know the Fears are not benevolent, and one of those things got Jon to wake up. (Also yeah, Slaughter bullet)
MELANIE: "I warned Basira; I said not to let you back in here, but she just" (increasingly angry; starts slamming [the wall]) "doesn’t! listen!" Lydia really nails the rage here. How the voice begins to break.
MELANIE: "Oh! Okay, so it’s what, hi Jon, how are you, get anyone killed lately?" JON: (dumbstruck) "I – I –" MELANIE: "Wipe that look off of your face. Like you’re not the reason all of this is happening! (she takes a breath) Like you’re any better than – than him!" This is hurtful on so many levels. And Jon and Melanie let us know what an impact this had on Jon (Jon being speechless and Melanie making a comment on the look on his face). Jon hasn't been the friendliest of people, but since MAG 22 he’s been on a steady path to change. All of his actions have been either hypervigilance from being traumatized as a kid (which is a defense mechanism. Learn all about everything, you'll hopefully be a step ahead and things can't hurt you - in S2 this really ended in bad actions. Like I understand why he's been paranoid, but the others also don't have to tolerate this from him) or (and this has been all of S3) trying to keep others safe, including Melanie. He just didn’t know how to do it. Mr. Spider taught him if other people get involved, they’ll get hurt. And then Elias, comparing Jon to Elias. As if Elias hasn't hurt Jon enough as well, even if it wasn't that obvious, especially not for the others. Elias' grooming Jon into things he never wanted is just so disgusting to me.
MELANIE: "No! You don’t, do you? He’s still alive. You are still alive. So this place is still –" See above. (The worst of this: She's kind of right! If Jon dies, they'll go free.)
JON: "Okay." [HE TAKES A LONG, SHAKY BREATH.] JON: "I’m sorry." T_T (Yeah, if it wasn't clear from the first two episodes of S4, this is going to be one huge punch to the gut after the other.)
BASIRA: "Alright. Best I can understand it, Beholding, or the Eye, or… whatever you wanna call it, we’re one of the only powers that hasn’t taken a shot at a ritual. Yet. And everything out there knows it." JON: "No – I mean, we can’t be the only ones, surely." Funny thing, this about the Eye haven’t taken a shot at a ritual yet stayed very strongly with me the first time around. So much, that I ignored all the clues that Elias is trying to do exactly this (Gerry in MAG 111 about the Watcher's Crown, Basira later to Elias in prison about him kicking off his little ritual from a jail cell). I bunched the Eye up with the End and the Web (because they also don’t have a ritual as we'll later learn) even though my sister already went "No no, the Eye has the Watcher's Crown" and then I went full Surprised Pikachu Face when things finally happened.
BASIRA: "Yeah, it was bad. We took them all out. Melanie did most of them. She was… she got a knife from somewhere and –" JON: (overlapping) "Basira I-I don’t know if that’s a good sign?" BASIRA: "She saved my life, Jon. She saved all of us. I won’t forget that." Oh, the hypocrisy of this. But we know, that Basira's heavily playing favorites in this season. Jon being back is not a good sign, but when Jon points out Melanie's unending rage and superhuman knife strength, it's okay because sHe SaVeD BaSiRa's LiFe? As if Jon wasn't part of the saving-the-world-from-the-Unknowing-crew, does that not count? (Speaking from a point of their knowledge at this time, of course.)
BASIRA: "Don’t be too hard on him, Jon. Your, uh, situation. It hit him. Hard." JON: (sighs) "Yes. Well, I’m sure there are better ways to deal with it than getting – cozy with Elias’s successor." Jealous? :)
BASIRA: (sighs) "Rumor is a couple of researchers up on the third floor decided to ignore some of his new directives, and… whoosh." I think it'd be really funny to see TMA from the eyes of someone not working in the Archives (or Rosie). Like all those people who have no idea what this place is. And how would they explain this event though. Two researchers suddenly disappearing...
JON: "Oh." [HE LAUGHS, BUT IT, TOO, IS HUMORLESS.] JON: "The more things change… So, we’re under siege, Melanie is aggressively unstable, Martin is working very closely with – The Lonely, who is predictably enough isolating him, and, oh, yes, uh, Tim and Daisy are still dead. (laughing) Which is at least easy to keep track of." There goes his sanity...
"As he told it, she was young, rail-thin underneath an oversized brown hoodie, which she kept pulled up, trying to cover up a network of pale stitches that stretched over one side of her head." Ha, totally forgot Annabelle was already in this. From what we heard about her from MAG 69, I don't know if this was even very obvious to spot when first listening? At that point, all we would know was that she got her head bashed in and dressed in vintage clothes? Oh and spiders of course...
"She just mumbled something about custom requirements and told Greg to drink his latte, which he did, so he tells me, though he can’t stand milk in his coffee." So subtle!
Chelicerae is btw what the "mandibles" or "fangs" of arachnids are actually called.
"According to those who followed such things, all you had to do was start a new thread as a Guest, something Greg had been instructed to make sure was possible, and the title of that thread should be the name of someone you want dead." A digital death note, gotcha! xD Okay, jokes aside, I love this and MAG 65, those internet creepy pastas!
"He rarely goes out anymore, and, judging by the cobwebs, he definitely doesn’t clean his house like he used to." There's no such thing as random cobwebs in TMA.
JON: "Another gap. And whoever took it didn’t do any follow-up, just… filed it away. I may be the first person to actually read it, so… (same mirthless cough of a laugh) Sorry, Angie. I suppose." There has already been some speculation about this as part of a mag a day. About the Archivist's dreams, how it works, who end up in there. This "Sorry, Angie", is it meant as an apology for the fact that their statement has been ignored for 2 years? Or is it meant for the possible situation of Angie now ending up in Jon's dreams, since the statement's been given after Gertrude's death and Jon is the first Archivist to read it. This would make Jon's diet even more complicated, having to resort to statements which Gertrude has already consumed in an attempt to not "curse" more people.
JON: "It’s unclear if they were meant to be users or victims, but I cannot help but note that there seem to be the names of several statement givers who found their way to the Institute, including noted arachnophobe Carlos Vittery." The name of the person who set the plot into motion. This should be a very loud clue about the Web pulling its strings all this time!

For all the people who need a happy ending for bb s2 for a peace of mind:
The lights of Pabu glow brightly from below as the Marauder soars over the city that never seems to sleep. “We are approaching the platform” Hunter informs the crew. Standing next to him is Omega, who looks exhausted but content as she raises her self on tippy toes to see the glowing city better. The smile on her face is sleepy but she still looks happier than in months.
