S1: The Birb's Feelings
(pt 1.5 for episode 7 and 2 for season 2 idk when cause shit's crazy rn)
Stolas is one of the most morally controversial characters in the show. With the show revolving around Blitz's relationships, it's natural that the show gives us the most information about him because he is arguably Blitz's most complicated relationship at the moment (I'm not going to include Barbie bc we've literally only seen her for like 5 minutes in one episode which isn't enough information). I wanted to do a quick overview of how I perceive Stolas's feelings throughout the duration of the show in sort of a timeline format
~Episodes 1, 2, 5~
So, at first, it's obvious Stolas doesn't really think of Blitz too romantically and mostly sexually. Ok, completely sexually. However, there's a reason why that people often overlook sometimes. Stella openly said in the season 2 premiere that the only time him and her had sex was to have Octavia. Man's literally been deprived of anything enjoyably sexual his whole life. So when he finally does have sex that's enjoyable for the first time, he naturally wants more of it
As we all know, Stolas isn't the most self aware king (or should I say prince) out there (which is okay; he's still growing and developing as a character). The way he treats Blitz in these first few episodes sort of gives off sex toy vibes. Obviously, this is where Blitz gets that mindset from, that all he is is just a toy for Stolas
But after seeing what Stolas' true personality is now, I highly doubt Stolas knew exactly how he was treating Blitz during this time. Again, self awareness issues. Natural part of his character that, after watching Viv's writing since the Hazbin pilot first released (yeah og right here), I'm positive will be developed on later in the show. So hold your horses people, we're just now 2 episodes away from only being halfway through with the show. Give it time, it'll happen
Anyways, Stolas isn't a bad person (I'll fight anyone over this take, dont play). But he does the wrong things with the right intentions. He treated Blitz the way he did in these first few episodes because Blitz was the first person he's ever enjoyed having sex with. It's a big deal to him as it sort of "awakened" him. I think he was so happy about the sex after around 35 years of nothing, he didn't fully realize how he was treating Blitz in the process
*Not an excuse, but simply a possible explanation for his actions*
~Episode 6~
My favorite episode. Stolas shows up when I.M.P.'s sort of cornered by the agents and scares them shitless with his scawy big birb form. First he makes sure Blitz is okay, then he scolds him for getting caught. Almost like a mother who's mad but cares for their well-being (crying in ghostfuckers)
This may seem small to you guys, but for me this was when Stolas became my favorite character. Not only did this moment show he's more than just the cringy comedic horny relief, it also showed that he cared. Why would he ask if Blitz is okay if he didn't care about him? That has nothing to do with the book. If it got in possession of humans he could literally just kill them in like a second and take it back. Tbh (dont come after me pls) but before this episode I didn't like my first impression of Stolas. Despite the many takes calling the cringiness of his lines in the first few episodes "iconic", I hated it. It was just too much
And in this scene it's not just that he's asking in general, it's how gentle he's being with Blitz. Holding his face and speaking a bit softer with a caring expression on his face. I love it so much (aggghghhghghgahhaagh). I know his attitude changes after a few seconds, but still it was a nice moment that reshaped my perspective on his character for basically the rest of the show
*Like I said before I'l give episode 7 it's own post cause i'm too tired and there's so much to talk abt in that episode*

My updated GMMTV 2024 lineup in order of my preference: (these are only the QLs. Most of the het shows fall under my Indifferent category. If I feel like it, I'll watch them.)
Revamp. Previously: The Vampire Project. Love me some vampires <3. Also, BounPrem.
Sweeth Tooth, Good Dentist. The plot sounds super fluffy and cheesy, so of course I'm in. And no way I'm missing Mark Pakin first lead. (Also, as a dessert-loving person who had many teeth-related problems as a kid, the premise just sounds too relatable. Except the falling in love part with your dentist obviously.) But... JittiRain. I have complicated feelings for her works.
Us the series. You might ask how a GL ended up so low in my list. Personally, it's a bit jarring to see BLs have this safe space/bubble for their gay bois, but GLs are proclaiming love between women as "taboo" off the bat. I also saw this in 23.5, and yeah okay I get it, wlw is seen in a much harsher eye sometimes, but in 23.5 all Ongsa did was go on repeating "But we're both girls..." without explaining the why and resolving it properly. For now, I will not think too much into it, and worry about it when the time comes.
Finished Airing:
We Are. It's absolutely great for my tastes and I get to detox once every week. Love it. Has absolutely no plot but has loads of fluff, and it's something I didn't know I needed in my life until I had it. It's one of my favourite BLs ever, and it's definitely going on my comfort shows and re-watch list. It will forever live on in my memory. I definitely keep coming back to this. Very high on my list and my #1 comfort show.
Only Boo. I kinda like it, but I have zero idea where they plan to go with the current storyline. Fluffy and cute, I'll keep watching, but it probably won't end up high on my favourites list. I'm behind on a couple of episodes (I'll catch up before ep. 12, no worries) and I was right. I do like it. It's something new, and I'd like GMM to explore this more, but it's not ending up very high on my favourites list.
Wandee Goodday. My favourite fake boyfriends with benefits! I'm behind a couple episodes with this too (sorry, my brain has been a little too obsessed with We Are T~T) but overall, I really like it. It's P'Golf, so I never had any doubts, but I do worry a little about the angst. It's bearable till now, so fingers crossed. I really like it! College has reopened, so I'm behind on the last two episodes, but I'm hoping I'll be able to complete it by this week. Final update: I've finished Wandee Goodday! All around, it's a very good BL. It dared to explore, and I'm impressed. Top 20 BLs.
My Love Mix Up! Thailand. I'm still skeptical, not gonna lie. But it's GemFourth. And I didn't feel much about the first few eps of MSP either, and look what happened with that. I still don't know how hard the original will clash with Thai BL's specific style, but I'm willing to take the chance. Please don't disappoint me. I like where this is going. They are so cute and lovely, and that high school vibe is evident. All I need now is for ep 11 curse to not happen. (From what happened in MSP, I think there will be some sort of conflict in the last ep, but as long as I don't have to wait one whole week for it to get resolved, I'm okay with it.) It landed a little wobbly, still quite better off than some other gmmtv series this year though *side eyes The Trainee* so I'll give it a solid 7.5 (I mark like every single point costs me though, so a series might be a tiny bit better than I rate it). Could it have been better? Well, yes. Was it enjoyable? Yep.
The Trainee. Well, it's OffGun's usual tsundere seme/innocent uke. Office romance though- that's new. I guess they finally graduated from university 😭😂 I don't feel anything about it right now, but let's see what happens when it starts airing. Rating changed. It's only been four episodes (and I missed today, that is ep 4, because I have college early tomorrow) but I like where this is going. I think it's going to be the typical 5-7 romance ep pattern, but as long as they don't bring back the ep 11 curse, it's all good. Rating changed again. I- I don't know what to say. I've already said everything in this post. They did something worse to this than make it bad; they made it mediocre. I feel like I was watching Tae and Bamhee get their shit together just to stuff all that progress down the drain willingly and got teeny tiny glimpses of JaneRyan in the background. It was downhill from ep 5 or 6 and I was really hoping they would save it last minute, but nope. It hit rock bottom and kept going. It became a bit painful to watch, honestly. I'll leave the rating to y'all.
Peaceful Property. After TayNew outdid themselves in the beautiful soft little thing that was Cherry Magic Thailand (anyone wanna join my Cherry Magic Th propaganda?), I can't wait for this series. Also: if they give me besties, it'll be a hard pill to swallow but I'll be fine, but if they give me bromance, I'll commit homicide. This series is making permanent changes to my brain. ffs, I'll even take bromance that's how much I'm loving it. It's also very sociological, and holds up a not-so-subtle commentary on class difference and oppression so bonus points. For now I'm finding it absolutely *chef's kiss*. Will it finally pull me up from the dump I'm in? Well, I really hope so. It was a mess but I loved it.
Kidnap. I'll be honest, I'd almost completely forgotten about this series until the trailer popped up. I'm quite a few eps behind, but I think, personally, it will probably end up somewhere in my top 25. I'm SO behind on this, I'll update when I catch up T-T
Pluto the series. A GL? With NamtanFilm? I'm in. Honestly though, I really am liking this and I'd love for GMMTV to land this properly. I love Ai-oon so much. Also, what in the Not Me- 😭 I have a few problems with it, but otherwise it really is an amazing series, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a watch.
Currently Airing:
The Heart Killers. Pretty sure this is #1 on most of y'alls lists and for good reason too. My reasons? Pretty simple. I love action, mafia and romcom and this is all in one. And also FirstKhao and JoongDunk so- I have no idea what's happening, I'm just here for the ride <3 I still have no idea what's happening, but gods is the ride wild. This series will be my death.
Perfect 10 liners. What put me off in the trailer itself is the clear discrimination based on looks/physical appearances. It also seems like at this point they're just trying to give each pairing some screen time this year but have run out of plots, and are thus shoving pairings into series like it's the metro/tube/subway/whatever you call it in your country during rush hour. Will I like it? We'll see. After New Siwaj gave me the masterpiece that is We Are, and crushed my doubts like mosquitoes, I'm willing to give Perfect 10 Liners a good strong chance. The premise still bothers me a bit, but I'm keeping an open mind. This is giving me We are nostalgia and I'm mostly watching just for the comedy and the PondSand crumbs. The main couple is meh though, I can't wait for ep 9. I absolutely adore YothaGun and I'm actively looking forward to the next episode. I have a couple small reservations about YothaGun, but otherwise I'm enjoying it <3
ThamePo/Heart That Skips A Beat. It seems soft and sweet, though it does have the secret/forbidden relationship overtones. It is soft and sweet, but it also so real, heartbreakingly so. I love it. I docked a point out of pure pettiness because it made me cry in the very first episode. If it can make me (grudgingly) make me give that point back, I will give it a place in my Sacred 8. Peace and love in this world. I love my little gay bois so much 🥺🫶🏽
Ossan's Love. I found the trailer hilarious, but trailers, especially pilot trailers lie. Also, I'm not hearing the greatest things about the original, but I haven't watched it so I will reserve judgement. If I like it I'll like it I guess. It's so fun (gleefully). I love it. It's just been one episode, but I know this will be wonderful (or a flop of epic proportions). This is peak comedy and I am here for it. I'm one ep behind, but the next one falls on my birthday so that better be fluffy as heck.

Ep. 12 "Juggernaut" Review
This episode was certainly fast paced. I wished it was a teensy bit longer because I want more of my boys. That being said, the juggernaut sequences were absolutely fantastic. Everything from Hunter's crazy maneuvers to the TK troopers actually being competent were phenomenal. I loved seeing the crazy ride that our boys took as they raced against the Empire's forces and the lack of road. It reminded me of the tank chase in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Thankfully, both Indy and the Batch make it out (thank you Phee).
Also, shoutout to that one Steve Blum voice cameo for random imperial. He's awesome.
As usual, spoilers below
My discord friend and I both theorized that Rampart would return as a prisoner with information and boy, were we right. I'm just gonna say it, Rampart is hot with the scruffy look. Yes, I still hate his guts and he's still an ahole. But I have a thing for the scruffy look. This is because James Norrington was one of my crushes in Pirates of the Caribbean. I don't make the rules, ok?
Ngl, it was cool to see him return. Prison hasn't been kind to him, but it's clear he hasn't changed one bit. He might give up info out of spite, but his views on others he perceives as lesser haven't changed. I wasn't surprised when he had no clue what an Ugnaught was nor when he referred to Crosshair by his number. Unlike Kallus or Cross, who both learned from their mistakes (and obviously had honor), Rampart remains greedy. Although he offers information, he could sell the Batch out in exchange for freedom. We'll see how well that goes. Crosshair was right to be wary.
Side note: seeing Rampart being thrown around like luggage when he was stunned was hilarious. He deserved it though.
Speaking of Cross, his snark was golden. You tell them Cross. Snark aside, Crosshair is not ok. Even mentioning Tantiss is a trigger for him. He doesn't want to go back nor think about anything related to the place. But we all know he will because Omega needs him. She saved his life and he loves her dearly. But I'm glad Hunter and Wrecker didn't hold it against him. Although, I wished we got more dialogue on that whole situation. At least both of his brothers know that Cross didn't hand her over willingly or what not. And Cross trusts that Omega's choice wasn't without reason. Also, Cross' theme kicks in after his hand starts trembling and he needs a hug. He's been through so much.
The interaction with Phee was also really sweet. Crosshair finally got to hear the iconic "Brown Eyes." And the fact that Tech clearly talked about Crosshair in a positive light to Phee makes my heart melt. Tech doesn't know how much Crosshair has changed, but that love he had for him never went away. I am in tears. I also have no doubt that Tech would be impressed with Phee's stealthy drop off of the boys.
Something else I enjoyed was seeing the brothers work together like to good ol' days. It really reminded me of the earlier seasons and CW and just how much I missed it. Season 3 has been so heavy and dark that moments like these make me happy. Cross and Wrecker using battle plans while Hunter drives was so much fun to watch.
And then there's Hemlock. I can't wait for him to fall off Tantiss and die. He's so creepy and gross. I cringe whenever I see his stupid face. The way he showed Omega the children and was like "this is your new home" just made me want to hate him more.
And Emerie! She feels so trapped between her duties and affection for Omega. But she will choose a side in the end and I have a feeling it'll be Omega. My theory is that Omega will encourage her to help her and the children escape. Emerie will provide assistance and probably be killed by Hemlock.
someone please tell me how Echo is doing off screen. I love you sweet Echo; just stay off screen and you'll be safe. but also come back bc i miss your presence
Anyways, that's all for now. We're in the endgame now fellas. 3 more episodes. I will post some theories. Until next time, take care!

"But why...? You'll never be happy with being an idol if you'll pretend to be someone you're not... How about... you join MMJ for a livestream? You can see how it is on our side without pretending!"
✧ when you got together, she noticed how your whole life is actually based on lied and... it didn't made her untrustful of you but more worried... and she decided to hopefully help you!

