What Colin Calls Penelope In Bridgerton

Between Part 1 and 2 of season 3, I made a post about wanting to see the numbers on what Colin calls Penelope throughout the show because I thought there was a significant increase in the use of "Penelope" over "Pen" as their relationship matured.

Well, I did a very quick rewatch of seasons 1 and 2 (basically fast-forwarding to the parts I knew Colin and Pen would either interact or Colin would mention Penelope) and a rewatch of season 3. AND I HAVE THE NUMBERS!

So here's a breakdown on what Colin calls Penelope through all three seasons of Bridgerton. I'll give the total as well as if it was said directly to Penelope or to other people.

(If someone wants to make a chart or something with all of this data, I would not hate that)

And if any of you were curious, he called her "my bride-to-be" 1 time (directly), his "future wife" 2 times (directly and indirectly), "my wife" 2 times (both indirectly), and of course, as we all know, he called her "Mrs. Bridgerton" 1 time in the final episode.

i know s7 is effectively a chess board in which tim minear is moving all of his pieces right where he wants them so he can get Back To Business™ in s8 but oh what i would give right now for an episode a la stuck or pinned or future tense with 3-4 low stakes calls that all somehow tie in with the name of the ep and link thematically with the main characters' individual plot lines

#i LIKE s7 don't get me wrong this is not a criticism but everything is happening so much & 4 out of 8 eps so far have been about Big Things #instead of individual calls and it is wild for me to miss calls when my biggest gripe last season was spending *too much* time on calls #but i'm also like 'take me back to the s1-5 episode formula please' aksjdfhd #basically i just want more conversations in the back of the firetruck lol #911 related

This is something I’ve wanted to do since my first one, I have updated my character tierlist from s1 to s2 now that it’s finished! I always think these are fun so I just wanted to post them. As you can see my opinions on many characters changed quite a bit. Also these are in order, even for very minor characters. The “first” one is accurate to the one I made in 2022 when I first watched the show, I just remade it so the tierlists match.

#arcane #I’d like to say I am an avid defender of the fact none of these characters are wholly terrible people #anyway yes some opinions changed majorly #I use to be pretty non chalant about Caitlyn #as a whole I think I have decided her to be pretty low for the main characters on my list #I adore certain moments of her but #am more pissed off by her than not LOL #as for vi #I really did not like her in s1 #but I will be fully transparent and say a lot of that is fandom bias because #I have not gotten along with Vi fans basically the entire time I’ve been in the fandom #but it’s natural I suppose being a fan of her opposite #but still I didn’t really like her too much anyway #I enjoyed her presence much more this season #although im aware many Vi fans are not happy with her character #Jayce and Mel are not major favorites of mine either but I also enjoyed their presence #but I really enjoyed Jayce’s character arc and Mel’s presence even if I was a little confused as a non league fan lol #viktor and singed are so very interesting to me always have been #ekko is truly the boy savior and i hoped that would happen but did not expect the degree of which it occurred #jinx and isha nothing major to say i just adore them #SEVIKA MY BELOVED #probably my favorite character in terms of like. who i would support and want to be friends with if that makes sense #and then silco #oh silco #how i miss you so #OH GOD FORGOT HEIMERDINGER #i HAAAAAATED that mfer #he’s fine now we are cool #LOVED his song i had it on loop at work earlier today #anyway thank you for reading if you did

I know that Wild Kratts is one of those shows where the main [human] characters don't age despite it still being a quasi-continuity driven show, but it does admittedly make me sad that the WK kids from the earlier seasons are now relegated to (presumably permanent) background cameos because of this.

#wild kratts #pbs kids #pbs kids go #gavin kratt #2d gavin kratt #2d martin kratt #2d chris kratt #wild kratts kids #This was a revelation that I've had since watching Our Blue and Green World #But most of the child actors have grown up within the 10+ years of them being on the show #so they'd probably be too old to reprise their roles #Gavin and Ronan haven't had speaking roles since Seasons 4-5 #Not to mention IRL Ronan Kratt to my knowledge has made it pretty big with his soccer career #and probably wouldn't have the time to reprise his role because of this #That one kid from the Fireflies adventure we never saw again #Ellie (that one girl in the red shirt) hasn't had a speaking role since the bat episode #Ronan Kratt actually did come back to voice his character in S7 but it was obviously deeper than how he sounded in S4 #And Nina (the girl from Central America) had 3 different VAs #I'm starting to think that part of the reason Seasons 4-7 gave us so many new kid characters #is because they knew that they wouldn't have the ones from S1-3 come back regularly with the actors growing up #Which on some level I do understand #Even if they can't age up the characters (because that would require completely new/upgraded models being made for a 2-year long season)#I think recasting the kids with similar-sounding actors would be nice #maybe it's just bc I miss Gavin and Ronan idk #But until further notice they're basically just ghosts. Again I didn't realize this until seeing their cameos in one of the recent episodes

so does anyone actually know what happened exactly with subnautica below zero? I feel like ive asked this before but i dont recall

all i know is i remember reading developer blogs where they mentioned that the lead writer changed midway through development and there was some sort of situation where the dev team rewrote absolutely everything that the original writer had done to the point where it was unrecognizeable

cause the early access iterations of SBZ had a drastically different story and plot thread, so playing through it on full release was just... not good

#thunderclap #i tried rly hard to like it but man it was really hard. i just dont understand why they had to change all of the writing for it #especially after so much positive feedback for the early access versions. they had to redo so much voice work so many animations #idk its just so confusing to me still like!!! there was so much work done the game was basically DONE all that was missing was the ending #and they CHANGED ALL OF IT... WHY #it just felt so much sloppier than the first game the environment had nothing to do with the story there wasnt a good place to build a base #the crystal caves and below are just cool set pieces that are terrible to navigate bc there arent any landmarks #idk man its weird. i think about it a lot. i think it says a lot too that no one talked about it online everyone is still messing with S1