Tech and Echo are helping Crosshair to patch up his injuries in the back while Wrecker is trying to look for some food - as always. Crosshair hisses as Echo injects him with a painkiller straight to his neck but says no snarky comment. He just seems to be relieved to be out of that laboratory and still in wonder that his brothers even came back for him. To be honest he still couldn’t quite believe it and at first he had thought it to be another one of Doctor Hemlock tricks when he saw them loosening the ties that held him to the table. The only explanation he had got from his brothers was “We don’t leave our own behind.” And that was truly all he needed.
Crosshair is drawn back to the present by Tech informing him that “That none of his injuries are detrimental and will heal in less than 30 rotations.” The Marauder lands smoothly on the platform and Omega followed by Echo are the first ones to step out into the quiet calmness of the night. Omega breathes in deeply the cool and salty night air and watches fondly how Hunter helps Crosshair to sit down on one of the benches surrounding the miraculously beautiful and large tree in the center of the square. The batch silently gather under the tree still not believing that the mission was successful and that they were finally all safe and finally free…

TD 2023 Season 2 Rant Pt3
Spoilers Below
.......
..........
..............
..............
...............
................
...................
................
I want to start off by saying I think S2 still has the same comedic value S1 does. Episode 2 and Episode 6 were very funny. However I think every other aspect of the show is weak asf rn.
Let me break it down.
Relationships: I think Bowie x Raj was handled the best out of all of them. However I was a bit disappointed that Raj forgave Bowie so quickly after he found about the cheating. I just expected a bigger blowup.
I still think Ripaxel is mid. We never got a full perspective on why Axel likes Ripper back. And now they've become S2 Geoff x Bridgette so they're super duper mid. These two need to be the double boot, get them off my screen.
Priya x Caleb is fine. I'm just not a fan because I think it's corny. (Also a salty Priya x Damien fan.) Caleb is basically a blank slate so they magically molded him into Priya's perfect bf. He has everything in common with her, no arguments, "perfect" chemistry.
Also just really predictable. Zee is gonna tell Priya that Caleb is only gonna use her for an alliance. Priya gets mad and tells off Caleb. Caleb does some heroic sacrifice bullshit to prove his love for Priya. Yawn.
Episode 5 is probably Ripper's best performance in the entire season because he's actually interacting with his team and not spending the entire time simping for axel.
Welp my finale pick is officially wrong since Nichelle went home. But honestly I'm more disappointed about how her elimination was handled than the early boot itself. Off screen training arc, minimal interactions with her team and then she's just used as fodder to show how good of a villain Julia is. Very anticlimactic ending. Reminds me of how they got rid of Anne Maria.
And when it comes to Nichelle discussions, I feel like I'm kind of in the middle. Because I can see from an outsider's perspective how Nichelle fans could be annoying. Because they just simplify her character to "girlboss." But Nichelle haters are equally obnoxious. Personally I'm on Team Nichelle is Okay But Could've Been Better.
Damien is THIS close to beating the filler character allegations. My guy made merge and won the first immunity? Yessir. Now he just needs a plotline. I don't know what. But please give him something.

I'm honestly just gonna come out and say it, and I don't mean to dismiss anyone who disagrees with me (with some exceptions, but I know those people don't follow me, even have me blocked).
But I've despised and been deeply disappointed with the Revolver event in Duel Links. So deeply that I doubt I will ever pick up the app again.
Keeping rant under read-more.
While there were things that I genuinely enjoyed, like the music during Rev's duels, hearing Shunsuke-san again, Rev's beautiful sprite and receive a lot of goodies (like gorgeous sleeves and icons ♥), there were a lot of things I actively disliked, and those were too many to save this event and make it the funny experience I'd hoped for ever since VRAINS world was released (even announced, let's be real).
The writing felt off from the start, with a lot of things that were strange, especially since the story of VRAINS world has been marketed as a follow-up of the anime, a s4 we never got (or just second half of s3). A follow-up for me meant Revolver would take off where he ended: guarding the network and make sure everyone stayed safe, actively stopping something like the Lost Incident to ever happen again.
Seems like the writers, as well as the localisation team, had forgotten all that and instead went with Revolver's s1 persona, once again making him the antagonist that needed to be defeated to protect the Ignis (or well, just Ai). Not only that, they also took away any kind of character development Revolver went through during the last half of the anime. Something that was only made worse by the localisation team, who amongst many things made the deliberate choice of changing lots of Playmaker's dialogues about saving Revolver to be about Ai instead, as well as changing LOTS of Revolver's dialogues over all.
Another example of a thing that deeply pissed me off and completely crushed me with disappointment was the reference to the rain duel between Revolver and Soulburner. The writers wrote it as it never happened, while also simultaneously saying it did, in fact, happen, as they told the two variations paralleled with each other. Then they had it ended with what seems to be the shitty dub-dialogue (let's stop pretending it ever was a dub, it was nothing but a parody) and no conclusion for either of the characters. And I'm sorry, but what in the actual hell?!
They've created nothing but plot holes that won't be easy to fill in the future, telling a story that is such a disservice to Revolver's character while also not portraying him properly, not even in the original Japanese versions (I've seen so many Japanese and Korean fans being confused about this event as well, some even going as far as outright saying "I'm glad I still like him despite this"). The fact that there are people out there judging Revolver's character and actions based on this event is disgusting, and once again makes me say that you're all free to hate him as much as you want but this isn't even Revolver, you're hating a version of him that didn't exist in later canon. Calling it post-canon is an insult.
Even worse, all the other characters have felt like post-canon versions, with at the very least decent writing, yet it still making some sort of sense.
I saw nothing of that here, and I'll be forever salty about them messing it up so badly. You can use his second avatar as much as you want; if you deliberately keep him stuck in the season 1 mindset and actively ignores that s2 and s3 (except the last duel between Ai and Playmaker, as well as bits and pieces of the last duel between Revolver and Soulburner) happened, you're not giving Revolver a post-canon story. You're making up an antagonist to fit your purposes and only uses Revolver's face for it. And that's such a disservice to his character and I'll never forgive the team who worked on this event (except Shunsuke-san and the music composer, they did an amazing job ♥).
I still finished the event completely as well as maxed Rev's level (something I haven't done since DM and maxed up Yuugi), only because I love him. But the sadness I feel about all this can't be ignored.