Did you watch the atla live action and if yes, did you like it?
Hello,
Yes, I saw it, and I actually watched the latest episode last night. So your question comes at the right time!
Overall, I have a fairly neutral impression. I don't find it bad, nor do I find it stunning. There are some pleasant surprises and moments that let me a bit perplex regarding the narrative choices, which I will elaborate on.
First of all, I'm quite pleased with the casting. I found the actors to be convincing for most of them, especially considering they don't have long experience.
The special effects seemed a bit cheap to me compared to what the numerous trailers had led us to believe, and the lighting is rather poor. It's too obvious that it's shot in a studio. I found some of the choreography awkward, for example, during one of Azula's training sessions when she fights an earthbending prisoner and defends herself with a leaping kick. It looked like someone was throwing a panicked cat in front of them and I almost barked out laughing!
Regarding the plot, I initially enjoyed it but gradually began to doubt the decision to merge several episodes into one. The action unfolds a bit too fast to my taste and the characters passed by without us really having time to feel attached to them . It feels like Aang, Sokka, and Katara met three days ago at the end of the season, which doesn't make Katara's rapid progress very believable. I understand she's prodigious, but the fact that she becomes a master in just a few weeks thanks to a scroll and some silly and dubious advice from Jet isn't very credible.
I was a bit upset that Aang never tries to waterbend in 8 episodes, not even once, and doesn't try to encourage Katara to fight against the outdated traditions defended by Pakku, although his intentions (protecting his friends and preventing them from fighting) are understandable. They eventually gave this role to Sokka, which didn't bother me. I know many fans objected to the authors removing Sokka's sexism. That's not the only thing that changed about him. The new Sokka is imbued with much more responsibility and shows a maturity that we didn't see in the original show. Here, I say, why not? Although I sometimes miss Sokka's jokes.
I'm tired of secondary characters who seem to be there to amuse the audience while enhancing the other characters great qualities. Not that Sokka is that simplist in the cartoon but still...
Momo is ugly. As well as Appa. But I won't dwell on it. It's a matter of fact.
Aang is quite convincing but a bit too serious compared to the one we knew. However, it makes sense given his backstory.
Let's move on to my favorite part: the Fire Nation! I'm absolutely convinced by this new Iroh, and I totally share June's opinion: he's si cute. I want him to bé my uncle! I like that they accentuated his grandfatherly side and his relationship with Zuko, which is very touching. They still managed to maintain some ambiguity in him during the scene where he shows no remorse when an earthbender who captured him conducts his "trial."
I really liked all the scenes with Zuko, which respect the original character while adding more humanity to him. Making him the captain of the division he wanted to save from the general's Machiavellian plans was a good addition imo.
Zhao annoyed me much of the time, but I never liked this character who, for me, does nothing but delay Azula's appearance. Making him Azula's pawn was interesting, however, even though I sometimes found him a bit ridiculous and unbelievable and Azula's intentions seem unclear sometimes.
I am absolutely under new Ozai's charm, and it's not just about his abs (although...), but this new, more nuanced and manipulative version of the character makes me want to explore him in a whole new light and change his role a bit from what I usually assign him in my fics.
Finally, let's finish this review with my favorite of all time: Azula! I obviously love the fact she appears in the first season and the background given to her, a brilliant foreshadowing for the breakdown that inevitably awaits her. You feel the writers saw her potential as a redeemable vilain and I'm here for that. I wish there were flashbacks of her past and how her relationship with Zuko deteriorated and was once. I appreciated that she doesn't smirk when her brother is burned but her eyes shine with unshed tears insteaf. I love that we are able feel the pressure and terror Ozai inspires in her. Even though I had doubts at first, the actress plays the range of emotions that the princess experiences very well, and I think it was a good choice, even if she is physically quite different from what I imagine. (But I don't want to get into that territory).
Yet I regret that they reinforced Azula's "power-hungry" side that much, and I hope they will nuance this aspect of her character in the upcoming seasons. Especially to maintain her ambiguity and the complexity of her relationship with Zuko. Needless to say, if there isn't an adaptation of the episodes "The Beach" or "The Awakening," I'll make a scandal. Similarly, Zuko better show love and kindness towards her in the end and not be the insensitive jerk who gets rid of her without a word about the fate he reserved for her!
I liked that they didn't make Azula a simple prodigy but showed how hard she worked to get there. It was nice to have Mai and Ty Lee to convey Azula's feelings, but their role is totally static, to the point that it's a bit caricatural. Speaking about them: There's a problem with Ty Lee's costume and hairstyle, which are great for a cartoon but very unconvincing in real life! But the actress who plays Ty Lee seems perfect for the role!
So, that's my review. I'm pretty happy with what I saw, and I also think there are enough negative points to know that if something displeases me in this adaptation, I'll be able to distance myself. So, I don't feel uncomfortable.
Thanks for your question, and I'd like to know your own point of view!

Another day of my Granada Sherlock Holmes marathron I'm on, and it's time to watch The creeping man! The weirdly out of place science fiction story reminiscent of Jekyll&Hyde with the highly creepy professor
Starting with the prelude: I don't like that they changed the daughter's reaction to the figure in front of her window from frozen terror to fainting. The realistic and sympathetic depiction of a common yet often misunderstood reaction to danger - simply freeze - stood out in the story to me. I do love, however, that she treathened to end her engagement to her fiancee if he didn't believe her and contact Sherlock Holmes. You go, girl. Insist he listens to you
Holmes alone at Baker street, obviously feeling lonely and pining for Watson was wonderfully done. He just misses his Watson to talk to! Jeremy Brett's expression as he stared out of the window tore at my heart - the pained longing in those eyes and around his mouth, oh my. Edward Hardwicke's depiction of exasperation when he turns up is also really well done! I appreciate how they show Watson standing up against Holmes and telling his opinion, but still, that tension between them, kind of hard to watch! The sad "maybe I'll see you tomorrow" as Watson angrily walks out and slams the door, oh my dear, I want to hug him
"He is, after all, three times her age" *shudders* Glad the episode doesn't brush that fact aside. And even further expands on it by adding a conversation between the two daughters. It really shows how young and vulnerable the professor's fiancee still is - quite literally his daughter's age, perhaps even younger - scared to stand up for herself or even tell him her preferences. The impication that this is an unequal relationship and that he's taking advantage of her is strong
"Hardly an adress to inspire confidence" Sure, professor in being an asshole "I have never sought to inspire confidence in others, I have quite enough of my own" What a line 💙 Great expension on the canon material here
"Forgive me mr. Holmes I should have told you myself, but-" "But you didn't" Holmes being sassy:)
Loved the scene where the two rascals pull a knife upon Watson and you can see the coffins on the other side of the streets. Great visual storytelling
Poor Lestrade, having to call out Holmes and utterly failing to impress him. The way Lestrade's (played by Colin Jaevons) eyes nearly popped out :D The characterisation in this series of Holmes - as a man who, the more he is harrassed and threathened, the more he won't let go of the case, is amazing
Holmes inside of the monkey's cage to investigate, oh I love him
The professor actually calls his fiancee "my dear child" I HATE HIM
Oh she calls off the engagement in this episode! Good for her! Now where did you get that unethical monkey poison for professor? She doesn't want you! Now I hope he leaves her alone. Somehow, I doubt it...
"Are you game?" "Delighted" That's his Watson 💙
Miss Pressbury looks gorgeous in that smart suit dress in the finale, would give a lot to have that costume
The monkey professor in the tree made me laugh so much, they really went all in on that!... actually, never mind that, turned extremely creepy once he tried to get to his former bethored in her bedroom. Good dog for tearing his throat out
Glad they left the social darwinism out of Holmes speech at the end. "Well, I'll leave the philosophy to you, Holmes" "Quite the best Lestrade, I always do" Haha, good for you Watson
The racist caricature music figurine, more so than the special effects, is what really makes this feel dated. This episode is as old as I am and the makers clearly thought it cute. Jeremy Brett dancing to the music, however, is adorable
I did not like the original story much, so I'm surprised how much I liked this episode. By adding some material, changing some things around, and using the visual medium to their advantage - not to mention fabulous acting - the makers actually really made this work. It's a little corny, but in an enjoyable way

for monogatari, top three favorite characters and ops so far? :3
MY FAVORITES SO FAR YOU SAY? Well after thinking on it for a bit. I...put a LOT more thought into it than I thought I would, so for the sake of tags i'm gonna put this under a read more fdkjhfgd.
For the characters i'd say it's...
3 - Tsukihi Araragi. I made a sorta short post about her a few days ago that goes over a lot that I like about her, but to sum it up here...she's just such a fun character to see on screen with all of her varied designs with each arc. It makes for great visuals, and a good indicator of what point in time an arc takes place in when the series gets funny with it's chronology! Her straightforwardness as a character is such a huge strength that helps her stand out too, given how many layers you typically have to observe and peel back for other characters in this series. And her bluntness in conversation serves an amazing double purpose as both a tool for comedy, and for pushing forward other characters around her like Koyomi and Nadeko.
2 - Shinobu Oshino. It was actually really hard to decide this one, if only because there's SO many characters that I love to death. But I think Shinobu fits this spot perfectly. I really wasn't all that impressed with her in Bakemonogatari in the sense that like. I KNEW she was popular but didn't see why watching the series back as a teen. Also her hat was stupid and i'm glad she stopped wearing it. But unlike when I was a teen, Kizumonogatari was out, and my group decided to watch in Book Order...and then it clicked Oh. I see why Shinobu is so popular now. It made me understand just how big of a deal her choosing to speak again in Nisemonogatari was. And with Meme departing from the story, I think having her take his place as the Apparition Encyclopedia was a GREAT decision, not only because of her physical bond to Koyomi allowing her to appear whenever, it also gives us her AMAZING dynamic with him too. I genuinely love what a like....Scooby Doo problem solving duo they've become by the point of the story i'm at now. And as Onimonogatari taught me, there's STILL so much more of her to learn about. Also her laugh is cute. Ka-ka-ka!
1 - Tsubasa Hanekawa. Given my current icon, banner and...I dunno, HALF of my monogatari reblog tag, is this a surprise? I wanna write a whole entire post dedicated to her someday once I finish the whole series and read the novel versions too, but Hanekawa is just...okay, to try and keep it short. She's easily one of the most dynamic characters in the entire cast. As soon as Bake episode 1 starts, you already know that her and Koyomi have a history together, we know something was up with her and the story just, teases it all through Bake until it comes to a head in Tsubasa Cat. Kizu pulls the camera back to see how her friendship with and love for Koyomi began (and they're SO fun and sweet becoming friends with each other the whole arc), Nise shows that she's...SAYING she's changed, even though we know she really hasn't, before NekoBlack helps us establish the Full Picture of who Hanekawa is, and finally showing her FINALLY learning and growing for REAL in NekoWhite. I'd be doing a disservice if I didn't mention Black Hanekawa as well, for being a hilarious charatcter in her own right, and adding in a special degree of personal relatability to me personally in how i've experienced things in my life. She's just...I have so much more to say but she's just REALLY special to me is all.
And i'd like to give special mentions to Kaiki Deishuu and Sengoku Nadeko. I have no doubt that Nadeko is gonna be a top fiver by the end, but I wanna see the Conclusion of her main arc since Otorimonogatari is really only the beginning of it. And Kaiki is just a really fun character to think on with his faker philosophy, and he's a delight whenever he shows up just doing mundane things like eating donuts or being a weird uncle for Kanbaru.
As for my favorite OPs, this should go quicker i'd say...
3 - Platinum Disco. It's...It's Platinum Disco. It and Renai Ciruclation are like THE Monogatari songs right? At least they were when I was a teen. It's peppy, it's upbeat, it's got some fun clashing lyrics, the visuals are so iconic that the series itself memed on it, it's...it's Platinum Disco. You know?
2 - Mousou Express. For a song that I heard for the first time...lemme check...FIVE days ago? It shot up insanely high on my list. I feel kinda bad mentioning Renai Circulation twice in a row without it actually being one of the answers, but the way that Mousou Express just...flips Renai Circulation on it's head, both in the lyrics being far more openly possessive and obsessive than the cutesywootsie lyrics of the original, and the visuals quite literally being made up mostly in part of Renai's visuals in reverse...it sets up the turn Naedko's character is going to be taking AMAZINGLY, even before her spiral fully begins partway through the arc (from Our PoV anyway). Kanahana's singing is also just...top notch.
1 - Chocolate Insomnia. Given my current icon, banner, half of my monogatari reblog tag and...my answer above, is this much of a surprise? Much in the same way that Mousou Express is an amazing indicator of the direction Naedko's character would be going, Chocolate Insomnia is SUCH an amazing indicator of not only where Hanekawa will being going in the arc, but an amazing look back on how far she's COME since the beginning of the story. Opening with a heartfelt apology, before literally singing about the realizations she's come to by this point in the story, set to a FAR more openly hopeful and cheerful sounding song compared to her other two openings it's...it's just a masterpiece of a song. I love it so much.
And special mentions to Marshmallow Justice just being a really fun opening with REALLY good vocals from Eri Kitamura. And to White Lies for just being one of the most GORGEOUS openings visually. Absolute treat for the eyes to go with the more subdued song and vocals.
#merry mumbles#monogatari#shinobu oshino#tsukihi araragi#tsubasa hanekawa#nadeko sengoku#thank you so much for the ask i have been Dying to spill about stuff like this kfjhdsf#i'm sorry it's SO long