I actually have a fic idea but lc is a show that's like. you will never ever have all the information and context until the end. and I am a writer who writes best and more confidently when I have all the info and context at my fingertips. so now I'm just like 🧍‍♂️

#mine musings #it's an AU so it shouldn't even matter actually. but. whatever. i'll still try to write it. it'll take a while #it's more like character exploration anyway. a role reversal (my favorite kind of au)#i.e. what would the emma case look like if cxs is the one who keeps timelooping to save lg?#it's not a power swap or personality swap so i think it'll be an interesting exploration of the limits of their personalities #for example: in this au i think lg is still protective of cxs and acts as the guide. but he's closer to og!timeline lg #so i'm thinking that he's still very principled but perhaps less strict about doing small deviations from the timeline #cxs is still empathetic and reckless and i think that would actually get worse in a timelooping cxs #since he's the possessor he rationalizes to himself that he gets to shield lg from the messy parts of an operation #and how this self-matyrdom pulls at the fragile trust they have. because their partnership is never equal when someone is timelooping #i'm thinking in like the emma case this all comes to a head when emma gets the text from her parents #in S1 lg tells him “it's better not to look”#i think in this au. cxs would have already honed his acting skills and be like “lg. does she check the phone?”#and lg who is protective but a little naive and not as strict with rules is like #cxs looks so sad :( he's been missing his parents lately :( emma doesn't see the text until tomorrow but...#this probably won't change the timeline too much... right? i think cxs needs to feel loved right now :) “yes she checks her phone”#and cxs is like “... are you sure?”#lg: “yes i'm sure”#and then post-dive cxs finds out emma dies but he doesn't tell lg :) he just keeps it to himself :)#bc it's his job to handle all the messy parts :) like the emotions of their clients. their regrets and obsessions. their fates #in his mind. the more lg knows the more he tries to sacrifice himself to save cxs. so it's important that lg is kept in the dark #something something actor/scriptwriter metaphors idk still working on the idea #just. role reversal shiguang... cxs who keeps timelooping bc he has abandonment issues so he can't handle lg dying...#lg basically is like 9S from nier automata who always dooms himself by learning the truth #this could've been a read more instead of a tag essay i'm sorry. i keep forgetting that feature. i am a yapper in the tags #cxs after dragging lg out for dinner so he doesn't catch the news: “hey lg. we followed the script to a tee right?”#“i didn't forget any lines or anything?”#lg (confused) (lying): “yes. aside from getting the financial data part. we did everything right.”#cxs: “okay 😊 i trust you 😊 past or future let them be”#lg (internally): he's giving me his actor voice. he only does that when he's diving. why is he giving me his actor voice. did i mess up--

jesus christ almighty. i watch like an episode and a half of good omens two nights ago on a whim bc, despite starting out as a good omens fan blog back in 2019 and staying solely as such for an entire year and a half, i haven’t actually watched the show since i first watched it in july 2019 (almost FIVE years ago), and all the feelings just flooded back to me, like i never ever left. now i’m reading-reading my good omens fics that i have bookmarked on ao3 in the reverse order that i read them before and i can’t stop. it’s like a craving and a need to consume them. it’s honestly so surreal though, feeling this way again. it’s like a science experiment and i’m the subject.

This is how I organize my story notes. I thought the scene titles looked pretty good today

#original #I'm sorry I took an edible and I can't do an image description right now but hopefully I will remember to come back to this #the blacksmith #the title of the arc is 'the amazing armadillo woman'#I have been stuck on this arc for a thousand years but I'm finally making progress!#the chapter snippet I posted earlier today is like the first part of that I've fully finished #but the good news is that a lot of other parts of the story are more written than I thought they were #that's a weird way to word that. whatever. this is a graphic novel not a novel! my logic is flawless!#if anyone's curious I label them like that so they show up in exact order when sorted alphabetically.#S1.P3.C4.a = season 1 Part 3 chapter 4 - first scene or scene segment #I manage my ADHD partially by breaking things down into manageable pieces.#and I MISmanage my ADHD partially by overcommitting to basically everything bc i have NO CHILL #but like. if this project stops bringing me joy/fulfillment i will quit. but right now it feeds my soul and it has for a couple years now!#i have discovered that if i want a creative project to actually get completed it has to be a true labor of fun and love #FUCK YOU CAPITALISM #i have MUNCHIES TO ATTEND TOO #be careful when you take edibles y'all! because if I didn't know what was a big or small dose of THC I easily #could have missed that I am in possession of some of the highest dosing gummies I've ever had #and I might have just eaten a whole one instead of painstakingly cutting one in half with a knife!#there is no consistency to what is a standard gummy dose and nowadays a lot of the time things are labeled which is awesome #but if you don't understand the significance of the labels then you might assume that a single gummy is a small amount.#I got to tell you being too high is a horrible horrible experience for most people #anyway if you're not sure just start with 5 mg and then work up in 5 mg increments if you spend an evening without that dose affecting you #anyway I think it's important to note that the villainous lair is in fact their childhood treehouse. they are rooming there as adults.#one of the reasons they stop doing crimes at the end is because they are given access to proper housing #it's kind of grouped in with a number of other reasons but it likely not going to surprise anyone when future chapters are like #🔥no longer even attempting to be subtle. this chapter is about homelessness and how cops are pigs.🔥#ahem. but this chapter is just a fun romp! like for real. it is an example of the warmth and happiness possible in this story's world.