Again, I doubt I'll ever pick up Duel Links again after this, and I said as much in the survey afterwards. I usually try to keep a somewhat friendly tone when filling in surveys after events, but this?
Ohohoho, they got to hear how badly they messed up. And I was not nice. Because they didn't deserve it.
I'm done. I hate it. Get the fuck away from me. I was afraid this would happen.
I'm sticking to the merchandise in the future. At least they know what the fans want/never thought they want but definitely wanted and appreciated. TCG bros can keep their rotten excuse of an app.
Also, as much as I love Borreload Datastorm Furious Dragon, you can't fucking label it SR when I got 10 copies of it, and wasn't alone in doing so. I've gathered less of NORMAL cards that I did with Borreload. Morons...
Oh, and I might as well mention how much it actually irked me to constantly put up with not only Varis but also Roken Kogami when those aren't the names that should be used. Again, it's not a fucking dub, it's a joke for people who the creators deem stupid. Burn it to the ground for all I care and never talk about it again.
#angry tara is angry#but also#sad tara is sad#I hate you konami#so much#duel links#vrains#ygo vrains#yugioh vrains#I'm honestly gonna start blocking people who use Varis#I'm done#me and my friends have ranted together for many hours#the sad thing is I can keep on#this is a truckload of salt so read on your own risk

This is a bit late but I just came across this mixed review of Jenna Coleman's stage play from last year. I'm posting it as it has a couple of photos of her on stage that I haven't seen before.
Mixed reviews or no, I'm still a little salty at the fact we never got a National Theatre Live stream of this, so it is lost media. I'm also in year 3 of waiting to be able to see Klokkenluider and they don't seem to be interested in releasing Jackdaw properly over here. It's a tough time to be a Canadian Jenna Coleman fan. At least Sandman S2 and The Jetty should be viewable over here (I'm gambling on Canada's version of the BBC First cable network picking up The Jetty since it's a BBC One production).

WHERE OUR BLUE IS

S2 : Chapter 7 - Disclosure ☆☆
༄ ༄ ༄
My head throbbed, the pain unbearable as I opened my eyes carefully, squinting at the sunlight that blinded me. I sat up slowly, my body aching as if I had an army of needles stabbing into my skin. I winced quietly, looking at the empty room around me. I began to panic. Why is no one here? Are they mad at me? I'm so stupid! My heart rate increased by the second, and I started to hyperventilate.
All of my fears were soon dilluted when I saw the door open, revealing the tall, dark-haired boy who had rescued me on that fateful day.
"Okumoto!" He exclaimed in panic, rushing to my side in an instant. He inspected my face, taking my hands to extend my arms and inspect them, too.
Crimson dusted my face as our proximity made me nervous and excited. He eyes delicately grazed over my body, a sigh of relief leaving him when he saw no visible wounds. He looked up into my eyes, quickly letting go out of embarrassment.
"Sorry... I was just worried." He spoke softly, looking away slightly.
I smiled at him, resting my face on my palm.
"Okumoto..." He began to speak, tearing my thoughts away from the pain I felt.
"You can call me Seiko, y'know. I feel like we're close enough now." I replied as he nodded.
"Seiko... I know I'm not the best with my words, and I'm trying to improve that about myself." His eyes diverted, looking at the blanket that covered me. "I want you to know that I'm here to listen to you. I want you to be able to say how you're feeling." I nodded as he proceeded. " It's not easy to just open up to people. But... I'm willing to take you on that journey if it means I won't ever see you suffer like that again."
I blushed at his words, my eyes brimming with tears. I tried to stop them from falling, but they defied my wish, pouring out of my sockets like an opening dam. Fushiguro embraced me, laying my head on his shoulder as I sobbed hopelessly. He rubbed my back, comforting me, healing me.
I forced myself to stop, wiping away the salty tears and looking up at him.
"Fushiguro..." was all I managed to utter, my voice broken.
"Megumi." He responded.
He placed himself directly next to me, allowing me to lay my head on his shoulder.
"I know confessing private things isn't in any way easy, but we can do this together." He held my hand, causing my heartbeat to raise.
I squeezed his hand as he spoke. "Actually... I have something to confess to you."
I looked at his tranquil face. My mind filled with possibilities. Was this really happening?
"You know that person who has been sending you packages and stuff since you got here?" He continued.
I broke my silence. "Eros?" I questioned, my voice still hoarse.
"Yeah." His eyes were placed upon me. "It was me." He mumbled, quickly looking away but bringing his gaze back to me to see my reaction.
"Really?" My eyes lit up as I sat up fully, making myself eye level with him.
"I- I don't really know how to say this." He let go of my hand, playing with his thumbs.
"Since the moment you got here, I always noticed I felt differently about you. I didn't want to admit it, but hell, with you right next to me, my heart is going crazy and I- uh. I really..." He took a deep breath, collecting himself. My heart beat with anticipation, my eyes never leaving him.
"Whenever I've imagined this moment - uh, not in a weird way!" I chuckled as he tried to justify his words. "I always thought it would be in a park on a sunny day or something like that. But -" He paused "Ugh just say it, Megumi!" He hit his head lightly, urging himself to go on. "Basically, I like you." He said simply, turning his head away to hide the red nature of his face.
It felt as if time itself had stopped. My body was ridden with feelings of ecstasy and euphoria. An oversized grin stapled itself across my face. I was on a high. My face flushed at least 20 different shades of red at his confession.
He liked me back?
He turned back around, looking at me with hopeful eyes.
"I like you, too." I muttered, too shy to say it any louder.
He pulled me into a hug, resting his head on my shoulder as I did to his. We stayed like that for a while, just holding each other. I could hear and feel his heart beat against my chest. Was this for real?
"Hey, Seiko! Hope you're - " A voice spoke, pausing suddenly after entering the room. Megumi and I moved away from each other, the sudden movement causing me to flinch in pain. Instinctively, he tried to check if I was alright, making the scene a little too obvious.
At the door stood Yuuji, Kugisaki, and Gojo. all gobsmacked at the sight.
Megumi and I moved to opposite sides of the bed, Kugisaki and Yuuji literally screaming.
"WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON HERE?" Kugisaki exclaimed, walking over to us.
"It's nothing..." Megumi replied quietly.
"THAT WAS MOST DEFINITELY SOMETHING!!" Yuuji stormed over to me, grabbing my shoulders. "Seiko, tell me what was going on right now before I get mad."
I rolled my eyes at him." You won't do anything." I dared him.