--//--
It was Kate who told you about the new students.
It was Tuesday, and the school was full of burbs all over the hall. You were late and a little irritated because you had argued with your father on the way - Steve Rogers could be many things, and stubborn was most of them. - and so you weren't the least bit interested in the daily gossip that your colleagues might have.
Still, Kate was one of your favorite people and she was so sweet that you didn't have the heart to ignore her attempts to get close during her freshman year, and now, she was a sophomore and you were graduating, and even though you weren't in the same classes, you were inseparable.
"I hear they're the mayor's kids, and Y/N, you have to see, the two of them look like they stepped off a magazine cover." She excitedly narrates her encounter with the new students in the cafeteria. "If they weren't wearing their Avengers High uniforms, I would have mistaken them for models, I swear."
You chuckle, finishing picking up your books and closing your locker.
"Be careful not to drool too much, Bishop. Or your girlfriend will get jealous." You tease, but Kate doesn't laugh, assuming a momentarily fearful expression and looking around to see if Yelena wasn't somewhere listening in on the conversation.
The reaction only makes you laugh harder.
It takes three periods before you finally see the new students. By then, you have heard half the school talking about them, and you know they are twins, and yes, really the mayor's children because Darcy Lewis shows you a picture on her cell phone with the whole family landing in the local paper.
"They're cute, but it's no big deal." You mutter to Kate after looking at the photo, and she and Darcy share a nasal laugh.
"You'll change your mind when you see them in person." Your friend says, looking forward again because Professor Harkness has just entered the room.
Darcy puts her cell phone away, and you sigh, "I highly doubt it, I study with the most beautiful girls in the world, I'm not easy to impress. " You compliment them charmingly and Darcy and Kate laugh softly, rolling their eyes in good humor.
It's not a lie what you said, yet when between the penultimate and last period, a lost-looking girl bumps into you in the hallway, you are momentarily speechless at the greenish irises in front of you.
"Sorry, I didn't see you." She mutters in apology, stooping to grab the book she has knocked over and return it to you.
As you pick it up, you don't let go. "But I did see you. You're the new girl, right?"
She smiles in surprise, hugging her own notebook. "Yeah, that's me. I'm Wanda. We just moved here from New York-"
You raise a hand in the air and Wanda falls silent in confusion, but you smile gently.
"Why don't you tell me that, and whatever you want, over coffee?"
She blushes very hard, opening her mouth a few times before giving a shy laugh. "S-sure, I like coffee."
You move closer and take out the pen attached to her notebook. You take the cap off with your teeth, and Wanda watches the item with hot cheeks the entire time you are pulling out a sheet of paper and writing your number in her notebook.
As you return the pen, you smile at her. "Don't forget to text, I'm dying to know the end of your story." You tell her, offering a gentle nod before leaving.
Wanda sighs loudly, leaning her back on the lockers. A silly smile fills her face, and she stands for a good few minutes trying to understand what just happened and why her legs are so shaky.
–//–
You go out for coffee after class on Thursday, and for thirty whole minutes, you try not to stare at the legs exposed by her cheer skirt.
Wanda is so beautiful it hurts, and her near cluelessness only makes her more attractive.
You clear your throat quietly because she is a really very interesting person and you want to know more about her.
You learn that she was born in Sokovia - which explains her delightful accent that distracts you with every word - and that she moved to New York when her parents divorced. She is the younger twin, but not the sister, as her father has another girl named Lorna who is in middle school. It is also Wanda's first time attending school, and when she says this you widen your eyes slightly.
"Are you kidding me?" You question pushing the coffee creamer with your straw, she laughs lightly.
"No, I swear." She assures you humorously, mimicking your movements without realizing it in her own drink. "My dad is the overprotective type, and Pietro and I have been homeschooled all our lives. But it's senior year and somehow we managed to convince him that it was an important experience. Pietro wants a scholarship for athletics and I, well, I'd like to do cinema."
You smile. "So you like movies?"
Her face lights up even more. "I love movies! I know it's a very competitive industry, but my dream is to work as a film director! I love writing stories, and it would be so amazing to bring them to the screen and... I'm boring you, aren't I?" she interrupts, her cheeks a little red. "Sorry, I get too excited-"
"No, you're not." You interrupt her, "I like hearing you talk, go ahead."
Wanda blushes, even more, lowering her embarrassed gaze to her own lap before smiling shyly.
She tells you more about her dream of being a filmmaker, and about her family not liking the idea of her not pursuing a more secure career, and you make a point of encouraging her to do what she likes and not what others think is right, and Wanda is so flustered she hardly knows how to thank you.
You realize that it is getting late, and if you don't come back now, your father will probably find a new problem to discuss, so you tell Wanda that you have to go. She seems sad about this ending, and yet is still too shy to call you out on anything else. When she builds up the courage to do so, you think your heart won't hold out from all the cuteness.
"We could... I don't know, have tea? Or soda?" She invites clumsily, and you laugh softly just enough to make the redness of her cheeks worse.
Finishing putting on your jacket, you retort:
"I have a better idea, filmmaker girl. Want to go over to the house for Netflix&Chill?"
It's a test or a joke with real intent, and Wanda falls right in.
"Of course! I have like a dozen recommendations, and we could watch something by Kubrick or maybe Burton..."
You bite your lip, you're the one who fell. For her, and it was in the blink of an eye.
"Sure, Wanda, any movie you want." That's what you answer, deciding to keep the not going to be much-watching part to yourself.
–//–
Wanda lived on the edge of Westview, which meant that you could use the subway. But part of you wanted to impress her, so when Bucky let you use his motorcycle, you didn't miss your chance.
"Don't scratch it." He repeated the instructions, the key at face height. You raised your hand to take it, and he lifted the item a little further. "And what's our deal?"
You rolled your eyes. "Three hours out of the house for you to have a date night with my father. I could sue you for the trauma." You joked making him laugh before you managed to steal the key.
"Just text me when you're on your way. And please-"
"No scratches." You completed with an impatient sigh.
While your stepfather had his date night with your dad - whom you were avoiding as much as possible mainly because the deadline for sending admission letters was coming up and you had no idea what you were going to do and didn't want him pressing ideas on you - you made your way across town to see Wanda Maximoff and her stupidly adorable face.
Just as you imagined, she was excited by your arrival on the motorcycle, equally so from Pietro who started asking you questions as soon as you properly introduced yourself, but you noticed that Wanda's father was not too happy.
"You must be Y/N." He said as soon as Wanda guided you to the fancy balcony like all the rest of the house and the well-molded garden.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Maximoff." You spoke, which made him chuckle slightly.
"Actually it's Lehnsherr, Maximoff is their mother's maiden name." He clarified, and you feigned interest, nodding softly.
"Papa, Y/N, and I are going to watch a movie in my room." Said the girl - She was wearing a long sweatshirt and shorts that disappeared with the garment covering it, and you were having a hard time trying to not imagine what it would be like to slide your hand under there.
Erik looked you up and down as if he could read all your naughty intentions at once.
"Open door always, Wanda." He warned with his arms crossed, and Wanda chuckled confusedly, pulling you by the hand toward her bedroom.
You heard Erik ask Pietro questions about you, but your gaze was more attentive to the movement of Wanda's hips leading upstairs.
"Your house is quite beautiful, Wanda." You comment once she leads you into the bedroom. "Not as beautiful as the owner, of course."
She giggles embarrassed at the compliment, and you take the opportunity to kick the door discreetly shut. "Come sit here, I've set everything up for us."
She did, you could see the laptop, the drinks, and the popcorn. A proper movie session with Wanda in her fancy room, and you sighed lightly as you took off your shoes and jacket to sit on the bed next to her.
"What movie did you pick for us, pretty girl?" Your compliments were visually making her flustered, but she still said nothing, adjusting herself on the bed to reach for her laptop. "I was thinking of watching some classic, so I've sorted out some options for us."
She showed you a list that made you smile warmly. All the movies were good, but none had what you wanted to do with Wanda.
"I have a better suggestion, and I'm sure you've never seen this one." You told her as you moved the laptop to your own lap to search. She tried to peek, and you pulled away with a laugh. "No peeking, it's a surprise."
She laughed, shaking her head but holding herself in place. " All right."
"You're Jewish, right?" Your question surprised her a little, but she murmured in agreement the next second. You noticed many things on the way to her room, including the Jewish items that filled the blanks in your head about what you knew about the girl next to you. "Another reason for you to love this movie."
"So mysterious." She murmured humorously getting a soft chuckle from you. Once you had chosen and the start credits began to roll, Wanda bit her lip curiously. "What's it about?"
You crossed your ankles together. "Temptation."
Wanda looked at you. "What?"
"Watch the movie, movie girl." You retorted amused and she chuckled softly before turning her attention back to the screen.
For the first few minutes of Disobedience, Wanda was a little upset. The story is sad in its complexity, and dealt with the fanatical religious obsession of a Jewish community and the harm to the protagonists' freedom. And at first, she didn't catch what the film was really about.
She thought it was sweet that you had brought a movie about her family's religion until the first kissing scene made her cheeks blush.
"Oh, they were a couple..." The words escape you before she can count them, and you lick your lips to contain your own anxiety.
"Do you have a problem with that?" Your whisper is curious in totality, and Wanda laughs in confusion, taking her gaze off the screen.
"What? No, of course not." She retorts, turning her attention back to the film. " They are sweet. I mean, the story is sad as hell, but they're sweet."
You smile, a relief filling your chest. You are about to make a comment when the door opens, and the moody figure of Erik appears.
"I told you I wanted the door open." He reminisces as Wanda pauses the movie.
"Sorry, papa, it must have closed with the wind." She half-heartedly clarifies, and you bite your tongue to hold back the impatient sigh of having your moment interrupted.
"I have a dinner with the Congress people now, I just came to say good night, dear. And please don't delay Miss Rogers' stay here too long, driving late at night is dangerous."
You are about to say you will go as soon as the movie is over when Wanda comments:
"She could sleep here." And Erik hesitates just as you do. Wanda swallows dryly. "If you want to, of course. What if it's okay with you, papa?"
You have trouble hiding your smile, and Erik looks ready to make up an excuse when his cell phone rings. He sighs impatiently.
"Sure, we have a guest room. Good night to you." He says before answering the phone and leaving the room, talking about work until his voice fades from the distance.
Wanda leaves the movie paused, a confused expression on her face.
"He's acting so weird. This bed is big enough, why would I put you on the other side of the house?"
You stare at her and give an impressed laugh when you realize that Wanda simply doesn't know why.
"Wanda, your father doesn't want me to sleep in the same bed as you."
She frowns in confusion, "Why?"
You tilt your head. "He thinks we're going to fu-"
"Hey, I'm going at Quill's, can you cover for me if Dad asks for me when he gets back from his fancy dinner?" Pietro interrupts your speech as he enters the room, already holding the keys to the white pickup truck you've seen him drive a few times to school. Wanda blinks away from your intense gaze, a bit flustered.
"S-sure, Pietro, good night." She says very quickly, and the other looks between you and her with a suggestive expression.
"You two behave yourselves, huh? Don't do anything I wouldn't do." He teases, and Wanda grimaces. You chuckle.
"Sure thing, mary jane." You retort without hesitation and Pietro stops smiling at that instant. Wanda doesn't understand and probably doesn't know that Pietro smokes pot behind the gyms, and so before she can question the nickname, Pietro is muttering goodbye as he leaves the room.
"What was that...?" She asks but you shake your head, giving the movie a play.
"Let's keep watching, it's getting to the best part." Wanda sighs a little as you adjust and stay close enough for her to smell your perfume completely, effectively taking all attention away from the movie.
But she had to pay attention when the first moans started. In an instant, her cheeks burned, and Wanda tried to look as cool about it as she could.
You were tapping your fingers on your stomach, completely at ease with the intimate scene playing out on the screen in front of you, and it is impossible for Wanda to do the same.
Once she shifts uncomfortably, and you notice her clenching her thighs, you sigh.
"How was your first kiss?" Your question almost makes her choke, but Wanda is thankful that at least she has an excuse to look away from the movie's sex scene.
"Hum, I've never..."
"Really?" You cut her off gently, adjusting your weight on her arm to face her, and Wanda feels very nervous about all the attention. She nods, and you smile. "It's really hard to believe you didn't have a line of suitors."
Wanda chuckles embarrassedly, shaking her head. "Well, I don't know many people, you know? It's not like I had classmates studying at home. And when I wasn't studying, I was at some officional event, being my dad's perfect little girl."
The hidden bitterness in her sentence made you raise an eyebrow softly, the interest burning in your mind.
"I know the feeling, my father is a military man and loves to keep up appearances." You say, quietly closing the laptop in Wanda's lap. "But unlike you, I do whatever it takes to annoy him."
"Very naughty of you." She mutters half breathlessly because you are leaning over her suddenly. But it's only to put the closed laptop on the nightstand, and once you notice the way Wanda is blushing and breathing out of rhythm, a smile forms on your face.
"Wanda, I would like to be your first kiss." You whisper to her, and instead of pulling away, you rest a hand on the side of her head. "If you want that of course."
She chokes softly but nods almost frantically. "Yeah... I'd like that."
"Let's start with lesson one then. Close your bedroom door." You guide low against her lips, using every mental control to pull yourself away from her. Wanda gasps, but quickly moves in shaky steps off the bed to the bedroom door, and you hide a smile as you tuck yourself into her bed.
She surprises you a little when with trembling fingers, she locks the door.
"Just... for precaution." She clarifies embarrassed about the look on your face, but you just shrug.
"I'm not complaining." You tease. "Come here."
Wanda swallows dryly and wastes no time in obeying, walking back to the bed. She sits down a little further in front of you, and you hold out your hand for her to take, and once she does, you pull her gently to sit on your lap.
Wanda is trembling with nervousness, and her skin is warm to the touch. You lick your lips, trying to control yourself and not grab her right there and kiss and fuck her until she can't remember her own name, and it takes a lot of willpower when she looks so good all over you.
"You've never really kissed anyone, not even a small peck?" You ask sweetly, bringing your hand to her cheek for her to look at you. When she denies it with her head, you move closer. "Give me a peck then." She does so on the spot, and it's quick as expected, but it turns her cheeks into tomatoes. You smile, "Again. Longer this time."
She sighs, but nods and breaks the distance, pressing her lips over yours.
Instead of letting go, you place your hand on her cheek and kiss her back firmly, eliciting a surprised and affected sigh in return. She opens her mouth to breathe, and you slide your tongue inside.
Wanda makes a noise with her throat, moving restlessly in your lap but you guide the kiss until she gets used to the sensation and soon her breathless sighs sound like gasping pleas, her hands move to your shoulders and she tries to deepen.
Everything in her body begs for more - more of your hands, squeezing her waist, more of your tongue sucking hers, and more of you, everywhere you can touch. She feels hot and bothered, and it is as new and fantastic as it is overwhelming.
You kiss her until she starts to move her hips impatiently against your thigh, and then you know you have to stop now or you won't be able to pull it off later. The way your heart speeds up when she looks at you with puffy lips and dark eyes once the kiss is over only confirms this.
"Is everything okay?" Wanda speaks first, her voice shaky and husky, her face inches from yours.
You take a deep breath, offering her a small smile.
"Sure, I should just go home." You say, and you are already moving her off of you in the next moment, missing the other's confused look.
Once you have your shoes on, Wanda can't contain her concern.
"I...I did it wrong didn't I?"
You frown, turning to her as you put on your jacket. Wanda looks down at her own lap.
"You didn't do anything wrong, Wanda." You tell her, moving closer again to the end of the bed. "Listen." You say gesturing to her ear, and she is confused for just a second.
Next, she can hear her father outside the house, car noises, and something that sounds like complaints about a canceled dinner.
She looks at you again, and you are already kneeling on the bed to reach for her face.
"I'm just trying to keep you out of trouble." You explain as you caress her cheek. "I can't risk you getting grounded in this fancy mansion when I want to keep taking you out."
Her gaze glows hopeful. "You do?"
You smile, leaning in to kiss her intensely for a moment. "Of course I do." You assure her once you break the kiss, your gaze darkening afterward. "And I also want to come to your room, lie on your bed, and elicit all the delicious sounds you make when I kiss you."
Wanda chokes softly, leaning in to break the distance again, but you haven't offered her more than a peck, earning a grumble in return. "When are you going to kiss me again? For real."
"When do you want to?" you challenge back, and despite the pink of your cheeks, Wanda doesn't hesitate.
"Now."
You chuckle, pulling away. You open the door just before Erik comes up the stairs, and he grimaces, but you are already leaving the room. Before you do, you turn and offer a wink to Wanda, who once she is left in the room alone, sinks her face into her pillows, trying to make her heart stop beating so fast.
–//–
You wanted to take things slow with Wanda because in your experience, too fast burns and wears out at the same speed.
It is, however, quite difficult to keep your eyes off her.
Especially when she looks so irresistible in her cheer uniform.
"You're drooling." Yelena sneers beside you under the bleachers as you both skip chemistry class so she can smoke away from any teacher's attention.
"I definitely am." You retort without any concern, your gaze focused on the brunette from meters away. Yelena laughs dryly, taking a long drag on her cigarette.
"When are you going to make it official?"
"Why, so we can end up like Nat and Carol, fighting about the damn weather." You retort half impatiently, and Yelena hesitates a moment. She puffs smoke before answering.
"Carol cheated on Nat." She declares, and you gasp in surprise, looking at your friend with wide eyes. She shrugs her shoulders. "It was with a girl from State, at last year's championship. Nat tried to forgive her, but it''s been the same since summer. They're not fighting because of the weather, they're fighting because they're lying to each other."
You bite your tongue, turning your gaze back to Wanda in the field. She looks beautiful and giggles excitedly with her teammates when she gets her steps right.
"That doesn't make me feel confident about your suggestion, Lena." You murmur to her, and Yelena laughs lightly, taking one last drag before throwing the cigarette on the ground.
"Not every relationship sucks, Y/N." She begins. "Not everyone gets divorced like your parents, and not everyone cheats like my sister's girlfriend. Just look at me and Kate. I fucking love her, and I can't wait for us to be living in the same apartment."
You smile small. "I never said I loved anyone."
Yelena rolls her eyes, laughing softly. "It's in your face. And look where you are, simping over her while skipping class instead of doing anything else."
It's your turn to roll your eyes, a soft pink filling your cheek at being caught. "Shut up or I'll tell Kate you're looking for a place without her help."
Yelena laughs, "And I'll tell Maximoff that you're a stalker."
You grunt impatiently, leaving muttering that the field is a free-for-all, and missing the way Wanda looks through the rails to where you were sitting before.
As the weeks went by, and with the clear yet casual involvement between you, it was obvious to everyone how much influence you had in each other's lives.
You started showing up to more classes, and Wanda stole your leather jacket for her and learned to say no to her father when you learned to show up at family dinners.
She borrowed your clothes with the excuse that they smelled like you, and you brought home her classic DVDs almost every weekend.
And there was also a matching set of hickeys on your necks.
"Wanda, your father looks ready to blow up this car." You reminded her with a breathless giggle against her lips - because she insisted that you kiss her properly - before you dropped her off at home. She grunted impatiently, grabbing your chin so that you would take your attention away from the man with his arms crossed in the driveway, and focus on the girl sitting in the car seat gifted by your father after you said you had sent admission letters to colleges not so far from Wanda.
"I want to ask you something." She says, kissing you again briefly. "Do you want to sleep over at my place this weekend?"
You hum, kissing her again before retorting, "Is it some special occasion?"
She smiles, shaking her head. "Just missing you. And... it's the race finals weekend, so Dad and Pietro are traveling and we'll have the house to ourselves."
You choke softly, caught by surprise that it is Wanda suggesting such a thing. But she seems genuinely naive about it, waiting for your response.
"Hmm, and what would we do with the house to ourselves...?" You tease, rubbing your nose against hers and Wanda chuckles shyly, one hand going up to your neck.
"I suppose whatever we want." She replies, and you smile before kissing her again, this time goodbye.
–//–
It seemed to take a lifetime, but the weekend finally arrived.
Wanda doesn't know why she was so nervous. You had been alone before, between classes, at movie screenings, at snack bars, or bowling alleys.
But then she remembered the feeling of your lips pressing against hers, the panting whispers that made her skin itch, and the way her knees gave way when your hands got bold and she guessed she knew very well why.
She prepares a typical movie session, all the food, and comfy pillows, and you praise her for her dedication before pressing her against the bedroom door.
Wanda loves those hungry kisses - they heat up her body like a furnace, and always leave her wanting more. And today you seem willing to give her as much as she needs.
Your mouth parted from hers only to trail along her jaw, marking your way down and Wanda already panting, threw her head back against the wood, shivering under your rough touch around her body.
"I drove all the way down here thinking about kissing you, princess." You confess huskily against her ear, and Wanda blushes heavily, a low moan escaping her throat. "You're making me crazy, Wanda. I can't stop thinking about you."
"I think about you too." She confesses equally affected, only to gasp when you press a knee between her legs and everything burns, and she can't control the sounds that escape from there, not when you move your hands to her waist and make her grind against your thigh next. "Oh. That feels so nice..." She whimpers overwhelmed by the sensations, and you gently bite the sensitive spot on her neck.
"If you want something, you're going to have to ask for it." You whisper, and Wanda moans in response, her nails digging into your arms.
"Please, Y/N. I just need...you to touch me." She tries with her cheeks burning as much as the rest of her body, her hips never failing against your thigh and making you shiver.
"I'm all over you, pretty girl." You tease back, meeting her gaze and swallowing Wanda's breathless moans with your mouth with each movement of her hips. "Unless you want me to touch you somewhere else..."
"You know I want to." She retorts naughtily, and to that, you bite her lip, a gentle tug that makes her choke on a moan.
"Don't be a smart-ass." You warn, sliding a hand to her thigh to pull it up, and the adjustment makes Wanda see stars. "You can't even tell me to fuck your pussy."
She whimpers at the teasing, closing her eyes and throwing her forehead against your shoulder. You laugh smugly as the wetness begins to stain your pants.
"Baby, please..." She whimpers again, urging her body against you. Her hips are out of rhythm, and the covered stimulation is delicious, but still not enough. She just needs some kind of push that you seem to know what it is and won't grant her.
Instead of answering her, you grab her neck and kiss her hard, adjusting your body to hers until Wanda feels a hardness and jerks up with a surprised, affected squeal.
"It's a gift that I bought especially for you. if you're ready for it, of course." You clarify breathlessly, and she nods immediately, interlacing her hands behind your neck. But you kiss her slowly now and move your other hand down to lift Wanda between the door and your lap so that she now grinds directly against the strap instead of your thigh. She gasps in a whimper, meeting your eyes again as you break the kiss. " Fuck, you're so close and I haven't even touched you yet."
You were absolutely right. The knot in Wanda's belly was ready to explode at any moment, and when you slid your hand down to open your zipper, and the fake cock slipped out, the new pressure made Wanda growl hornily, her eyes rolling to the back of her head.
You didn't penetrate her, letting her grind her covered intimacy against the toy until the moisture was enough to wet it. By now Wanda was jerking, holding you by the shoulders as you moved your hips against her. The strap pressed against her clit, sliding in a torturous back and forth over her covered pussy, and you seemed to be having the time of your life driving her to the brink of insanity with that tease.
"Y/N-fuck-I want-need it... inside-ah" She tried, delirious with anticipation, ever so close, and you panted softly in her ear.
"I love it when you cuss, it's so hot." You praise, slowing down and making Wanda moan loudly, her clit throbbing. "If you can ask me what you want, I'll do it."
Wanda whimpers affectedly, her cheeks blushing again. She is almost building up courage when you curse in her ear trapped in your own pleasure, and she is cumming instead of saying anything.
It is an overwhelming pleasure, almost terrifying her. She grabs you to keep from falling to the floor, dripping onto her panties. You grunt as you realize what has just happened and only give Wanda time to stop shaking before you get down on your knees.
"Babe, what are you...?" She falls silent as she chokes on her own breath, throwing her head back hard as her hips try to escape from your hands that hold her just for that. You press your nose against her covered intimacy, sniffing with a loud groan as Wanda whimpers. You don't give her time to complain before you move a hand to push the fabric away and sink your tongue into her.
Wanda practically screams, and you groan as you taste her. You fuck her messily, hungrily as you take your tongue between the folds of her pussy, pushing deep and then shallow to make her twitch, and when you suck on her clit she brings a hand to her hair.
"Oh-OH-blyat', tak khorosho!" Wanda gasps, and you groan as you hear her cursing in another language. It just encourages you to keep going, and this time, you won't stop until you get it out of her again.
It didn't take long - Wanda was sensitive and you only had to slide your tongue inside and suck her clit a few times for her to spill into your mouth with a long moan, her nails digging into your scalp. You moaned too, delighting in her taste and licking her clean before making your way up again.
"That was..." She tries breathlessly, her eyes lazy, and you smile, kissing her and making her grunt for her own taste before turning into a surprised yelp when you take her by the thighs and lift her onto your lap.
"We're not done, pretty girl." You clarify between kisses on the way to the bed. When you place Wanda on the mattress, her hair spreads across the pillow and she stares at you with dark eyes, her chest heaving. You pause, momentarily speechless as you realize how much you care for her.
"Everything okay?" She asks at your hesitation, and you smile immediately, nodding and moving closer to kiss her with intensity. Wanda melts, trying to pull you up but you gently push her by the shoulders.
She thinks to question, but your hand traces its way between her thighs and any question becomes an affected whimper.
"The toy is small, but I still need to stretch you with my fingers." You whisper with a naturalness that doesn't match the way Wanda blushes heavily. She merely nods, shivering under your fingers scratching and teasing around the inner part of her thighs. "You'll tell me if it hurts, won't you, pretty girl?"
She nods frantically, choking softly. "Y-yes, but please, just..." The teasing was driving her insane, your fingers only touching around, never where she desperately needed it. "Please, Y/N, touch me."
You shushed her gently, kissing the corner of her mouth and then her jaw, and when you got to her neck and started sucking on the sensitive spots that made her squirm on the bed, your fingers find her intimacy and penetrated her.
Wanda whimpered, closing her eyes tightly to the invasion. One at first, and then you slid out, and when you came back, two sank into her and she bit your shoulder.
"Tell me when you're ready." You whispered into her neck, moving your thumb to stimulate her clitoris, and Wanda throbbed beneath you. After two orgasms, she was really quite sensitive, but that only made it better. "Wands?"
She sighed, opening her eyes to find your worried ones. Instead of answering, she brought one hand to your cheek and another to the wrist connected between you. She brought your lips together at the same time she moved her hips, and you took the cue, sliding your fingers out and then in to find a rhythm.
Wanda whimpered once you got it, with each thrust she gasped at the kiss becoming harder to return, but once you felt her close again, you stopped.
She grunted confused and annoyed, but you adjusted before she could say anything, and any complaint broke down into an affected moan as you lined up the strap on her and sank in at once.
"Ah, I knew you could take it, pretty girl." You praised her, in a slow rhythm against her as Wanda squirmed and dug her nails into your back, desperate for more. "Damn, you look so beautiful now."
Wanda's moans mingled with the sounds of the thrusts inside her, the wetness of her pussy creating a delicious friction. You firmed your hands on her waist, pushing deeper, and she arched her back, ready to fall over the edge. You fell over her, hugging her and kissing the skin of her exposed collarbone, and Wanda whimpered, moaning under you.
She let out a little squeal, and her body tensed and you gasped against her neck as you came too, your juices mixing and dripping down her thighs.
You stood there for a moment, just breathing against each other as you calmed from your climax, and you smiled as you felt Wanda draw patterns on your back.
Unhurriedly, you moved off her, biting your lips at the image of the soaked toy and the sigh that left her lips as she felt empty before you pulled away.
Wanda looks at you expectantly at once, missing your body on top of her.
"Where are you going?" She asks in a half-hoarse voice, but you smile, now standing in front of the bed, you begin to remove your pants.
"You came three times and we didn't even get to take our clothes off. I'm kind of impressed." You humorously clarify, and Wanda giggles shyly, biting her lips as you take off your clothes in front of her. "How would you like to take a shower with me? And then, lend me something comfy so we can watch the movie you've picked up?"
She finds it incredible, honestly, but once you are completely naked in front of her, Wanda can only sigh and move closer again. She brings a hand to your neck and kisses you hard.
"Later. Now, I want you to do that thing with your tongue again." She asks with a sigh and well, it's not like you're going to complain.
–//–
You awoke to rays of sunlight on your face and a warm feeling on the tip of your stomach.
"Wands...oh...don't stop that." Your natural instinct was to call out to her, but it turned into something like a moan and a sigh as you felt the pleasure electrify your whole body at once. Wanda smiled against you, looking up at you as her hands held your thighs open for her. You squirmed on the mattress, barely finding time to grab her hair before you cum hard on her tongue. "Fuck, baby, that was amazing."
She giggles softly against you, kissing your thighs before moving up your body until she finds your mouth again. It takes a moment for you to recover from the orgasm and wake up properly, but when you do, your hands go around her and you spin Wanda around on the bed, getting on top quickly as she smiles.
"You're a fast learner." You comment against her jaw, tracing kisses downward. "I don't think I've ever cum so fast before..."
But suddenly, Wanda tenses and your hand guides your face back to her.
"I don't want to think about it." She says almost irritated, and you frown in confusion, "You with other people."
A smile breaks on your lips. " Hmm, is that right?"
But Wanda doesn't smile, sliding her legs between yours to switch positions and push you on your back on the bed, straddling your lap the next minute. Her hands at the side of your head, and her hair makes a curtain between your faces.
"I want you to be mine, Y/N. As I am yours." She whispers hoarsely, her gaze intense on yours. You blink impressed but are smiling.
"And who says I'm not already?" You challenge back, moving your hands to her hips and enjoying the feel of her intimacy against your thigh. Her breasts look incredible like this too, covered only by the half-open shirt of yours that she must have stolen during the night.
Wanda studies your face as she risks, "You never made us official, I thought..."
You bring a hand to her cheek as she lowers her head in shame. "Wands, and who says labels are the only thing that makes us official?"
Wanda shrugs, looking away, "I don't know, it's just that the cheer girls have their partners, and they're always talking about going to college together or buying apartments and-"
You straighten up, sitting up and pulling her closer.
"We'll do all that if that's what you want." You tell her with sincerity. "We'll go to NYU together, and rent an apartment. And I'll buy you a shiny ring so everyone will know we're together."
Wanda smiles, blushing as she wraps her arms around you.
"But what do you want?"
You smile warmly, brushing your nose against hers. "Sweetheart, I just want you." You retort caressing her skin. "I don't care about social norms, I just want to be able to kiss and wake up with you every day. If you want a ring, let's buy a ring. If you want to meet me in secret so as not to upset your father, I'll accept that too."
Wanda chuckles softly, pecking your jaw and then your lips.
"There's no way I'm keeping you a secret, you're the best thing that ever happened to me." She confesses and you kiss her, again and again until she starts to heat up on you, breathless whispers leaving her lips with each kiss.
"You're the best thing that ever happened to me too, Wands." You retort to her before deepening the next kiss, and this time, you don't stop.