Gojo walked over to us, hid face slightly flushed. Tears streamed out of his blindfold as he embraced Megumi. "My little boy is all grown up!" He cried dramatically.
Megumi pushed Gojo off of him quickly, annoyed at his affection. "Nothing was happening!" He tried to convince him, but it didn't work.
We were bombarded with questions from the three. Would we ever live this out?
༄ ༄ ༄
- I'm back to being nice now!!
- finally found out who Eros is (nobody is surprised)
- it's literally just fluff for the next three chapters tbh
- megumi confession arc in clutch!!
- see you guys soon mwah mwah lots of love ❤️

Splatoon 3 DLC Ideas (Lemme Explain)
Hey everyone! So I guess y'all read the title already, so lemme explain why I'm even making this to begin with. So I've seen some disscussion for the past few months about the possibility of a 3rd and 4th Splatoon 3 DLC with some people pointing at the fact there's four inkblots on the expansion pass' logo (yellow for the Plaza DLC, purple/dark blue for Side Order, and then coral pink and cyan) and such. Also I find it weird that only two waves were announced when typically when it comes to expansion passes we get more than that (and yes I'm still kinda salty about how much content we got for wave 1; where's my Inkopolis News, Nintendo??). So with this being said, let's say that there is a chance that there's two more DLCs coming out in the future. What would those be? Well, here's what I hope will come in the potential 3rd and 4th wave of the Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass (mild spoilers!).
Octopia hub DLC (coral inkblot)
Okay so this is sort of outta the blue but I kinda want to see a DLC where we get to make Octopia (where the story modes for S1 & S2 take place) our hub worlds. Like if you consider DJ Octavio's willingness to help Neo Agent 3 and the Squidbeak Splatoon take down Mr. Grizz during the final boss of RotM and that literally all of DJ Octavio's soldiers were either sanitized, turned into mammals, or freed by the Calamari Inkantation, maybe we can go down to Octopia in a future DLC and check out what's in store. In addition to a new hub, maybe we can get some Turqouise October tracks for turf war (to fit in with the Octopia vibe) and even have DJ Octavio do preformances during splatfests. I mean, we need more tracks from this guy! We only really have the two versions of I Am Octavio (vanilla version from 1 and the F34R ME remix from 3), Bomb Rush Blush from S2 (also a remix), Tidal Rush (also from S2 and it's also a remix), and that's pretty much it (unless you count that one track used during the S2 Final Splatfest trailer, but it's just used for trailers and stuff; it was never in S2 to begin with) (oh and it's also a remix/mashup). I feel like it'd be pretty cool actually see Octopia outside of the levels we played in S1 & S2. As for how we get there, maybe we can use the manhole in Inkoplis Plaza that originally lead to Octo Valley to get to Octopia.
Deepsea Metro DLC (cyan inkblot)
If Side Order doesn't dive into what happened to the Deepsea Metro after Octo Expansion (looks like Side Order isn't going to be about Octo Expansion, but then again we just have the one teaser and that's it), I kinda want to see what happened to the Deepsea Metro. I mean, we can see N.I.L.S. Statue on Hammerhead Bridge (use recon to see it without letting down your team online), the special canisters sold at Hotlantis are from the metro, and dedf1sh ended up escaping the metro (in Splatsville, there's a bunch of signatures of band members and one of them belongs to dedf1sh, the one that looks like there's an eye on it, I believe) (and of course, dedf1sh probably got octo-napped by Mr. Grizz and became Octoplush; #35 caught!!!!), so maybe the cyan inkblot could represent the sanitized ink of the metro. I mean, Splatoon 3 is the end of the current story arc and they can't ignore the events of Octo Expansion forever (there's no mention of the events of OE in the sunken scrolls for S3 and everyone's just shrugging off the fact that you can see N.I.L.S. Statue from Hammerhead Bridge; see Deep Cut's new dialog for Hammerhead Bridge and you'll see what I mean). As for what the DLC could be about, well maybe after the events of OE, the metro has gone into dissarray now that Tartar is dead (supposedly, unless Side Order decides to throw us a curveball), several sanitized octarians have either been killed by Pearl's killer wail or have escaped the metro (like dedf1sh), and now the facility's falling apart. Maybe we can play as a sanitized octoling or something who either wants to save the metro (the metro is connected to a city full of deepsea creatures) or make it to the surface before the entire facility colaspes on itself. Maybe we can get more dedf1sh tracks (as of writing this there hasn't been much news about Side Order besides that one interview from a few months ago). The tracks would probably be remixed versions of the tracks from OE that got all disorted because of the metro falling apart and some new ones (duh). There'd be new levels, obviously, and as for the bosses, well maybe they can be some of the few sanitized octarians that stayed in the metro but got beefed up by using materials coming out of the metro or even by sanitized ink seeping through the ceiling. Maybe this DLC can draw inspiration from the Octo Infection AU by fleewaysonic46 (to make a long story short the AU takes place some time after OE and now there's some sort of parisite on the lose affecting the sanitized octarians in the metro). I dunno, just a thought.
And that my friends are my ideas for waves 3 and 4 for the Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass (if they come out, that is.) I seriously hope that we get more DLC for Splatoon 3 (I'd really like to see Octopia outside of the hero mode levels!!!)!!!

Ahhhh!!! Thank you!!! Keith is my absolute fav! And that's completely fair that he's not your personal favorite! We all have that one character we adore and Shiro's also a great character! Gonna say more below:
Yeah, honestly I get the whole thing with Shiro. I HATE how some fans were HAPPY he died (I think most of them were Kl fans tbh so no surprise there) and MAD that he didn't stay dead. I really wish he had been more involved in s7+8. I absolutely don't blame Keith for that tbh because a) it was the writings fault and b) he is leading like Shiro wanted him to in s2. Whenever I write fics for s7+, I try to make Shiro have more of a role (and even co-pilot Black with Keith). I get how you can be frustrated with that whole turn of events.
And in my fics, I like to feminize (I guess?) Keith while also show his masculine side because he's a good mix of both (so he can be pretty and soft and vulnerable but also HE CAN ABSOLUTELY KICK ASS!) so I get the whole balance between those and how it comes off wrong if not done delicately. I personally like the idea of Shiro being space mom and Keith space dad (not literally ) because of their personalities.