Jiara Theory - season 2
Ok so I literally just finished watching s2 and I absolutely have no doubt that Jiara is endgame. This is my whole take on it. Keep in mind that I've only watched it once, so these thoughts are my first impressions on what I think is going on with Jiara and where I think they're heading. I've avoided my feed like the plague until I finished this as well. It's also a long one, so buckle up!
Kie and Pope First of all, I think we need to talk about Kie and Pope. A lot happened this season. Kie and Pope were on again, off again for most of it and things just got a bit weird. In the beginning, I think that Kie's interest in Pope is all to get her mind off of everything that just happened with John B and Sarah. She thinks her friends are dead and doesn't want to dwell on it. Pope, I think, is aware of that and knows that maybe her intentions are not all that sincere and that she might just be using him to distract herself from feeling something other than grief and anger. Her asking him if he wants to hook up in the first episode kind of came out of left field and just proves how all over the place her mind is at that moment. She is being impulsive and rash. Pope can see that and admits that to her, telling her she is just high and 'overcompensating' which won't help how she feels. Her response, 'helps me', kind of solidifies that that was in fact what she was trying to do. Even after they all realise that John B and Sarah are alive, Pope and Kie's relationship is still very hot and cold. Kie has a lot on her shoulders with everything that is going on at home and has basically been threatened into exile if she doesn't stop hanging around the Pogues. I think Kie is having a tiny identity crisis of sorts. She has all the luxuries of a Kook, but all the spirit of a Pogue (so deep). Her parents' disapproval of her being with the Pogues and ending up as one weighs heavily on her. She has grown up with these boys and doesn't believe that anything has to change just because she is older. I think her behaviour with Pope and her fickle interest in him reflects her inner struggle - she's at war with herself. When she acts interested in Pope it seems like she is trying to get back at her parents in some way maybe. And he's the safest person to do it with. Kie's parents got pregnant as teens and her dad was a Pogue. Not to mention that Kiara's mum knew JJ's dad in high school (!!) so with Kie hanging out with his son I'm sure she's worried. Their fear that history will repeat itself with Kie and one of the Pogues is known to Kie and her pursuit of Pope, I think, is her acting out and resenting them for thinking that way about her.
Ultimately, Pope's reserved nature and partiality towards rule-following also don't bode well with Kie's personality. While of course she loves him for who he is, I don't think she finds him attractive because of it. I think Pope's subdued nature kind of holds her back in a way. Kie is a fighter and defender and will, no matter what, always stick up for what is right even in the face of adversity. Pope, on the other hand, is also all of those things but goes about it in a much more controlled and almost docile way. I think Kie kind of resents that about him sometimes, like when she was spray painting 'Murderer' on Ward's wall and he was disapproving of it all and kinda killing her vibe. These things make her question his identity as a Pogue. It's almost like she is trying to make him into more of a Pogue and kind of taunts him about it as well. When she offers him a blunt on the boat and asks 'which Pope are you going to be today?' its kind of a dig. I may be reaching but its almost like she is trying to get him to act more like JJ...? I mean, he is the epitome of a Pogue so kinda makes sense..?
All in all though I think it is safe to say that we can finally put Kie and Pope to bed. Nothing romantic is ever going to come out of their relationship again from here on out. Also, I have a feeling something might brew between Pope and Cleo anyways. Also, Cleo? Amazing.
Jiara Throughout Kie and Pope's tumultuous relationship, JJ is keen to find out what the go is between them. He wants to know how serious they are and constantly probes each of them to get any details he can. While this may seem like he is just trying to tease them, I think he genuinely wants to know because he just wants to understand it. JJ might be thinking 'what about Pope appeals to Kie?' and 'what does Pope have that I don't have?' While I think that he is quietly disappointed that it's not him, I think he ultimately just wants them to be happy. He'll sidebar his feelings for the sake of his friends.
Episodes 8 and 10 were some of my favourite episodes of the season. When JJ and Kie go to the Chateau and bump into JJ's dad we get some nice Jiara moments. First of all, Kie defends JJ and calls out his dad for being a shit father. She acknowledges how special she thinks JJ is and criticises his father's unforgivable behaviour. Not too long after, JJ overhears his dad torment Kie and calls him out for it. JJ later says that everything he has his dad ruins and omg, I nearly died! This was everything!
I think a couple of meanings can be taken away from this. The first is obvious, JJ's dad has pretty much ruined his life because he just takes drugs and drinks and isn't a reliable parental figure whatsoever. And then I think it could also go a bit deeper than that where his dad's abuse has psychologically affected him in a way that makes JJ believe that he will never be worth anything or measure up to anything better than what he thinks he deserves because of how he has been treated and brought up. As a result of that, he might believe that he could never be enough for someone like Kie, who comes from a good family and has more access to opportunities than he could ever imagine. His little admission when he gets into Kie's car following the whole ambulance incident reaffirms this when he basically accepts and believes that his life is destined to end up like his dad's.
I think this season made it even more clear that JJ has some hidden feelings for Kiara. I mean, when they were in Charleston and were spending the night in the back of the truck, JJ looked shattered after Kie kissed Pope's cheek before going to sleep. Like WHATT. That also killed me.
And I know he addressed everyone but the way his eyes landed on her when he says 'you're it'. My heart. That cannot be a coincidence.
I feel like we still don't really know much about how Kie feels for JJ. While she thinks that he's unpredictable and a bit of a hothead, I also believe that this kinda excites her. She watches on in disbelief while also secretly admiring him. JJ is a showman. He is theatrical and is always looking for some kind of reaction. He's a go big or go home kind of person and while Kie thinks that he acts idiotically sometimes, I think that she genuinely really loves that about him. Where Pope holds back and doesn't want to step over the line, JJ completely goes for it and doesn't care about what it might mean in the long run. He lives in the moment. Much like I think Kie does. I think season 2 made it clear just how similar JJ and Kie are. They're both impulsive, passionate, carefree, fearless and unafraid of how their actions might negatively affect them. And they bicker. A lot. One such moment is when they are arguing over whose fault it was for the lost footage from the camera when they saw Ward shoot Gavin. This scene also revealed how JJ thinks that Kiara always sides with Pope and never JJ. Maybe I'm reaching (again) but this could also have a double meaning like 'why do you choose Pope and not me?' kind of thing. Nevertheless, the last episode was EPIC. I can't get over it. When Kiara asks JJ if there was room for one more on his surf trip fantasy you could tell he was a little taken aback.
They were a lot more tactile and paired up together this season. JJ and Kie get beers together for their little celebration at the Chateau, JJ and Kie go to get Kie's dad's car, JJ and Kie bring beers to Pope and John B on the boat, JJ and Kie stay in the container, the list goes on. They are setting them up to get the audience (us) comfortable with the idea of them being together. Even though I think a lot of us were already keen on the idea from the get-go... I think this season was really set up to cement their relationship as friends who share a lot of the same qualities and hopes for the future. It also solidified their crazy chemistry and strong compatibility by simultaneously showing the incompatibility of Kie and Pope's relationship.
I think Kie is a constant for JJ in a way that Pope and John B could never be. Kie is much more in tune with how others around her feel and can be there for JJ in a way that none of the others can. Also, who does JJ text when he's caught in the ambulance and the police are after him? Kie. Boom.
So, where to from here? As I mentioned before, I think Cleo is going to be a new love interest for Pope. There were a few moments in that final episode that just gave me that feeling. I also think that they already have great chemistry. Meanwhile, I don't think that Kie will be all that bothered by it if that does happen to be the case, but I think the others might ask her how she feels about it anyway and I feel like JJ would be the one to bring it up. I think it would be less likely to be Sarah since Kie told her that she's just not in love with Pope, while JJ doesn't actually know what really went down with them (as far as we know) and for all he knows they just fizzled out or are taking a step back.
I think in the next season, we'll see JJ and Kie hanging out some more and maybe being a little more flirty. Maybe the others might question what the whole surf trip plan is all about, most likely Sarah, which could then open up a can of worms. But, of course, I'm just speculating. Season 3 hasn't been confirmed yet but I'm feeling pretty confident. They need to start filming like yesterday because I can't wait another year for more. I might just pass away.
Anyways, if you made it this far then you have my full respect and gratitude. Thank you so much. I know it's all scattered and I may have missed some things but I'll be sure to post more if I think of anything else. I literally just finished the final episode so I'm still reeling. If you're interested, I also did a Jiara theory post on season 1 last year that you can take a gander at.