I HATE HATE HATE how people try to pin Shiro and Keith as siblings and/or dad/son. If anything, they are best friends. You can be best friends with someone and not be in love/together. Fans (especially some Kl fans) were so insecure about that so they STILL have to make them related, biologically or not. Annoys me to death. Once saw someone try to say Shiro and Keith were biological siblings but yet said Keith is Korean and Shiro Japanese...like it doesn't work that way 😕 and you're absolutely right! Shiro didn't literally raise Keith. He raised him up as any good friend does with another friend ("I will never give up on you, but more importantly, you can't give up on yourself") and Keith back to him ("As many times as it takes"). But some fans pick and choose lines and their literal meaning (aka "Shiro, you're like a brother to me/You're my brother/thank you for raising him to be the man he is today" vs "it's like we're brothers, man/I consider you and the others to be my family") and don't care about consistency (anything Shiro and Keith = BRoThERs! but same implications for Keith + anyone else = they're good friends/lovers!) I get sp salty about that...
I always forget that last hug with Shiro and Keith 🤣 so he gets THREE individual hugs with the guy in the show plus the group hug in s4 (I know you said you haven't really covered s3-6 all the way but counts as a hug so...).
Keith and Hunk are so good together! That's actually one of his friendships I love so much! Why I definitely like the Weblem episode in s2, Hunk sticking up for Keith when Allura was hating on him in s2, and them in general.
I just love exploring Keith's friendships with pretty much EVERYONE 💕 including Matt and the Blades and stuff.
With that, yessss fans have turned me off from Keith and Lance together (platonic and romantic) so I get that 💯 percent. And how Lance treats Keith in canon up to s6-s7+ doesn't help either as well as how lots of people romanticized that treatment. It's the "if he pulls your hair, that means he likes you" trope and I hate it.
Kdkckdndnd fair enough about your cat not getting along with Kosmo 🤣
I like Keith vs Zarkon because a) both Galra and b) both lead Voltron. But yeah, I agree with the idea that it was done wrong as Shiro already fought him in a better fight. And Shiro having to earn things that were easily handed to Keith (my hc is that Shiro had a play in that while in Black’s astral plane because he wants better for Keith. If he's not getting mad at Keith for stealing his car or being Galra after a year of torture by them, can't see how he wouldn't want Keith to be even better than him) parallels to Keith earning stuff that easily got handed to Lance (a fighter pilot position, Red, using a sword, etc...) so I take it as a writing problem. Both are so annoying and bad. They're all their own individuals and they shouldn't be in the shadow of each other or any type of replacement.
As much as I LOVE Voltron, there is plenty I HATE about it too, even outside of s8. Again, I get salty af about this sometimes. Shiro and Keith were both done dirty, I swear (along with Allura because COME ON s8 wtf).
Like your answer and thank you for it. Always interesting to see thought processes of each person and how they differ on different characters vs other people's own. Love it.
I loved your post on Shiro and there's so much I agree on with it. Now I'm interested in seeing your take on Keith for the character game plz!!! ❤❤❤
Aww, bless your heart. Thank you! I'm glad you found something to enjoy in all of my heavily biased, opinionated, and probably unhinged rambling. ^///^'
I'll give it a go, but, just a small warning/disclaimer in advance:
I have not watched Seasons Three through Six in their entirety. I am vaguely aware of certain developments from these seasons, thanks to my interaction with fanworks incorporating them, but I cannot offer any sort of detailed analyses based on events exclusive to them. For example, I can't comment on Keith's relationships with the Blades in any meaningful way, as I'm only familiar with his interactions with them in Seasons Two, Seven, and Eight.
My answers for Keith are not going to be anywhere near as in-depth as they were for Shiro, since I watched this show for Shiro. But, I will respond to every question to the best of my ability.
1. Why do you like or dislike this character?
I like Keith because of the hidden depths to his character. Superficially, he's the hot-headed loner stereotype. He's a "discipline case". He stole the car of a renowned ace pilot sent to recruit students for the local military academy. He spent a number of years in the foster care system after being orphaned at a relatively young age, carries a knife on his person at all times, and doesn't take well to being challenged or having his abilities called into question. He's prone to rash decision-making and acting on impulse, and will lash out and say callous, hurtful things that he doesn't truly mean in the heat of the moment. ("Are we even friends?")
But, he craves love and acceptance from the people around him, even when his instinct is to push them away for self-preservation's sake. He scarfs down his food like he's never going to get another chance to eat, again. He can be a bit slow to pick up on the meanings of certain concepts or ideas, and some aspects of socialization are completely lost on him (not comprehending Lance's "Voltron" cheer). He likes cute things in a reserved, understated sort of way. He likes hugs.
Though he'd never admit it.
He's rash and quick-tempered, but it comes from a place of passion; from a strong sense of justice, and desire to protect the ones he cares about at any cost.
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
That he's very much a semi-feral cat in human form. Shiro is his Person, the one who earned his trust and unwavering devotion, and he's slowly learned to open himself up to trusting others, but he'll still bite someone's finger off if they're not Shiro and have the misfortune of making him angry.
3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?
He seems to have lost some of his internal fire in an effort on the part of the writers to turn him into Discount Shiro.
Shiro is "retired" from his position as Black Paladin and head of Voltron, and sidelined completely through no choice of his own because Keith has taken over his role on the team.
Keith gets to kill Shiro's personal tormentor after Shiro couldn't so much as best Sendak in combat.
Season Eight has Keith retreading ground that Shiro already tread, laying into Zarkon about his being unworthy of piloting the Black Lion and Paladinship. Even though that exact confrontation between current and former Black Paladin had already been handled in a much more impactful manner back in Season Two, when it was Shiro engaging Zarkon in a hand-to-hand fight inside of the Black Lion's inner quintessence while the Black Lion, herself, spectated and had the final say in who was the victor.
Not only did Shiro and Zarkon's conflict have higher stakes, both narratively and for the characters, as Zarkon was actually still alive and an active threat to the universe, rather than existing inside of Haggar/Honerva's head, Shiro and Zarkon had history. Shiro was imprisoned and held captive, forced to fight in the gladiatorial arena, on Zarkon's ship. Zarkon was able to wrest control of the Black Lion out from under Shiro mid-battle on multiple occasions, and used his persisting connection to the Black Lion to track Voltron down across multiple galaxies.
These two finally getting to face one another on the battlefield was a longtime coming. It had proper build-up, felt completely earned, and provided all parties involved (Shiro, Zarkon, the Black Lion, and the viewer) ample reason to be invested in the outcome.
It was also a visual treat, with dynamic, impressively animated choreography and physics highly reminiscent of Saiyan battles in Dragonball Z, against a gorgeous backdrop.
Contrast that with Keith yelling at a Mega Zarkon inside of Haggar/Honerva's head, because the showrunners had to artificially up the ante somehow, while standing stock still against a backdrop that isn't nearly as stunning.
And, the Black Lion immediately coming to his aid when Mega Zarkon decides to strike,
instead of watching as her Paladin is slowly strangled until he says the right thing that convinces her that he is worthy.
Keith had Shiro's essence teach him how to "see through the Lion's eyes" in order to unlock the Black Lion's wings,
something Shiro, himself, had to fight to figure out with no one other than the Black Lion guiding him.
Despite Shiro's bond with the Black Lion being the strongest bond between human Paladin and Lion, indisputably and unquestionably, Post-Resurrection Shiro has no connection to her at all. He's a silent passenger in her cockpit, or the cockpit of whichever other Paladin-Lion pair chose to carry him. He might as well not be present at all for all of the acknowledgement and deference he's given by both his found family, and the show, itself.
None of this is Keith's fault. But, it's difficult not to feel some measure of anger, watching him usurp Shiro's role entirely, while Shiro is sequestered off on his own ship to be nerfed and disrespected for a full thirteen episode season. Especially when Keith is younger and able-bodied and easily achieves or has handed to him things that Shiro fought with all of his might only to either fall short of (defeating Sendak), or barely scrape by on the skin of his teeth (cementing his bond with the Black Lion to unlock her ultimate power). Keith's success at Shiro's expense only serves to further fuel the noxious ageism and disgusting ableism perpetuated by this show and its fanbase.
And, Keith's own personality seemed to suffer for it. Perhaps it's meant to be character growth, but he seems so flat, void of the traits that made him distinctly Keith, throughout Seasons Seven and Eight, following Season Seven's opener. I'm positive there are passionate fans who could and have elaborated on this with the detail and insight necessary to fully illustrate the dearth of Keithness. But, I think it says something that even someone like me, who watched this show for Shiro and skipped over nearly four entire seasons due to the absence of him, picked up on the less-than-satisfactory change.
4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
A shonen anime series, either Sci-Fi or Isekai, where he can be the hero who reluctantly heeds the call of Destiny and pull off risky, reckless maneuvers on a futuristic vehicle, and/or masterfully take down foes with a great big sword, to his hearts' content.
5. What’s the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
"Hold On", by Chord Overstreet; only because of this Keith/Shiro video.
6. What’s something you have in common with this character?
I, too, love dogs and would die for Takashi Shirogane.
7. What’s something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
Treating him like the competent adult he actually is. The one who lived on his own in a shack in the middle of the desert for a year, and set off bombs to distract Garrison security personnel while he snuck inside of the quarantine zone to figure out what they were up to. Before even realizing they had a miraculously alive Shiro sedated and strapped to a table.
8. What’s something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?
Feminizing and infantilizing him, always in service of a ship. Keith has moments of emotional vulnerability, because he's meant to be a multi-faceted human/alien hybrid. That does not make him a weepy blushing "uwu" uke who sobs, wails, and cries while being choked and split open on Lance or Shiro's intimate parts and calling them "daddy".
He's a semi-feral cat in human form. He'd more than likely use his teeth, inflicting serious damage on those very sensitive parts, should someone try to make him choke on them, and I can't see him ever wanting to be sexually dominated by anyone. Putting aside that Shiro is a bottom and would never, Keith would sock Lance or any other man square on the jaw, or drive his knee or foot into an even more vulnerable area, for so much as trying to pin him down and make him "take it".
And, I know this is a popular headcanon and the show, itself, tried to lend credence to it by having Krolia thank "Kuron" for looking after Keith for her, but Shiro did not "raise" Keith. Shiro was an ambitious ace pilot in his very early twenties, contemplating the prospect of engagement and marriage to his long-term partner while their relationship began to unravel, battling a terminal degenerative illness, and planning to pilot a voyage into deep space. When was he meant to have found the time amidst all of this to have adopted or parented a preteen/early adolescent?
He and Keith were close, as a mentor/protege and friends typically would be, but Keith certainly didn't look to Shiro to be a stand-in or surrogate for his father. Nor did Shiro view Keith as his son. Keith confronting Shiro over Shiro's attempt to conceal his illness from him plays out exactly the way a confrontation between two peers who view each other as equals would.
Keith marches up to Shiro without so much as a greeting, very abrupt, direct, and upfront, unafraid of castigation or reprisal. The opposite of what one would expect from a cadet approaching his senior officer, or any kid confronting an adult authority figure about a perceived deception.
Likewise, Shiro steps down to put himself on the same level as Keith.
While maintaining a respectful physical distance, Keith leans forward into Shiro's space, resolutely standing his ground and refusing to let Shiro hide or deflect.
And, Shiro ultimately gives in and chooses to be honest with him, rather than pulling rank and brushing Keith off, telling him that everything's fine, or it's none of Keith's business, and treating him like a child.
Their relationship can't be so simply and neatly classified. Though Keith does refer to Shiro as his "brother", there's enough ambiguity there to be threatening (see Keith tenderly touching Shiro's face
and pausing over Shiro as if he intended to kiss him
), and I think that's why very specific shippers dilute Shiro into Keith's parental figure, even going as far as interpreting Shiro and Keith as, or outright making them biologically related. It's a transparent attempt to rule out any possibility of a romance between them while pretending to pay perfunctory tribute to their bond.
As if these shippers actually care about it or Shiro in any way, shape, or form.
And, it's sincerely grating to have to scroll past.
9. Could you be roommates with this character?
I see no reason why I couldn't be. Though, I don't think my cat would get along with Kosmo very well.
10. Could you be best friends with this character?
Once again, I would be too nervous to approach him.
11. Would you date this character?
No. He's way too young for me.
12. What’s a headcanon you have for this character?
I have to go with the fairly popular(?) fanon reading that Keith falls somewhere on the Autism spectrum. Canon seems to back this by some degree, with the aforementioned "I say 'Vol', you say--" "Vol-tron?", and showing Keith covering his ears and closing his eyes on the carnival ride he and Hunk get stuck on, as if suffering from overstimulation.
13. What’s an emoji, an emoticon and/or any symbol that reminds you of this character or you think the character would use a lot?
▬▬ι═══════ﺤ
14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
Probably cliche and expected, but... Biker Aesthetic. Leather jacket in black or red, fingerless gloves on his hands, of course, tight jeans, perhaps with a tear or two in the legs, and heeled boots.