The ultimate How I Met Your Mother Finale rant
I know this has been done before, and I know I'm several years late to the party, but I don't care, so IN THIS ESSAY I WILL tell you about why this finale takes the spot as the second-worst finale in TV show history (because Game of Thrones is still, to this day, unbeatable, and it will probably stay like that forever).
But first, a little context: I've just finished binge-watching HIMYM. This binge has been going on for three days straight (my final exam of the semester is in a week and I should be studying, so the fact that the last few days were a partial waste of time makes me so mad). Second thing: I already knew how it would end, and yes, kids, it does ruin the show for you. It ruins the show so much it makes your blood boil when you rewatch certain scenes, but I will get to that.
You might want to make yourself a drink because this is a complete list of all the reasons why HIMYM's finale sucks - I'm warning you, it's gonna be looong.
It completely invalidates the entirety of season 9
This is one of the complaints people most often have with this series, and I have to agree. It would have been so much better if the last two episodes never existed, and they just showed Barney and Robin dancing at the reception after walking out of the chapel, Ted noticing Tracy and then the platform scene. "And that, kids, is the story of how I met your mother". Cut scene. Honestly, I don't get the hate people give to season 9, barring the last 2/3 episodes, especially since season 8 was so much worse (except for a few honourable mentions, like The Robin). S8 was slower, less funny, and less deep, and while the authors took a risk by making s9 happen in the span of a weekend it paid off: they took their time introducing the character of the Mother to the gang and fleshing her out. They make sure to highlight all the little ways in which Ted and Tracy are perfect for each other, and even tie up loose ends, like with the Slapsgiving episode, that was a filler but it wasn't boring to watch (although it may be problematic for different reasons, I'm not Chinese, so I can't say for sure if it's cultural appropriation or just the authors making fun of a particular movie genre).
Some episodes were arguably great: "Daisy" was amazing, and that whole fight between Marshall and Lily was so realistic and well thought out, "Sunrise" was extremely important for Ted's character development, same goes for Tracy and "How Your Mother Met Me", "Bedtime stories" was impressive, "Rally" was incredibly funny and proved once again what a beautiful character Barney Stinson is, so much so that even Robin never has doubts that he (the guy with the biggest commitment issues on the planet) will bail on her before the wedding, and says to Ted that "he always comes back". Daphne's character is super funny and the right amount of annoying, the shenanigans of the gang are well thought out and all of the characters (not just Barney) complete their arc in this season. The last two/three episodes butcher that.
Marshall and Lily
Marshall and Lily, arguably the world's most solid couple, are the only thing this God-awful finale gets right, especially Marshall, who is my second-favourite character, that finally gets everything he deserves. But what about Lily? They never mention her career after Italy, and I refuse to believe she goes back to being a kindergarten teacher as if her year in Rome meant nothing. I also refuse to think she becomes nothing but a political wife, the equivalent of Zoey, but without saving the world. We know she has three kids, but her postpartum depression is never really talked about much and they definitely had the screentime to delve into it.
Barney
Where do I even begin? Barney Stinson is, without a doubt, the best character in this series, the glue of the whole gang. I think the message they were trying to give is that, since his trauma stemmed from the absence of a father figure in his life, he could only truly heal by becoming a father as well. People also say that n°31 had to stay just a number, because who could match up with Barney Stinson? First of all, I call BULSHIT on that last point, because Robin wasn't the only girl Barney could have ended up marrying. I used to think that too, but it's just not true: that is the equivalent of saying that Barney was incapable to truly love a woman and commit to her, even after all the development he got, and that he only got one shot at love in life, and that's it. This goes against the point the showrunners try to make by having Ted and Robin end up together AND by having Tracy get with Ted in the first place: "it's never too late, you always have another chance at love, etc." And, let's face it, Barney and Robin are legendary, but Barney and Nora (hell, even Barney and Quinn!) were pretty good together too.
Second of all, if they wanted to give Barney a kid, they could have easily done that, before Barney married Robin. Barney's "redemption" starts when he gets with Robin the first time, hell maybe even when we meet James for the first time: Nora, Quinn, finding out who his father is, the episode dedicated to the lies his mum told him/finding James' father, him getting to know his own dad, etc... those are all steps along the way. The s9 episode where Barney accepts the relationship between Loretta and the reverend proves how far he's come. So why not give him a daughter BEFORE he proposes to Robin? Have him cheat on Nora/Quinn with n°31, giving him a relapse, and having him get closer to Robin while struggling to be a dad to Ellie. That would have been great.
Or, you know, don't give him children. What's the point of burning the Playbook if you're going to have him write the second edition? What's the point of having him do a complete 180 in the last few scenes and acting like having a kid is the only thing that makes him change? What's the point of doing that when the show spends entire episodes berating Marshall and Lily for "changing too much" when they have a kid?
Also, Barney is the "challenge accepted" guy. He loves his wife so much, he spent years wanting her, and then he gives up because there is no WiFi in his hotel. How does that make any sense at all? This is Barney Stinson, the "I will fly out to San Francisco and buy Lily a plane ticket", the "I will steal every girl from my best friend just to save him for Lily", the guy that wrote the Playbook (it takes effort to pull those plays off), the guy that planned for weeks his proposal, the guy that waited years to get back at the man who stole his first girlfriend, the guy that makes every night legendary... are you telling me that that guy becomes the equivalent of a bored housewife instead of living his best life while travelling the world? Come on. They don't even try to make it believable.
Ted
While watching seasons 7 and 8, I felt that Ted was becoming the worst character on the show: he was boring, depressed, basically had no good storylines, the whole thing with Victoria was pointless and inconclusive (and the whole "stop being in love with Robin" was completely out of character for her), but whatever, we could have accepted that because it passed the message that two people could be good together, without being soulmates - which, by the way, renders the TedxRobin ship pointless, because they were right for each other, but Ted and Tracy were soulmates. Him being hung up on Robin in the latter seasons is almost pathetic, and the thing he does with the locket is insane, not romantic - BUT I will say this: it can be seen in two ways, depending on who's watching. I personally like the two as friends, so I see the whole thing as a "Dahmer" situation, but I get the people who see it as a "Dobler" one and see what he did as a grand romantic gesture.
The problem, though, is that the whole TedxRobin ship gets pretty old, pretty fast: it's an annoying on-and-off thing, that should have ended with the locket. Because, yes, Ted was in a dark moment, yes, he was probably depressed, yes, he thought Robin was his only shot at happiness, but he changes during season nine! He spends entire episodes letting go of Robin, including the one where she transforms into a balloon and flies away. Ted is the good guy, ultimately. He is the guy that is genuinely happy for his best friends. In one of the deleted scenes from the finale, he meets Robin years later and says that he's so happy with Tracy he never thought about Robin in that way anymore. All of that gets thrown in the trash. Why do that? To use a Harry Potter metaphor, Ted is Severus Snape, while Barney is James Potter: the former loved the girl of his dreams with all his heart, even to the point of creepiness, but they weren't meant to be together.
Robin
This, along with the next point, is the worst of all: Robin is the worst character of the entire finale. Her relationship with Ted in season 2 is wonderful, and I say that as a full-on Barney/Robin shipper. There was never a problem in their relationship, apparently, but they then break up because they have an "expiration date" and ultimately want different things in life. Except that Ted is not her soulmate. The only times when Robin wants Ted are the times where (1) she can't have him because he's either trying to move on or (2) the times where it's convenient, for example when they become roommates again and they solve their disputes again. Around that time, we see perfectly that Ted had moved on and that the person getting hurt was Barney. It's one thing to see Ted and Robin in the finale as two people picking up where they had left off after they dated. But this is not the case.
In season 7, we have the exchange that should have put an end to any and all TedxRobin drama, and that completely invalidates whatever the writers wrote after that about the two of them: Ted declares his love - "I think you know how you feel about me now. I don't think time's gonna change that. Just tell me: do you love me?" To which she answers "No". And Ted also says later to Marshall, that he's "happy because he can finally move on".
What a load of crap.
Getting over someone is hard, believe me, I would know. And, oftentimes, it doesn't happen until we find someone else to love (and from the moment he meets Tracy, there is no one else for Ted). But by giving Ted feelings for Robin after this moment, it takes away from the beauty of it- because it's one of the most heartbreaking feelings in the world when you declare your love to someone and they don't love you back. Ted and Robin were both honest at that moment, and it was the last genuinely good exchange between them. After that, during season 8 they try to show us Ted trying to get over her (and failing) and in season 9 Ted getting over her completely. This is also weirdly paced because at the beginning of s8 both are in happy relationships with other people and there's no jealousy (which is good, because at least they weren't toxic) and they seem just friends (when Robin leaves Nick to go see him in the middle of the night, she implies that she would do it for any of her friends), but after Ted breaks up with Veronica because of Robin everything is weirdly coated in this sort of tension between the two: first Ted loves her, but she doesn't, so when he helps her by taking her to Barney's proposal ("which means my best bro in the world has given me his blessing").
And, by the way, every time they try to paint Ted as the guy that comes through for Robin after this moment, they dumb down Barney's character. And still fail to make Ted a better guy than him (see: the carousel in Central Park).
Yes, Robin and Ted have some chemistry, but it is nothing compared to what Robin and Barney have. Every time Robin is jealous of Barney, it doesn't seem like a stupid whim, just because some other child is playing with her toys (except, perhaps, during The Robin). Robin and Barney's relationship would need a whole other post, and the next time I rewatch the series I will write down all the things that make them perfect for each other, but, to me, the biggest difference between the two relationships is this: in season 6, when she's not dating either one of them, Ted accuses Robin of never making him feel needed while they were together, whereas Barney praises her for it. Those are elective affinities: that's what Barney and Robin have, and what Tracy and Ted have.
Barney and Robin have more or less the same arc: they both get over their fear of commitment and they do that with each other. Time and time again, we are told that if they're ever going to settle down, it would only be with the other. The first time they break up is honestly so stupid, and even when they are broken up, they are the best of friends, which also makes Robin's behaviour in the finale look so stupid. The way the two of them fit together is unparalleled, both in a romantic and a platonic way.
Think about it: Robin makes Barney a better man, while she makes Ted a worse one.
Also, the whole point that there are different seasons in life for everything gets thrown out the window: apparently, Ted and Robin (that were a couple that ultimately worked in their young twenties) are the same people in their forties.
But that's not even the worst part. The worst part is that the two final episodes butcher Robin's arc as well: episode 23 starts with Lily saying "I want this girl to be in our lives" and we know Robin never made other friends outside of the gang, because she didn't need to, and now she walks away from everything because of fucking Ted?? This is saying "hey, Robin was only in the group for Ted, who brought her in, and now she leaves because he's not her puppy anymore". Robin was the one that was eternally indecisive between Ted and Barney and you're telling me that three years and many many life experiences later, she's still not sure?
The point of her story is learning how to get over her fear of commitment, learning how to be there for her friends (there's an entire episode dedicated to that, and it's the one where Lily's pregnant and we meet Robin's ex-best friend in Canada), and how to balance her job and her life. Also, the way her character is treated is un-feminist and un-progressive: she becomes Ted's consolation prize. She is passive throughout s9. She cannot, ultimately, win the modern-day struggle most women have and balance out career and love life, so her true life, her "happy chapter" begins after she has already accomplished everything she wanted to and she's free for Ted. She doesn't even go back to him, she just the prize the main character wanted for all his life and only got in the end because his wife died (ONE SCENE, people, ONE SCENE!). Also, this makes Tracy the "broodmare" that gives him the kids he wanted, and his "happy family" experience before he goes to be with his one true love.
The mother
This. This makes me so mad. One whole season spent on building up Tracy's character, just for it to go to waste. It would have been so easy to screw her up, but she is hands down the best thing about s9. She's the perfect woman for Ted and the episode shot through her perspective is the sweetest. By the end, I liked her more than Robin and Lily. She was the perfect addition to their group, she fit together with them in a perfect way, and they show us the biggest moment of her and Ted's life... for what? To have her die in a few sentences? And I don't care if they shot a funeral scene, I don't care if the finale was supposed to be 40 minutes long, because, in the end, it wasn't. The scene where Ted meets her is the second most beautiful one (after Barney's proposal to Robin) and the climax of the whole show, but they ruin her... and for what? The chemistry Ted has with her, he has with no one. The joy she brings him, the way she understands him, is unlike any other. I am sure that one of the reasons they killed her off was the shock value and I hate it.
I cannot stress this enough: Tracy makes Ted a better person. When he's with Robin, Ted is "the nice guy" in the most selfish and narcissistic version of the trope. When he's with Tracy, love comes easy to Ted. Also, the scenes between the two of them are arguably the best Ted scenes of the show.
The kids' reactions (ugh)
It's not really what they say- it's the way they say it. The end of HIMYM was not supposed to be funny, even though the show is a sitcom. It was supposed to be bittersweet and beautiful, because it's the end of an era, and the writers must have known that. So, Ted finishes telling his story, reveals to the audience that their now-beloved Tracy is dead, and the reaction is: "No, ahah, you totally have the hots for Aunt Robin" (their words, not mine). Like, what the actual fuck? I cringed when Penny said that. It's tasteless and not fun at all. Even if it has been six years... It's still your fucking mum, show a little bit of sadness at the thought of her.
The reason the show ended this way
What makes me especially mad is that I know for a fact that the reason they went with this ending is that it was the original one, always intended for the show, from season 2 onwards. And, if you watch it right after s2, it makes sense. But if you consider the eight years that passed and the massive character development, then no, it's not the best possible one. So many things hadn't been decided yet back in s2, especially about Barney, Ted, and Robin, and I hate that they didn't dare to scrap their work. This ending probably had sentimental meaning to the writers, but authors have to do what's best for their characters, not themselves. It's like with GoT, in a way: I think that the authors were all too aware of the impact of HIMYM and didn't believe that their finale would live up to the expectations... which compelled them to make the worst decision possible?? Every single character is OOC during the episode. Oh, and Marshall and Lily moving in the last episode is a ripoff from Friends (or maybe a tribute? Idk). Anyway, I believe that the authors were too attached to their sentimental version of "what should have been" and didn't give the characters the endings they truly deserved.
"Life works this way" // "Life only moves forward"
Some people say that the show is realistic because that's how life works. But I call super-BS on that. That might be true, and yes, people do get sick and die (Max, Marshall's dad...) and life does go on. But then, you don't frame it the way they did. It's just bad storytelling if you do it like that. And the problem is not the structure of season 9, because the characters develop in that season. The problem isn't even the mother's death. The problem is Ted ending up with Robin because that's not life moving forward for him, that's him, doing the same thing he did in 2005, 25 (twenty-fucking-five) years before!
In conclusion, this finale is incoherent and inconclusive, and not satisfying at all. The only character that gets a good ending is Marshall: why is that? What makes his ending great? It's the fact that his character arc is respected and he finally gets what he's been working towards for more than ten years.