He'd also definitely wear hoodies and hooded jackets with drawstrings, so he can pull the hood over his head and secure it tightly when he's feeling overstimulated and wants to shut out the world.
15. What’s your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn’t matter if it’s canon or not.)
Keith/Shiro. Their love for each other is legitimately, canonically death-defying.
"Keith, I was dreaming. Keith... you saved me." "We saved each other."
I get emotional every time.
16. What’s your least favorite ship for this character?
The portmanteau starts with a 'K', and rhymes with pants.
17. What’s a ship for this character you don’t hate but it’s not your favorite that you’re fine with?
I think Keith/Acxa is interesting and has potential, and I kind of wish the show would have done more with Keith/Allura than the brief ship tease we got in The Ark of Taujeer.
18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?
I think Keith and Hunk's friendship is very sweet, Keith and Kosmo are adorable, and in a purely platonic sense, Keith and Lance do have their moments (that I don't reflexively tune out because the fandom has caused me to dread any interaction between them.)
19. How about a relationship they have in canon that you don’t like?
Nothing comes to mind.
20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn’t matter?
I think Keith has some pretty solid friendships as is.
21. If you’re a fic writer and have written for this character, what’s your favorite thing to do when you’re writing for this character? What’s something you don’t like?
I like how concise, direct, and to the point Keith is. He doesn't meander, or waffle, or embellish, or put on airs. He says exactly what he means to say the first time, and doesn't put up a facade for anyone.
I've yet to find something I dislike about writing for him.
22. If you’re a fic reader, what’s something you like in fics when it comes to this character? Something you don’t like?
I like when he's actually written faithfully to his canon characterization, scrappy and slightly rough around the edges, but fiercely loving and possessing a strong- if sometimes somewhat misguided- sense of justice.
I hate when he's infantilized and portrayed as a soft, weepy, fragile child in fics that are meant to take place during the show's main timeline. It comes across as borderline fetishistic, and kind of creeps me out. Especially when he's being paired with Shiro and the author continues to emphasize how "delicate" and "small" he is in contrast to Shiro's strength and size.
23. Favorite picture of this character?
24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?
Just as Shiro reminds me very much of the 2003 iteration of Leonardo, Keith invokes 2003 TMNT's Raphael. Short-tempered, always ready and raring to deliver a well-deserved beatdown, prone to acting rashly, strong sense of justice, intense, unbreakable bond with his team leader.
The major difference is, aside from Keith and Shiro not butting heads like Raph and Leo frequently do (and obviously not being siblings), Raphael never lost his internal fire over the course of the series, no matter what trauma he endured.
The same cannot be said for Keith.
25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?
I can't recall my first impression of him, truth be told. Now... Admittedly, I'm not quite as taken with his character as I sort of hoped I would be, given how he's portrayed in well-written fanfiction. I like him just fine, but...
Maybe it's the product of me being overexposed to him by a fandom that is utterly obsessed with shoving the milquetoast pairing of him and his "rival" down everyone's throats. Or the fact that he's made to usurp Shiro's role, to the point that some of his fans openly wish that Shiro would have remained dead in service of Keith's character arc.
Regardless of the reason, Keith kind of doesn't do much for me. Strange for someone who happily ships him with their favorite to say, but that's the reality of it.
----
Thank you so much for the submission! I hope my answers were somewhat satisfactory, and not completely incendiary. (I'm not really equipped to handle torches and pitchforks.)

i miss when t100 was about a group of kids who were discounted and cast aside by the society that fucked them over in the first place, and they had to learn to band together and survive in a totally new and sort of hostile environment, back when the earth was still something redeemable, and beautiful, and alive.
then the writers destroyed the world for a second time, and now they’ve decided to just abandon ship? it’s just so... cynical and pessimistic and lazy
it’s very annoying for a sci fi show to constantly be rewriting the rules of its existence every season, imo
#text post#lea talks too much#i miss s1 basically#s2's only redeeming quality was that a decent portion of the delinquents/kids from the skybox were still alive#AND THEN THERE WERE LIKE 6#i'm very salty about the spoilers#the 100#the 100 negativity#the 100 spoilers#i feel like i got cheated out of any decent attempts at worldbuilding#bc the scopes of the seasons were always so narrow in terms of#the action was always happening in the mid-atlantic region of the east coast#but somehow it was okay to destroy the world when we never got to SEE any of it#not even any hints or glimpses#and now they're gonna bring this lazy uninspired worldbuilding to a whole new planet?#sorry but i'll pass

hmm. so i've seen lots of debating and complaining about amphibia s2, s3, and the handling of the characters, and since it's nearly midnight i don't have enough self-control to stop myself from making a little post about my own feelings, if that is something y'all are interested in reading about.
so the biggest discourse that i have admittedly mainly seen on twitter is this: should marcy be mentioned more in the s3 narrative, and should we be just as salty for the way sasha was handled in the s2 narrative?
and my answer is yes... and no.
here is the thing about post s1 through s2 sasha: i think she was made to be likeable, but not inherently sympathetic. you see her primarily threatening anne's family and way of life, being manipulative, and having her worst qualities being actively encouraged. this is why, i think, her self-sacrifice in reunion WORKED: it was unexpected for sasha, a character who had tried to murder sprig not five minutes before this, to want to sacrifice herself for someone else. this was the start of sasha's development as a character that you the audience were supposed to like.
and here's the thing. we have gotten more reactions to sasha's sacrifice than marcy's. this is an indisputable fact, i think. we got anne breaking down crying about it, we got the callback in the premiere showing anne is still thinking about it and has actively chosen to compartmentalize and shove it away in a box where she isn't thinking about it, and we got marcy immediately asking about sasha's whereabouts. we got the episode where sasha's presence is felt, and though it isn't brought up much, there is still that sense of feeling like sasha is there in the text because we have the clues, we know that the girls are thinking about her.
marcy... has not gotten that yet. nobody broke down crying over her fate on screen. we have anne insisting she's alive and pretending to herself through the whole of s3a, which does set up that compartmentalizing trait that she first had in s2ep1. we have sasha bringing marcy up twice... and then never again, not even on the topic of defeating andrias. they haven't addressed that marcy's lack of presence in the group feels odd the way that anne and marcy did during sleepover, and they certainly haven't acknowledged the way that marcy was left in the hands of a tyrant.
however, that doesn't mean her presence isn't inherently felt, it is just far more indirect than sasha's was in s2. it's a lot more subtle, but especially as the season draws closer and closer to its climax, i do believe it's intentional that the writers aren't talking about marcy at all. you see, amphibia loves making conflict so very direct and pointed! anne doesn't think about sasha's betrayal on her own accord until sasha's right in front of her, and therefore it is within her character not to think about what happened with marcy until it is also in her face and impossible to ignore. i bet next episode will increase that tension of "marcy should be here but she's not and i don't like it", because that IS the intention, i do believe we the audience are supposed to be uncomfortable with this situation! because this way, it makes the devastation of what will happen when anne and sasha find out about darcy hit us just as hard as it hits them. they did this with sasha in reunion and the third temple, they did it with marcy in true colors, and it IS going to happen again.