Can i say how impress i am with this season, from Hooty being least annoying to Gus finally getting some development, and LUMITY Fricking Lumity!
TOH SPOILERS
SERIOUSLY. This Season is killing it, all the episodes are sooooo freaking strong and it keeps getting better and better.
I love it all so much. King being eight and struggling with his identity? YES. Also this makes Eda canonically a single mom which is very good.
Hooty and Lilith? Surprisingly fun, and so good for Hooty for finally making a friend. Also him being there for her when she needed it? Great. Didn’t think this was something I needed but they have such a nice friendship I dig it.
My boy Gus getting screentime and focus finally? Yes please. This episode was sooo good from start to finish, I loved seeing him struggle with his illusion magic and ending with him learning it’s okay and how much great stuff he can do with it. Him using glyph magic was so cool, and bonding with the old illusion mage? Also god I felt so bad for him at the beginning, he just wanted to help his best friend 🥺
Fandom pls talk about Gus more. He’s so good I love him so much.
The Stones are such an interesting concept? And the lore dump about the human? 👀 👀 👀
I also really liked what they did with him and Matt, it was refreshingly self-aware of Matt being an ass to Gus before but him still doing the right thing and not just going along with his asshole friends when they crossed a line. And he even encouraged Gus and said maybe illusion magic is useful after all? Him using his construction to repair damage? Here for it.
Honestly I like that this is where they went with Matt. The fandom kinda kept painting him as like, insanely evil (like, shooting people and being a gang leader evil) which always had me like ???
It’s nice that we see his flaws addressed and absolutely not immediate forgiveness but also acknowledge he’s just a kid that got into the wrong school and was essentially carrying their shitty mindset over into Hexside. Bullies usually have a reason for the shit they do, even if that of course doesn’t mean anyone is required to forgive them.
Also hot take but Gus and Matt becoming friends always made more sense to me than Willow and Boscha, Skara etc. making up, no matter how much the fandom wanted that. Matt was an ass to Gus, no doubt, but they also barely know each other. Matt just changed schools at that point. That’s nowhere near the same as the eight years of bullying Willow endured.
And yes. Yes the Lumity is everything this season. Luz dropping to the ground at the end of the episode? Same girl. SAME.
I’m so freaking happy for all the queer kids that are growing up with this show, and the straight kids that are watching it and learning that we are just normal, this is just who some people are. It’s so good this show does so much for the current generation of kids (and also for sad queer adults like me vicariously living through the characters we didn’t have as kids). It has some of the best queer rep in television, and it’s so casual about it too?
(I’m also so proud of Amity, you go baby, and her siblings being so supportive? They’ve come so far since season one I’m so so happy. Did not love Emira stressing again to not mention they helped to mom, I worry for all of their safety.)
Edric’s date just being referred to with they/them pronouns and nobody making a big deal about it? Luz and Amity just crushing and blushing and being treated the exact same way a m/f relationship would be? It’s so freaking good I’m so emotional about all of this.
My wish list for the next episode? I want Amity and Luz to just… function around each other even less than usual and Willow or Gus asks if anything happened between them and they jump five feet apart with their faces on fire-
That was… so many incoherent thoughts sorry anon I’m still not fully functioning after all this and it’s been hours.

notes; i wrote this in like 40 mins bc i couldn't stop thinking about STIMBO jk from skirt chasers and how cool he is enjoy xxxx also i barely rmr shit from anatomy bc it was the worst course of my life so pls bear with me
His first mistake is getting drinks with the boys. You like to think you know your boyfriend pretty well, know what he’s good at, where he excels, where he thrives, and well. Drinking doesn’t rank too high on the list.
Jimin calls a little past midnight. “Kook’s on the table,” he slurs into the phone, too loud and too sloppy for a Wednesday night phonecall.
“Ha?” you mumble back, rubbing your eyes until you see stars. The room is dark, practically spinning from how out of it you are. Chaeyoung is dead asleep in her room, so even whispering feels like a crime. “Where are you guys?”
Some bar on the south side of town, that strip where all the newly turned twenty-one year olds go to get wasted. Jungkooks supposed to be studying for some big exam he has on Friday— at least, that’s what he told you —so it takes a few minutes of convincing on Jimin’s part until you’re shrugging your coat on, blindly navigating through your apartment for your keys and wallet. You briefly consider taking an Uber, but ultimately decide you’d rather get stabbed to death on a public bus so at least your family can sue the city afterwards.
Jungkook is indeed on the table, except the table has long since tipped over. So now he’s just sprawled across some dirty bar floor, puppy-soft head of curls spilling over his forehead. He’s so cute, so adorable. You want to kill him. “Up,” you command, channeling the strength of twelve football players to haul your beefy boyfriend off the ground.
“Baby,” he beams, looking at you but not actually looking at you. “I think the alcohol broke my amygdala. Your epidermis looks pretty today— did you use that toner I told you about?”
You don’t even know what that means, can’t even question him, because then Jin is angrily yelling at you to cover his tab. You pay with a stiff middle finger, flail the three dollars in your wallet at him, before sweeping away your poor damsel in distress. “You’re supposed to be studying,” you huff, can’t even be mad when he stops to throw up in a bush outside the bar. You’re so embarrassed, pretend you don’t know him as you pull up the bus times on your phone.
He’s huffy by the time you get on the bus, sniffling against your neck as he cries about his common hepatic portal vein thing— you don’t fucking know.
Chaeyoung isn’t too impressed with you when you bring him home, dump him on the couch while she steals your AirPods from your room. “Explain yourself,” you demand, and his head rolls back.
“I hate school,” he complains, slaps a hand down against his forehead. You’re certain he’s concussed himself this time. Then he’s bending over, head held between his hands. “Wanna cry.”
You sigh, kneeling in front of him. “You’re almost done,” you comfort him, hand on the back of his head. He’s so sweaty, and smells like all his friends colognes at the same time. “You’re smart, baby, you can do this.”
Your words have the opposite effect, because then he’s rocking forward childishly, nearly rams your skulls together and kills you. He’s reached the point of his insobriety where he’s too sad and huffy to think, sadly leaning against your shoulder as if that’ll somehow solve all his problems. You doubt it will, but there’s really nothing much you can when Jungkook reaches this point, so you settle on softly patting the back of his head until the fool is fucking snoring against you.
Chaeyoung blesses you with her divine retribution the next morning by using up the last of your body wash, and then you’re left to deal with a hungover Jungkook on a Thursday morning. You’re pretty sure he had a class that morning, but he wakes up too late for you to even try to convince him to still go, and then he’s moping on your couch in last night’s clothes. You’re getting ready for your internship, blouse half buttoned, pencil skirt wiggled up to your waist.
“Abolish exams,” he mutters, numbly staring at the ceiling as you wipe his face with a cleansing towelette. He doesn’t seem remotely interested in the shower or the pancakes you made, which lets you know this is a much more serious issue than just a drunken episode. “Aren’t they stupid?” You nod. “Sure, test me on every damn thing we’re learning right now as if science isn’t always changing and I’ll have to keep learning anyway.”
He looks over at you, under-eye bags absolutely horrendous. “Tests are stupid,” you agree, and it seems to be exactly what he wants to hear as he sinks into your arms, face buried in your chest. “Too stupid for smarty-pants Jeon Jungkook.”
Jungkook groans, flops over you on the couch all smelly and gross. “They test you for memorization and not comprehension,” he adds, finally wiggling out of his stinky clothes.
With Jungkook, you can never tell where things are going. One minute he’s cursing the education system and the next he’s kissing along your neck in his rambling fury. “As if I these materials will somehow become nonexistent once I’m working,” he huffs, hands on your thighs. Your breath hitches in your throat, fingers digging into his biceps as he mindlessly kisses down the valley between your breasts. “Shit’s so fucking stupid,” he spits, bunching your skirt around your waist.
“Jeon—“
“I’m just trying to be a fuckin’ pediatrician, for fuck’s sake,” he growls, hastily undoes the front buttons on your blouse. Your black bra comes into view, heart pounding in your chest as Jungkook makes quick work of reaching behind and undoing it, pushing it away, and cupping your breasts in his palms. He guides one of your legs around his waist, tucks it around him as he gets to work raining down kisses on your tits. “So pretty, doll,” he murmurs, pretty pink lips leaving smooches down your chest.
You bite down on your lip, watch through hazy eyes as those big doe eyes flick up at you, tongue swirling around your nipple. “N— Not tired anymore?” you pant, hands in his hair. It’s still dry and knotted from last night’s adventures, but you don’t mind. Not when Jungkook’s hard cock is flush against your thigh.
“Nah,” he confirms, rolling his hips forward against your core. Oh he was horny horny this morning. Or was he angry horny? You don’t care, either way you were winning. “I serenaded you last night, y’know?”
You snort, but it morphs into a whimper when he captures your rock hard nipple between his perfect teeth. “Not a serenade,” you whimper, fingernails running along his scalp, “if I’m not there.”
Jungkook leans back, lets you breathe for a second as he unbuckles the front of his pants, jeans pulled down around his thighs. And of course he’s hard as fuck by now; this was Jeon Jungkook you were dealing with. He could get it up and going in two seconds flat at the mere sight of your collarbones. “You were there,” he insists, capturing your hand in his all romantic like until you’re flustered and shaking him off. He levels you with a cheesy grin, presses your palm against his chest. “Here.”
You gag. “That’s disgusting.”
Jungkook laughs, all squeaky and airy because he’s never given a fuck about looking cool in front of you. His next words only prove your point. “Why? Don’t like being nestled against my left lung and esophagus, all sexy like?”
You roll your eyes, tug your panties aside to give him a full view of what his dorky anatomical talk has done to you. “Dick me down or go away,” you say, pointer finger nudging his chin up when he stares too long
He snaps his teeth at you, almost bites your finger, the fuckin’ weirdo. “Sassy today,” he teases, presses the tip of his cock against you. Both of you groan, watch as he glides himself up and down your folds, angry mushroom head pushing against your clit. “Always so wet for me,” he mumbles shakily, eyes zeroed in on your wet folds and how slick they feel against him. “Didn’t stretch you out again.”
“Yo— You’re mean about that anyway,” you pant, pulling him closer by those firm ass cheeks of his. “I can tell when you’re using me as a reference model.”
Jungkook gasps as if he’s genuinely scandalized by your claim, follows your wordless command and finally lines himself up with your quivering entrance. “I’m a hands-on learner,” he offers, his cheeky smile still on his face until he finally sinks into you and his features twist up all pretty. “Your pussy’s just so pretty, baby,” he grunts, hand on your hip.
Your face feels warm, from the pleasure that rolls over your body and the vulgarity of his words. “Shush now,” you say, try to sound strict and in command, but he’s got his other hand cupping your jaw, looking at you like you’re a goddess and not some dorky college student in their even dorkier internship uniform.
“Temptress,” he mumbles, pushes past your clenching lips until he’s flush against you, your walls spasming around his cock because he just feels so good. “Tried to sneak past me in that tiny skirt.” He draws back, lets his swollen head catch at the entrance before sliding back in, pace slow and sensual, too intimate for some random Thursday morning. “Little doll just needs to be fucked in the morning, doesn’t she?” A pitiful whimper catches in your throat, eyes rolling to the back of your head with every glide of his dick back inside of you.
“N- Not my fault you have naughty eyes,” you whimper, hand coming up to bite at your knuckles as Jungkook continues to fuck you so sweetly. “Fuck.”
Jungkook ducks over you, wavy hair tickling your forehead as his hot breath fans across you. Smells like the mouthwash you made him take and hints of last night’s alcohol. “Can’t help it,” he husks, capturing your lips in his. Sloppy and wet, tongue clashing with yours as he guides you along, hips slowing to rhythmic ruts that have you moaning after each roll.
A few drawn-out thrusts later and you’re coming, body so sensitive this early in the morning, and it certainly doesn’t help that Jungkook looks like that (sweaty and worn, dark eyes watching you writhe beneath him). Surprisingly, it takes him a few more rushed thrusts before he follows, barely managing to pull out in time before his sparkling cum is splattering over your tummy and the skirt bunched around it. “No,” you whine, melting into the couch. “Jeon, this is my only one,” you complain, rubbing a hand over your eyes as if that’ll somehow make your legs work again enough to push him off.
Jungkook says nothing as he tucks himself back into his boxers, chest heaving from exertion as he crashes back onto the couch. “Liar,” he responds after a moment, out of breath and half asleep again. He’s still technically hungover. Hand lazily drawing circles on your knee as you sit up, wiggling your skirt back down. He gives you this indecipherable look. “I hid the other one under your dresser.”
You smack his arm. “Why the hell would you—“
He tackles you back into the couch, presses the stain into your skirt. It must feel gross against his naked tummy, but Jungkook doesn’t seem to care. “Makes me too horny,” he announces, pout pressed against your neck. “I had a teacher fantasy the other day. Did I tell you?” You roll your eyes, resigning yourself to this new life squashed beneath your boyfriend. “You were my high school anatomy teacher and I failed, so you made me stay after school for supplemental lessons—“
“That’s an abuse of power,” you point out, back to carding your hands through his now sweaty and greasy hair. “And you would never fail an anatomy class, that’s literally your comfort area of study.”
“Listen,” he stresses, lifts his head until he’s peering at you with these humongous Bambi eyes. “You spanked me and—“
“Go get my skirt.”

I also see Brock with Suzie. When I used to plan out my own region, it finished with them together.
To me she's the one girl receptive to his attention, perhaps not in a loving sense, at least not yet, but no other lady ever treated him so well.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ad04f5720f69f09e43ab37de65f69f5c/3bca1f994efef6e8-b5/s250x250_c1/a03bce206d430209392bd9151e3d4f8e0133c007.jpg)
Vulpix will always connect them, meaning Brock has a lasting relationship with Suzie, and a reason to find her again.
If Suzie handed Vulpix over within hours of meeting Brock, in that short period she'd recognized him as a kind, caring young man worthy of her trust, someone to keep Vulpix safe, and he did, repaying her faith in him.