#kasey rambles#meta#amphibia spoilers#marcy wu#sasha waybright#anne boonchuy#im sdfhkdsfhkdshf salty#anyways these are just my opinions you dont have to take me as fact#i just believe so strongly that its purposeful and its going to make the emotional moments hit harder#like it always has#remember that they are teenagers#and that this is a show geared towards younger audiences#please i beg

Can We Please Remember The New York Special Exists???
I'm still a bit salty that the Shanghai special was referenced in s4 by way of Nonna Gina stating she "met a young lady that reminds [her of Marinette]" while studying martial arts in China (episode: "Simpleman"). And yet, the New York special (the one more heavily advertised on Disney, at least, and the one with better production value overall IMO) was NEVER referenced!? No mention of Miss Bustier not being able to go because she was pregnant (no pregnancy belly or mention of a newborn or anything...). And, more importantly, no mention of Adrien relinquishing his Miraculous FOR THE SECOND TIME in either the episode "Kuro Neko" (where, obviously, he does said relinquishing) or during Ladybug's "we lost, you might as well abandon me" lament at the end of "Strike Back" (because, obviously he’s done so before... just... not with the intent to abandon Ladybug per se). We FINALLY got to see that, yes, Chat Blanc did indeed traumatize Marinette, but no mention of how her most trusted partner and companion disappeared on her twice!? That has GOT to affect her too, no?
OH! And PLAGG! I nearly forgot Plagg! Adrien abandoned HIM twice, and NOTHING from Plagg!? Even when he was ranting at Marinette about WHY Adrien gave up his ring!? No mention of it being the second time? (although, the first time was because Adrien felt so guilty about everything so it wasn’t EXACTLY Ladybug’s fault... but she also didn’t HELP matters.... it’s a very gray area....) But still! Just a simple, “this is the last time you’re giving me up, right?” from Plagg would have been nice. It would be a gentle nod that Adrien’s done it before, but could also simply reference that episode (as well as Adrien’s threat in the S2 episode “Syren”).
This isn't to salt on Adrien, mind you. I'm not mad at the boy for giving up his ring twice. I'm mad at the writers for ignoring this fact, as well as making Adrien clearly forget what Ladybug said on that recording Aeon played for him to convince him to take the ring back originally.
Show writers, can you PLEASE remember the New York special happened, at least as much as the Shanghai one???? That’s all I ask.

I'll level with you I really didn't care for mid season 1 Yennefer, she got on my nerves. I did not like her and geralts relationship (it was bad for both of them tbh, geralts coming out looking worse though by far). The thing is though yennefer's scenes with Jaskier this season were so good, they're really cute and FUNNY together. THEY HAVE ACTUAL CHEMISTRY!!! As buds AND as a couple! i normally ship geraskier but show geralt can take a long walk off of a short pier. Yenskier's growing on me
oh man I definitely have Opinions about it. (Future Raps note: this got too long and it's twn critical, so it's going under a Read More fdkjgdf)
I also didnt like Yen on 1st watch, but I did on my 2nd, and I think it has a lot to do with the timeline issue. She had a BIG change of heart from 1 episode to the next, and they tell us it's cause she's spent decades in court and realized it's not what she wanted but we as the audience dont get to SEE or FEEL that change. She later wants a kid, and a casual viewer feels like just an hour ago she was ok with giving that up to gain power, it was a choice she made and it's so weird that she regretted that (in what FEELS like) immediately after and seems to be blaming other people for it.
more understanding of the chartacter helps get her motivations better, but i think she suffered the Too Much Info in Too Little Time curse, and also from the fact that the writers love to say a lot but show very little. Sometimes they won't even say it ON the show!! They'll say it on a tweet or an interview! This makes me extremely angry, if you can't tell!!!
Yen/Geralt suffers from the same, tbh. Even worse, the push for the relationship works to the detriment of Yennefer as a character imo. In s1 we're supposed to see them as this epic tragic love story, but again we are just TOLD that a long time happened in between eps 5 and 6. We are TOLD that they're bad for each other. We see some fucking FLASHBACKS in 2 minutes, with a voice over of them explaining how they felt so bad whenever they woke up and the other was gone. It's bullshit and most people didnt get it! That's why you get 10000 fics believing that this was only the 2nd time they met and it was only a couple months later. Cause that's not how you tell a story.
And THEN we have their reunion in s2, which i still think was terrible writing. It makes sense from Geralt's pov, cause he thought she was dead, but yennefer never thought that. FDJKGNDF yen didnt even THINK about him much unless someone else mentioned him!! And when she did she was mad and hurt! WHAT'S THAT "how is this possible?" LINE, it makes no sense. Their problem wasn't solved. Geralt doesnt even fucking apologize, they dont TALK about it.
So yeah it makes no sense for her character, but it DOES make sense for PLOT PURPOSES. They needed them to be together and happy and show them with Ciri as the Happy Family they could be, so the "betrayal" would hurt more.
It also totally ruins what could've been an interesting progression of Yen's character. You know. A girl who went from pushing her friends into an eel pond cause "sometimes the best thing a flower can do for us is die" to deciding that sacrificing the life of a child for her own benefit wasn't worth it ON HER OWN, and instead gave her the line "i didnt know she was your child"
anyway. ANYWAY DFKJGNDF this got out of control oh god. I haven't had COFFEE yet it's too early for this. sorry for my ramblings. I cant even remember what the ask was about, hold on- AH YEAH. yennskier this season was great, I agree. I liked them already but now I'm fully on board, they deserve the best ❤
KJFDNG ANYWAY IM SORRY ANON, IM SALTY ABOUT SOME THINGS.
#ask#twn critical#s2 spoilers#i gripe about yenralt but i actually do like yenralt btw! i think they CAN be good i just think the netflix writers did a shit job with it