That's the sort of lad any girl wants to marry, and, as Vulpix is one of my favourite Pokémon, both can own it if they're together, which is my main motivation.
Vulpix for everyone!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/5d5dc5cb2696e165b3f1bd5f6675f560/3bca1f994efef6e8-c2/s540x810/7f76c80f78bdf46b9c4e1eafc06e8fd00bd7f79b.jpg)
I understand Tracey's true dream being to meet Professor Oak, but that's almost more useless than aiming to be an artist.
Drawing is dull viewing, but it keeps him occupied, and may lead to a career, but what did he want from Oak?
Yes, you've seen him. Very nice. And what are you intending to do now?
If I think of it too much, it gives me the idea Tracey naturally assumed Oak would be so impressed he'd take him on immediately, and so he needn't plan further into future than that, which brings me back to his arrogance.
As for getting there, the only direct progress he makes is in three epidodes:
• The Lost Lapras, his introduction, by encountering Ash and Misty.
• A Tents Situation, his penultimate appearance, when he meets Oak.
• The Rivalry Revival, his exit, when he becomes an assistant.
Between the first and final two, there's a hole of nothingness.
I suppose each step he takes puts him closer, but plot-wise, it's an abstact quest of no use at this exact moment.
This wish of his won't motivate him into any action in individual episodes, nor does it affect how he behaves throughout.
He should've had a task in the meantime that combined both interests, if say Oak directly asked him to make detailed illustrations of all the tropical Pokémon varieties.
As in, he must purposely go out and find them, not just the few he sees passing through.
There'd then be scenes when Tracey led the team, racing off into the woods as he's heard rumours of oddly-coloured Pokémon on the island, having to traverse caves and cliffs to find it, and maybe the Pokémon wants a favour before it complies, leading to another search.
It might encourage him to colour the sketches in for a change.
As a trope, 'The Quiet One' works, but not so much in a trio. There's too few members for it to be a recognizable role.
It looks more like you're not doing enough.
I'm not certain it's what Tracey's supposed to be either, because he speaks often, but just doesn't say anything memorable.
Usually 'The Quiet One' is portrayed as sensitive, emotionally intelligent and highly perceptive, spotting the tiny details the loud mouths miss.
They'll sit on their own, or stare silently out to sea, in picturesque scenes absorbing their surroundings.
Whilst watching Pokémon encompasses this, I doubt he was deliberately designed to fill the spiritual or philosophical model, but that's the best interpretation of a flat, undeveloped personality.
He certainly doesn't behave as The Quiet One when he has the major part in the story, so given the show credit for making a calm, laidback yet deep character, isn't something I can do.
It's so ridiculous. These writers put effort into creating Tracey, and cared enough to include him in the series, and then never took it further.
As soon as he was in, they gave up!
If however I accepted him as intentionally reserved, perhaps to counter the wilder edges of Ash and Misty, we still come back to Brock.
Tracey as The Quiet One would only ever be well-received had he been there from the outset, his relaxed, or withdrawn attitude given greater focus and serving as integrel to its beginnings.
By coming in late, no one will ever judge him on his own terms, or for himself.
He'll be held up beside Brock, and found to be not as interesting, and the longer the comparison persists, the less consideration he'll get, until fans lock him out of their minds and feel nothing but resentment.
With regards to Pokéshipping, Tracey was seen as an obstacle to any theoretical romantic moments simply by being there.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6751f8401d4572054217e30f76e7bf22/3bca1f994efef6e8-87/s540x810/e347ca2612f607f606deb8564f083e149c2be24f.jpg)
When Pokémon started, shipping as a concept, plus the surrounding fandom 'culture' didn't yet exist, as least not fully, and the only fellow fans available for discussion were those you knew in real life, which limited the sharing of ideas.
Therefore, children watching the very first episode weren't conditioned to see everything in terms of pairings, obsessively analysing each scene for clues etc.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/07bc678b97361c564c2404339e878a93/3bca1f994efef6e8-19/s540x810/a134ab019c08f7c1a3d0bbd5b8b5fe9cded3655b.jpg)
By the time Pokéshipping began, Brock was already there, so part of it, in a sense, and the ship fitted around him.
Whilst Tracey is also the 'third wheel', and technically, any allowances shippers made for Brock could also work for him, it will always come back to the ill-feeling Tracey provoked.
What people overlook or ignore in their friends they will hate in their enemies.
It's not particularly rational, but then human nature isn't rational.
Some fans take against Ash and Misty. Some dislike Team Rocket. But no one hates Brock. He holds both sides of the divide together.
Therefore, Pokéshippers will accept him, as he was there almost from day one, but not Tracey, as he's not built into the foundations, neither of the anime nor the ship.
The writers didn't help matters by hinting at what might have been, fully knowing they'd never deliver.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f7b25bbf7f17b8fb77e9eb64628c9f4c/3bca1f994efef6e8-3c/s540x810/a612c696ef44ab47b09aa2990306452d0d1bc60b.jpg)
At the close of Pokéball Peril, as soon as Brock's gone, Team Rocket tease Ash and Misty as 'lovebirds', as if that's the obvious conclusion to them being alone.
A lot of shippers at home, still smarting at losing Brock, might've got over it had this continued, in that, whilst missed, Brock's absence is tolerable if it leads to more focus on Ash and Misty as characters, and greater detail on their emotions and thoughts, especially for each other.
Then Brock leaving means something, and can be justified as crucial to the coming story arc, but adding a replacement erases all that potential.
Removing Brock is pointless if we 'need' three Twerps, thus the writers squandered the opportunity to go in a new direction, which is, frustratingly, straight after they implied the opposite.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/41840d6757df6cc8788c8b36e51120f2/3bca1f994efef6e8-d3/s540x810/868b19d5129ea40cb439bb35e16a64307415a6f7.jpg)
I forgot to say before that Tracey is also hindered by his and the Orange League's perceived lack of legitimacy.
Ash, Misty, Brock, Gary, Delia, Oak, Joy and Jenny all come from the games.
Jessie and James, whilst not specifically featured, represent the villains of Red and Blue, which is a necessary invention as there were no named Team Rocket members besides Giovanni.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/3fda902b536f4b24a555302b78e32405/3bca1f994efef6e8-df/s400x600/a6a4f9ebd3d96ff5d0430c5474d00c71b3c8966e.jpg)
Pokémon Yellow had also come out by then, retroactively adding them to the game world, so that's alright.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e47f524fbf5c166ab6f916d082f5be91/3bca1f994efef6e8-0e/s250x250_c1/ed34b5a9f8cb5b51202cd531c041771d4ae02450.jpg)
Tracey however was the first main character to exist inside the anime alone, so not someone we were eager to see onscreen.
Back then, the branches of Pokémon: games, cartoon, cards, manga and merchandise, were much more connected and cross-referenced than they are now, and for the anime to adapt the game was considered very important.
When Tracey, with no roots in Red and Blue, comes in, and takes the place of Brock, who does, there was a feeling he hadn't 'earnt' his right to be there.
Who do you think you are, coming over here and acting like you belong?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/42a03c9ffd093da91042557906ad9b71/3bca1f994efef6e8-0a/s540x810/634f3ff29a0b38617e5bdb744987783d3dacb78b.jpg)
The Orange Islands aren't a bad series compared to what follows, but when judged only by Kanto, it marked a step away from the original purpose of animating the game, and that wasn't a popular move.
We 'knew' the Indigo League as players. We'd walked through the towns, battled there, and been the hero, but this place, this brand-new, never-before-mentioned archipelago, with little relevance to the mainland, held no such significance.
It's a bonus round before Johto, as if not worthy in itself, merely a stop-gap edition, just to have something, anything even, to keep the kids occupied until the real stuff arrives.
It didn't seem to matter as much because of all of the above, and the sleepy, drifting tone of wandering the seas, sailing wherever the currents go, amplified that.
If it doesn't care, why should we?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/de1576313dd494a74efc56ec6d5ab6b5/3bca1f994efef6e8-fb/s500x750/a6c33234b472687280fcfdb5bb15cb782181e33d.jpg)
Brock experienced blizzards, deserts, shipwrecks and eruptions like a proper adventurer.
He'd been through it all with Ash and Misty as a true companion.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6beaf1e4fcfd81a55bb63a53a9f06d53/3bca1f994efef6e8-61/s400x600/3a7f8063b3d4ccb78d3956b6540cd2c350830d8c.jpg)
Tracey meanwhile, had really nothing but blue seas, clean beaches and fruit groves to worry about.
Overall, and visually, it's just one long summer holiday for him, with no hardship to test his mettle.
How could we even tell if he was worth our investment, when we never saw him deal with serious situations?
It's another circle: no one likes Tracey, because they associate him with the 'false' Orange League, and no one likes the Orange League, as that's the one with Tracey.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e14f858285eb2e0487d11b0b5e1c071d/3bca1f994efef6e8-83/s540x810/417b6fdc06518c625a0e69132d7faf520cb6e524.jpg)
Hating him is a very time-specific reaction.
You need to have been a child then, watching Pokémon in order, with no knowledge of what's to come, to feel it.
I wouldn't expect any fan outside that to join in if it's not part of their experience.
My younger self would never forgive me for mellowing with age, but then, when innocent enough to think Tracey was the worst thing that could ever happen to Pokémon, I didn't realise how lucky I was.
Because he most certainly isn't.

at my worst
masterlist
pairing: wanda maximoff x reader
words: ~1,287
warnings: fluff, slow dancing in the kitchen :’)
requested: by me :p
a/n: it’s officially my birthday here! i still have two requests to post (dw they are very much on their way) but i just wanted to post a little something to celebrate. all mistakes are my own! happy reading! ♡
translations:
moya lyubov - my love
milaya – sweetheart
“Close your eyes.”
“Baby, you’ve already put your hands over my eyes.” You laugh softly. “I kinda have no choice.”
The sound of a huff from behind you brings a grin onto your face, already picturing the adorable little nose scrunch that was no doubt gracing your girlfriend's features while she stood behind you.
“Don’t be a smartass, moya lyubov.”
She tugs on your head lightly, your neck following the movement until the back of your head was pressed against her stomach, the hands currently covering your eyes preventing you from looking up at her.
“Me?” You gasp. “Never.”
You don't know whether or not to be impressed at the fact that you know Wanda's shaking her head at you without even having to look at her. She's quiet for a moment before a rush of air surrounds you for a brief moment, the feeling of Wanda's lips making contact with your forehead filling your senses.
“Just promise me you won’t open your eyes until I say so.”
It's not unlike Wanda to come in and check on you while your working on your assignments, knowing that you can get carried away and forget to let yourself take breaks when the due dates for your assignments start creeping closer and closer.
And it's obvious that she's got something planned for you, so you nod your head as best as you could in her hold.
Reaching up, you tap her the back of her hands. “Promise, milaya. No peeking.”
You keep your word and keep your eyelids tightly shut, listening to the sound of Wanda's feet padding across the hard wood floors. You manage to count to twenty twice before you hear Wanda enter the room once again, sensing her setting something down on your desk right in front of you.
“You can open your eyes now.”
You blink a few times, and it takes you a moment to register that the flickering lights in front of you wasn't just your eyes playing tricks on you, and that instead it was just a bunch of candles. On top of a cake. That had your name written on it in Wanda's handwriting.
A cake?
“Happy birthday, Y/N.”
She releases a breathy laugh at the confusion painted on your countenance, and points to the candles that were surely starting to melt onto the frosting.
"Oh!" You burst out, shutting your eyes once again as you send off a quick wish before quickly extinguishing the flames.
You grab your phone as soon as the last candle is blown out. Surely I haven't forgotten, right? The date currently on the screen betrays you because there it was, clear as day. Your birthday staring back at you.
Remembering that you weren't alone, you turn to your girlfriend (who was finding the whole situation endearing) watching you with an amused smile.
“I really forgot my own birthday?”
She nods as she carefully climbs onto your lap. It doesn't take long for you two to find a comfortable position, one of Wanda's hands resting by the nape of your neck, gently twirling the baby hairs there.
“Yes, you did but that’s okay.” She reassures. "You were busy, so it's understandable."
You know she's saying it to make you feel better, and in a way it does but that doesn't stop you from feeling a tinge of guilt. You weren't really one to celebrate birthdays; you never did know when exactly you stopped celebrating the date, but it never bothered you. Not until you met Wanda anyways.
Before you can overthink yourself into self-condemnation, your girlfriend luckily pulls you out of your daze, both mentally and physically.
“But, now that you do remember, you legally have to come out and eat some cake with me while we cuddle on the couch.”
You grin as she pulls you up from your seat, grabbing the cake once again before motioning you out of your study.
“Alright, since I legally have to.” You tease, holding your hands up beside your head as you head to the couch with Wanda close on your tail.
“You know you love cuddling with me, L/N, don’t deny it.”
-
Wanda pulls you away from your work long enough to watch a few episodes of I Love Lucy and The Brady Bunch while snacking on the cake she made for you. True to her word, you two spend a majority of the evening nestled against one another, with you laying comfortable between her legs as her fingers drew random patters across your back.
When you two head to the kitchen to wash the dishes together, you connect your phone to the speaker, letting your playlist fill the air as you two work through your final chores of the night.
You make your way over to Wanda when the guitar playing through the speakers signals the start of one of your favourite songs, taking her hands and wrapping them around your neck as you pull her away from the sink.
Can I call you baby?
Can you be my friend?
Can you be my lover up until the very end?
"We're meant to be washing the dishes, milaya." She reminds you, but she's already swaying in time with you, stepping closer to close the distance between you two.
“And we will eventually but right now we're dancing, love." You smile as you rest your hands on her waist. "The dishes can wait."
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend
Stick by my side even when the world is givin' in, yeah
You sing along quietly, neither of you breaking each others' gazes as you sway along the kitchen floor.
It might not have been the typical way to spend someone's birthday, but you wouldn't change it for the world.
All you needed was right here.
Oh, oh, oh, don't, don't you worry
I'll be there, whenever you want me
You twirl Wanda slowly, the grin on your face growing more and more at the happiness in her laugh, the sound filling your chest with such bliss you worry for a moment that your heart could burst with the intensity of it all.
I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
"When did you get so good at this?" She questions with a teasing smile as she rests her head on your shoulder.
"Whenever we decided that the kitchen was the perfect place for dancing."
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst
You weren't looking for love when you met Wanda. But love found you anyways, and it led you to the love of your life.
She came into your life without a warning and took every apprehension, expectation, and fear you had about love and threw it out the window.
You don't know when exactly you fell for her, but you do remember your heart beating out of your chest when you finally admitted it to yourself, almost as if it was telling you it's about damn time.
-
“I love you.” You tell her when you two finally make your way to bed hours later. "Thank you for tonight."
“I love you.” She tells you before turning around in your arms so she's facing you. “Over and over again, I love you.”
You don't think you could ever show Wanda all the love and appreciation you have for her; but you sure as hell were going to try for as long as you were by her side.
So, you share another kiss with the woman in your arms, just because you can.
“Happy birthday, Y/N/N.”

Rendog finale appreciation post
Let’s appreciate how long he’d planned this. He either planned out his entire season, or was smart enough to connect all of his dots when he improvised. Down to the smallest of details. He was either secretly recording for the ENTIRE SEASON, keeping little bits and pieces for the end, OR he created backups and meticulously recreated them. Like when he teased Renbob in the cafe a very good while ago, or when he showed Grumbot in his finale. These little details are what makes the story come to life.
Like. Imagine going on the Hermitcraft world, and as you’re interacting with the storylines your fellow hermits laid out, you’re trying to intersect yours with them at the same time. For example, how he made supporting Stress for mayor as something the Renperor told him to, and hired the Boomers for a “planned” blowing up of his base. Sure, Ren could’ve broken character and went “I support Stress because she’s my friend and I like pink! :D” or “oopsie Pamela died to a creeper, I must Get Her Back”. But he made all the collabs part of his story. All his friends are characters, even if they play a minor part.
… Now I’m doubting how much did Ren plan from the beginning and how much is improvised. The absolutely great thing is that: we can’t tell. And we don’t care. What matters is that Ren is an excellent storyteller and is capable of creating and weaving stories. Jevin stealing Pam for drama, thus making a mooshroom more important than she is, so naturally Ren would become evil to revive her? Ren connected the dots! He always does! Even if those aren’t his dots!
Ren’s finale is so epic and heartfelt and passionate. You can feel this is why he started the season. From the dramatic chapter names (also categorising his season neatly), many pieces of epic music he commissioned, making up distinct voices and personalities for the characters, and so much more. He managed to recap the season and add something new at the end. It felt like a satisfying, graceful, dignified end to Ren’s Star Wars theme.
And it was… really organic? When c!Ren was having nightmares, cc!Ren used it to show memories of S7 to the audience, but added enough editing to make it make sense for c!Ren.
His timing was impeccable too??? Like, the way the Rendog theme came into the soundtrack the MOMENT the Renperor commissioned Ren to build the first hanger/ ship/ whatever (ily Ren but I still don’t care about Star Wars :D) through the hologram— bruh that genuinely made me emotional. The change from a tense Star Wars-ish theme to Ren’s joyful, epic theme… and how the timing matched the moment the first Star Wars build Ren made… the Renperor is literally handing it over to c!Ren, both lore-wise and music-wise. And what’s more, the hanger bay is the start of cc!Ren’s mega grind. This is both c!Ren and cc!Ren’s big moment, and the music triumphantly shows that.
And Ren showing his time lapses in time with his theme just really told us how much EFFORT he put in. We hear the theme every time we watch a new episode, but now it’s reimagined and epic and orchestral but it’s still so Ren. The nostalgia is real.
Ren has somehow outdone himself, and as a person who doesn’t know SHIT about Star Wars, I was really entertained and impressed this season. I’m just. I’m begging you to watch it even if you didn’t follow Ren. The editing is so great and it BLOWS my mind that this one person is able to weave a story for himself without excluding other storylines of Hermitcraft.
#rendog#hermitcraft#ria.txt#I listened to jonos tracks writing this and I’m so emo#also if anyone else wanna add anything feel free <3#Ren!! Dog!!
